Summary A complex of Precambrian chlorite-micaschists in the Moravian zone of the Bohemian massif contains up to 20 vol.% of fine grained magnetite and ilmenite. The rocks are characterized by high Fe, Ti and V contents (averages: 13 wt %, 1.6 wt% and 200 ppm), showing a strong positive correlation. SiO2 contents amount to 60 wt.%; together with relatively high K and low Ca and Mg values this is considered to be evidence for metapelites and -psammites. Relictic sedimentary layers of magnetite and chlorite, as well as relictic titano-magnetites were occasionally observed. Magnetite contains up to 0.5 wt.% V2O3 and Cr2O3 each, and up to 1.2 wt.% TiO2. Ilmenites show up to 5 wt.% MnO.The unusual bulk chemistry of the metasediments, the relictic layered structures and the composition of the magnetites (in relation to magnetites of different genesis) suggest a clastic sedimentary origin of the ore minerals, eroded probably from some basic magmatic complex. Hence a Precambrian black-sand is proposed as a precursor rock and compared with different blacksands known from the literature.

Zusammenfassung Eine Serie prdkambrischer Chlorit-Glimmerschiefer im Moravikum der Böhmischen Masse enthält bis zu 20 Vol.% feinkörnigen Magnetit und Ilmenit. Die Gesteine sind durch hohe Gehalte an Fe, Ti and V (durchschnittlich 13 Gew.%, 1.6 Gew.% und 200 ppm), die cine starke positive Korrelation untereinander aufweisen, charakterisiert. Die SiO2-Gehalte betragen 60 Gew.%; dies wird, gemeinsam mit relativ hohen K- und niedrigen Ca- und Mg-Werten, als Hinweis auf Metapelite und -psammite angesehen. Gelegentlich wurden reliktische Lagen von Magnetit und Chlorit, wie auch reliktische Titano-Magnetite beobachtet. Der Magnetit enthält bis zu jeweils 0.5 Gew.% V2O3 und Cr2O3, und bis zu t.2 Gew.% TiO, Die Ilmenite zeigen bis zu 5 Gew.% MnO.Die ungewöhnliche Gesamtzusammensetzung der Metasedimente, die reliktisch gebänderten Strukturen und die Zusammensetzung der Magnetite (verglichen mit Magnetiten verschiedenster Genese) legen einen klastisch-sedimentären Ursprung der, wahrscheinlich von einem basischen Magmatit abgetragenen, Erzminerale nahe. Folglich wird der Einfluß eines präkambrischen Blacksands im Ausgangsgestein vorgeschlagen und mit unterschiedlichen Blacksands aus der Literatur verglichen.

The geological inventory of the Variscan Bohemian Massif can be summarized as a result of Early Devonian subduction of the Saxothuringian ocean of unknown size underneath the eastern continental plate represented by the present-day Teplá-Barrandian and Moldanubian domains. During mid-Devonian, the Saxothuringian passive margin sequences and relics of Ordovician oceanic crust have been obducted over the Saxothuringian basement in conjunction with extrusion of the Teplá-Barrandian middle crust along the so-called Teplá suture zone. This event was connected with the development of the magmatic arc further east, together with a fore-arc basin on the Teplá-Barrandian crust. The back-arc region – the future Moldanubian zone – was affected by lithospheric thinning which marginally affected also the eastern Brunia continental crust. The subduction stage was followed by a collisional event caused by the arrival of the Saxothuringian continental crust that was associated with crustal thickening and the development of the orogenic root system in the magmatic arc and back-arc region of the orogen. The thickening was associated with depression of the Moho and the flux of the Saxothuringian felsic crust into the root area. Originally subhorizontal anisotropy in the root zone was subsequently folded by crustal-scale cusp folds in front of the Brunia backstop. During the Visean, the Brunia continent indented the thickened crustal root, resulting in the root's massive shortening causing vertical extrusion of the orogenic lower crust, which changed to a horizontal viscous channel flow of extruded lower crustal material in the mid- to supra-crustal levels. Hot orogenic lower crustal rocks were extruded: (1) in a narrow channel parallel to the former Teplá suture surface; (2) in the central part of the root zone in the form of large scale antiformal structure; and (3) in form of hot fold nappe over the Brunia promontory, where it produced Barrovian metamorphism and subsequent imbrications of its upper part. The extruded deeper parts of the orogenic root reached the surface, which soon thereafter resulted in the sedimentation of lower-crustal rocks pebbles in the thick foreland Culm basin on the stable part of the Brunia continent. Finally, during the Westfalian, the foreland Culm wedge was involved into imbricated nappe stack together with basement and orogenic channel flow nappes.  相似文献

