This is the first study on Pb stable isotopes in fault gouges and their parent rocks. We analyzed the composition of Pb isotopes and contents of U and Pb in 10 pairs of fault gouges and their parent rocks collected along several active faults in central Japan. Thorium-232-208Pb ages of two fault systems were determined as pre-Tertiary, which are consistent with the data from KAr ages and geological considerations.Naturally, the235U207Pb system is of little use for dating because the magnitude of difference in207Pb/204Pb between gouges and parent rocks is too small. It is found that the206Pb/204Pb can indicate the contribution of206Pb resulting from excess supplies of226Ra and222Rn along the fault. The excess206Pb accumulation rate corresponds to the average222Rn concentration in soil gas or groundwater through geological time since the gouge formation. A comparison of Quaternary fault activity and estimated Tertiary activity reveals the characteristics of each fault system.  相似文献

Lead isotopic compositions, and lead and uranium concentrations have been determined for samples from the Tongan islands of Late, Fonualei, Hunga-Ha'apai and Eua and for the Kermadec islands of Raoul, Macauley, Esperance and Napier. The Kermadec samples form a linear array in a Pb206/Pb204 vs Pb207/Pb204 plot which if interpreted in terms of a two stage mantle model indicates a mantle fractionation of Pb from U at about 1.2×109 yr. The Tongan volcanics, except Eua, have a very narrow range of isotopic compositions, only slightly exceeding the experimental error limits. This is interpreted to be the result of efficient mixing of the mantle in response to rapid extension behind the Tongan arc. The rate of extension appears to determine whether convection mixing can occur, since the sub-Kermadec mantle which experienced slower extension is not well mixed isotopically. The isotopic compositions show no evidence for a component in the magma derived from sediments dragged down the Benioff zone. The pre-Eocene Eua volcanics have lead which is substantially more radiogenic than the younger Tongan volcanics and are interpreted as a sample of the mantle before convective mixing occurred.  相似文献

The Storø greenstone belt, southern West Greenland, consists of thrust-imbricated slices of Mesoarchean (>3060 Ma) and Neoarchean (ca. 2800 Ma) mafic to ultramafic volcanic rocks, volcaniclastic sediments, and gabbro–anorthosite associations. The belt underwent polyphase metamorphism at upper amphibolite facies conditions between 2650 and 2600 Ma. The contacts between the Mesoarchean and Neoarchean volcanic rocks, and surrounding Eoarchean to Neoarchean tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite (TTG) gneisses are tectonic and typically bounded by high-grade mylonites. Regardless of age, the volcanic rocks are dominated by mafic amphibolites with a tholeiitic basalt composition, near-flat to slightly enriched light rare earth element (LREE) patterns (La/Smcn = 0.91–1.48), relatively flat to slightly depleted heavy-REE (HREE) (Gd/Ybcn = 1.0–1.28), and pronounced negative Nb–Ta anomalies (Nb/Nb* = 0.34–0.73) on chondrite- and primitive mantle-normalized diagrams. These geochemical characteristics are consistent with subduction zone geochemical signatures and partial melting of a shallow (<80 km) mantle source free of residual garnet. There is no geochemical evidence for contamination by older continental crust. The overall field and geochemical characteristics suggest that the thrust-imbricated basaltic rocks were erupted in intra-oceanic subduction zone settings. Sedimentary rocks are represented by garnet–biotite and quartzitic gneisses. They are characterized by relatively high contents of transition metal (Ni = 10–154 ppm; Cr = 7–166 ppm) and enriched LREE patterns (La/Smcn = 1.38–3.79). These geochemical characteristics suggest that the sedimentary rocks were derived from erosion of felsic to mafic igneous source rocks. Collectively, the structural and lithogeochemical characteristics of the Storø greenstone belt are consistent with collision (accretion) of unrelated Archean volcanic rocks formed in supra-subduction zone geodynamic settings. Accordingly, the Mesoarchean and Neoarchean rock record of the Storø greenstone belt may well be explained in terms of modern-style plate tectonic processes.  相似文献

