The orbital elements of three red‐giant single‐lined spectroscopic binaries, HR 1304, HR 1908 and HD 126947, are presented. They are obtained from observations made with two photoelectric spectrometers of CORAVEL type, the first located at the Observatoire de Haute‐Provence and the second at the Cambridge Observatories. HR 1304 and HR 1908 are known to be chromospherically active stars and to have high spatial velocities; HD 126947 is an intrinsic variable newly detected by Hipparcos. The three systems have long orbital periods: 1.9, 3.2 and 7.7 yr for HR 1304, HR 1908 and HD 126947, respectively. From the orbital elements that we determined and other data available in the literature, we deduce some information about the unseen companions and their separations with respect to the primaries. Finally we discuss the rotation–revolution synchronism and conclude that one star, HR 1908, may have reached the state of pseudo‐synchronism, despite of its long orbital period. The orbital elements of seven single‐lined spectroscopic binaries, HD 31855, HD 59643, HD 60092, HD 133189, HD 162262, HD 203522, BD +43° 1331 are presented. They are obtained from observations made with two photoelectric spectrometers of CORAVEL type, the first located at the Observatoire de Haute‐Provence and the second at the Cambridge Observatories. From those orbital elements and other data available in the literature, we deduce some information about the unseen companions and their separations with respect to the primaries. We then discuss the rotation‐revolution synchronism and conclude that some of those stars have probably reached the state of (pseudo‐)synchronism. Finally we give a synopsis of the results obtained in this series of papers. Our radial velocity monitoring of more than three decades has allowed us to derive accurate orbital elements of 35 spectroscopic binaries, with a cool primary star of type F‐G‐K‐M. During an observational program of asteroids at the observatory of Haute Provence (France) an asteroid of 17th magnitude was discovered on 22nd January 1988 (Elst 1988). Further observations at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and a preliminary determination of an orbit revealed that it belongs to the “Hungaria” family.  相似文献

High resolution coudé spectra in the blue and violet spectral regions have been obtained for five G dwarfs. Model atmospheres and spectrum synthesis of selected iron lines have been performed. Thegf values as well as other atomic parameters used in this analysis were previously tested by means of a solar model and the UtrechtSolar Atlas.Revised iron abundances have been derived. Some tentative evidence is presented that these abundances are related with the Wilson-Bappu width of Caii emissions.Based on observations obtained at the Observatoire de Haute Provence  相似文献

We present a new list of 156 M, C or emission line stars discovered on objective-prism plates taken at Haute Provence Observatory. The good spectra are classified by means of criteria used in previous publications, principally from the ratio of TiO bands.  相似文献

For the first time after Barbier and Chalonge's (1938, 1941) pioneering works, the variations of b andD during the eclipse of a variable (RT Tau), have been observed. The observations have been performed at the Observatories of Jungfraujoch and Haute Provence with the photoelectric system in seven colors of Geneva (Golay, 1964; Hauck, 1968). The comparison between the observed curves ofD and the theoretical ones, provides the limb darkening coefficients; the same comparison between the observed b (reddened) and theoretical ones (not reddened) together with that ofD, points out some anomalies of the variable RW Tau.

New observations of the planetary nebula A 79 using selective interference filters (Δ λ ≤ 10 Å) are reported. Thanks to the large field of view (< 11″5) offered by the Observatoire de Haute Provence 120-cm telescope we were able to discover a new extended feature close to A 79.  相似文献

The sample of Byurakan–IRAS galaxies (BIG) has been created based on optical identifications of IRAS Point Source Catalog (PSC) at high galactic latitudes. As a result, 1178 galaxies have been identified. 172 of them have been observed spectroscopically with Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO, Armenia) 2.6 m, Special Astrophysical Observatory (SAO, Russia) 6m and Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP, France) 1.93 m telescopes. Later on, spectra were obtained for more 83 BIG objects in Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). We have extracted and studied these spectra, classified them and measured spectral features. Diagnostic diagrams have been built to distinguish starbursts (SB), LINERs and Seyfert galaxies. Cross-correlations weremade for these objects with multiwavelength (MW) catalogues and their physical properties were studied. Among these 83 objects, 55 HII, 8 Seyfert galaxies, 2 LINERs, 4 other AGN, 6 composite spectrum objects, and 8 other emission-line galaxies have been revealed. Three of these objects are Ultra-Luminous InfraRed Galaxies (ULIRG).  相似文献

