Nodules of various compositions, including ferromanganese nodules, have been found in bottom sediments of an artificial reservoir
in the central Altai Territory. The nodules were formed in the alkaline environment against the background of a high carbonate
content and saturation with oxygen. The rate of nodule growth is no less than 1.7–1.8 mm/yr and the pH value of water varies
from 8.0 to 9.7. Fe and Mn contents in soil and loam of the drainage area are lower than the global clarke value, whereas
Ca, K, and Na contents are much higher. The main mass of bottom sediments in the reservoir is markedly enriched in Cd, Mg,
Mn, Sr, Ni, Cr, Sb, V, and Pb, but they are depleted in Cu, Mo, Zn, and Li, relative to the soil and loam. Elements in ferromanganese
nodules are arranged in the following way in terms of the decreasing concentration coefficient: Mn (27) > Ba (13.4) > Co (10.7)
> Mo (9.2) > Cd (5.35) > Ni (3.88) > V (3.52) > Cu (3.3) > Fe (3.2) > Sb (2.17) > Sr (2.04) > Pb (1.5) > Zn (1.43) > Cr (1.1)
> Li (0.78) > Mg (0.75) > Na (0.69) > K (0.67) > Ca (0.51). The microelemental composition of nodules in the reservoir qualitatively
fits the composition of ferromanganese nodules in seas and oceans. However, the contents of major ore elements (Ni, Cu, Co,

Use of biomarkers indices in a sediment core to evaluate potential pollution sources in a subtropical reservoir in Brazil 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The presence of PAHs, n-alkanes, pristane, and phytanes in core sediment from the Vossoroca reservoir (Parana, southern Brazil) was investigated. The total concentration of the 16 PAHs varied from 15.5 to 1646 μg kg−1. Naphthalene was present in all layers (3.34–74.0 μg kg−1). The most abundant and dominant n-alkanes were n-C15 and n-C36, with average concentrations of 198.1 ± 46.8 and 522.9 ± 167.7 μg kg−1, respectively. Lighter n-alkanes were distributed more evenly through the layers and showed less variation, specially n-C9, n-C12, and n-C18, with average concentrations of 14.6 ± 3.0, 31.6 ± 1.9, and 95.0 ± 5.2 μg kg−1, respectively; heavier n-alkanes were more unevenly distributed. 相似文献

The paper discusses the ionic sources and chemical quality of the waters (surface and groundwater) around the Tehri reservoir in Uttarakhand, Garhwal, Himalaya, for drinking and irrigation purposes. The main Bhagirathi river, tributary streams and springs and groundwater are the main sources of water for the reservoir and inhabitant living around it. Fifty-two water samples were collected from springs, handpumps (borewell) and streams and were analysed for major ions. The pH is varying from 6.8 to 8.6 and EC from 28 to 820 μS/cm. The chemical composition of water is dominated by Ca, Mg and HCO3. The high ratio of Ca + Mg/Na + K and low ratio of Na + K/TZ indicate dominance of carbonate dissolution as the main solute acquisition process in this part of Lesser Himalaya. The trilinear and X–Y plots suggest less contribution from silicate weathering and anthropogenic activities. The excess of Na over Cl indicating much of the alkalis in the waters of Tehri area have source other than precipitation possibly from silicate weathering. Recharged by meteoric water, the quality of water in the study area is controlled essentially by chemical processes occurring between water and lithology and locally altered by human activities. Among the trace metals the concentration of Fe at few locations has marginally exceeded the WHO and BIS standards of drinking water. The analytical result computed from various water quality indices indicate fairly good quality of water for both drinking and irrigation purposes. The factor analysis performed on the major ion data indicate two factors are the most important affecting the water quality of the area. 相似文献