The relation between aluminum and titanium in the course of bauxite formation is one of the key problems in deciphering the genesis of bauxitic rocks, particularly those occurring in geosynclinal areas. The source of aluminum and titanium in marine geosynclinal bauxites is related directly to the effects of volcanism. Ultra-acidic thermal waters may extensively leach volcanic rocks, resulting in the removal and migration of large amounts of aluminum in solution. These solutions are extremely stable, even when diluted by surface waters, and move to the sea without losing aluminum by precipitation. Primary titanium minerals are also decomposed and displaced in hydrothermally-altered rocks. Titanium is removed primarily as colloidal titanium hydroxide. Aluminum in solution and titanium in the form of colloidal titanium hydroxide films are carried to the sea in acid streams. As the acid streams are neutralized upon mixing with sea water, aluminum forms an amorphous colloidal hydroxide that coagulates and crystallizes. Titanium is extracted by its co-precipitation with aluminum hydroxide by a sorption mechanism. The migration and co-precipitation of these elements in the manner outlined is believed to be responsible for the formation of geosynclinal bauxite deposits in volcanic areas of island arcs. — R.D. 东坪式金矿床产于华北克拉通化缘深大断裂--尚义-赤城断裂的南侧,海西期水泉沟正长岩杂岩体内外接触带。矿体具有明显的分层笥,自上而下矿石类型由石英脉型向钾、硅化蚀变岩型过渡。矿床形成于燕山早期,成矿物质主要来源于正长岩杂岩体。矿石铅同位素组成与正长岩杂岩体相似,在^207Pb/^206Pb-^208Pb/^206Pb图解上,矿石、正长岩、矿石中的钾长石脉石及太古宇桑干群变质岩呈线性分布,矿石与正长岩  相似文献

本文在北部湾内一对姊妹火山岛即涠洲岛及斜阳岛火山地质研究基础上,进一步开展火山岩微量元素和Sr-Nd-Pb同位素,以及地幔橄榄岩Re-Os同位素地球化学研究.岛上早晚两期火山岩均为碱性玄武岩,分别属于碱性橄榄玄武岩和碧玄岩.碧玄岩为玻基斑状结构,舍地幔橄榄岩碎块(一般<1cm),表明为地幔岩浆快速喷出地表冷凝而成,岩浆上升过程中极少演化.火山岩微量元素和Sr-Nd-Pb同位素资料表明,涠洲岛及斜阳岛玄武岩与雷琼及北部湾周边、南海海盆玄武岩类似,具有亏损地幔的Sr、Nd同位素组成与Pb同位素显示的EMII富集地幔特征的Dupal异常,表明岩浆并非来自单一地幔源区,不可与OIB或MORB源区简单类比,也非地幔柱成因,而是由两个不同的地球化学组分混合而成.Re-OS同位素特征也指示地幔橄榄岩捕虏体来源于亏损的岩石圈地幔,而非核幔边界.推测涠洲岛及斜阳岛与雷琼及北部湾周边的岩浆可能是由于南海扩张后大陆裂解-软流圈地幔热物质上涌,与上覆薄而年轻的岩石圈地幔相互作用的产物.  相似文献

The Carboniferous volcanic rocks in western Hainan Island consist of a series of oceanic tholeite and rhyoporphyrite,showing bimodal nature.Similar geochemical characters,in terms of abun-daces and relative rations of incompatible elements and REE and the REE patterns,between the basalt and continental rift-associated tholeiite indicate the occurrence of Late Paleozoic rifting in the area.The basaltic magma,with a low degree of evolution,was originated from deep mantle,show-ing contamination by low crustal material.The rhyolite is thought to be formed from partial melting of the continental crust by higher thermal flow in a rift environment rather than from fractional crystallization of a basaltic magma.  相似文献

朝山金矿床位于铜陵市东郊狮子山矿田内。除了自然金之外,矿床中金主要以晶格金方式赋存于磁黄铁矿、黄铁矿和毒砂等矿石矿物之中;各种类型矿石成矿元素研究表明,含金磁黄铁矿石中金含量最高,其他依次为含金磁黄铁矿—黄铁矿矿石、含金黄铁矿化大理岩、含金矽卡岩、含金黄铁矿矿石等;硫同位素分析显示矿石硫主要来自深源或幔源硫,但在上升过程中遭受到地壳物质混染。在上述研究基础上,综合前人研究成果及朝山金矿地质特征,表明朝山金矿床属于热液交代型金矿床,形成时代为燕山中晚期。  相似文献

