Intermediate mass pre-main sequence stars (1.5 to 5 M
)cross the instability strip on their way to the main sequence.They are therefore expected to be pulsating in a similar way as the Scuti stars. In this review, I present the status of observational studies ofpulsations in these stars, and comment on prospects for futureinvestigations of these pulsations from the ground and from space. 相似文献

Medium-resolution (1.5-2.5 Å) spectrum has been obtained for SC star GP Ori in a wide range of wavelengths from 3730 to 6250 Å. It is characterised mainly by strong atomic lines, as well as moderately strong bands of the CN violet system and CH (0,0) and (0,1) bands at 4315 and 4890 Å. Weak bands of C2, C3, and ZrO molecules are observed, however, no evidence is found for the presence of either SiC2 (Merrill-Sanford bands) or YO. The most prominent atomic lines along with the NaID12 are those of CaII (K,H), CaI at 4227 Å, SrI at 4607 Å, SrII at 4077 and 4215 Å, and BaII at 4554 Å. H

The collapse of iron-oxygen stars with masses of 2M
has been calculated. The commencement of the collapse is due to dissociation of iron-group nuclei into free nucleons. After a while, the collapse proceeds in consequence of intensive energy losses due to neutrino volume radiation. At an intermediate stage of the collapse, the core — opaque with respect to neutrino radiation (neutrino core) — is formed inside the collapsing star. Both the gradual increase of the mass of the neutrino core and the partial absorption of neutrinos radiated from the surface of the neutrino core by the stellar envelope (deposition) were taken into account in our calculations. The kinetics of oxygen burning in the outer layers of the envelope was also allowed for. Neither the deposition, nor the oxygen burning, result in ejection of stellar envelopes. 相似文献

A model of a first generation intermediate star of 5M
, with Z=0 has been considered. The model is at an advanced stage of its evolution and has a double shell burning. It burns helium in the inner shell, and hydrogen, via CNO cycle, in the outer shell.

of mean molecular weight and the effect of the oscillations of abundances due to nuclear reactions, stability was studied. Contrary to the results of the static calculations, we found that instability due to the excitation mechanism provided by the high temperature sensitivity of energy generation rate propagates up to the surface. The star I-I-42 (=vZ1390),a cluster member in M3,located near the red edge of the instability strip of the horizontal branch,was discovered by Roberts and Sandage as a low amplitude variable,it was designated as V204 in the "second catalogue of variable stars in globular clusters",but its coordinates given in all versions of this catalogue are wrong since 1955. We argue that V204 is indeed a low amplitude HB variable star,located near to the red edge of the instability strip,with a period of 0.74785d and an amplitude of about 0.04mag in V . We also find that the red cluster member star I-I-39 is a low amplitude variable with a period of 1.16d and amplitude of about 0.03mag in V which might be pulsating at the second overtone. 相似文献

A theoretical model for explaining the O‘Connell effect of close binary stars is given based on the hypothesis that the circumstellar material of a binary system is captured by its components.The results inferred form the model suggest that late-type and /or short-period binaries can easily produce obvious O‘Connell effect and that the occurrence of O‘Connell effect has no relation with the type of binaries,These conclusions are in agreement with the observed results.The observed O‘Connell effects of six binary systems are examined by the model.For three W-subtype W UMa binaries(YY Eri,BX Per and SW Lac).the densities of the materials captured by the two components are assumed to be equal,and the calculated O‘Connell effect is found to be almost equal to the observed effect.For three A-subtype W UMa systems(CN And,FG Hya and AU Ser),the two densities are assumed to be different,and are calculated separately.The calculated O‘Connell effect turns out to agree better with the observed effect than that was formerly obtained. 相似文献

The sunspot-associated sources at the frequency of 17 GHz give information on plasma parameters in the regions of magnetic
field about B=2000 G at the level of the chromosphere-corona transition region. The observations of short period (from one to ten minutes)
oscillations in sunspots reflect propagation of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves in the magnetic flux tubes of the sunspots.
We investigate the oscillation parameters in active regions in connection with their flare activity. We confirm the existence
of a link between the oscillation spectrum and flare activity. We find differences in the oscillations between pre-flare and
post-flare phases. In particular, we demonstrate a case of powerful three-minute oscillations that start just before the burst.
This event is similar to the cases of the precursors investigated by Sych et al. (Astron. Astrophys.
505, 791, 2009). We also found well-defined eight-minute oscillations of microwave emission from sunspot. We interpret our observations
in terms of a relationship between MHD waves propagating from sunspots and flare processes. 相似文献