储层非均质性对油气田的勘探和开发效果影响很大。结合测井资料二次解释的孔隙度(φ)、泥质含量(Vsh)、粒度中值(Md)、束缚水饱和度(Swi)等资料,借助BP网络算法,对渗透率进行预测。BP网络算法是人工神经网络算法中的一种,采用的是误差逆传算法,即把网络输出的误差归纳为各连接权的过程,通过把输出层的误差逐层向输入层逆向传播以分摊给各层单元,从而获取各层单元的参考误差,以便调整相应的联接权。如此反复,直至网络输出与期望输出之间的误差减少到允许误差为止。通过这样学习过程,消除了系统误差,提高了渗透率预测的精度,并为定性定量描述储层非均质性打下了坚实的基础。通过对萨尔图油田中部葡萄花油层组的非均质性进行了定量半定量的研究,认为萨尔图油田中部葡萄花油层组PI2小层层内非均质性最严重,与沉积微相密切相关。单砂层垂向上渗透率的变化以正韵律和复合式韵律为主,局部发育反韵律模式。经对葡萄花油层组PI1~PI4系统研究,层内非均质性强弱依次为PI2a、PI3、PI2b、PI1、PI4;层间非均质性在PI3和PI4间表现得最强,其他相对要弱;各小层平面非均质性相差无几,整体表现为较强的非均质性。 相似文献

Zooplankton assemblages in relation to water quality parameters at lentic and lotic habitats of Air Itam Reservoir, Penang, Malaysia, were analysed. Five sampling stations were designated, including three stations located in the reservoir (Stations A, B, and C) and two stations in the upstream inflow and downstream outflow (Stations D and E, respectively). The most common and dominant zooplankton found in the lake were Polyarthra vulgaris, Ceriodaphnia cornuta, Mesocyclops leuckarti, and Thermocyclops crassus. Water Quality Index, calculated as recommended by the Malaysian Department of Environment, ranged between 88.46 and 93.6, showed that the reservoir was clean. Low numbers of species and value of the Shannon–Wiener Diversity Index were recorded at stations located upstream and downstream of the reservoir. Cluster analysis based on the abundance of zooplankton species distinguished the sampling stations into two groups (lentic and lotic groups, comprised of Stations A, B, and C; and Stations D and E, respectively). This study showed that zooplankton occurrence and abundance were associated with the quality of their environment, and zooplankton community provides information about the reservoir ecosystem, thus reflecting the importance of biomonitoring in lake assessment and management. 相似文献

The optimum period for ciliated protozoa colonizing of an artificial substrate, the polyurethane foams have been assessed in a tropical aquatic ecosystem, the Ekozoa stream of the Mfoundi River Basin in Yaounde (Cameroon). 5?days were calculated as the highest period for the biological indicators of pollution to optimally colonize the artificial substrate. This time interval is the same for all the sampling stations assessed from upstream to downstream and the various microhabitats along the water course. The statistical method applied is that of the completely randomized blocks. The colonization of the substrate increases from the first day to the fifth day, before decreasing to the tenth day. The statistical analysis of variance between the maximum day and the other sampling period was significant at 5?% while the calculation of the value between different points of the same station was not significant. The average number of ciliated protozoan ranges from 20 to 23, from upstream to downstream. 相似文献

为了研究潞安矿区煤储层压裂人工裂缝与天然裂隙的关系,井下实测了矿区煤储层宏观裂隙,扫描电镜观测了煤储层显微裂隙;探讨了矿区含裂缝非均质煤岩破裂规律。对原位煤储层条件下人工裂缝沿天然裂隙扩展的最大水平主应力方向与天然裂隙走向夹角的临界值进行了计算。结果表明:矿区的漳村、司马、屯留、常村和五阳5个区块临界值分别为12.00°、9.22°、9.16°、8.56°和7.42°,当最大水平主应力方向与天然裂隙走向的夹角小于此临界角时,人工裂缝沿天然裂隙扩展,反之沿最大水平主应力方向扩展。据此,探讨了潞安矿区原位煤储层压裂裂缝沿天然裂隙扩展的3种模式。 相似文献

