Arbitrary amplitude dust-acoustic double-layers (DA-DLs) in a plasma with suprathermal electrons, two-temperature thermal ions, and warm drifting dust grains are investigated. Our results reveal that the spatial patterns of the DA-DLs are affected by the degree of the electron suprathermality. The electron thermalization involves a decrease of the cold ion component density, for the existence of localized DA-DLs. An increase of the dust drift velocity requires a decrease of κ (the electron spectral index), for the onset of dust-acoustic double-layers. An increase of the Mach number M leads to an increase of the DL amplitude as well as the corresponding electron spectral index for which the DL occurs.  相似文献

Weak ion-acoustic double-layers (IA-DLs) in a two-component plasma are investigated in the context of the nonextensive statistics proposed by Tsallis. Due to the entropic index q, our plasma model can admit compressive as well as rarefactive IA-DLs. It is shown that the values \frac53 < q < 3\frac{5}{3}q-parameters for the existence of small-DLs. As long as the Mach number M is less than ∼1.42, the only admissible q-values which may lead to IA-DLs are all positive. For −1<q<1 (1<q<5/3), the effect of increasing q is to lower (to shift towards higher values) the critical Mach number M cr above which only compressive IA-DL are admitted. Beyond q=3, only compressive small-amplitude ion-acoustic double layers are observed. Furthermore, due to the flexibility of the q-parameter, the obtained results bring a possibility to deal with small-DLs with relatively high Mach numbers. Our investigation may be of wide relevance to astronomers and space scientists working on interstellar plasmas.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear analysis are presented for an electronegative dusty plasma system. Linear analysis shows that the dispersive nature of the plasma system changes considerably due to the presence of nonthermal q-nonextensive distributed electrons. The presence of both compressive and rarefactive Sagdeev solitons is investigated and shown that the addition of even a small population of dust particles will significantly modify the large amplitude Sagdeev solitons. The coexistence of both compressive and rarefactive solitons for a certain set of parameters is also noticed in such system. The effect of variation of entropic index q, θ i (ratio of positive ion temperature to electron temperature), θ n (ratio of negative ion temperature to electron temperature) and dust particles concentration (R) is elaborated with the help of suitable parameters.  相似文献

Nonlinear ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) are addressed in a weakly relativistic plasma consisting of cold ion fluid, q-nonextensive electron velocity distribution and Boltzmann distributed positron. The Korteweg-de Vries- (KdV) equation is derived by reductive perturbation method. We investigate the effect of nonextensive electrons on solitary waves in this medium. It is found that only compressive solitons can be appeared in the existence of nonextensive electrons. It is shown that the structure of soliton depend sensitively on the q-nonextensive parameter.  相似文献

The problem of solitary electron acoustic (EA) wave propagation in a plasma with nonthermal hot electrons featuring the Tsallis distribution is addressed. A physically meaningful nonextensive nonthermal velocity distribution is outlined. It is shown that the effect of the nonthermal electron nonextensivity on EA waves can be quite important. Interestingly, we found that the phase speed of the linear EA mode increases as the entropic index q decreases. This enhancement is weak for q>1, and significant for q<1. For a given nonthermal state, the minimum value of the allowable Mach numbers is lowered as the nonextensive nature of the electrons becomes important. This critical limit is shifted towards higher values as the nonthermal character of the plasma is increased. Moreover, our plasma model supports rarefactive EA solitary waves the main quantities of which depend sensitively on q. This dependency (for q>1) becomes less noticeable as the nonthermal parameter decreases. Nevertheless, decreasing α yields for q<0 a different result, a trend which may be attributed to the functional form of the nonthermal nonextensive distribution. Our study (which is not aimed at putting the ad hoc Cairns distribution onto a more rigorous foundation) suggests that a background electron nonextensivity may influence the EA solitons.  相似文献

The behavior of quantum dust ion-acoustic (QDIA) shocks in a plasma including inertialess quantum electrons and positrons, classical cold ions and stationary negative dust grains are studied, using a quantum hydrodynamic model (QHD). The effect of dissipation due to the viscosity of ions is taken into account. The propagation of small but finite amplitude QDIA shocks is governed by the Kortoweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdVB) equation. The existence regions of oscillatory and monotonic shocks will depend on the quantum diffraction parameter (H) and dust density (d) as well as dissipation parameter (η 0). The effect of plasma parameters (d,H,η 0), on these structures is investigated. Results indicate that the thickness and height of monotonic shocks; oscillation amplitude of the oscillatory shock wave and it’s wavelength effectively are affected by these parameters. Additionally, the possibility of propagation of both compressive and rarefactive shocks is investigated. It is found that depending on some critical value of dust density (d c ), which is a function of H, compressive and rarefactive shock waves can’t propagate in model plasma. The present theory is applicable to analyze the formation of nonlinear structures at quantum scales in dense astrophysical objects.  相似文献

