对厄尔尼诺事件进行了定义,并详细讨论了不同气候背景下的厄尔尼诺过程对中国东部地区汛期降水的影响。分析发现:20世纪50年代以来共发生了14次厄尔尼诺事件;在70年代末、80年代初,赤道太平洋的海温有一个明显升高的趋势;不同气候背景下的厄尔尼诺过程中对中国东部汛期降水存在不同的影响,但是对长江中下游及江淮地区降水的影响是一致的,一般偏少。  相似文献

In this study,the monthly and seasonal teleconnection intensity indices of the Pacific/North American(PNA),Western Atlantic(WA),Western Pacific(WP),Eastern Atlantic(EA) and Eurasian(EU) patterns for the period from 1951 through 1990 are calculated.On this basis,their climatic variations and the relationship between the five teleconnection intensity indices and the El Nino events are examined.It is noted that when El Nino is at its mature stage(winter),the weak WP pattern is mainly characteristic of the circulation and the strong PNA pattern is the next.In summer when El Nino occurs and develops,the strong EU,weak WP and weak WA patterns are the main characteristics without the PNA circulation anomalies.Finally,by the nonlinear mapping method a nonlinear mapping diagram is established for diagnosing El Nino using three summer teleeonuection intensity indices and May and August Southern Oscillation Indices(SOIs).Thus,the El Nino phenomenon occurring in 1991 is diagnosed.Besides,the winter atmospheric circulation of the 1991/1992 El Nino is found to be the weak WP pattern and the PNA pattern is also weak.  相似文献

The normal mode method is adopted to decompose the differences between simulations with SST(seasurface temperature)anomahes over centra-eastern Pacific and normal SST by use of a nine-layer global spec-tral model in order to investigate short-range climatic oscillation with various time scales forced by ElNino during the northern summer.Investigation shows that El Nino may have the following influence onatmosphere on various space-time scales.Extra-long wave components of Rossby mode forced by convectiveanomaly over equatorial western Pacific resulting from El Nino produce climatic oscillation on monthly(sea-sonal)time scale in middle-high latitudes of Southern and Northern Hemispheres;extra-long wave componentsof Kelvin mode forced by SST anomalies propagate along the equator,resulting in 30—60 day oscillation oftropical and subtropical atmosphere;and its long waves move eastward with westerly,resulting in quasi-biweekoscillation.  相似文献

Indices of El Nino and El Nino Modoki: An Improved El Nino Modoki Index   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In recent years, El Nino Modoki (pseudo-El Nino) has been distinguished as a unique large-scale ocean warming phenomenon happening in the central tropical Pacific that is quite different from the traditional El Nino. Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) analysis is used to successfully separate El Nino and El Nino Modoki. The abilities of the NINO3 index, NINO3.4 index, NINO1+2 index and NINO4 index in characterizing the El Nino are explored in detail. It is suggested that the NINO3 index is comparatively optimal to monitor the El Nino among the four NINO indices, since other NINO indices either cannot well distinguish El Nino and El Nino Modoki signals or are easily disturbed by El Nino Modoki signals. Further, an improved El Nino Modoki index (IEMI) is introduced to better represent the El Nino Modoki that is captured by the second leading EOF mode of monthly tropical Pacific sea surface temperature anomalies (SSTA). The IEMI is an improvement of the El Nino Modoki index (EMI) through adjusting the inappropriate weight coefficients of the three boxes of EMI, and it effectively overcomes the lack of EMI in monitoring the two historical El Nino Modoki events and also avoids the possible risk of EMI in excluding the interference of El Nino signal, indicating the realistic and potential advantages.  相似文献

