The purpose of the present study was to isolate and identify the metal-resistant lactic acid bacteria from sediments of coastal aquaculture habitats for removal of cadmium and lead from ambience. Collected sediment samples were used to isolate the cadmium- and lead-resistant bacterial colonies by spread plate technique using agar media (De Man, Rogosa and Sharpe) supplemented with cadmium or lead at 50?mg/l. Isolates were identified by bacterial colony polymerase chain reaction and sequencing of 16S ribosomal deoxyribonucleic acid. Metal removing probiotic was determined by characterizing the lactic acid yield in culture media, viability in fish intestine, metal-resistant and metal-removal efficiencies. 16S ribosomal deoxyribonucleic acid sequencing data of five (Cd10, Cd11, Pb9, Pb12 and Pb18) and other all isolates clearly showed 99?% similarities to Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus cereus, respectively. The Pb12 exhibited higher lactic acid yield (180?mmol) than that of the remaining E. faecium strains and excellent viability without pathogenicity; therefore, further study was carried out using Pb12 strain. The selected Pb12 strain showed elevated metal resistant (minimum inhibitory concentrations 120 and 800?mg/l for cadmium and lead, respectively) and removal efficiencies [Cadmium 0.0377?mg/h/g and lead 0.0460?mg/h/g of cells (wet weight)]. From the viability and metal removal points of view, it can be concluded that isolated metal-resistant E. faecium Pb12 strains might be used as potential probiotic strains for removing heavy metals from fish intestinal milieu to control the progressive bioaccumulation of heavy metals in the fish.  相似文献

The presence of heavy metals in diverse forms in the environment (which is having a direct and continuous interface with the health of living beings) demands an efficient removal technique which would be cost effective, eco-friendly, easily operable and free of secondary waste. Hence, the useless and discarded leaves of Cissus rotundifolia have been valorized by utilizing it for the removal of heavy metal pollutant after its modification. The developed adsorbent is then characterized through X-ray diffraction study, scanning electron microscope analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and application of mathematical models. The adsorption process was found to follow Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-first-order kinetics. The intraparticle diffusion was found to be the rate limiting step. Besides being usable in batch method, this adsorbent is also applicable to fixed bed column technique, due to its faster kinetics, high hydrophilicity, and easy recovery with mild mineral acid (like 0.002 mol per liter of hydrochloric acid).  相似文献

A rapid and reliable method for analyzing Fe and Ca in low-rank Greek coals was developed. The presence of Fe and Ca is of importance regarding the potential use of these coals as raw material for organomineral fertilizers. Samples were collected from the main Greek lignite deposits and standards were prepared using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), which were also employed in the Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) method. The new method offers the advantages of being timesaving, non-destructive and can be easily incorporated in a fertilizer production line. Analysis of low-rank Greek coals demonstrated a significant Fe and Ca content ranging from 0.15 to 1.97 wt.% for Fe and from 0.04 to 2.51 wt.% for Ca. When both EDXRF and AAS techniques were applied, the Fe and Ca concentration values differed less than 5%, demonstrating that both techniques are reliable for low-rank coals in the above concentration range. These EDXRF results may be used as a preliminary test regarding the application of Greek coals in organomineral fertilizer production, given that in these coals iron and calcium are the most abundant metals.  相似文献

This paper reports the potential of chemically treated wood chips to remove copper (II) ions from aqueous solution a function of pH, adsorbent dose, initial copper (II) concentration and contact time by batch technique. The wood chips were treated with (a) boiling, (b) formaldehyde and (c) concentrated sulphuric acid and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive analysis X-ray. pH 5.0 was optimum with 86.1, 88.5 and 93.9 % copper (II) removal by boiled, formaldehyde-treated and concentrated sulphuric acid-treated wood chips, respectively, for dilute solutions at 20 g L?1 adsorbent dose. The experimental data were analysed using Freundlich, Langmuir, Dubinin–Radushkevich and Temkin isotherm models. It was found that Freundlich and Langmuir models fitted better the equilibrium adsorption data and the adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order reaction kinetics. The results showed that the copper (II) is considerably adsorbed on wood chips and it could be an economical option for the removal of copper from aqueous systems.  相似文献