元素La和Ce同属低活动性的稀土元素,能够对碎屑岩物源进行示踪。但目前尚缺乏对碎屑岩LaCe同位素体系的研究。本文以峡东泗溪南华纪—震旦纪碎屑岩为研究对象,进行了Ce同位素组成分析。结果显示:这些碎屑岩的138 Ce/142 Ce比值为0.022 583 2~0.022 587 8,εCe(t)值变化于1.06~6.13,整体上呈逐渐升高的演化特征,并与εNd(t)值呈耦合关系。结合碎屑岩Nd同位素分析结果认为,峡东南华纪—震旦纪碎屑岩的主要来源,以古元古代—中元古代甚至更老的地壳岩石为主,并存在幔源初生地壳物质加入。  相似文献

通过1∶5万区域地质调查,对祁连山哈拉湖地区火山岩进行了野外地质、岩石学、锆石U-Pb同位素年龄、地球化学等研究。LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb同位素定年结果显示,该火山岩年龄为466.3±2.4Ma(n=9,MSWD=1.4),形成于中奥陶世。岩石地球化学研究表明,哈拉湖地区火山岩为低钾拉斑玄武系列,绝大多数样品的亲石元素Rb、Th、U、Ce、Zr、Nd和稀土元素La、Sm富集明显;高场强元素(Sr、P、Ti)强烈亏损,Zr、Hf微弱富集,Ba明显亏损。总的特征显示,少数火山岩具有过渡型洋脊玄武岩的特征,大多数火山岩样品显示岛弧火山岩的特征。此外,哈拉湖地区的岛弧火山岩与晚奥陶世的岛弧花岗岩伴生在一起。这些特征表明,与俯冲有关的奥陶纪岛弧岩石可能与拉脊山地区古大洋的闭合有关。  相似文献

笔者报道了东天山觉罗塔格构造带中企鹅山群、雅满苏组火山岩和土屋铜矿的斜长花岗斑岩及铜矿石的铅同位素组成,进一步讨论了该成矿带的构造演化。企鹅山群火山岩的铅同位素位于地球演化线的右侧,与北半球铅同位素演化线相比,具有弱富集的特征。斜长花岗斑岩及铜矿石的铅同位素分布在企鹅山群范围之内,与之相似。雅满苏组比企鹅山群富放射成因铅,也具有弱富集的特征。在铅构造模式图解中,企鹅山群位于地幔演化线上,雅满苏组位于造山带演化线附近。雅满苏组的铅同位素具有线性排列特征,位于企鹅山群和中天山花岗岩之间,指示两端员混合的趋势。企鹅山群和雅满苏组火山岩都随着流体交代作用的加强,越来越贫放射成因铅,指示交代地幔楔的流体应主要来自蚀变洋壳,而没有泥质沉积物的参与。雅满苏组比企鹅山群富放射成因铅主要是由于其陆壳基底厚度较大,较强的陆壳混染造成的。  相似文献

江西省铅山县中二叠统车头组硅质岩内见夹多层凝灰岩。通过研究该凝灰岩锆石U-Pb年龄及Lu-Hf同位素组成特征,探讨该区海底火山喷流活动的时间、成岩环境及成岩物源。凝灰岩的LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb加权平均年龄为264.8±4.4Ma,表明其形成环境为大陆边缘拉张性台盆环境,作为直接地质证据说明这一时期存在海底火山喷发活动。凝灰岩的Lu-Hf同位素二阶段模式年龄为1170~1670Ma(平均值1320 Ma),为中元古代,代表了成岩物源可能与区域性地壳重熔增生有关。  相似文献

