Observations of C100 and C125 atomic carbon recombination lines were made at the Algonquin Radio Observatory, towards the neutral interface separating theHii region DR21 (at RA=20h37m14s, Dec=+42°0900) from its associated molecular cloud. An analysis of the Cn observations in conjunction with a simple model of a neutral interface enabled the derivation of the following parameters: electron density of 300 cm–3, electron temperature of 30 K, microturbulent velocity of 2.3 km s–1, and depth of the neutral interface of 0.01 pc. A single,stimulated emission model is sufficient to reproduce the Cn observations in the wavelength range from 4.6 cm (C100) to 21 cm (C166). All the known Cn data do support a pressure equilibrium between the neutral interface and theHii region, after the usual allowance is made for carbon depletion on grains.  相似文献

Heating of the primaeval plasma prior to the epoch of recombination results in distortions in the Rayleigh-Jeans region of the microwave relic radiation spectrum (1–60 cm, or more exactly =2.5–7/8 cm). The present observational data allow limits to be set to such energy injection from which follow upper limits to (a) the amount of antimatter in the universe; (b) the parameters of primaeval turbulence; and (c) the adiabatic fluctuation spectrum for small masses (M<1011 M ).If the heating takes place prior to the epocht=101012/5 sec (and in particular at the annihilation of electron-positron pairs atT108–1010 K,t<300 sec), no observable distortions are expected in the relic radiation spectrum. We numerically study the bifurcations of two nonlinear maps, with the same linear part, which depend on a parameter namely the Hénon quadratic map and the so called beam-beam map. Many families of periodic orbits which bifurcate from the central family, are studied. Each family undergoes a sequence of period doubling bifurcations in the quadratic map, But the behavior of the beam-beam map is completely different. Inverse bifurcations occur in both maps. But some families of the same type which bifurcate inversely in the quadratic map do not bifurcate inversely in the beam-beam map, even though both maps have common linear part.  相似文献

The development and application of a predictor-corrector method for the computation of families of periodic motions as well as of singular periodic solutions from which branchings or change in the stability character occur, based on the use of second order variations is presented. Numerical results obtained by means of this method are also given. It is found that this algorithm consumes somewhat less computer time in determining orbits-members of a family of periodic orbits, while it represents a unique tool for the determination of branchings of various orders, as well as of the precise members of each family at which the orbits change from unstable to stable and viceversa.  相似文献

Formulae containing the elements of the variational matrix are obtained which determine the linear iso-energetic stability parameters of periodic orbits of the general three-body problem. This requires the numerical integration of the variational equations but produces the stability parameters with the effective accuracy of the numerical integration. The procedure is applied for the determination of horizontally critical orbits among the members of sets of vertical-critical periodic orbits of the threebody problem. These critical-critical orbits have special importance as they delimit the regions in the space of initial conditions which correspond to possibly stable three-dimensional periodic motion of low inclination.  相似文献

This paper is a continuation and a generalization of one published earlier (Duboshin, 1969): it discusses the problem whether there exist the Lagrangian and the Eulerian solutions of the generalized three-body (material points) problem. Every point in this generalized problem acts on another, one with a force (attractive or repulsive) directed along the straight line passing through these points, and in an arbitrary manner depending on time, mutual distance and its derivatives, the first and the second. Here, generally speaking, the third axiom of dynamics (law of action and reaction) is not presupposed as fulfilled, that is, it is supposed that every two material points interact in a different way.This most general assumption being made, we establish the conditions which must dictate the laws of the interactions, so that the three points can always remain at the apexes of the equilateral triangle (Langrangian solution), or remain always on a straight line (Eulerian solution).The author believes that such general treatment of the three-body problem can be useful for theoretical studies in celestial mechanics and also for practical applications in the study of isolated stellar systems.

The interaction processes governing the penetration of the interstellar gas into the solar neighbourhood are re-examined — as well as photo-ionization and charge-exchange processes, proton elastic collisions and electron ionizations help reduce the nearby gas densities. The total destruction rate varies little during the solar cycle, by perhaps 10%. Particle heating, particularly via the elastic collisions, determines the gas characteristics in the gravitationally focussed tail—enhanced H-density is prevented, while the He-tail is effectively hotter than 103 K.Termination of the solar wind is rediscussed in the light of both electron heating and the stronger gas/plasma interaction. The spiral interplanetary field is taken to break up and the subsonic plasma flow to be controlled by the pressure of slowly cooling electrons. The terminating collisionless shock is then, if it exists at all, very weak (M 1<1.4), subcritical, and energetically unimportant. Cosmic rays are little affected by this sonic transition, but at least the electron component should be modulated by plasma turbulence throughout the ionizing flow.