The south-eastern Bohemian Massif consolidated during the Late Variscan orogeny by the oblique collision of two continental crustal blocks after closure of an oceanic realm. One microcontinent comprises portions which are now distributed among Moravian and Moldanubian units and which are characterized by Late Proterozoic tectonothermal events, especially by granitoid intrusions. The other microcontinent includes the Gföhl gneiss and granulites (Gföhl nappe) of probable Early Palaeozoic protolith ages. Both continental blocks are separated by an ophiolite-like assemblage, which is preserved in portions of the Raabs unit.Oblique crustal stacking is accompanied by north-eastward propagation of nappes in a dextral transpressive regime. Exhumation of previously thickened crust is achieved by equally oriented bulk extension but partitioned in distinct displacement paths. Climate change in Central Europe is manifested by periods of drought during the summer months of years when there is a reduction in atmospheric precipitation and temporary accumulation of water in the form of snow during winter period. The shallow sub-surface aquifer in crystalline rocks is very vulnerable to this decline in rainfall. Monitoring and subsequent model simulations revealed that the groundwater level in recharge areas had been lowered by almost 10 m, but the study also showed that levels in discharge areas are significantly more stable. The transmissivity of hard rock aquifers evidently shows changes in both space and time. The temperature rise results in increasing values of evapotranspiration that is manifested by a gentle but long-lasting groundwater-level decline.  相似文献

利用1∶20万区域化探水系沉积物测量资料,分析福建省前寒武纪变质岩块体的元素组合,对比了各地层小区前寒武纪变质岩地层(岩)组的地球化学特征,并对其时间演化规律进行了探讨。研究表明,表征福建省前寒武纪变质岩地球化学变化的主要元素组合为与岩浆作用有关的铁族元素和稀有、放射性元素。总体上从老到新SiO2/Al2O3比值逐渐升高,铁族元素和K2O含量逐渐降低,发现部分地层(岩)组的地球化学特征较为特殊,为今后该区变质岩研究提供了新的线索。  相似文献

A brief account is given of the main biostratigraphical conclusions resulting from the micropalaeontological study of the Bohemian Upper Proterozoic. The relatively rich microfossil material presently known from the Barrandian area enables comparison to be made both with Middle and Upper Brioverian microfossils of the West European Brioverian complex and also with those from the Upper Riphean and Vendian platform sediments. A correlation between the relatively close geographical areas of Bohemia, Lusatia and Saxony on the basis of microorganisms is evident. Biocommunities from siliceous rocks display algal-mat assemblages. Their features are very similar to those of biogenic rocks reported from other regions, especially Australia and North America. In the Moldanubian Supergroup, the ?eský Krumlov Formation, in which graphitized phytoclasts with anatomical structures of primitive land plants have recently been found, was examined. The question of the age of this formation remains open and its study is still in progress. The correlation of the sedimentary complex of the East Sudeten (the presumably Proterozoic Záb?eh Formation) with the Palaeozoic assemblage is possible due to the finds of Chitinozoa. Remains of megascopic algae were recently found in this assemblage, along with chilinozoan chambers. This association is highly specialized and comprises new taxa of higher Thallophytes.  相似文献

