We present the results from CCD photometry in theV, R andI bands, of the ‘Dipper Asterism’ region of the open cluster M67 based on observations carried out at the prime focus of the 2.3 m Vainu Bappu Telescope of the Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur. The CCD parameters like the system gain and the readout noise are measured using several flatfield frames taken through the standardI filter. The CCD chip is calibrated using the photometric standards in the field and linear colour transformation relations are derived. Also a few newVRI photometric measurements are reported for the members of the cluster.  相似文献

Positional and photometric CCD observations of the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 fragments were carried out at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory. Up to 15 named fragments were detected and their equatorial coordinates and magnitudes are reported. CCD frames were processed using DAOPHOT II. The internal precision of reference star positions down to 18m is 0.″7 and the mean error of photometry does not exceed ±0.3 mag.  相似文献

The A-type W UMa system V566 Oph was observed photoelectrically in two wavebands (B andV) in the years 1988-1989 at the Kryonerion Astronomical Station of the National Observatory of Athens, Greece. The light curves of the system are analyzed using frequency-domain techniques and new geometric and photometric elements are derived. These elements are combined with the more recent spectroscopic data based on Reticon observations to yield the absolute parameters of the system. The evolutionary status of the system is considered and it is found that V566 Oph has started its evolution away from the Main Sequence. The period of the system continues to increase.  相似文献

We present new multiband CCD photometric observations of three chromospherically active stars with long periods (V2075 Cyg, FG UMa and BM CVn). The observations were made at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Observatory in 2006 and 2007. We analyzed BVRI (Bessell) CCD observations of these three RS CVn-type SB1 binaries with the following three steps: (i) Photometric rotation periods were obtained by analyzing their light variations with a differential corrections method and a Fourier transform technique. (ii) Light variations, observed over three or more consecutive orbital cycles, were investigated by using dark (cool) spot models with the program SPOT. (iii) Surface differential rotation coefficients for the primary components of these binaries were derived using our own photometric periods together with orbital periods taken from the literature.  相似文献

We describe and analyze observations of mutual events of Galilean satellites made at the Yunnan Observatory in February 2003 from CCD imaging for the first time in China. The Lulin One-meter Telescope at Lulin Observatory in Taiwan started open-use observations in January 2003. In order to evaluate the performance of the CCD photometric system, the characteristics and quality of the site, we obtained data of photometric standards as well as calibration data from February to November 2004. We report here the results of our analysis including the gain, readout noise, dark current and linearity of the CCD camera, and transformation coefficients, total throughputs, night sky brightnesses and limiting magnitudes for UBVRI bands.  相似文献

New photometric elements,i=89°.5,r a =0.24,r b =0.25 andL a =0.82(Y), 0.88(B), 0.94(U), are deduced for the eclipsing system TU Mon, using the incomplete Fourier method for the analysis of its light curve. They are based upon three-colour photoelectric observations obtained in 1966–68 with the 36-inch reflector of the Okayama Astrophysical Observatory. From discussion combined with the spectroscopic data byDeutsch (1945) and byPopper (1967), it seems fair to conclude that TU Mon is an ordinary semi-detached close binary system consisting of a detached brighter B5V star and an A5 subgiant in contact at its Roche limit.  相似文献

The infrared photometric observations of V4334 Sgr in 2000 are presented. They show that a gradual, but nonmonotonic increase in the optical depth of its dust envelope, which was formed early in 1997, had continued until the mid-summer. In July 1999 and July 2000, τ(1.25 µm)≈7.7 and 11.3, respectively. From July through October 2000, the optical depth decreased appreciably. From October 1998 (the first deep minimum of visual brightness) until now, the amplitude of the bolometric-magnitude variations in V4334 Sgr is $ \sim 0^m .5$ . The relation between the bolometric and L magnitudes (m bol, L) can be fitted by a linear function, m bol = 1.25L + 4.04. In the dust-envelope model chosen, the percentage of large (a gr=0.2–0.3 µm) dust grains by particle number increased by a factor of ~4. In the summer of 2000, their fraction by mass was ~78%, and they mainly contributed to the optical depth of the dust envelope. No appreciable correlation between optical depth and bolometric flux was observed.  相似文献

By use of the colour indicesU-B andB-V, the spectral types of the systemic components are estimated. Regular positional observations of minor planets in Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory have been begun with installation of photographic Zone Astrograph in 1961. The observations of 19 selected minor planets up to 12 magnitude were obtained for 36 years. Accuracy of the photographic positions of minor planets is rather high, 0.15′′-0.19′′. These positions were used for improvement of the system of fundamental catalogue and determination of its orientation to the dynamical reference frame. CCD observations of asteroids have been begun at the Zone Astrograph in 2000. There was obtained about the same accuracy, as in photographic observations. During 2004-2006 NAO participated in international collaboration with TUBITAK National Observatory (Turkey) and Kazan State University (Russia) in positional and photometric observations of small Solar system bodies. About four thousands of CCD images for 58 asteroids of 11-18 mag were obtained with internal and external errors of 30-80 mas of a single determination. Some of these observations, as well as the observations of the Minor Planet Center, are being used for the current asteroid mass determinations in Nikolaev observatory. Available results allow us to consider the Russian-Turkish telescope RTT150 as a good candidate for ground-based astrometry support of the future space mission GAIA, moreover in the period before GAIA.  相似文献