Results of spectral observations of 66 objects from the BIG (Byurakan IRAS Galaxies) sample made with the 1.93 m telescope at the Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP, France) are presented. Emission lines are observed from 64 of the galaxies. The red shifts are determined, the radial velocities, distances, and absolute stellar magnitudes are calculated, the spectrum line parameters are determined, diagnostic diagrams are constructed, the objects are classified according to activity type, and their IR and far-IR luminosities are calculated. Of the 66 objects (corresponding to 61 IRAS sources), 6 are Sy2, 2 are LINERs, 8 are AGN (Sy2 or LINER), 10 are composite, 34 are HII, and 4 are Em of undetermined type. It is calculated that IRAS 07479+7832= BIG d141a is a ultraluminous IR galaxy (ULIG), and 21 are LIG. Spectra of several of the galaxies being studied are presented.  相似文献

We present a brief status report on our ongoing extensive and detailed Walraven photometric observations of the young stellar cluster NGC 2244 in the Rosette Nebula. We present Strömgrenuvby photometric observations and a series of radial velocities obtained with the Coravel scanner for the 11th magnitude star catalogued in the Guide Star Catalogue as GSC 0114401023. This star was serendipitously identified on UV frames taken with the Very-Wide-Field-Camera aboard Spacelab-1. Radial velocities show the star to be binary and we have determined accurate orbital elements. Photometric data and orbital elements are consistent with the system being a previously-unrecognized eclipsing binary, with period = 33.8766 days and eccentricity = 0.262.Based on observations collected at the Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP), CNRS, Saint-Michel l'Observatoire, France, and at the European Southern Observatory (ESO), La Silla, Chile.  相似文献

We have studied a few optical spectra of the symbiotic star CH Cygni obtained in the period January 1990-June 1991, which indicate that a mild increase of activity occurred between July and December 1990. This increase of activity is confirmed by the IUE observations made in the same period. In fact, in this period of time, we have observed an increase of intensity of all the emission lines both in the optical and ultraviolet ranges and of the continuous ultraviolet flux.Based on observations obtained at the Observatory of Haute Provence (OHP) and on observations by the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) collected at the Villafranca Satellite Tracking Station.  相似文献

Twenty-five coudé spectrograms (22 with dispersion 12 Å mm–1 and three 7 Å mm–1) of 6 Cassiopeiae (A3 Ia) have been studied. The observations were made at the Haute Provence Observatory. The results of the analysis suggest a correlation between the variations of the equivalent widths, the microturbulence and the radial velocity. The radial velocity and turbulent velocity present a rapid variation with time, even in intervals as short as about an hour. The hydrogen lines are slightly asymmetric but the strongest Feii lines are clearly asymmetric. We found that the amount of asymmetry of the strongest Feii lines (I>6) correlates with the loggf value, with the estimated laboratory intensityI, and with the equivalent widthW .The observations have been made at the Astronomical Observatory of Haute Provence (CNRS). A new near infrared spectrophotometer has been built for the Asiago 182 cm telescope. The instrument performs both large band JHKLM photometry and 1–5 spectrophotometry; a tracking system on a field star allows closed loop mapping. The design and performances are discussed.  相似文献

Our de-reddened fluxes, together with the ultraviolet measurements of Thompsonet al. (1978), have been compared with those of Kurucz's (1979) model atmospheres to derive effective temperatures of some O emission, Be and Ae stars. With the measured monochromatic fluxes we determined their angular diameters and luminosities. It is found that the majority of the stars are cooler than the Zero-Age Main Sequence (ZAMS), suggesting that they are slightly more evolved than ZAMS stars.Paper presented at the IAU Third Asian-Pacific Regional Meeting, held in Kyoto, Japan, between 30 September–6 October, 1984. The manganese content was determined in the atmospheres of 50 F, G, and K dwarfs (?1.0 < [Fe/H] < 0.2) that belong to the galactic thick and thin disks. The observation data were obtained with ELODIE and SOPHIE echelle spectrometers with resolutions of R = 42000 and R = 75000, respectively, using the 1.93-meter telescope of the Haute Provence Observatory. The Mn content was determined under the LTE approximation by the synthetic spectrum approach with a detailed consideration of the superfine structure. The behavior of the Mn content with [Fe/H] in the galactic substructures was analyzed.  相似文献

Fourteen coudé spectrograms (eight with dispersion 12.4 Å mm–1 and six 7 Å mm–1) of the Cr star UMa (Ap) have been studied. The observations were made at the Haute Provence Observatory. The radial velocities of the various ions have been measured. The existence of Balmer progression in radial velocity is doubtful. The variability of some lines is in the opposite sense of K of Caii. Both a rough and a fine analysis have been made. The results of these analyses are compared and found to be in good agreement. The results of the fine analysis indicate a defect of Al, Si and Ca; Sc, Ti, Fe and Sr are normal, Mg and Ni are in slight excess. V, Cr and Mn are in excess by factors of 3, 12, 19; Y, Zr and Ba are in excess by factors of 9, 15, 30. Rare earths are in excess by factors ranging between 100–1000. These results are compared with the majority of the Cr–Eu–Sr stars.The observations have been made at the 152 cm coudé telescope of the Haute Provence Observatory.  相似文献
