Recently various waves and particle observations of auroral field lines have been carried out by the Swedish magnetospheric research satellite Viking. In order to study wave-particle interaction extensively, waves and subsequent ion beams are measured simultaneously. Both narrowband EIC waves and wideband EIC waves of up to several times the proton gyro-frequency have been detected. Along with the observed wave characteristics, a cool low-density electron population has been detected in ion-beam regions sometimes. Therefore, we try to find an effect on EIC wave instability by the presence of cold electrons using computer simulation.  相似文献

Bifurcation behavior of nonlinear dust ion acoustic travelling waves in a magnetized quantum dusty plasma has been studied. Applying the reductive perturbation technique (RPT), we have derived a Kadomtsev-Petviashili (KP) equation for dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) in a magnetized quantum dusty plasma. By using the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the KP equation, we have proved that our model has solitary wave solutions and periodic travelling wave solutions. We have derived two exact explicit solutions of the above travelling waves depending on different parameters.  相似文献

Bifurcations of nonlinear electron acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized quantum plasma with cold and hot electrons and ions has been investigated. The one dimensional quantum hydrodynamic model is used to study electron acoustic waves (EAWs) in quantum plasma. Applying the well known reductive perturbation technique (RPT), we have derived a Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation for EAWs in an unmagnetized quantum plasma. By using the bifurcation theory and methods of planar dynamical systems to this KdV equation, we have presented the existence of two types of traveling wave solutions which are solitary wave solutions and periodic traveling wave solutions. Under different parametric conditions, some exact explicit solutions of the above waves are obtained.  相似文献

By using singular surface theory and ray theory the speeds of propagation of fast and slow waves, propagating into a medium in arbitrary motion, have been obtained in relativistic magnetohydrodynamics. The differential equation governing the growth of these waves along the rays has been derived and the solution has been presented in integral form.  相似文献

Ion acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with superthermal (kappa distributed) cool and hot electrons have been investigated using non-perturbative approach. We have transformed basic model equations to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. Then we have applied the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained equation and we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. We have derived two exact solutions of solitary and periodic waves depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, we have shown the effects of density ratio p of cool electrons and ions, spectral index κ, and temperature ratio σ of cool electrons and hot electrons on characteristics of ion acoustic solitary and periodic waves.  相似文献

High-frequency acoustic waves have been suggested as a source of mechanical heating in the chromosphere. In this work the radial component of waves in the frequency interval 22 to 1 mHz are investigated. Observations were performed using 2D spectroscopy in the spectral lines of Fe i 543.45 nm and Fe i 543.29 nm at the Vacuum Tower Telescope, Tenerife, Spain. Speckle reconstruction has been applied to the observations. We have used Fourier and wavelet techniques to identify oscillatory power. The energy flux is estimated by assuming that all observed oscillations are acoustic running waves. We find that the estimated energy flux is not sufficient to cover the chromospheric radiative losses.  相似文献

Progress in understanding the nonlinear features of dust-acoustic waves (DAWs) which accompany a collisional strongly and weakly coupled unmagnetized dusty plasma with Boltzmann distributed electrons, ions and negatively charged dust grains is presented. By using a hydrodynamic model, the Korteweg–de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equation is derived. The existence regions of the solitary pulses are defined precisely. Furthermore, numerical calculations reveal that, due to collisions, the DAWs damp waves and the damping rate of the waves depends mainly on the collision frequency. The collisions are found to significantly change the basic properties of the DAWs. The effects of electron-to-ion concentration ratio, and ion-to-electron temperature ratio have important roles in the behavior of the DAWs. The results may have relevance in space and laboratory dusty plasmas.  相似文献

Most measurements of long period ULF pulsations have come from ground based and single satellite observations. The observations have given strong support to the idea that these waves are resonant standing hydromagnetic waves on geomagnetic field lines. Simultaneous ground-satellite observations provide further details of the pulsation structure and are useful for examining the effect of the ionosphere on the transmission of the waves to the ground. Recently, multisatellite observations have been used to provide further insight into the nature of pulsations and we review the results obtained using this technique. Among the results presented are those from the ISEE 1 and 2 spacecraft which are closely spaced in identical orbits, making it possible to distinguish temporal from spatial structure in waves. The ISEE spacecraft have made measurements of resonant region widths and resonance harmonics. In addition, examples are shown of recent multisatellite observations of the global nature of some pulsations and the localization of Pi2 pulsations in space.  相似文献

