JCZ-1T地震计LP通道数据可有效应用于地球自由振荡信号探测。利用泰安基准地震台JCZ-1T地震计LP通道120小时数据记录,获得2018年8月19日斐济MW 8.2深源地震激发的地球自由振荡,检测到基频球型振荡0S6-0S58几乎所有振型、球型振荡部分零级振型和高振型以及环形振荡部分基振型和高振型,与地球初步参考模型(PREM)的理论自由振荡周期进行对比,结果表明,振荡周期观测值与PREM理论值基本一致,二者微小差值应由地球介质的横向不均匀性和各向异性所致。  相似文献

The role of inertial waves in the dynamies of the Earth's fluid core has been investigated through laboratory experiments on a spheroidal shell of rotating fluid. In these experiments inertial waves of azimuthal wavenumber 1, Ekman number 0(10?5), Rossby number 0(10?1) were excited by precession of an inner spheroidal body. Proximity to resonance was achieved by adjusting the ratio of the frequency of precession of the inner body to the rotational speed of the container to be near the eigenfrequency of the inertial wave mode being studied. Once the system was near resonance the perturbation was stopped and ringdown records were obtained. Amplitude, eigenfrequency and decay rate were recovered simultaneously for the principal and neighbouring modes excited using an iterative linearized least squares procedure.The recovery of complex eigenfrequencies for non-axisymmetric inertial waves in this shell geometry has given experimental verification of their existence. For those waves of azimuthal wavenumber one, a significant nonlinear interaction among modes is inferred from the simultaneous recovery of neighbouring modes. Other non linear effects include a mean azimuthal flow which appears to be stable for the low spatial order modes studied. These results contrast with highly unstable mean flow found experimentally in similar experiments carried out in cylindrical geometry.  相似文献

The static Earth’s gravitational field has traditionally been described in geodesy and geophysics by the gravitational potential (geopotential for short), a scalar function of 3-D position. Although not directly observable, geopotential functionals such as its first- and second-order gradients are routinely measured by ground, airborne and/or satellite sensors. In geodesy, these observables are often used for recovery of the static geopotential at some simple reference surface approximating the actual Earth’s surface. A generalized mathematical model is represented by a surface integral equation which originates in solving Dirichlet’s boundary-value problem of the potential theory defined for the harmonic geopotential, spheroidal boundary and globally distributed gradient data. The mathematical model can be used for combining various geopotential gradients without necessity of their re-sampling or prior continuation in space. The model extends the apparatus of integral equations which results from solving boundary-value problems of the potential theory to all geopotential gradients observed by current ground, airborne and satellite sensors. Differences between spherical and spheroidal formulations of integral kernel functions of Green’s kind are investigated. Estimated differences reach relative values at the level of 3% which demonstrates the significance of spheroidal approximation for flattened bodies such as the Earth. The observation model can be used for combined inversion of currently available geopotential gradients while exploring their spectral and stochastic characteristics. The model would be even more relevant to gravitational field modelling of other bodies in space with more pronounced spheroidal geometry than that of the Earth.  相似文献

综合分析了中国数字地震台网(CDSN)改造后的5个长周期地震仪台站观测的3天的VHZ、VHE和VHN波形资料,利用功率谱密度估计方法,在没有对资料进行去固体潮处理的情况下,准确获得了2004年12月26日印度洋地震激发的0S3~0S78的基频球型振荡和部分谐频球型振荡和0T3~0T67的基频环型振荡,并与地球初步参考模型(PREM)的理论自由振荡周期进行了对比,发现实测振荡周期与PREM预测的振荡周期符合的很好.频率与PREM模型略微不一致的球型或环型振荡可以解释为地球介质的横向不均匀性和各向异性所致.因此地球自由振荡信息可用于揭示地球的三维不均匀结构信息或各向异性信息,并可能对区分地幔对流模式有所帮助.  相似文献