Concentrations of phosphorus have been determined in 130 specimens o regionally metamorphosed skarn rocks, including their enclosing rocks Average P2O5-values found were 0.11% in the pyroxene skarns from the Core of the Bohemian Massif and 0.07% in those of the Kruné hory Mountains, which correspond to those commonly present in primary, i.e. contact metamorphic skarns, but are quite different from the high P2O5-values usually found in sedimentary iron ores. The P-contents of the rocks from the cores of the skarn bodies studied equal those determined in relic carbonate rocks, from which they probably originated, whereas the P-contents of the rocks from the outer parts of the skarn bodies correspond to those found in the enclosing rocks. The distribution of P in migmatites surrounding the skarn bodies suggests that P did not migrate during the regional metamorphism, so that the P-contents in the skarns may be considered as primary (premetamorphic). Thus, a study of P-percentages in regionally metamorphosed skarns may be useful in the investigation of skarn genesis.
Zusammenfassung Die Phosphorgehalte von 130 Proben regionalmetamorpher Skarne, sowie ihrer Hüll- und Begleitgesteine wurden ermittelt. Der P-Durchschnittsgehalt der Pyroxenskarne beträgt im Kern der Böhmischen Masse 0,11%, im Erzgebirge 0,07%. Diese Gehalte entsprechen denjenigen kontaktmetamorpher Skarne, sind aber von den großen gewöhnlich in sedimentogenen Eisenerzen vorkommenden P-Gehalten verschieden. Die Phosphor-Gehalte der Skarngesteine aus den Kernpartien der Skarnkörper entsprechen denjenigen der reliktischen Carbonatgesteine, die die Skarne begleiten und auf deren Kosten sich die Pyroxenskarne wahrscheinlich entwickelt haben. Demgegenüber entsprechen die P-Gehalte der Gesteine aus den äußeren Partien der Skarnkörper denen der Hüllgesteine. Die Verteilung des Phosphors zwischen Metatekt und Paläosom in Migmatiten, die die Skarnkörper umhüllen, zeigt, daß Phosphor während der Regionalmetamorphose kaum migrierte. Seine Gehalte in Gesteinen lassen sich also für primär, d.h. prämetamorph halten. Wie ersichtlich, können Kenntnisse über die P-Verteilung zur Lösung der Fragen der Skarngenese beitragen.

The relationship between terrestrial heat flow and heat generation of rocks was examined in the region of Proterozoic crystalline schists (Crystalinicum) of the Bohemian Massif at 18 sites. It has been shown that it is not possible to fit a single straight line to the heat-flow—heat-generation plot for the whole area investigated. It is necessary to consider for different parts of the Bohemian Massif how the different values of the heat flow q0, originating at greater depths, influence the measured surface value q. In the paper it is explained that different values of q0 are not caused by different heat flow through the M-discontinuity but predominantly by the different fabric of the lower crust.  相似文献

Abstract

The tectonic contact between low-grade metase-dimentary series and high-grade rocks in the Hlinsko region (Bohemian Massif) is commonly interpreted as a thrust of the Barrandian sediments over the upper Moldanubian nappe.

The sediments occur in an E-facing synform that contains a tonalitic laccolith on its eastern boundary with the Moldanubian, and is truncated by a granodiorite pluton to the west. The synform represents a late deformational folding event related to the granodiorite intrusion. NW-oriented normal shear in the tonalite is indicated by S-C microstructures. Kinematic criteria associated with the major foliation and lineation development in the metasediments also indicate a north-westward, normal shear. In addition, Moldanubian gneiss display late shear bands due to north-westward, normal shear. Consequently, the presumed thrust is a low-angle, normal shear zone.

Low-pressure type metamorphism (3 < P < 4 x 102 MPa) coeval with the major deformational phase in pelites of the Hlinsko synform is attributed to both the tonalite aureole and the extensive HT metamorphism (under P > 6 x 102 MPa) that has affected the underlying Moldanubian.

The possibly polyphase normal fault is consistent with the meta-morphic pressure jump between the metasediments and the Moldanubian.

We suggest that the tonalite intruded syntectonically within the normal ductile shear zone active during waning stages of the Variscan orogeny.  相似文献

The Austrian portion of the Bohemian Massif is a Precambrian terrane composed mostly of highly metamorphosed rocks intruded by a series of granitoids that are petrographically similar. Rocks are exposed poorly and the subtle variations in rock type are difficult to map in the field. A detailed geochemical survey of stream sediments in this region has been conducted and included as part of the Geochemischer Atlas der Republik Österreich,and the variations in stream sediment composition may help refine the geological interpretation. In an earlier study, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was applied to the stream-sediment data in order to minimize unwanted sampling variation and emphasize relationships between stream sediments and rock types in sample catchment areas. The estimated coefficients were used successfully to correct for the sampling effects throughout most of the region, but also introduced an overcorrection in some areas that seems to result from consistent but subtle differences in composition of specific rock types. By expanding the model to include an additional factor reflecting the presence of a major tectonic unit, the Rohrbach block, the overcorrection is removed. This iterative process simultaneously refines both the geochemical map by removing extraneous variation and the geological map by suggesting a more detailed classification of rock types.  相似文献