Flood and desiccation are perceived as two most critical and influential disasters which contradict between causes and consequences. Flood occurs when the water surface could no longer flow the whole water flow, thus, the water flooded. Contradicted to that, desiccation occurs when the water flow contains a low volume of water deposit, thus, the water requirement exceeds the available potential. That condition was caused by land utilization as the consequences due to the increased land requirement for housing or industrial needs. An attempt to overcome the flood, nowadays, is implemented mostly in a structural way, through building canals, implementing rivers normalization, building gateways or building flood control pump which are more directed toward the flood direction in order to increase the surface flow in an immediate maner to the sea. However, the effort to overcome the flood its self, could be more effective if followed by an effort to increase the soil ability to absorb natural recharge or artificial recharge or by refilling the water into the earth surface. Absorption reservoir used as one of technology alternatives (artificial recharge) could also be used to support the attempt to overcome flood and desiccation. Absorption reservoir is a dam which was designed according to the basic principles, such as the bottom surface of the reservoir that has a high permeability surface; the surface of the reservoir water is higher (higher aquifer) along with a high permeability, considering the availability of water source that has been absorbed and its quality; considering the aquifer category on the water absorption dam; 相似文献

The release of metals during weathering has been studied in order to assess its geochemical controls and possible effects
on environmental health in Bangladesh. A total of 27 soil samples and 7 surface water samples were collected from four locations
covering three major regions in the country. Results show that weathering effects are a strong function of climatic conditions.
Surface waters are typically enriched in Al, Mg, Ca, Na, K, As, Ba, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn. The solubility of metal ions, organometallic
complexes, co-precipitation or co-existence with the colloidal clay fraction are the main processes that lead to metal enrichment
in lake and reservoir water. Aluminium concentrations exceed World Health Organization (WHO) drinking-water standards in all
samples, and in two regions, arsenic concentrations also significantly exceed WHO standards. The elevated levels of As indicate
that arsenic contamination of water supplies in Bangladesh is not confined to groundwater.

The Omerli reservoir is located on the northeastern side of the Istanbul City. It is one of the most important sources of drinking water with a surface area of 23.1 km2 and a volume of 220 × 106 m3 in the Marmara Region. Water quality characteristics of the lake investigated from May 2002 to April 2003 enabled us to identify the effect of waste loads on water quality of Omerli Lake. The following parameters were measured in the lake water: temperature (16.1°C), conductivity (250 μS/cm), secchi disk depth (1.9 m), dissolved oxygen (DO) (9.36 mg/L), nutrients [ortho-phosphate (78.9 μg/L), nitrate + nitrite (707.5 μg/L) and ammonia-nitrogen (264 μg/L)], chlorophyll a (9.43 μg/L), total organic carbon (3.33 mg/L), total suspended solids (4.54 mg/L), total poly aromatic hydrocarbon (t-PAH) (0.69 μg/L) and copper (24.5 μg/L). T-PAH (16.5 mg/g-dry-w), Cu (96.5 μg/g-dry-w), organic carbon (org-C) (2.0%) and N (0.44%) were determined in the surface sediment. The values of chlorophyll a and DO in the upper layer were relatively high and low secchi disk depths indicates eutrophic state. There are five channels discharging water, including waste water, into the lake. All channels were sampled during six occasions in order to cover variations between seasons. The following parameters were measured: total organic carbon, total phosphorus, total kjeldahl nitrogen, ammonia and total suspended solids with the flow rates. The Göçbeyli stream has the highest flow into the lake (1.5 × 108 m3/year) but most of the nutrients were discharged from the Pa?aköy channel. It is accounting for 81% of ammonia and 80% of total phosphorus into the lake. Three scenarios were run using AQUATOX model: (1) all existing inflows are discharging into the lake (present situation); (2) none is discharging; (3) all are discharging except the Pa?aköy channel. The first scenario produced concentrations consistent with measurements in the lake. In all stations, a phytoplankton peak value was predicted during November and December 2002, and January 2003. In the second scenario, as expected, a significant decrease in the concentrations was predicted. In the third scenario, a small improvement in the water quality was obtained. To significantly improve the state of the lake, instead of entering Pa?aköy channel, wastewater should bypass the lake. 相似文献