The space correlation of fluctuation of density in the nuclear reaction system inside the stars is investigated by using the theory of a generating function. Referring to the dynamical rate equation, we have introduced the gravitational force and temperature gradient terms into master equation of the probability distribution function of density, and a generalized master equation has been obtained. We take P-PI reactions of hydrogen-burning in the solar core as an example to solve this master equation for infinite medium. A series of waves have been obtained. The first branch is the average density wave which has already been obtained from the dynamical rate equation. Other branches describe the propagation of the fluctuation moments of the local density. They represent the propagation processes of the local distortion of the probability distribution function. Stability of the system may be related to an increase and decay of the waves. We have analysed the phase velocity of these waves.  相似文献

The 3+1 spacetime split is used in a preliminary investigation of waves propagating in a medium of isothermal plasma in the vicinity of event horizon of Reissner-Nordström planar analogue. The general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic equations for isothermal have been investigated there. The dispersion relations are obtained by using linear perturbation and Fourier analyze techniques for non-rotating and rotating, non-magnetized and magnetized environment. The wave number, phase velocity, group velocity etc. are shown to discuss the nature of the waves.  相似文献

Some important evolution nonlinear partial differential equations are derived using the reductive perturbation method for unmagnetized collisionless system of five component plasma. This plasma system is a multi-ion contains negatively and positively charged Oxygen ions (heavy ions), positive Hydrogen ions (lighter ions), hot electrons from solar origin and colder electrons from cometary origin. The positive Hydrogen ion and the two types of electrons obey \(q\)-non-extensive distributions. The derived equations have three types of ion acoustic waves, which are soliton waves, shock waves and kink waves. The effects of the non-extensive parameters for the hot electrons, the colder electrons and the Hydrogen ions on the propagation of the envelope waves are studied. The compressive and rarefactive shapes of the three envelope waves appear in this system for the first order of the power of the nonlinearity strength with different values of non-extensive parameters. For the second order, the strength of nonlinearity will increase and the compressive type of the envelope wave only appears.  相似文献

Ion cyclotron waves generated in the magnetosphere by the ion cyclotron instability of protons are thought to be the origin of Pc 1–2 geomagnetic pulsations. Propagation characteristics of these waves have been measured using ATS-6 synchronous satellite magnetometer wave data. Of particular interest are the wave spectra, polarization properties, and wave diagnostics; all are characteristic of propagation in a cool ambient magnetospheric plasma containing He+ and O+ heavy ions.  相似文献

Properties of dust-acoustic solitary waves in a warm dusty plasma are analyzed by using the hydrodynamic model for massive dust grains, electrons, ions, and streaming ion beam. For this purpose, Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation for the first-order perturbed potential and linear inhomogeneous KdV-type equation for the second-order perturbed potential have been derived and their analytical solutions are presented. In order to show the characteristics of the dust-acoustic solitary waves are influenced by the plasma parameters, the relevant numerical analysis of the KdV and linear inhomogeneous KdV-type equations are obtained. The dust-acoustic solitary waves, as predicted here, may be associated with the nonlinear structures caused by the interaction of polar jets with the interstellar medium, which is known as Herbig-Haro objects.  相似文献

The properties of five-minute temperature waves in the photosphere are investigated. The phase and amplitude relations of temperature and acoustic waves are deduced. It is expected that the five-minute oscillations represent a mixture of acoustic and temperature waves. The temperature waves are generated due to linear interaction with acoustic waves. It is well known that concurrent with the acoustic waves, temperature or heat waves can appear in the case of nonadiabatic disturbances (Landau and Lifshitz, 1959). The temperature waves are dissipative damped waves. Propagation of nonadiabatic hydrodynamic waves in a stratified medium have been considered by Zhugzdha (1983). If stratification of heat exchange exists, a linear interaction of hydrodynamic and temperature waves arises. The temperature waves must be present in the solar atmosphere.  相似文献