U-Pb zircon and rutile multigrain ages and 207Pb/206Pb zircon evaporation ages are reported from high-pressure felsic and metapelitic granulites from northern Bohemia, Czech Republic. The granulites, in contrast to those from other occurrences in the Bohemian Massif, do not show evidence of successive HT/MPLP overprints. Multigrain size fractions of nearly spherical, multifaceted, metamorphic zircons from three samples are slightly discordant and yield a U-Pb Concordia intercept age of 348 ± 10 Ma, whereas single zircon evaporation of two samples resulted in 207Pb/206Pb ages of 339 ± 1.5 and 339 ± 1.4 Ma, respectively. A rutile fraction from one sample has a U-Pb Concordia intercept age of 346 ± 14 Ma. All ages are identical, within error, and a mean age of 342 ± 5 Ma was adopted to reflect the peak of HP metamorphism. Because rutile has a lower closing temperature for the U-Pb isotopic system than zircon, the results and the P-T data imply rapid uplift and cooling after peak metamorphism. The above age is identical to ages for high-grade metamorphism reported from the southern Bohemian Massif and the Granulite Massif in Saxony. It can be speculated that all these granulites were part of the same lower crustal unit in early Carboniferous, being separated later due to crustal stacking and subsequent late Variscan orogenic collapse.  相似文献

The new procedure of earthquake hazard evaluation developed by Kijko and Sellevoll is tested and applied for the border region of Czechoslovakia and Poland. The new method differs from the conventional approach. It incorporates the uncertainty of earthquake magnitudes, and accepts mixed data containing only large historical events and recent, complete catalogues. Seismic hazard has been calculated for nine regions determined in the border area. In the investigated area, data of historical catalogues are uncertain or, in many cases, the epicentral intensities are unknown. Thus, a number of assumptions have to be adopted in data preparation of catalogues since the year 1200. The calculated values of parameters b in the Gutenberg-Richter frequency-intensity relation as well as the return periods, seem to be reasonable and are generally confirmed by the results obtained from catalogues for the last 80–130 years.  相似文献

Summary In the Nebelstein area, molybdenite-bearing greisens occur together with peraluminous leucogranites. In the compositional change of the granites to the greisens, there is an almost complete loss of Na, combined with a decrease in Ca, Mg, Sr, and Ti concentrations. The progressive alteration is reflected by lower homogenization temperatures and increasing salinity in aqueous fluid inclusions. The fluid regime prior to greisenization was water-dominated with low salt contents, while the early stage of the greisen development was characterized by a mixed fluid containing carbon dioxide and water. This was succeeded by a moderate saline aqueous fluid which caused the mineralization by exchange of metal ions for Na+(Ca2+, K+). A negative correlation between salt content in fluid inclusions and Na2O concentrations in the bulk rocks supports this model. Mass balance calculations for this interaction yield a minimum fluid-rock ratio of approximately 2 : I. Greisenization took place at a minimum pressure of 180 MPa (1.8 kb) and in a temperature range between 200 and < 400 °C.

Zusammenfassung Die Molybdänglanz führenden Greisengesteine des Nebelsteins sind an peraluminöse Granite gebunden. Bei der Alteration der Granite ist für den Übergang Biotitgranit zu Greisen eine weitestgehende Verarmung an Na zu beobachten, gleichzeitig nehmen auch die Gehalte an Ca, Mg, Sr und Ti ab. Die fortschreitende Greisenbildung dokumentiert sich in den wäßrigen Flüssigkeitseinschlüssen durch steigende Salinität bei sinkenden Homogenisierungstemperaturen. Die fluide Phase war vor der Greisenbildung H2O dominiert und niedrig salinar. Der Beginn der Alterationsprozesse ist durch CO2 und H2O hältige Fluide gekennzeichnet. Danach folgt ein Anstieg der Salinität, der auf den Austausch von Metallchloridlösungen gegen Na+, K- und Ca2- zurückgeführt wird. Dies läßt sich durch eine negative Korrelation der Salinität in den Flüssigkeitseinschlüssen mit dem Na-Gehalt der Gesteine belegen. Daraus wurde die Volumsbeziehung der den Granit durchströmenden fluiden Phase relativ zum Gestein mit mindestens 2 : 1 abgeleitet. Die Mineralisation fand bei einem Minimaldruck von 1,8 kb in einem Temperaturbereich von 200 - < 400 °C statt.

