1 INTRODUCTIONThe Leonid meteor shower is a well-known periodic meteor shower. Its history is tied upwith the development of the theory of meteor stream astronomy itself. Visual Orionid meteor data dating back to 1944 were transformed into the standard format of the Visual Meteor Data Base (VMDB) of the International Meteor Organization (IMO) for systematic analysis. The strong 2006 Orionid return with a very low population index (r = 1.6) and a peak ZHR of 60 (about 2.5 of the average peak strength) resembled meteor showers connected with the returns of resonant meteoroids. An investigation of data dating back to 1928 yielded similar rate enhancements in 1936, further supporting the assumption that meteoroids trapped in the 1:6 resonance with Jupiter caused the unusual 2006 Orionid return.  相似文献

Stellar occultations by Neptune on 7 and 25 June 1985 were observed in the K band from Sutherland (SAAO) to search for conforming evidence of the ring-like “arc” reported by Hubbard et al. (W.B. Hubbard, A. Brahic, B. Sicardy, L.-R. Elicer, F. Roques, and F. Vilas (1986). Nature 319, 636–640). A binary star was occulted on 7 June 1985, and since both components were occulted by the planet, their relative positions could be precisely determined. A single sharp dip, of high signal-to-noise ratio, was observed in the post-emersion occultation trace. If this feature were caused by material near Neptune, its corresponding projected equatorial plane radius is either 62,600 ± 160 km or 63,760 ± 120 km, depending on which of the binary star pair was occulted. The equatorial radius, width, and optical depth of the 7 June feature are similar to those described by Hubbard et al. The absence of a corresponding post-emersion dip due to the occultation of the companion star suggests that the ring-like material is discontinuous over a scale of several thousand kilometers in ring circumference. No ring-like features were observed during pre-immersion. The 25 June 1985 occultation was also successfully observed, including atmospheric occultation profiles for both immersion and emersion. No evidence for ring-like material was found in the region probed by this occultation during post-emersion, which included the entire range of equatorial radii over which “arc” events have been previously reported.  相似文献

The Carancas meteorite fell on 15 September 2007 approximately 10 km south of Desaguadero, near Lake Titicaca, Peru, producing bright lights, clouds of dust in the sky and intense detonations. The Carancas meteorite is classified as a H4–5 ordinary chondrite with shock stage S3 and a degree of weathering W0. The Carancas meteorite is characterized by well defined chondrules composed either of olivine or pyroxene. The Mössbauer spectra show an overlapping of paramagnetic and magnetic phases. The spectra show two quadrupole doublets associated to olivine and pyroxene; and two magnetic sextets, associated with the primary phases kamacite/taenite and Troilite (Fe2+). Metal particles were extracted from the bulk powdered samples exhibit only kamacite and small amounts of the intergrowth tetrataenite/antitaenite. X-Ray diffractogram shows the primary phases olivine, pyroxene, troilite, kamacite, diopside and albite. Iron oxides has not been detected by Mössbauer spectroscopy or XRD as can be expected for a meteorite immediately recovered after its fall.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the Gödel type universe in modified f(R, ϕ) theory of gravity, where R stands for Ricci scalar and ϕ be the scalar potential. We investigate the modified field equations by using anisotropic and perfect fluid distributions. In particular, we consider two proposed models with some fixed values of parameters and investigate the exact solutions. The behaviour of energy conditions can be seen by a detailed graphical analysis. Furthermore, Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation has been studied for both models in this theory. We have also discussed some exact solutions using perfect fluid. It is concluded that f(R, ϕ) theory of gravity support the phenomenon of cosmic expansion of the universe through Gödel type universe for both models.  相似文献