Nile Rose Plant was used to study adsorption of several cations (Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+) from wastewater within various experimental conditions. The dried leaves of Nile Rose Plant were used at different adsorbent/ metal ion ratios. The influence of pH, contact time, metal concentration, and adsorbent loading weight on the removal process was investigated. Batch adsorption studies were carried out at room temperature. The adsorption efficiencies were found to be pH dependent, increasing by increasing the pH in the range from 2.5 to 8.5 exept for Pb. The equilibrium time was attained within 60 to 90 min. and the maximum removal percentage was achieved at an adsorbent loading weight of 1.5 g/50 mL mixed ions solution. Isothermal studies showed that the data were best fitted to the Temkin isotherm model. The removal order was found to be Pb2+> Zn2+> Cu2+> Cd2+. The surface IR-characterization of Nile rose plant showed the presence of many functional groups capable of binding to the metal cations.  相似文献

Granular activated carbon produced from palm kernel shell was used as adsorbent to remove copper, nickel and lead ions from a synthesized industrial wastewater.Laboratory experimental investigation was carried out to identify the effect of pH and contact time on adsorption of lead, copper and nickel from the mixed metals solution. Equilibrium adsorption experiments at ambient room temperature were carried out and fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich models. Results showed that pH 5 was the most suitable, while the maximum adsorbent capacity was at a dosage of 1 g/L, recording a sorption capacity of 1.337 mg/g for lead, 1.581 mg/g for copper and 0.130 mg/g for nickel. The percentage metal removal approached equilibrium within 30 min for lead, 75 min for copper and nickel, with lead recording 100 %, copper 97 % and nickel 55 % removal, having a trend of Pb2+ > Cu2+ > Ni2+. Langmuir model had higher R2 values of 0.977, 0.817 and 0.978 for copper, nickel and lead respectively, which fitted the equilibrium adsorption process more than Freundlich model for the three metals.  相似文献

Chromium (VI) which exists in many industrial wastewater is considered highly toxic. The aim of the present investigation was to study the reduction of chromium (VI) to chromium (III) and then removing it with the help of weathered basalt andesite products. Reduction of the chromium (VI) to chromium (III) by hydrazinium sulfate was investigated. The influence of hydronium ion concentration, contact time, hydrazinium sulphate dosage and temperature has been tested in batch runs. The process was found to be acid, temperature and concentration dependent. The suitability of weathered basalt andesite products as a potential sorbent was assessed for the removal of chromium (III) following batch mode of operation. The effect of various parameters such as hydronium ion concentration, shaking time, sorbent dose, initial metal ion concentration and temperature on the removal of chromium (III) from aqueous solution was studied. Thermodynamic parameters (?H°, ?S° and ?G°) for the sorption process were evaluated. Analysis of sorption obtained results showed that the sorption pattern followed the Freundlich, Langmuir and Dubinin-Kaganer-Radushkevich isotherms. The process follows pseudo second order rate and surface diffusion is identified as the predominating mechanism. The sorption process was shown to be reversible by the recovery of sorbed chromium (III) upon extraction with 0.5 M nitric acid. The sorbent, before and after sorption, was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmision electron microscope and thermogravimetric analyse methodes. An increase in crystallanity after sorption of chromium was observed. An industrial effluent was successfully treated with the same sorbent with convincing results.  相似文献

Novel composite adsorbents PPTA-AOx were synthesized by grafting polyacrylonitrile onto poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PPTA) followed by converting the acrylonitrile into the amidoxime (AO) groups. Their structures were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, elemental analysis, transmission electron microscopy, etc. Scanning electron microscopy analysis and pore structure analysis manifested that PPTA-AOx adsorbents are all composed of nanoparticles aggregation. The as-synthesized PPTA-AOx adsorbents showed good adsorption capacity for Hg2+ with a maximum adsorption capacity of 2.50 mmol g?1. The pseudo-second-order model can reasonably describe the adsorption kinetics of the three adsorbents for Hg2+. Langmuir model provided better fit for the isothermal adsorption of Hg2+ on PPTA-AO1 and PPTA-AO2, while the Freundlich model was better for PPTA-AO3. The adsorption process might involve both chemisorption and physisorption. According to the calculated thermodynamic parameters, it can be concluded that the adsorption is an endothermic, spontaneous and entropy-driven process.  相似文献

Adsorption of lead using a new green material obtained from Portulaca plant   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
In the present study the potential of a new green material obtained from Portulaca oleracea plant was investigated. The material was used without any chemical treatment to study the adsorption behavior of lead ions from aqueous solution. Various batch experiments were carried out using different experimental conditions such as pH, contact time, adsorbent concentration, and metal ion concentration to identify the optimum conditions. The influence of these parameters on the adsorption capacity was studied. Results showed the optimum initial pH for adsorption as 6. Adsorption equilibrium was reached in 120?min. The adsorption data were modeled using both the Langmuir and Freundlich classical adsorption isotherms. Results show ~78% removal of lead from aqueous solution. The kinetic data corresponded well with pseudo second-order equation. From the initial results, the green material obtained from the waste of Portulaca seems to be a potential low-cost adsorbent for removal of lead ions from water.  相似文献