Summary The tectonostratigraphy within eastern sections of the Bohemian Massif includes two different terranes. A Proterozoic terrane is composed of the Moravo-Silesian parautochthon, the Moravian nappe complex and the Moldanubian Variegated and Monotonous complexes. A Paleozoic terrane includes the Gföhl Gneiss and the granulite klippen. Both terranes are separated by an oceanic suture zone which is represented by the Letovice ophiolite complex (Czech Republic) and the Raabs complex in Austria. The Raabs structural unit is interpreted to represent a tectonic melange of a dismembered ophiolite complex and metaandesites.The tectonic evolution of the southeastern Bohemian Massif includes: (1) Paleozoic extension predating late Variscan nappe stacking; (2) Variscan (c. 350-320 Ma) NE-directed nappe assembly by foreward propagation of thick-skinned nappes, whereas individual thrusts initiated within different crustal levels; (3) post-stacking Variscan W-E extension which was responsible for penetrative nappe internal deformations; and, (4) dispersion of units by a system of dextral strike-slip faults and genetically related thrust- and normal faults. The kinematic history during Variscan convergence is explained to have been related to oblique (dextral) transpression of Proterozoic against Paleozoic terranes.
Geodynamische und tektonische Entwicklung der südöstlichen Böhmischen Masse: Das Thaya Profil (Österreich)
Zusammenfassung Eine Gliederung der südöstlichen Böhmischen Masse umfaßt zwei kontinentale Blöcke (Terranes). Das proterozoische Terrane besteht aus dem Moravo-Silesischen Parautochton, den Moravischen Decken und basalen Anteilen des Moldanubikums (Bunte Serie und Monotone Serie). Das paläozoische Terrane umfaßt den Moldanubischen Gföhler Gneis und die Granulitklippen. Beide Krustenblöcke werden durch eine ozeanische Sutur getrennt, die durch den Letovice-Ophiolith (Tschechien) und die Raabser Einheit (Österreich) repräsentiert ist. Die Raabser Einheit wird als eine tektonische Melange, bestehend aus einem Ophiolith und einer kalkalkalischen, andesitischen Suite gedeutet. Die tektonische Entwicklung läßt folgende Entwicklungsstufen erkennen: (1) Paläozoische Krustenextension vor der spätvariszischen Deckenstapelung; (2) Spätvariszische (ca. 350-320 Ma) nordostgerichtete Deckenstapelung, wobei jüngere Decken in Richtung des Vorlandes progradierten. Dabei wurden einzelne Deckenbahnen in unterschiedlichen Krustenniveaus betätigt; (3) Generelle West-Ost Extension und Entwicklung des penetrativen Gefüges nach der Deckenstapelung; (4) Verteilung der Einheiten durch gleichzeitige Aktivität von steilen nordost-streichenden Scherzonen und flachen Auf- und Abschiebungen. Die kinematische Entwicklung während der variszischen Gebirgsbildung ist auf schräge (dextrale) Plattenkonvergenz zwischen dem proterozoischen und dem paläozoischen Terrane zurückzuführen.