We report analyses of noble gases and Nd–Sr isotopes in mineral separates and whole rocks of late Pleistocene (< 0.2 Ma) monzonites from Ulleungdo, South Korea, a volcanic island within the back arc basin of the Japan island arc. A Rb–Sr mineral isochron age for the monzonites is 0.12 ± 0.01 Ma. K–Ar biotite ages from the same samples gave relatively concordant ages of 0.19 ± 0.01and 0.22 ± 0.01 Ma. 40Ar/39Ar yields a similar age of 0.29 ± 0.09 Ma. Geochemical characteristics of the felsic plutonic rocks, which are silica oversaturated alkali felsic rocks (av., 12.5 wt% in K2O + Na2O), are similar to those of 30 alkali volcanics from Ulleungdo in terms of concentrations of major, trace and REE elements. The initial Nd–Sr isotopic ratios of the monzonites (87Sr/86Sr = 0.70454–0.71264, 143Nd/144Nd = 0.512528–0.512577) are comparable with those of the alkali volcanics (87Sr/86Sr = 0.70466–0.70892, 143Nd/144Nd = 0.512521–0.512615) erupted in Stage 3 of Ulleungdo volcanism (0.24–0.47 Ma). The high initial 87Sr/86Sr values of the monzonites imply that seawater and crustally contaminated pre-existing trachytes may have been melted or assimilated during differentiation of the alkali basaltic magma.A mantle helium component (3He/4He ratio of up to 6.5 RA) associated with excess argon was found in the monzonites. Feldspar and biotite have preferentially lost helium during slow cooling at depth and/or during their transportation to the surface in a hot host magma. The source magma noble gas isotopic features are well preserved in fluid inclusions in hornblende, and indicate that the magma may be directly derived from subcontinental lithospheric mantle metasomatized by an ancient subduction process, or may have formed as a mixture of MORB-like mantle and crustal components. The radiometric ages, geochemical and Nd–Sr isotopic signatures of the Ulleungdo monzonites as well as the presence of mantle-derived helium and argon, suggests that these felsic plutonic rocks evolved from alkali basaltic magma that formed by partial melting of subcontinental lithospheric mantle beneath the back arc basin located along the active continental margin of the southeastern part of the Eurasian plate.  相似文献

Boron samples from 40 fumarolic condensates from volcanoes in the Ryukyu arc (Satsuma Iwo-jima and Shiratori Iwo-yama) and the North-east Japan arc (Usu-shinzan, Showa-shinzan, Esan and Issaikyo-yama) all have 11B10B ratios close to 4.07. Higher values, from 4.09 to 4.13, were only observed in condensates from volcanoes in the southernmost end of the North-east Japan arc (Nasu-dake), the northern part of the Izu-Bonin arc (Hakone), and the North Mariana arc (Ogasawara Iwo-jima). These higher values suggest geological interaction of the magmas with sea-water enriched in 11B.  相似文献

Twelve whole-rock samples of volcanic rocks and a composite of 11 basanitoid samples from Ross Island and vicinity, Antarctica show a narrow range of 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.70305 to 0.70339. This range is consistent with a model of differentiation from a single parent magma, but the data allow a 30% variation in the 87Rb/86Sr ratio in the source region if the average ratio is less than 0.057 and if the source region has existed as a closed system for 1.5 b.y. Megacrysts of titaniferous augite, kaersutite, and anorthoclase are isotopically indistinguishable from the host volcanic rocks and therefore are probably cogenetic with the volcanic sequence. A single trachyte sample is isotopically distinct from the rest of the volcanic rocks and probably was contaminated with crustal strontium.Ultramafic and mafic nodules found in association with basanitoids and trachybasalts have 87Sr/86Sr ratios ranging from 0.70275 to 0.70575. Several of these nodules exhibit evidence of reaction with the melt and are isotopically indistinguishable from their hosts, but data for seven granulite-facies nodules show an apparent isochronal relationship. Although this isochron may be fortuitous, the resulting age of 158±22 m.y. is similar to ages reported for the voluminous Ferrar Dolerites, and suggests isotopic re-equilibration within the lower crust and upper mantle. These nodules are not genetically related to the Ferrar Dolerites, as evidenced by their lower initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios.Three ultramafic nodules are texturally and isotopically distinct from the rest of the analyzed nodules. These are friable, have larger 87Sr/86Sr ratios, and may represent a deeper sampling of mantle rock than the granulite-facies nodules. They were, however, derived at a shallower depth than the alkalic magma. Thus they are not genetically related to either the magma or the granulite-facies nodules.  相似文献