根据地质力学模型试验的相似原理,经过大量力学试验,研制出一种新型铁晶砂胶结岩土相似材料。该材料由铁矿粉、重晶石粉、石英砂、石膏粉和松香酒精溶液按规定配比均匀拌和压实而成,其中铁矿粉、重晶石粉和石英砂作为主料,松香酒精溶液作为胶结剂,石膏粉作为调节剂。材料力学参数测试表明:该材料具有重度高、力学参数变化范围广、性能稳定、价格低廉、干燥快速、制作工艺简单、无毒无害等显著优点,可用来模拟从软岩到硬岩的大部分岩体材料。将铁晶砂胶结岩土相似材料应用于沪―蓉―西高速公路大型分岔隧道三维地质力学模型试验研究,有效地揭示了分岔隧道围岩的力学变形特性。  相似文献

A sequential fractionation procedure employing a series of selected mild organic solvents of different polarity has been applied for the isolation of chemically different organic fractions from a brown coal humic acid. Elemental composition, molecular weight distribution, i.r. and electron spin resonance analysis were carried out on the isolated humic fractions. They were characterized by: (a) a low polydispersity, (b) a decreasing aliphatic and increasing aromatic character along the series, (c) very different molecular weight which significantly correlated with E4/E6 ratios (particle aggregation and molecular association) and free radical concentrations (chemical and biochemical activity). Significant correlations were found between physico-chemical parameters of the isolated humic fractions, i.e. Mn, Mw, E4/E6 ratios, spins/g contents and the dielectric constants of the solvents used. This suggested the efficiency of the applied procedure in isolating chemically different organic fractions from the bulk, original humic acid.  相似文献

Laboratory tests were conducted on a reddish-brown lateritic soil treated with up to 12 % bagasse ash to assess its suitability in waste containment barriers applications. Soil samples were prepared using four compaction energies (i.e. reduced Proctor, standard Proctor, West African Standard or ‘intermediate’ and modified Proctor) at ?2, 0, 2 and 4 % moulding water content of the optimum moisture content (OMC). Index properties, hydraulic conductivity (k), volumetric shrinkage and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests were performed. Overall acceptable zones under which the material is suitable as a barrier material were obtained. Results recorded showed improved index properties; hydraulic conductivity and UCS with bagasse ash treatment up to 8 % at the OMC. Volumetric shrinkage strain increased with higher bagasse ash treatment. Based on the overall acceptable zone obtained, an 8 % optimal bagasse ash treatment of the natural lateritic soil makes it suitable for use in waste containment barrier application.  相似文献

An attempt has been made to delineate the hydrochemistry for a small island based on the major ions and heavy metal concentrations. In this investigation, six sampling campaigns were conducted to measure the concentrations of major ions (Ca, Mg, Na, K, HCO3, Cl, and SO4) and heavy metals (Zn, Cr, Pb, Mn, As, and Cu) in groundwater samples collected from seven sampling stations (boreholes) located on Kapas Island, Terengganu, Malaysia. The distribution of major ions is illustrated by a piper plot where Ca–HCO3 is the dominant type. In addition, the concentrations of heavy metals demonstrate that Mn shows as being the highest concentrated heavy metal in the groundwater sampled in the sampling campaigns; the average Mn content in groundwater sampled was 54.05 μg/L. However, a comparison of the heavy metal (Mn, Cr, Zn, As, Pb, and Cu) concentrations in groundwater samples with the Drinking Water Quality Standard prescribed by World Health Organization reveals that none of these heavy metals exceeded the recommended threshold limits. The principal component analyses (PCA) extracted four components that control the groundwater chemistry. Components 1 and 2 from the PCA analyses extracted approximately 52.11 % of the total variance, which represent the heavy metals (As and Mn) and physical parameters (pH, redox potential, electrical conductivity, temperature, and total dissolved solids). Based on the output of the PHREEQC hydrogeochemical software, several species of heavy metals exist, in which the dominant species found are Mn2+, PbCO3, Cu(OH)2, and Zn+.  相似文献