In the Moldanubicum (Bohemian Massif) of Austria a tungsten mineralization bound to calc-silicate rocks was discovered in the so-called Bunte Serie, a metasedimentary geologic unit now in amphibolite to higher amphibolite facies. The main constituents of the scheelite-bearing rocks are ferro-salite, meionite-rich scapolite, and quartz. The average tungsten content is estimated to be 1500 ppm; no further elements that would be characteristic for an exoskarn formation are enriched conspicuously. The whole series of calc-silicate rocks is intercalated in sillimanite gneisses. This series could be traced for about 5 km. The mineralization seems to be strata-bound — contacts with intrusive rocks were not observed. The field evidence is, therefore, easiest to reconcile with a synsedimentary origin, but the geology of the region is not known in sufficient detail to make this interpretation conclusive.
Zusammenfassung Im österreichischen Anteil des Moldanubikums (Böhmische Masse) wurde eine Wolframvererzung entdeckt. Sie ist an Kalksilikatgesteine der Bunten Serie gebunden, einer metamorph-sedimentären Einheit, die in Amphibolit- bis höherer Amphibolitfacies vorliegt. Die Hauptkomponenten dieser Scheelit-führenden Gesteine sind Ferrosalit, Mejonit-reicher Skapolith und Quarz. Der durchschnittliche Wolframgehalt liegt bei 1500 ppm; weitere Elemente, die für einen Exoskarn charakteristisch sein würden, sind nicht angereichert. Die gesamte Kalksilikatgesteinsserie ist Sillimanitgneisen eingelagert. Sie ist auf etwa 5 km im Streichen verfolgbar. Die Mineralisation erscheint schichtgebunden — Kontakte zu Intrusivgesteinen wurden nicht beobachtet. Der Feld-befund ist daher am einfachsten mit einer synsedimentären Entstehung in Einklang zu bringen. Die Geologie dieses Gebietes ist jedoch im Detail zu wenig bekannt, um diese Interpretation als zwingend darzustellen.

Summary The petrophysical parameters Density (p), Susceptibility (SUS), as well as Natural Remanent Magnetisation (NRM) and Koenigsberger ratio (Qn) were measured on approx. 2600 core samples (magmatic and a few metamorphic rocks) from the Southern Bohemian Massif. These and associated data have been organized into primary and subsidiary dBASE IV databases. The quantity and kind of information now available through the databases are described.40 sampled types of rocks have been statistically analysed and a detailed delimitation of different rocks as well as their varieties is attempted with the aid of various graphic software.The lowest susceptibility values (SUS < 0.1 × 10–3 SI) were measured for the leucocratic Altenberg and Haibach granites, above it for the acid Eisgarn granite and for aplites. The only fine grained granite with a higher average (M = l.32 × 10–3 SI) than the other granites is the Schlägl granite.Average values of NRM vary over a range of 104 mA/m. The Altenberg and Haibach granites (fine-to medium-grained, two-mica leucogranites) are again (see SUS) in the group with the lowest values (< 1 mA/m). The average values of coarse-grained, older synorogenic granites (Finger andHöck, 1986), Weinsberg and Engerwitzdorf (medium-to coarse grained) granites, Schlieren granite and Rastenberg granodiorite are generally uniform (< 5 mA/m), with the exception of the stronger remanent magnetism of the Schlieren granite (25 mA/m).The Qn, values of all investigated coarse grained granites are less than 0.25 (exception: Schlieren granite) whereas the fine-middle grained granites Peuerbach, Schaerding, Schrems and the fine grained granites in general all have Qn > 1.The densities of all studied granite types vary only from 2600 kg/m3 to the upper limit of 2710 kg/m3 (average of rock types). Therefore consideration of only one petrophysical parameter does frequently not suffise for characterisation of a rock type. However, a combined study of NRM-SUS or p-SUS proved to be useful in many cases e.g. petrophysical distinction between Schrems granite and Mauthausen granite.