Using a nine-layer global spectral model, numerical schemes with two different SST distributions in January(control case and abnormal case) have been tested to study the climatic effect, propagation charateristics and the maintenance mechanism of the short-term climatic oscillation caused by El Nino during northern winter. The main results are as follows:(1) During northern winter, there exist two wave trains because of the influence of El Nino. One is similar to PNA pattern, and the other is similar to EUP pattern.(2) The PNA-like wave train caused by the anomalous SST forcing in central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean is due to the response of ultralong wave and long wave components of Rossby mode, and the EUP-like wave traincrossing Eurasia is mainly due to the wave component of Rossby mode.(3) During northern winter, the warm water region in central equatorial Pacific Ocean is the source of forced wave trains.(4) In northern winter,the energy source for maintaining the short-term climatic oscillation is from the interaction between eddies, and between eddy and zonal flow.  相似文献

根据El Nino事件中正的海表面温度异常(sea surface temperature anomaly,简称SSTA)首先出现的区域及其传播特征,将El Nino事件分成3种类型,即东部型、西部型和驻波型.为了研究不同类型El Nino事件物理机制的差异,首先利用高分辨率全球海洋环流模式OPA9,对这3种不同类型的El Nino事件进行模拟.在逐月海表面风应力和热通量的驱动下,模式模拟出了1950-2005年问全球海温演变.模拟结果表明,模式可以很好地模拟出海洋的气候态,并且对El Nino事件期间的正SSTA首先出现的区域以及对正SSTA的传播特征都做出了很好的模拟,成功地模拟了不同El Nino事件的发展类型.  相似文献

In this paper,by using spectral method,the monthly-and seasonal-scale atmospheric diabatic heat flow(ADHF)departure fields are diagnosed in the period of 1964—1985 with 6 El Nino years and 6 anti-El Nino years over theNorthern hemisphere(NH).The results show that El Nino phenomena have pronounced influence on the ADHF depar-ture fields.The response of atmosphere exhibits a preferred arrangement of organizing positive and negative departurecenters at low,middle and high latitudes.In anti-El Nino years,the response has the same forms as in El Nino years,but departure centers are opposite in phase.Furthermore,ADHF departure shows low-frequency oscillation in El Ninoyears and anti-El Nino years.The center of difference in departure between El Nino and anti-El Nino years displays abi-monthly oscillation.Finally,through air-sea correlation analysis,it is pointed out that the SST anomaly is the most important cause forADHF anomaly.  相似文献

According to me lime cross-section or SSI in me equatorial eastern racing and me historical data on typhoon actions over the western Pacific (including the South China Sea), a composite analysis of the actions of typhoon over the western Pacific in El Nino year (SST in the equatorial eastern Pacific are continuously higher than normal) and in the inverse El Nino year (there are continuative negative anomalies of SST in the equatorial eastern Pacific) is carried out. The results show that the actions of typhoon are in close relation with El Nino: The annual average number of typhoons over the western Pacific and South China Sea is less than normal in El Nino year and more in the inverse El Nino year; The annual average number of the landing typhoon on the continent of China bears the same relationship with El Nino; The anomalies of typhoon actions mainly occur during July-November and their starting are behind the anomaly of SST in the equatorial eastern Pacific.Based on the generation and development co  相似文献

本文进行的多年历史资料的分析表明,中国东部地区的气温异常同El Nino事件有密切的关系 在El Nino年夏季中国东北及附近地区气温多比常年偏低,而在反El Nino年夏季那里气温多出现高温异常。在El Nino年冬季,中国东部广大地区气温比常年偏高:反El Nino年冬季,中国东部广大地区气温比常年编低。中国东部地区的温度异常同El Nino所造成的大气环流异常的关系,本文亦作了分析研究。 中国东部地区冬半年气温的持续编低同El Nino事件的发生有密切关系,表明东亚地区持续的强高空槽活动(寒潮活动)可能是El Nino事件发生的重要触发机制。   相似文献