The CCD spectra taken with echelle spectrographs of the 2-m telescope of the Shemakha Astrophysical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the 1-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences are used to study the line profile variations in the spectrum of the hot supergiant 55Cyg. The variability of the radial velocity and profiles of the lines of heavy elements is shown to be due to radial pulsation type motions. The corresponding variations for He I lines are due to nonradial pulsations. In the case of the H β and H α lines the pattern and behavior of variations differ for different observing periods. The variability of these lines is mostly due to the photometric and positional variability of the absorption and emission components of their profiles. The profiles of these lines show additional emission components, which move from the blue toward the red line wing. Such a behavior is indicative of the clumpy structure of the stellar envelope.  相似文献

The results of the photometric observations of comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1 are analyzed. The comet demonstrates substantial activity at heliocentric distances larger than 5 AU, i.e., outside the water ice sublimation zone. The CCD images of the comet were obtained in wideband R filters at the 6-meter telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SAO RAS) and at the 2-meter Zeiss-2000 telescope of the Peak Terskol Observatory. The processing of the images with special digital filters allowed the active structures (jets) to be distinguished in the dust coma of the comet. With the cross-correlation method, the rotation period of the cometary nucleus was determined as 12.1 ± 1.2 and 11.7 ± 1.5 days for the observations taken in December 2008, and February 2009, respectively. The probable causes of the difference in the estimates of the rotation period of the cometary nucleus obtained by different authors are discussed.  相似文献

Calibration of the CCD camera of the 1m telescope at the Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur, to theB V R system is reported here based on the observations of stars in the ‘dipper asterism’ in the open cluster M 67 (NGC 2682). Transformations involvingB andV have negligible colour terms, while those involvingR are slightly colour dependent. The possibility of using scaled-downR band fluxes to estimate the continuum flux at Hα is investigated by comparing the counts inR band with those through an interference filter centred at Hα. The scaling factor is found to remain constant over a wide range of colours. The sensitivity of the telescope-filter-CCD combination is estimated to be 2.0 per cent, 8.3 per cent and 9.7 per cent inB, V andR bands, respectively. The star F117 appears to be a small-amplitude (∼ 0.05 mag) variable.  相似文献

The new spectroscopic observation of MV Sgr obtained at ESO in 1987 July shows enhanced emission lines of He I λ3889, [SII] λ4068 relative to the observations discussed by Jeffreyet al. (1988). The presence of [SII] λ4068 indicates the presence of planetary-nebulae-like envelope around the star. Although the radial velocity of the absorption lines and Fe II emission lines do agree with the velocity given by Jeffreyet al., the [SII] λ4068 and probably He I emission lines appear to behave differently. First CCD photometry is presented for the eclipsing binary VZ Trianguli, observed at the Sheshan Station of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory in 2008. Using the Wilson–Devinney Code, the photometric solution of VZ Tri was first deduced from the R-band observations. The results show that VZ Tri is an A-subtype late-type contact binary, with a mass ratio of q=0.350(±0.004) and a low contact degree of f=27.9%(±1.0%). Based on all available light minimum times covering over 40 years, it is found that the orbital period shows a long-term decrease at a rate of dP/dt=−1.52(±0.03)×10−7 d yr−1, suggesting that VZ Tri is undergoing mass transfer from the more massive component to the less massive component, accompanied with angular momentum loss. With period decreasing, the inner and outer critical Roche lobes will shrink, and then cause the contact degree to increase. Therefore, the weak-contact binary VZ Tri with decreasing period may evolve into a deep-contact configuration.  相似文献

The solar spectrum of wavelength 350–800 nm has been measured for the four seasons. The intensity of the solar radiation in W m-2 nm-1 has been calculated and used to estimate the monochromatic optical depth of Bahrain's sky. It was found that the optical depth (i.e., extinction coefficient,k) is least in winter and highest in summer. Comparison of the hourly variation of the optical depth between Bahrain's atmosphere and that of Dhahran (Saudi Arabia) shows that the abundance of small size particles in the former is more than in the latter. This causes more extinction effect in Bahrain than in Dhahran, especially in the wavelengths 350–525 nm. The relation betweenk and for each season in Bahrain is in the formk =A n , whereA is a constant andn is a negative integer, is reported in this study.  相似文献

We describe technical aspects of an astrometric and photometric survey of the North Celestial Cap (NCC), from the Pole (δ=90°) to δ=80°, in support of the TAUVEX mission. This region, at galactic latitudes from ∼17° to ∼37°, has poor coverage in modern CCD-based surveys. The observations are performed with the Wise Observatory one-meter reflector and with a new mosaic CCD camera (LAIWO) that images in the Johnson–Cousins R and I bands a one-square-degree field with sub-arcsec pixels. The images are treated using IRAF and SExtractor to produce a final catalogue of sources. The astrometry, based on the USNO-A2.0 catalogue, is good to ∼1 arcsec and the photometry is good to ∼0.1 mag for point sources brighter than R=20.0 or I=19.1 mag. The limiting magnitudes of the survey, defined at photometric errors smaller than 0.15 mag, are 20.6 mag (R) and 19.6 (I). We separate stars from non-stellar objects based on the object shapes in the R and I bands, attempting to reproduce the SDSS star/galaxy dichotomy. The completeness test indicates that the catalogue is complete to the limiting magnitudes.  相似文献