Zusammenfassung Die petrophysikalischen Parameter Dichte (p), Suszeptibilität (SUS), sowie Natürliche Remanente Magnetisierung (NRM) und Königsberger Faktor (Qn) wurden an rund 2600 Bohrkernen (Magmatite und einige Metamorphite) aus der Böhmischen Masse ermittelt. Diese und damit im Zusammenhang stehende Daten wurden in einer dBASE IV Hauptdatenbank und gekoppelten Nebendatenbestanden organisiert. Es wird die Art von Information, die über die Datenbank nun zugänglich ist näher erläutert. 40 beprobte Gesteinstypen werden einer statistischen Analyse unterzogen und unter zu Hilfenahme diverser Graphiksoftware wird eine detailliertere Abgrenzung der einzelnen Gesteine und ihrer Varietaten versucht.Die geringsten Suszeptibilitätswerte (SUS < 0.1 × 10–3 SI) wurden an Proben der leukokraten Altenberger und Haibacher Granite, darüber hinaus auch an Kernen des sauren Eisgarner Granits und der Aplite gemessen. Der einzige feinkörnige Granit mit einem überdurchschnittlichen Mittelwert (M = 1.32 × 10–3 SI) im Vergleich zu anderen Graniten ist der Schlägl Granit.Die errechneten Mittelwerte der NRM streuen über einen Bereich von 104 mA/m. Der Altenberger und der Haibacher Granit (fein- bis mittelkörnige Zweiglimmergranite) weisen auch hier wieder die geringsten Werte (< 1 mA/m) auf. Die Gruppe der grobkörnigen, älteren synorogenen Granite (Finger undHöck, 1986), nämlich Weinsberger und Engerwitzdorfer (mittel- bis grobkörnig), Schlierengranit und Rastenberger Granodiorit bleiben mit ihren NRM Werten unter 5 mA/m mit Ausnahme des offensichtlich stärker remanent magnetisierten Schlierengranits (25 mA/m).Alle untersuchten grobkörnigen Granite weisen Qn Werte < 0.25 (Ausnahme: Schlierengranit) auf, während hingegen die fein- bis mittelkörnigen Peuerbacher, Schärdinger und Schremser Granit, sowie die Feinkorngranite im allgemeinen, alle Qn > 1 erreichen.Die Dichten der verschiedenen Granite variieren nur von 2600 kg/m3 bis 2710 kg/m3 (Gesteinsmittelwerte). Dies zeigt, daß die Betrachtung nur eines einzigen petrophysikalischen Parameters in vielen Fällen nicht alleine ausreicht um ein Gestein petrophysikalisch eindeutig zu bestimmen. Vielmehr stellte sich für eine Charakterisierung der Gesteine eine kombinierte Untersuchung von NRM-SUS oder p-SUS oft als zielführend heraus, wie z.B. im Falle des Schremser Granits und des Mauthausener Granits.

The entire pile of nappes in the eastern margin of the Bohemian massif is characterized by two stages of Variscan nappe emplacement each exhibiting a different kinematic and metamorphic evolution.The older emplacement (D1) probably occurred around 350-340 Ma ago and was synmetamorphic. The nappes show a typical systematic superposition of higher grade metamorphic units over lower grade ones. Thus, the crystalline complexes showing a HT-MP Barrovian imprint (Svratka allochthonous unit and Moldanubicum) were thrust over an intermediate unit affected by MTMP recrystallization (Bíte orthogneiss and its country rock), and at the base of the D1 nappe pile the Inner Phyllite Nappe (Biý Potok Unit) is characterized by LT/LP metamorphism.The second stage of tectonic evolution (D2) is characterized by a thin-skinned northward-oriented nappe emplacement that occurred under LT-LP conditions dated at 320-310 Ma. The whole nappe sequence formed during the first tectonometamorphic period (D1) was transported northward over the autochthonous »Deblín polymetamorphic and granitic complex« of Upper Proterozoic age and its Devonian sedimentary cover with very low metamorphism. During this second tectonic event the Brno granite massif (580 Ma) was only marginally incorporated in the Variscan nappe tectonics which resulted in kilometer-scale cover and basement duplexes. The tectonic evolution of the nappe pile ended with stage D3, represented by large- to medium-scale east-vergent folds with limited displacement.
Zusammenfassung Der Deckenbau am Ostrand der Böhmischen Masse erfolgte in zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Stadien, die sich sowohl in ihrer Kinematik als auch in ihrer Metamorphoseentwicklung deutlich voneinander unterschieden.Die ältere Phase (D1 ca. 350-340 Ma) ist durch synmetamorphe Überschiebungen charakterisiert. Sie führt zu einer metamorphen Inversion der überschobenen Deckeneinheiten, so daß generell hohe metamorphe Einheiten schwach metamorphe tektonisch überlagern. Der Svratka Komplex und das Moldanubikum als hangendste Decken sind durch MP/HT Paragenesen vom Barrow-Typ gekennzeichnet. Beide Einheiten sind auf den MP/MT-metamorphen Bite-Gneis und seine Rahmengesteine überschoben. Die Bílý potok Einheit als liegende Decke zeigt nur noch eine LP/ LT Regionalmetamorphose.Das jüngere Stadium (D2 ca. 320-310 Ma) ist durch eine Thin-skinned Tektonik mit nordvergentem Deckentransport unter LP/LT Bedingungen charakterisiert. Der gesamte, invers metamorphe D1-Deckenstapel wird dabei nach N über den autochtonen Deblín Komplex bzw. seine devonische Sedimenthülle überschoben.Das Brno Granit Massiv (580 Ma) wird nur randlich in diesen variszischen Deckenbau einbezogen. Die tektonische Entwicklung endet mit einem mittel bis großräumigen E-vergenten Faltenbau (D3 phase).