非常规致密储层类型多,孔隙结构复杂,非均质性强,研究难度大。针对已有致密储层孔隙结构评价技术,重点探讨了CT扫描、气体吸附与压汞分析等技术的有效应用范围,厘定了不同技术应用时需注意的关键问题,指出兼顾分辨率与代表性、提高表征维度、实现动态与静态同步表征是致密储层孔隙结构评价技术优选的关键。通过系统解剖常规砂岩、致密砂岩、致密混积岩、沉凝灰岩、介壳灰岩及泥页岩6种储层,明确不同级别孔隙系统的差异性,针对性地提出了不同储层对应的关键表征技术系列。非常规致密储层孔隙结构研究应加强多尺度数据融合,加强与可动流体评价结合,加强与储层改造研究结合,通过多领域、多学科、多视角联合攻关,实现储层有效性评价,为寻找预测规模有效“甜点区”提供技术支撑。  相似文献

Uranium and Th are important radioactive elements. Most studies were focused on their environmental impact from uranium deposits and mining sites. But other sorts of mines such as rare metals mines are associated highly with uranium and thorium, too. In China, the Irtysh River is the only river that runs into the Arctic Ocean. The famous Koktokay rare metal pegmatite deposit is located in the headwater region of this river and has been exploited for several decades. The waste ore piled along the riverside as long as several kilometers. The wastewater flom the concentrating plant is discharged into the river directly. In addition, uranium and thorium can be leached from the waste ore into the river in the weathering process. So it is necessary to study the uranium and thorium distribution in the branch and trunk streams of the Irtysh River and the wastewater from the mining site impact on it. In this study, the contents of uranium and thorium in water samples from the Irtysh River and rare metal mine wastewater have been detected directly with ICP-MS. Uranium and thorium distribution and geochemical behaviors in the Irtysh River basin have been studied. The environmental uranium and thorium pollution status in the Irtysh River and wastewater from a rare metal mine impact on it have also been evaluated. The study shows that uranium and thorium contents in wastewater from a rare metal mine are as high as 78.311 μg/L and 0.627 μg/L, respectively, so we should also pay attention to the radioactive pollution from the rare metal mine. The average contents of U and Th in the branch streams of the Irtysh River are 0.572 μg/L and 0.015 μg/L, respectively. At the mean time, in the trunk of the Irtysh River, average thorium content is 0.019 μg/L while U is up to 2.234 μg/L, much higher than the average content (0.0309 μg/L) of the world rivers. From upstream to downstream in the trunk of the Irtysh River, thorium content declines gradually due to dilution by other branches and deposition itself.  相似文献

基于复合地基等应变条件下应力和位移的精确解,得到了桩土应力比、沉降比、径向位移和桩土侧压力系数等的计算公式。分析了它们随桩土压缩模量比和置换率的变化规律,并在分析过程中与Priebe法做了比较,详细分析了Priebe法中所做假设对计算结果的影响。分析表明,Priebe法中忽略桩体体积应变的假设会带来较大的误差,而针对径向变形计算和桩土侧压力系数的假定由于影响的相互抵消作用,其综合影响不一定很大。  相似文献

Pt-Os、Re-Os和Hf-W同位素体系的母体和子体Pt、Os、Re、Hf和W以及其它铂族元素(PGE)化学性质上都是难熔的,我们将这些元素和相关同位素称为难熔元素和难熔元素放射性同位素体系。难熔元素及其放射性同位素体系不仅可以直接测定金属矿床、油气藏和沉积岩系的年龄,而且还可以有效示踪地球深部的核幔反应等过程,这是其它地球化学工具不可替代的。本文评述了当前Pt-Os、Re-Os和Hf-W同位素体系和PGE元素分析技术的研究进展,指出:(1)目前Re-Os同位素定年误差仍较大,迫切需要优化改进分析技术,大幅提高Re-Os同位素定年的准确度和成功率;(2)Pt-Re-Os和W同位素的分析技术需要简化繁琐的化学分离流程和提高仪器分析的效率,同时探索建立新的化学分离和仪器分析方法,进一步提高分析精度,实现对更低Pt、Re、Os和W含量样品的准确分析,才能更有效地示踪地球深部物质循环过程;(3)PGE的元素分析技术尚需改进,分析精度仍需要进一步提升。我们预期随着进一步提升难熔元素和代表性放射性同位素的分析精度,显著降低同位素定年误差,其将在核-幔、幔-幔和壳-幔物质循环过程示踪、金属矿床精细定年和成因机制、复杂含油气系统的定年和示踪以及中元古代环境变化等研究中得到更广泛的应用。