Based on a series of data analyses, the intimate relations between anomalous winter monsoon in East Asia and El Nino are studied in this paper.Anomalistic circulation in the Northern Hemisphere caused by El Nino event can lead to enhancing the Ferrel cell and the westerlies in the mid-latitudes as the Hadley cell and result in the location of the front zone in East Asia to the north. These are unfavourable for the cold wave breaking out southward in East Asia. Therefore, there are warmer weather and weaker winter monsoon in East Asia in El Nino winter.There are stronger and frequent cold waves in East Asia during the wintertime prior to the occurrence of El Nino event. They will induce stronger winter monsoon in East Asia. Thus, the weakened trade wind and enhanced cumulus convection in the equatorial middle-western Pacific area caused by the stronger winter monsoon will play an impor-tant role in the occurrence of El Nino event. Therefore, the anomalously strong winter monsoon in East Asia during wintertime might be an important mechanism to cause El Nino event.  相似文献

利用近50a的美国Maryland大学全球海洋同化分析资料和NCEP全球大气再分析资料,分析了与ElNino相联系的热带太平洋有效位能(APE)的时空演变过程,从有效位能变化角度揭示了50年来ElNino的年代际变化特征。结果表明,热带太平洋ElNino年代际变化特征主要表现为在20世纪70年代末期以前与其后的显著不同。在有效位能异常变化的振幅和频率方面,20世纪70年代末期以后,振荡的振幅显著增,大直频率变慢。在有效位能异常变化的振幅和频率方面,70年代末期以前,ElNino事件的先兆是有效位能先在热带西太平洋异常积累,然后这些积累的有效位能沿赤道快速向东传播并释放能量,使得东太平洋出现能量的异常,东太平洋的有效位能减少,产生ElNino事件;70年代末期以后,ElNino事件的建立没有表现异常的有效位能在热带西太平洋的积累,其建立表现为赤道中太平洋直接出现的局地有效位能的异常,然后表现为不稳定海气耦合模态增幅性地缓慢向东传播,使得东太平洋的有效位能减少,发生ElNino事件。  相似文献

本文分析了1971—80年发生在南美洲西海岸的EI Nino现象及其对东亚夏季风环流的影响。结果表明,1972和1976年为强的EI Nino年,而1971和1974年为显著的反EI Nino年。还指出,1—6月份南美西海岸的海温与7月份我国东部大部分地区夏季风呈负相关.在EI Nino年,主要环流的特征为:(1)西太平洋副热带高压脊线偏北,强度偏弱.(2)澳大利亚高压位置偏南。(3)赤道缓冲脊强大.ITCZ东伸到太平洋中部。南半球的信风在105°E附近越过赤道之后,于10°N折向东去,流入西太平洋.(4)印度次大陆季风中断.孟湾西南季风直接影响我国东部地区的分量极其有限,在反EI Nino年,上述各系统特征完全相反.我们认为,EI Nino现象的发生,引起夏季风环流系统的变动,最终影响到我国夏季风的强度,这是二者之间遥相关的一种可能过程.   相似文献

利用我国近500年旱涝等级资料和公元1500年以来的El Nino事件的记录,用合成分析方法,讨论El Nino事件的有关年份,中国东部夏季降水的空间分析特征。对1500—1990年间101例El Nino事件所作的El Nino当年的旱涝等级合成图表明:多雨地带在东北、黄淮地区和广东沿海,而干旱少雨地带在内蒙—甘肃和长江中下游地区;这101例El Nino事件结束后的第一个非El Nino年的合成图,则表明其旱涝分布型几乎正好与El Nino当年的相反。1951—1990年间的9例El Nino事件当年  相似文献

The interaction between anomalous winter monsoon in East Asia and El Nino is further studied in this paper.The new results still more proved a previous conclusion:there are clear interactions between El Nino and winter monsoon in East Asia.The continual westerly burst andstronger cumulus convection over the equatorial central-western Pacific caused by stronger wintermonsoon in East Asia can respectively excite anomalous oceanic Kelvin wave and stronger atmospheric intraseasonal oscillation in the tropics,then excite the El Nino event through air-sea interction.In El Nino winter,there are warmer and weaker winter monsoons in East Asia.The El Nino will still reduce the intensity of intraseasonal oscillation and leads it to be barotropic structure.  相似文献