Newly obtained precise analytical data on trace elements and radiogenic Sr, Nd, and Pb isotopes testify to anomalous geochemical characteristics of mafic and intermediate Quaternary lavas in Paramushir (in the north of the Kuril arc), Kunashir and Iturup (in the south) islands, which are the largest three islands of the Kuril island arc. The high K and LREE concentrations in the volcanic products in Paramushir Island resulted from the southward expansion of the mantle thermal anomaly of the Kamchatka Peninsula and the involvement of melts related to the melting of oceanic sediments in magma generation. The depleted characteristics of the mafic volcanics are explained by the relatively young tectono-magmatic events during the opening of the Kuril backarc basin. The Kuril island-arc system developed on a heterogeneous basement. The northern islands are a continuation of the volcanic structures of southern Kamchatka, which were formed above an isotopically depleted and hot lithospheric mantle domain of composition close to that of the Pacific MORB type. The southern islands were produced above an isotopically enriched and cold lithospheric domain of the Indian-Ocean MORB type, which was modified in relation to relatively young backarc tectono-magmatic processes. Although issues related to the genesis of the transverse geochemical zoning were beyond the originally formulated scope of our research, the homogeneous enough isotopic composition of the rear-arc lavas in the absence of any mineralogical and geochemical lines of evidence of crustal contamination suggests an independent magmatic source.  相似文献

研究目的】柳东地区位于右江盆地东缘,近年来该地区早三叠世石炮组中首次发现一套火山岩夹层,为研究盆地东缘的构造演化特征提供了重要依据。【研究方法】本文以新发现的柳东地区火山岩为研究对象,通过LAICP-MS锆石U-Pb年龄及Hf同位素分析,研究右江盆地东缘火山岩的形成时代及岩浆源区特征。【研究结果】结果表明,火山岩的岩性为凝灰岩-凝灰质熔岩-凝灰质火山角砾岩组合,指示了典型的火山岩特征。其2件凝灰岩样品中锆石LA-ICP-MS U-Pb加权平均年龄分别为(244.0±1.9) Ma和(247.1±0.9) Ma,锆石微量元素(U、Th、Hf、Nb)表现出大陆岩浆弧属性特征。锆石Hf同位素结果显示εHft)为-13.2~-1.2,二阶段模式年龄(TDMC)为1.35~2.06 Ga,其岩浆源区主要为地壳物质,平均地壳存留年龄为1.7~2.06 Ga。【结论】该火山岩夹层与其所出露的地层时代基本相符,属于早三叠世末期—中三叠世早期火山喷发产物,火山岩形成于火山弧-同碰撞的构造环境,代表了弧后盆地的沉积环境,与印支期古特提斯洋的闭合相关。该成果为古特提斯构造域的演化研究提供了新的基础资料,具有重要意义。创新点:柳东地区火山岩属于早三叠世末期—中三叠世早期火山喷发产物,形成于印支期古特提斯洋的闭合条件下的火山弧-同碰撞构造环境。  相似文献

138Ce/142Ce isotope ratios in Cenozoic island arc volcanic rocks are reported for the first time, together with isotope ratios of Nd and Sr and abundances of REE, Ba and Sr. The island arc volcanics studies here are boninites from Chichijima, the Bonin Islands, and basalts and andesites from the Solomon Islands. REE patterns of the island arc volcanic rocks from the Solmon Islands and the Bonin Islands are confirmed to have negative Ce anomalies. It is also disclosed that the majority of these island arc volcanic rocks show mainly positive values for both Ce and Nd. It is shown that these Ce and Ce values can hardly be interpreted by simple mixing between MORB and oceanic or continental crustal rocks; the former have positive Nd and negative Ce and the latter have negative Ce and positive or negative Nd. Existence of sources having positive Ce and Nd values is strongly suggested. If the sources are assumed to have been fractionated from CHUR (chondritic uniform reservoir) at the early or middle Precambrian era, the sources from which the volcanics were derived are concluded to have kept concave REE patterns with larger (La/Ce)N and smaller (Nd/Sm)N ratios than chondritic values over a substantial period of time, until the time of Cenozoic magmatism forming island arc volcanic rocks in question. During the periods of the Cenozoic magmatic activities and their related events, Ce anomalies are considered to have been created. From Ce and Nd isotope ratios, however, it is difficult to determine which of the following processes was responsible for the Ce anomaly; the incorporation process of subducted oceanic crust into magma at the mantle or the slab dehydration and metasomatism process. Nevertheless, so far as Ce and Nd isotopic ratios are concerned, incorporation of oceanic sediments did not take place to any clearly detectable degree.  相似文献