The deceleration parameter q0 is calculated from the relation between apparent magnitudes m of the brightest galaxies in clusters and their redshifts z considering an intergalactic extinction. The calculation is valid for a Friedman universe, homogeneously filled with dust grains, assuming the extinction to be 0.5 mag at z = 1 and a λ−1-law of extinction (according to Oleak and Schmidt 1976). Using the m,z-values of Kristian, Sandage, and Westphal (1978) a formal value of q0 ≈︁ 2.1 is obtained instead of q0 ≈︁ 1.6 without consideration of intergalactic extinction.  相似文献

Properties of dust-ion acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) in dusty plasmas composed of nonextensive electrons, cold fluid ions and stationary dust particles are investigated. The possibility of soliton formation and the effect of nonextensivity of the electron distribution on the soliton characters are studied using the pseudo-potential method. Regions of parameters in which a solitary wave can be propagated in the plasma is analyzed too. It is found that the solitary excitations strongly depend on the electron-ion density ratio (μ), Mach numbers (M) as well as the nonextensive parameter (q). It is shown that the domain of allowed Mach numbers depends drastically on the plasma parameters and especially on the electron nonextensivity. It is found that beyond a threshold value of the nonextensive parameter (q), dust-ion acoustic solitons are admitted.  相似文献

For the critical values of the parameters q and V, the work (Samanta et al. in Phys. Plasma 20:022111, 2013b) is unable to describe the nonlinear wave features in magnetized dusty plasma with superthermal electrons. To describe the nonlinear wave features for critical values of the parameters q and V, we extend the work (Samanta et al. in Phys. Plasma 20:022111, 2013b). To extend the work, we derive the modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (MKP) equation for dust ion acoustic waves in a magnetized dusty plasma with q-nonextensive velocity distributed electrons by considering higher order coefficients of ?. By applying the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to this MKP equation, the existence of solitary wave solutions of both types rarefactive and compressive, periodic travelling wave solutions and kink and anti-kink wave solutions is proved. Three exact solutions of these above waves are determined. The present study could be helpful for understanding the nonlinear travelling waves propagating in mercury, solar wind, Saturn and in magnetosphere of the Earth.  相似文献

The distribution of galaxies in the pencil-beam surveys of Broadhurstet al. which proved periodical across 8–10 consecutive steps in a flat dust model withq 0=0.5 is found to reveal extended periodicity up to 16–17 phase-coherent steps, covering the total sample, in a flat, moderately inflationary model withq 0=–0.5 (vacuum/dust ratio 2/1). In the latter model the vacuum component helps to reach the critical density and lengthens the expansion time-scale. It is shown that the explanation of the found periodicity as a consequence of space compactification as suggested by G. Paál twenty years ago in connection with apparent quasar periodicities is still possible.  相似文献

The instability of dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) driven by ions and electrons with different drift velocities in an unmagnetized, collisionless, isotropic dusty plasma was investigated. The electrons, ions and dust particles are assumed to be the generalized q-nonextensive distributions. The spectral indices of the q-distributions for the three plasma components are different from each other. Based on kinetic theory, the dispersion relation and the instability growth rate of DIAWs are obtained. It is found that the presence of the nonextensive distribution electrons and ions significantly modify the domain of the instability growth rate, as well as the ion-electron density ratio (ρ) and drifting-thermal velocity ratio (u i0/v Te ). In reverse, the index of dust grains has nearly no any effect on the instability growth rate. Furthermore, the effects of these parameters on the growth rate have also been discussed in detail.  相似文献

Bifurcations of dust acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with q-nonextensive velocity distributed ions are studied through non-perturbative approach. Basic equations are reduced to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. After that by applying the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to this equation, we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. Two exact solutions of the above waves are derived depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, the effect of the parameter (q) is studied on characteristics of dust acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves. The parameter (q) significantly influence the characteristics of dust acoustic solitary and periodic structures.  相似文献

In the new investigation of dust-ion acoustic (DIA) waves with negative dust charges and weakly relativistic ions and electrons in the plasma, compressive and rarefactive DIA solitons of interesting characters are established through the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. Eventually, the amplitudes of the compressive DIA solitons are found to be constant at some critical temperature ratio α c (electron to ion temperature ratio) identifying some critical dust charge Z dc . It is predicted, that the reception of dust charges by the plasma particles at the variation of temperature starts functioning to the growth of compressive soliton’s constant stage of amplitude after the state of critical α c . The identification of critical dust charge (Z dc ) which is found to be very great for solitons of constant amplitudes becomes feasible for very small dust to ion density ratio (σ). But it can be achieved, we observe, due to the relativistic increase in ion-density as in mass, which is also a salient feature of this investigation.  相似文献