We have collected nearly all the available observed data of the elements from Ba to Dy in halo and disk stars in the metallicity range -4.0 <[Fe/H]< 0.5. Based on the observed data of Ba and Eu, we evaluated the least-squares regressions of [Ba/Fe] on [Fe/H], and [Eu/H] on [Ba/H]. Assuming that the heavy elements (heavier than Ba) are produced by a combination of the main components of s- and r-processes in metal-poor stars, and choosing Ba and Eu as respective representative elements of the main s- and the main r-processes, a statistical model for predicting the Galactic chemical evolution of the heavy elements is presented. With this model, we calculate the mean abundance trends of the heavy elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, and Dy with the metallicity. We compare our results with the observed data at various metallicities, showing that the predicted trends are in good agreement with the observed trends, at least for the metallicity range [Fe/H]> -2.5. Measurements of the composition and spatial distribution of pick-up ions inside the heliosphere are reviewed. The first interstellar
4He+pick-up ions were detected with the SULEICA instrument on the AMPTE spacecraft near Earth's orbit. Most data on pick-up ions
were taken in the solar-wind and suprathermal energy range of SWICS on Ulysses while the spacecraft cruised from 1.4 to 5.4
AU and explored the high-latitude heliosphere and solar wind from the ecliptic to ± 80° heliolatitude. This includes the discovery of H+, 4He++, 3He+, N+,O+, and Ne+ pick-up ions that originate from the interstellar neutralgas penetrating the heliosphere. From their fluxes properties of
the interaction region between the heliosphere and the Local Interstellar Cloud such as the limits on filtration and the strength
of the interstellar magnetic field have been revealed. Detailed analysis of the velocity distributions of pick-up ions led
to 1) the discovery of a new distinct source, the so-called Inner Source, consisting of atoms released from interstellar and
interplanetary dust inside the heliosphere, 2) the determination of pick-up ion transport parameters such as the long mean
free path for pitch-angle scattering of order1 AU, and 3) detailed knowledge on the very preferential injection and acceleration
of pick-up ions during interplanetary energetic particle events such as Co-rotating Interaction Regions and Coronal Mass Ejections.
SWICS measurements have fully confirmed the theory of Fisk, Koslovsky, and Ramaty that pick-up ions derived from the interstellar
gas are the dominant source of the Anomalous Cosmic Rays; they are pre-accelerated inside the heliosphere and re-accelerated
at the solar-wind Termination Shock according to Pesses, Eichler, and Jokipii. The data indicate that the Inner Source of
pick-up ionsis largely responsible for the occurence of C+ in the Anomalous Cosmic Rays. The abundances of recently discovered Inner-Source Mg+ and Si+ are solar-wind like and consistent with their abundances in the energetic particles associated with Co-rotating Interaction
Regions. Knowledge on the injection and acceleration processes in Co-rotating Interaction Regions is applied to discuss the
current observational evidence for the Interplanetary Focusing Cone of the interstellar neutral gas due to the Sun's gravitational
force. The 25–150 keV/amu suprathermal 4He+ pick-up ion fluxes measured by CELIAS/STOF on board SOHO over 360° of ecliptic longitude represent a `local' ionization and acceleration of interstellar atoms at 1 AU or smaller heliocentric
distances. Completing the first limited data set of SULEICA/AMPTE on 4He+ pick-up ions they indicate a density enhancement in the Interplanetary Focusing Cone which is confirmed by recent SWICS/ACE
data. Clear evidence for signatures in ecliptic longitude are found in the data on energetic neutral H fluxes observed with
the CELIAS/HSTOF sensor on board SOHO. These fluxes are enhanced in the upstream and downstream directions of the interstellar
wind. Detection of energetic H atoms, which propagate unaffected by the Heliospheric Magnetic Field, provided for the first
time a diagnostic tool for observations near Earth to analyze the structure in ecliptic longitude of the interface region
between the heliosphere and the Local Interstellar Cloud.

The formation of planetesimals in the early Solar System is hardly understood, and in particular the growth of dust aggregates above millimeter sizes has recently turned out to be a difficult task in our understanding (Zsom, A., Ormel, C.W., Güttler, C., Blum, J., Dullemond, C.P. [2010]. Astron. Astrophys., 513, A57). Laboratory experiments have shown that dust aggregates of these sizes stick to one another only at unreasonably low velocities. However, in the protoplanetary disk, millimeter-sized particles are known to have been ubiquitous. One can find relics of them in the form of solid chondrules as the main constituent of chondrites. Most of these chondrules were found to feature a fine-grained rim, which is hypothesized to have formed from accreting dust grains in the solar nebula. To study the influence of these dust-coated chondrules on the formation of chondrites and possibly planetesimals, we conducted collision experiments between millimeter-sized, dust-coated chondrule analogs at velocities of a few cm s?1. For 2 and 3 mm diameter chondrule analogs covered by dusty rims of a volume filling factor of 0.18 and 0.35–0.58, we found sticking velocities of a few cm s?1. This velocity is higher than the sticking velocity of dust aggregates of the same size. We therefore conclude that chondrules may be an important step towards a deeper understanding of the collisional growth of larger bodies. Moreover, we analyzed the collision behavior in an ensemble of dust aggregates and non-coated chondrule analogs. While neither the dust aggregates nor the solid chondrule analogs show sticking in collisions among their species, we found an enhanced sicking efficiency in collisions between the two constituents, which leads us to the conjecture that chondrules might act as “catalyzers” for the growth of larger bodies in the young Solar System. 相似文献

In this paper, we report a rare reflection effect eclipsing sdB+dM binary, 2M?1533+3759. It is the seventh eclipsing sdB+dM binary that has been discovered to date. This system has an orbital period of 0.16177042 day and a velocity semi-amplitude of 71.1 km?s?1. Using a grid of zero-metallicity NLTE model atmospheres, we derived T eff=29250 K, log?g=5.58 and [He/H]=?2.37 from spectra taken near the reflection effection minimum. Lightcurve modeling resulted in a system mass ratio of 0.301 and an orbital inclination angle of 86.6°. The derived primary mass for 2M?1533+3759, 0.376±0.055 M ⊙, is significantly lower than the canonical mass (0.48 M ⊙) found for most previously investigated sdB stars. This implies an initial progenitor mass >1.8 M ⊙, at least a main sequence A star and perhaps even one massive enough to undergo non-degenerate helium ignition. 相似文献
