Reproduction by sexual or asexual viviparity is a common phenomenon in some anemone species. In this short communication, the origin of the brooded young of Actinia equina and A. schmidti from the Portuguese shore was investigated. DNA was extracted from 56 brooding adult Actinia sp. and the nuclear gene that codes for the 28S ribosomal subunit was sequenced. Species identity was then assessed using GenBank. In total, 50 individuals were A. schmidti, five were A. equina and one had a hybrid origin. Three adult anemones (the hybrid, one A. equina and one A. schmidti) possessed two different 28S sequences and so their offspring was selected for further analysis using the same molecular procedure. Each brooded polyp was found to possess the exact same sequence as its parent, strongly suggesting the asexual origin of broods in A. equina and A. schmidti.  相似文献

斑海豹(Phoca largha Pallas)的淡水饲养繁殖,国内尚未见详细报道。本文就济南动物园淡水饲养繁殖海豹的成功经验予以报道。斑海豹淡水饲养繁殖,需要有适宜的生态环境,尤其是水温一般不得超过26~28℃。海豹池的构造、水质、饲料也是关键问题。斑海豹的妊娠期为一年,正负5~20天左右。2~3月产仔,每胎一仔。其生殖期也是交配期,交配时间5~7天。仔海豹的哺乳期为26~28天,28日龄后即独立生活。仔海豹自17日龄开始退脱胎毛,约26日龄退完。仔海豹停止哺乳后4~6天换食鱼类。  相似文献

本文对黄河南部小黄鱼繁殖群体进行了常规生物学测定。研究分析了体长组成和体重组成、体长和体重关系、性比的变化、怀卵量及性腺的发育情况。总样品中的性比组成为雌:雄=1:2.7,且雄鱼比例逐月上升;测算其怀卵量在2686-34704粒之间,平均怀卵量为9518粒;性成熟系数3月中旬为116‰,5月下旬只有33‰;绝对繁殖力(F)与体重(W)的关系式为:F=549.37W-4861.79(R=0.917)。  相似文献

多世代培养蒙古裸腹溞生长与生殖的比较   总被引:3,自引:2,他引:1  
本文对蒙古裸腹(MoinamongolicaDaday)一休眠卵所孵化的孤雌生殖个体进行连续15个世代的培养,最终统计、比较不同世代的生长与生殖。结果表明:(1)蒙古裸腹孤雌生殖雌体的体长与日龄呈正对数相关关系,其平均寿命为8.4±5.5d,87.5%的寿命在两周以内。蒙古裸腹产幼前发育期通常为6~7d;一生平均繁殖1胎,每胎产8.2±4.0只幼体。(2)不同世代蒙古裸腹的平均生殖量和净生殖率(R0)随世代数的增加而呈现出衰退趋势;其生长、繁殖次数、内禀增长能力(rm)、世代平均周期(T)以及增长的周限速率(λ)随世代数的不同而有所波动,但与世代数没有明显的相关性。  相似文献

Some populations of gelatinous zooplankton appear to be increasing and causing ecological disruptions during large bloom events. The goal of this study was to investigate the life history and population dynamics of the small, invasive Moerisia sp. and its potential ecological impacts in the upper San Francisco Estuary, California. Medusae and polyps were collected from 8 and 2 sites, respectively, during 2007 and 2008. Polyps emerged from a resting stage during June. Asexual reproduction of medusae buds was positively correlated with temperature and negatively related to salinity. The production of polyp buds was positively correlated with dissolved oxygen and water transparency levels. Sexual reproduction, defined by the presence of eggs, was related to the size of medusae. Cessation of reproduction of both polyps and medusae occurred in October, when temperatures dropped below 17 °C. This life history is similar to other hydrozoans and allows Moerisia sp. to reach large numbers seasonally in the San Francisco Estuary, possibly contributing to the recent declines of pelagic fish and zooplankton.  相似文献

利用组织学和超微结构方法,对大连黄海海域的繁茂膜海绵(Hymeniacidonsp.)在自然海域的生长和生殖过程的组织学特征进行了近2a的观察。结果表明:繁茂膜海绵的生长呈现周期性变化,分为4个阶段:复苏期(3~5月)、生长旺盛期(6~8月)、衰退期(9~11月)和冬眠期(12月—次年2月)。繁茂膜海绵可以通过有性生殖进行繁殖,显著生殖期为8~10月,期间可以观察到卵细胞、精细胞囊、胚胎和幼虫。研究结果为深入研究繁茂膜海绵自然生长生殖特点,进而实现海绵组织块的继代培养和人工育种提供实验依据。  相似文献

Species traits that carry adaptive advantages such as reproductive timing and stress resilience may differ among populations. Knowledge and consideration of these traits should, therefore, be integrated into conservation efforts that include long‐term persistence of species. To test for adaptive differences between Olympia oyster, Ostrea lurida, populations a reciprocal transplant experiment was carried out monitoring survival, growth and reproduction using three established populations of O. lurida within Puget Sound, WA, USA. Performance differed for each population. Ostrea lurida from Dabob Bay had the highest survival at all sites but the lowest reproductive activity and growth. Oysters from Oyster Bay demonstrated the greatest proportion of brooding females at a majority of sites with moderate growth and survival. Together these data suggest the existence of O. lurida population structure within Puget Sound and provide information on how broodstock should be selected for restoration purposes.  相似文献