The middle atmospheric dynamics on Venus are investigated using a middle atmosphere general circulation model. The magnitude of the superrotation is sensitive to the amplitude of the planetary-scale waves. In particular, the critical level absorptions of the forced planetary-scale waves might contribute to the maintenance of the superrotation near the cloud base. In the case of strong 5.5-day wave forcing, the superrotation with zonal wind speed higher than 100 m s?1 is maintained by the forced wave. Four-day and 5.5-day waves are found near the equatorial cloud top and base, respectively. The planetary-scale waves have a Y-shaped pattern maintained by the amplitude modulation in the presence of strong thermal tides. The polar hot dipole is unstable and its dynamical behavior is complex near the cloud top in this model. The dipole merges into a monopole or breaks up into a tripole when the divergent eddies with high zonal wavenumbers are predominant in the hot dipole region. A cold collar is partly enhanced by a cold phase of slowly propagating waves with zonal wavenumber 1. Although such a complex dipole behavior has not been observed yet, it is likely to occur under a dynamical condition similar to the present simulation. Thus, the dynamical approach using a general circulation model might be useful for analyzing Venus Express and ground-based observation data.  相似文献

Propagating disturbances are often observed in active region fan-like coronal loops. They were thought to be due to slow mode magnetohydrodynamic waves based on some of the observed properties. However, recent studies involving spectroscopy indicate that they could be due to high speed quasi-periodic upflows which are difficult to distinguish from upward propagating slow waves. In this context, we have studied a fan loop structure in the active region AR 11465 using simultaneous spectroscopic and imaging observations from the Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer onboard Hinode and Atmospheric Imaging Assembly onboard Solar Dynamics Observatory. Analysis of the data shows significant oscillations at different locations. We explore the variations in different line parameters to determine whether the waves or flows could cause these oscillations to improve the current understanding of the nature of these disturbances.  相似文献

We have studied the nonlinear propagation of dust ion-acoustic (DIA) waves in a dusty multi-ion dense plasma (with the constituents being degenerate, either non-relativistic or ultra-relativistic) and the propagation of such waves have been investigated by the reductive perturbation method. From the stationary solution of the Korteweg de-Vries (K-dV) equation and Burgers’ equation the nonlinear waves (specially, solitary and shock waves) have been found to be formed in the dusty plasma system under consideration. It has shown that the basic features of these waves are significantly modified by both the positive and negative ions and dust number densities, the degenerate of the constituents. The implications of our results have been briefly discussed.  相似文献

This paper discusses the role played by the interstellar gas in spiral galaxies, using a two-disk model, one for the stars, one for the gas. The following conclusions are drawn. 1. When stars and gas have different velocity dispersions, the stellar and gaseous arm must separate. 2. Such a separation makes the spiral mode of density waves unstable. 3. The ratio η between the densities of gas and stars must be less than a certain value for density waves to be maintained.4.The smaller η is,the more tightly wound will be the arms.  相似文献

Thunderstorms in Jupiter’s atmosphere are likely to be prodigious generators of acoustic waves, as are thunderstorms in Earth’s atmosphere. Accordingly, we have used a numerical model to study the dissipation in Jupiter’s thermosphere of upward propagating acoustic waves. Model simulations are performed for a range of wave periods and horizontal wavelengths believed to characterize these acoustic waves. The possibility that the thermospheric waves observed by the Galileo Probe might be acoustic waves is also investigated. Whereas dissipating gravity waves can cool the upper thermosphere through the effects of sensible heat flux divergence, it is found that acoustic waves mainly heat the Jovian thermosphere through effects of molecular dissipation, sensible heat flux divergence, and Eulerian drift work. Only wave-induced pressure gradient work cools the atmosphere, an effect that operates at all altitudes. The sum of all effects is acoustic wave heating at all heights. Acoustic waves and gravity waves heat and cool the atmosphere in fundamentally different ways. Though the amplitudes and mechanical energy fluxes of acoustic waves are poorly constrained in Jupiter’s atmosphere, the calculations suggest that dissipating acoustic waves can locally heat the thermosphere at a significant rate, tens to a hundred Kelvins per day, and thereby account for the high temperatures of Jupiter’s upper atmosphere. It is unlikely that the waves detected by the Galileo Probe were acoustic waves; if they were, they would have heated Jupiter’s thermosphere at enormous rates.  相似文献