The dust-acoustic shock waves have been theoretically investigated using reductive perturbation technique. An unmagnetized four-component dusty plasma system consisting of nonextensive q-distributed electrons, Boltzmann distributed ions, and negatively as well as positively charged dust particles has been considered. The solution of Burgers equation in planar geometry is numerically analyzed. It has been observed that the nonextensive q-distribution of electrons has a significant role in the formation of shock waves. The relevance of our results to astrophysics as well as laboratory plasmas are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Propagation of small but finite amplitude ion acoustic solitons and double layers are investigated in electron–positron–ion plasmas in presence of highly negatively charged impurities or dust. The presence of negatively charged dust particulates can result in existence of two critical concentrations of ion–electron density ratio α. One of them α D decides the existence of double layers, whereas the other one α R decides the nature of the solitons and double layers. The system supports both compressive and rarefactive solitons as well as double layers. The parameter regimes of transitions from compressive to rarefactive solitons and double layers are also specified.  相似文献

Nonlinear propagation of dust-acoustic waves in an unmagnetized dusty plasma consisting of negatively charged mobile dust, nonextensive ions following nonextensive q-distribution and two distinct temperature superthermal electrons following superthermal kappa distribution each, is investigated by employing lower and higher order nonlinear equations, namely the Korteweg-de-Vries (K-dV), the modified Korteweg-de-Vries (mK-dV) and the Gardner equations. The characteristic features of the hump (positive potential) and dip (negative potential) shaped dust-acoustic (DA) Gardner solitons are found to exist beyond the K-dV limit. The effects of two superthermal temperature electrons and ions nonextensivity on the basic characteristics of DA K-dV, mK-dV and Gardner solitons have also been investigated. It has been found that the DA Gardner solitons exhibit either negative or positive potential solitons only for q<q c where, q c is the critical value of the nonextensive parameter q. The possible applications of our results in understanding the localized nonlinear electrostatic structures existing in solar atmosphere, Saturn’s magnetosphere etc. (where the tails of the high energetic particles at different temperatures follow power-law like distribution) are also briefly discussed.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation and interaction of dust acoustic multi-soliton in a four component dusty plasma which consists of negatively and positively charged cold dust fluids, q-nonextensive velocity distributed electrons and ions, have been studied. Applying reductive perturbation technique (RPT), we have derived Korteweged-de Vries (KdV) equation for our model. By using Hirota bilinear method, we have obtained two-soliton and three-soliton solutions of the obtained KdV equation. Phase shifts of two-soliton and three-soliton have been presented. It has been observed that the parameters α 1, α 2, nonextensive parameter q, temperature ratio of ion to electron (σ), and μ play a crucial role in the formation of two-soliton and three-soliton. The implications of our results in understanding the localized nonlinear electrostatic perturbations observed in double-plasma machines, Cometary tails, Jupiter’s magnetosphere etc., where population of q-nonextensive velocity distributed electrons and ions can significantly dominate the wave dynamics, are also briefly discussed.  相似文献

Electron-acoustic double-layers (EA-DLs) are addressed in a plasma with a q-nonextensive electron velocity distribution. The domain of their allowable Mach numbers depends drastically on the plasma parameters and, in particular, on the electron nonextensivity. As the electrons evolve far away from their thermodynamic equilibrium, the negative EA-DLs shrinks and may develop into compressive EA-DLs. Our results may be relevant to the double-layers observed both in the auroral region and the plasma sheet of Earth’s magnetosphere (during enhanced magnetic activity). These DLs associated parallel electric fields are thought to be responsible for particle (electrons and ions) acceleration. Furthermore, our theoretical analysis brings a possibility to develop more refined theories of nonlinear cosmic DLs that may occur in astrophysical plasmas.  相似文献

Linear and nonlinear studies are presented for an electron-ion plasma system which is being energized with an external beam of positrons. The electrons are assumed to follow the q-nonextensive velocity distribution. The growth rates of instability due to positron beam are analyzed numerically. The compressive and rarefactive double layers are studied in the system and it is found that by varying the entropic index parameter q, positron beam speed v po and concentration of positrons p, the dynamics of nonlinear profile is changing quite effectively. The relevance of the work regarding to astrophysical space plasma is pointed out.  相似文献

Ion acoustic shock waves (IASWs) are studied in a plasma consisting of nonextensive electrons and ions. The dissipation is taken into account the kinematic viscosity among the plasma constituents. The Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equation is derived by reductive perturbation method. Shock waves are solutions of KdV-Burgers equation. It is shown that acceptable values of q-parameter (where q stands for the electron nonextensive parameter) are more than 3 in a weakly nonlinear analysis. We have found that the amplitude of shock waves decreases by an increasing q-parameter.  相似文献