The West Coast dusky kob Argyrosomus coronus is an understudied yet important fishery species in Angola. During a five-year study (2005–2009), the species was recorded in all fishery sectors, but was most important in the inshore recreational fishery in southern Angola (Cunene Estuary to Namibe). Early juveniles (<300 mm total length, TL) were captured in the offshore artisanal fishery at Praia Pinda, whereas juveniles (300–600 mm TL), subadults (600–870 mm TL) and adults (>870 mm TL) were captured in all fisheries as far north as Namibe, and shoals of large adult fish (>1 000 mm TL) were occasionally captured in the offshore purse-seine commercial fishery between the Cunene Estuary and Lucira. Because some Argyrosomus species are morphologically cryptic, a DNA barcoding method was used to confirm the taxonomic status of the biological samples used in this study. The male:female sex ratio of examined samples was 1:1.4 (n = 225). The length-at-50% maturity was 823 mm and 904 mm TL for males and females respectively. Age-at-50% maturity was 4.4 and 4.3 years for males and females respectively. The periodicity of otolith ring formation was confirmed to be one year using a marginal zone and a chemical marking analysis. Growth (in mm TL) was best described by: Lt = 1 826(1—e?0.12(t + 1.60)). Argyrosomus coronus fed predominantly on fish, mainly Sardinella aurita (62% frequency of occurrence). Early juveniles appeared to frequent the offshore zone (50–100 m depth), moving into the inshore region at approximately 300 mm TL. Juveniles and subadults were resident (57% recaptured at the same site) and were particularly abundant around the mouth of the Cunene Estuary as well as in central and northern Namibia. Adults undertake migrations that correspond with the movement of the Angola–Benguela frontal zone, moving north as far as Gabon in winter and returning to southern Angola in spring, when spawning appeared to take place offshore. There are currently no catch restrictions on A. coronus in Angolan waters. However, declining catches and increasing fishing effort suggest that some management intervention is required, commencing with a proposed closure of the Cunene Estuary mouth region to fishing.  相似文献

This paper deals with vegetative reproduction by multicellular propagules in Rhodophyta. An extensive examination of the relevant literature shows that this phenomenon in Rhodophyta is not well known. A propagule is here defined as a vegetative multicellular structure which spontaneously detaches from the parent thallus and gives rise to a new individual. The origin and morphological features of multicellular propagules are examined in the various known propagule‐forming species. The importance of multicellular propagules as both overwintering and resting organs and as a taxonomic feature is also shown. Their role in increasing local populations and/or for long‐distance dispersal is discussed. The relative abundance of vegetative reproduction by multicellular propagules versus sexual reproduction, as well as the advantages of this additional mode of reproduction, are shown and discussed. The production of multicellular propagules may contribute to the capacity of species to increase populations, to weather unpredictable environmental changes, to survive in conditions that would be lethal for entire thalli, and to reach new habitats. As resting organs, they may also be responsible for long‐distance dispersal and may account for the introduction of some alien species. Accordingly, propagule‐forming species are probably more competitive than taxa that do not produce such propagules. These considerations should be taken into account in future studies of the biology, ecology and demography of Rhodophyta.  相似文献

本文报道从杭州西湖筛选分离的两种淡水硅藻,即尖针杆藻Synedraacus和谷皮菱形藻Nitzschiapalea对西湖两种淡水浮游桡足类,即近亲拟剑水蚤Paracyclopsaffinis和大尾真剑水蚤Eucyclopsmucrroides卵孵化率的影响。结果表明,在较高密度的硅藻培养液(1.2×104~5.4×104个/cm3)中培养的桡足类动物,其卵的孵化率比生活在自然水体中的有明显降低,并发现该密度的实验硅藻对其摄食者——桡足类的母体也产生一定的毒害作用。该实验结果与已报道的某些海洋硅藻对海洋桡足类存在毒害作用的结果,对水域生态系食物链(网)中硅藻作用的传统概念提出了挑战,对水域生态学研究提出了新课题。  相似文献

Being a sediment feeder, the lugworm Arenicola marina could be a suitable candidate organism for the biomonitoring of sediment-bound contaminants in intertidal areas. Since lugworms are only rarely used in environmental monitoring, little is known about the natural variation in their body residue levels. In this study, we assessed the importance of seasonal fluctuations, spatial variation and sexual development to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) residues in lugworms. Over a period of 15 months, lugworms were sampled along a contamination gradient in the Western Scheldt estuary in the Netherlands. A clear seasonal pattern in the body residue levels of PAH was observed, with lowest levels in March and highest levels just prior to the spawning season in September. During the spawning season the body residue levels showed a marked decrease. Although this seasonal pattern is apparently related to the reproductive cycle of the lugworm, no clear differences in body residue levels were found between animals with or without developed gonads. The contamination gradient, present in the estuary, was clearly reflected in the body residue levels of PAH. The expected gradient of internal concentrations was, however, absent in October, when the spawning period was not yet finished. The variation in lugworm body residue levels was smaller than the fluctuations in sediment PAH levels. It can be concluded that the lugworm is a suitable organism for the biomonitoring of sediment-bound contaminants, provided that attention is paid to its reproductive cycle.  相似文献