We study the bifurcations of families of double and quadruple period orbits in a simple Hamiltonian system of three degrees of freedom. The bifurcations are either simple or double, depending on whether a stability curve crosses or is tangent to the axis b=–2. We have also generation of a new family whenever a given family has a maximum or minimum or .The double period families bifurcate from simple families of periodic orbits. We construct existence diagrams to show where any given family exists in the control space (, ) and where it is stable (S), simply unstable (U), doubly unstable (DU), or complex unstable (), We construct also stability diagrams that give the stability parameters b1 and b2 as functions of (for constant ), or of (for constant ).The quadruple period orbits are generated either from double period orbits, or directly from simple period orbits (at double bifurcations). We derive several rules about the various types of bifurcations. The most important phenomenon is the collision of bifurcations. At any such collision of bifurcations the interconnections between the various families change and the general character of the dynamical system changes.  相似文献

A statistical analysis of solar particle events, observed by the GSFC-UNH charged particle detector on board Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 from March 1972 to December 1974 (from 1 to 5 AU for each spacecraft), is carried out with the goal of experimentally determining the statistical average interplanetary propagation conditions from 3 to 30 MeV. A numerical propagation model is developed that includes diffusion with a diffusion coefficient of the form k r =k o r , convection, adiabatic deceleration, and a variable coronal injection profile. The statistical analysis is carried out by individually analyzing each of five parameters (t max, (tmax), t 5, ) that are uniquely defined in a solar particle event. Each of the five parameter data sets were analyzed in terms of both a spacecraft-solar flare connection longitude 50°, and a numerical model that employed a variable exponential decaying coronal injection profile.The five individual parameter analyses are combined with the results that the statistical average radial interplanetary diffusion coefficient from 1 to 5 AU is given by k r = (1.2 ± 0.4) × 1021 cm2 s-1 with = 0.0± 0.3 for 3.4 to 5.2 MeV protons and k r = (2.6 ± 0.6) × 1021 cm2 s-1 with () = 0.0± 0.3 for 24 to 30 MeV protons. Using the classical relationship for the radial scattering mean free path r, i.e. k r = r/3, we obtain r = 0.09 ± 0.03 AU and 0.075 ± 0.020 AU for the low and high energy data, respectively. These results show, from 1 to 5 AU and from 3 to 30 MeV, that r is both independent of radial distance and approximately independent of rigidity (for r~P , where P = rigidity, = -0.15 ± 0.20).The above diffusion coefficients are inconsistent With both the predictions of the diffusion coefficient from present theoretical transport models and with the diffusion coefficient used in modulation studies at low energies.  相似文献

With the Hamiltonian parameters developed for the two-fixed-centers problem a simple and very accurate expression of the quasi-integral can be given for the motion of artificial satellites perturbed by the Earth's zonal harmonics. This motion can be considered as integrable.A theoretical analysis shows that Hénon's semi-ergodic regions or chaotic regions are extremely small in this problem, and almost all orbits are of the regular or quasi-periodic type. Furthermore, the relative difference between the true motion and the corresponding integrable motion remains forever less than 10–14 for all regular orbits even in the vicinity of critical inclinations.For chaotic orbits this very small difference remains verified at least for centuries, nevertheless there are some exceptional orbits that finally diverge from the integrable model.  相似文献

The problem of stability of the equilibrium points (the libration points) in the problem of motion of a mass point in the neighbourhood of a rotating triaxial ellipsoid is investigated in the strict sense.In the plane of parameters, depending on the form and dynamical characteristics of the ellipsoids, the regions of stability and instability of the libration points are obtained.It is shown that the libration points of the ellipsoids, the form and dynamical characteristics of which are close to the planets of the solar system, are stable.

The procedure of numerical ascent from families of planar to three-dimensional periodic orbits and the subsequent descent to the plane is proved efficient in determining new families of planar asymmetric periodic orbits in the restricted three-body problem. Two such families are computed and described for values of the mass parameter for which it has been found that they exist. Two new families of three-dimensional asymmetric periodic orbits are also presented in this paper.  相似文献

The applicability of the properties of central configurations proceeding from the many-body problem to study of gaseous sphere cloud evolution during its gravitational contraction is justified. It is shown that the product runs to a constant value in the asymptotic time limit of simultaneous collision of all the particles of the cloud where is a form-factor of the potential energy and is a form-factor of the moment of inertia.The spherical bodies as well as ellipsoids of rotation and general ellipsoids with a one-dimensional mass distribution (k),k[0, 1] are found to possess the property =const.