Résumé L'empilement des nappes a la bordure orientale du Massif de Bohème est caractérisé par deux stades de mise en place présentant différentes évolutions cinématiques et métamorphiques.La tectonique majeure de mise en place des nappes crustales intervient lors d'un métamorphisme de type barrowien, calé autour de 350-340 Ma. L'empilement qui en résulte montre une superposition systématique d'unités à fort degré de métamorphisme sur des unités moins métamorphiques. Ainsi les complexes cristallins, montrant des reliques de métamorphisme de haute à moyenne pression-haute température (unités cristallines de Svratka et du Moldanubien), chevauchent une unité intermédiaire affectée par un métamorphisme de moyenne à basse pression-moyenne température (l'orthogneiss de Bíte et son encaissant). A la base de cette pile édifiée durant la tectonique D1, l'unité des phyllites internes (unité de Bílý potok) est caractérisée par un métamorphisme de basse témperature-basse pression.Le second stade D2 de l'évolution tectonique est caractérisé par une tectonique pelliculaire à vergence nord datée à 320-310 Ma. L'empilement résultant de D1 est ainsi transporté vers le nord, au dessus du complexe autochtone d'âge protérozoïque supérieur (groupe de Deblín) et sa couverture sédimentaire dévonienne très faiblement métamorphisée.Le massif granitique de Brno (580 Ma) n'est que marginalement incorporé à cette tectonique de nappe varisque. Ceci se traduit par des duplex socle-couverture d'échelle plurikilométrique. L'évolution tectonique s'achève lors d'une troisième phase, marquée par de grands plis à vergence est. Le déplacement associé est alors d'amplitude limitée.

The Variscan orogenic belt, of which the Bohemian Massif is a part, is typically recognized for its characteristic low pressure, high temperature metamorphism and a large volume of granites. However, there are also bodies of high pressure rocks (eclogites, garnet peridotites and high pressure granulites) which are small in size but widely distributed throughtout the Massif. Initially the high pressure rocks were considered to be relicts of a much older orogenic event, but the increasing data derived from isotopic and geochronological investigations show that many of these rocks have Palaeozoic protoliths. Metamorphic ages from the high pressure rocks define no single event. Instead, a number of discrete clusters of ages are found between about 430 Ma and the time of the dominant low pressure event at around 320–330 Ma.Most of the eclogite and granulite facies rocks are assigned to allochthonous nappes that arrived close to the end of the low pressure event, but before final granite intrusion. The nappes contain a mixture of different units and the relationship between rocks with high pressure relicts and host gneisses with no apparent signs of deep burial is still problematic. Some of the high pressure rocks retain evidence of multiple stages of partial re-equilibration during uplift. Moreover, it can be shown in certain instances that host gneisses also endured a multistage metamorphic development but with a peak event convergent with one of the breakdown stages in the enclosed rocks with high pressure relicts. It thus appears that the nappe units are composite bodies probably formed during episodic intracrustal thrusting. Fluids derived from prograde dehydration reactions in the newly under thrusting slab are taken to be the catalysts that drove the partial re-equilibrations.On the scale of the whole Massif it can be seen within the units with high pressure relicts that the temperature at the peak recorded pressure and that during the breakdown are variable in different locations. It is interpreted that regional metamorphic gradients are preserved for given stages in the history and thus the present day dismembered nappe relicts are not too far removed from their original spatial distribution in an original coherent unit. From the temperature information alone it is highly probable that the refrigerating underthrusting slab was situated in the north-west. However, this north-west to south-east underthrusting probably represents the major 380–370 Ma event and is no guide to the final thrusting that emplaced the much thinned nappe pile with high pressure relicts.Granite genesis is attributed to the late stage stacking, during the final Himalayan-type collision stage, of thinned crust covered by young, water-rich, sediments — erosion products of the earlier orogenic stages. Regional metamorphism at shallow depths above the voluminous granites was followed by final nappe emplacement which rejuvenated the granite ascent in places. Correspondence to: P. J.