A key challenge in the oil and gas industry is the ability to predict key petrophysical properties such as porosity and permeability. The predictability of such properties is often complicated by the complex nature of geologic materials. This study is aimed at developing models that can estimate permeability in different reservoir sandstone facies types. This has been achieved by integrating geological characterization, regression models and artificial neural network models with porosity as the input data and permeability as the output. The models have been developed, validated and tested using samples from three wells and their predictive accuracy tested by using them to predict the permeability in a fourth well which was excluded from the model development. The results indicate that developing the models on a facies basis provides a better predictive capability and simpler models compared to developing a single model for all the facies combined. The model for the combined facies predicted permeability with a correlation coefficient of 0.41 which is significantly lower than the correlation coefficient of 0.97, 0.93, 0.99, 0.96, 0.96 and 0.85 for the massive coarse-grained sandstones, massive fine-grained sandstones-moderately sorted, massive fine-grained sandstones-poorly sorted, massive very fine-grained sandstones, parallel-laminated sandstones and bioturbated sandstones, respectively. The models proposed in this paper can predict permeability at up to 99% accuracy. The lower correlation coefficient of the bioturbated sandstone facies compared to other facies is attributed to the complex and variable nature of bioturbation activities which controls the petrophysical properties of highly bioturbated rocks. 相似文献

A new approach is proposed to interpret magnetic anomalies caused by isolated thin dike-like causative targets. The approach is essentially based on utilizing artificial neural network (ANN) inversion for estimating the problem parameters. Particularly, the modular neural network (MNN) is used for the inversion process in order to quantitatively interpret the magnetic anomalies. The MNN inversion has been first tested on a synthetic data with and without random white Gaussian noise. The effect of random noise has been clearly investigated where it showed that the approach provided satisfactory results. Furthermore, three field examples have been inverted in order to investigate the applicability of the proposed approach. The results showed good agreement with the techniques that have been stated in the literatures. 相似文献

A current scenario to explain much of the atmospheric CO2 increase during the Glacial to Holocene climate transition requires the outgassing of a deep, old oceanic CO2 reservoir thought to be located in the Southern Ocean. In this scenario, CO2-rich and 14C-depleted subsurface Antarctic-sourced water, ventilates the thermocline where it is purged to the atmosphere in the equatorial regions, a view that has been met with conflicting results. Using a novel approach (paired surface and deep-dwelling planktonic foraminifer radiocarbon analyses), we document that the equatorial Atlantic thermocline did not see old, 14C-depleted water, which would be characteristic of the proposed isolated deep ocean CO2 reservoir. Data from several studies concur that, during the deglaciation, Antarctic intermediate waters were contributing to Atlantic thermocline waters even more than today, therefore, our observations challenge the current purging hypothesis. Together with other studies, these results suggest that the mechanism responsible for the deglacial CO2 rise cannot invoke contemporary circulation modes and/or thermocline ventilation pathways. 相似文献

Individual neutral sugars in sediments, sediment trap materials and major biological sources of a coastal marine environment (Dabob Bay, Washington State) were analyzed by capillary gas chromatography of equilibrated isomeric mixtures. Plankton, bacteria, and vascular plant tissues of different types yielded reproducible and biochemically consistent compositional patterns. These patterns, when expressed in simple parameters, allowed distinctions between marine and terrestrial carbohydrate sources as well as among the major different types of vascular plant tissues. Plankton and bacteria, due to their compositional diversity, were not further distinguishable by carbohydrate compositions alone. Carbohydrate compositions of Dabob Bay sediments and sediment trap materials, interpreted using source-indicator parameters, indicate a predominantly marine origin with increased relative input of terrestrially-derived carbohydrates in winter periods of low phytoplankton productivity. Both plankton and grasses are indicated as major carbohydrate sources during spring. Glucose yield enhancement factors, determined by comparative acid pretreatments, confirm the general predominance of α-cellulose-poor marine polysaccharides and increased levels of α-cellulose-rich vascular plant remains in winter sediment trap samples. 相似文献