Based on the digital observational data from pendulum tilt-meters and water tube tilt-meters, the spheroidal free oscillations of the Earth, excited by the M_S8.0 Wenchuan earthquake of May 12, 2008, were obtained using the method of power spectral density estimation without any calculation to erase solid tides. The result matches well with the PREM results. Compared to the theoretical free oscillation from the PREM model, all relative errors are concentrated on 0.1% except for _0S_7, whose relative error is greater than 0.3%. This research provides a new method to determine the spheroidal modes of Earth's free oscillations from observations of the pendulum tilt-meter and water tube tilt-meter, which may be useful in the future study of the Earth's free oscillations.  相似文献

利用常熟地震台同场地观测的洞体应变仪、体应变仪、水管倾斜仪、垂直摆倾斜仪记录数据,采用小波变换与功率谱密度估计方法,检测2011年3月11日日本9.0级大地震激发的地球自由振荡信号,其中检测到47个球型基频振型(0S30S49)、15个环型基频振型(0T5—0T25)以及部分球型谐频振型,与地球初步参考模型(PREM)理论频率值基本符合,表明检测结果较好。对比结果显示:水管倾斜仪检测球型振荡振型能力最强,垂直摆倾斜仪检测环型振荡振型能力最强;体应变仪可检测到清晰的环型基频振型,且信噪比较高;倾斜仪对自由振荡信号的检测能力优于应变仪。  相似文献

We calculate normal modes of the laterally heterogeneous and anelastic earth model by using the variational method to include the coupling of the modes due to the asphericity of the earth. If the aspherical anelasticity correlates with the heterogeneity of elastic velocity structure, the quality factorQ of the split singlets has a correlation with the eigenfrequency. This can cause a center frequency shift of the spectral peak with time. We perform a synthetic experiment to examine whether the magnitude of the shift can become an observable for the realistic lateral heterogeneity model of anelasticity. The result of the experiment reveals that the shift of the center frequency is consistent with the initial estimate for the fundamental spheroidal modes used in the experiment. We then examine the actual seismograms of the June 9, 1994, Bolivian earthquake to determine if this shift of center frequency can be observed. Although the amount of the center frequency shift of each multiplet is large, there is no consistent shift of the center frequency that is predicted in the synthetic experiment.  相似文献

Spheroidal weathering, one of the important rock weathering styles, has been attributed to chemical weathering by the water from joint surfaces, and mechanical aspects of the weathering have not been well addressed. We made an investigation on spheroidal weathering of Miocene granite porphyry with well‐developed columnar joints and found that this spheroidal weathering proceeds through chemical processes and accompanying mechanical processes. The investigation of the textures, physical properties, mineralogy, and chemistry of the porphyry revealed the presence of a brown band on the surface margins of corestones, representing the oxidation of pyrite and chlorite, and the precipitation of iron hydroxides, and the consequent generation of micro‐cracks within the band. During weathering, oxidation progresses inwards from joints that surround the rindlets, including both high‐angle columnar and low‐angle planar joints, and causes rounding of the unweathered interior portion of the rock. Microscopic observations of the brown band embedded with fluorescent resin show that pores are first filled with iron hydroxides, and that micro‐cracks then form parallel to the oxidation front in the outer portion of the brown band. Iron hydroxide precipitation increases the P‐wave velocity in the brown band, while micro‐crack formation decreases the tensile strength of the rock. Where the brown band has thickened to ~6 cm, the micro‐cracks are connected to one another to create continuous cracks, which separate the rindlets from the corestone. Micro‐crack formation parallel to the corestone surface may be attributed to compressive stresses generated by small amounts of volumetric expansion due to the precipitation of iron hydroxides in the brown band. Earth surface is under oxidizing environments so that precipitation of iron hydroxides commonly occurs; the spheroidal weathering in this paper is a typical example of the combination of chemical and mechanical processes under such environments. Abstract

The ray method is used to study slow hydromagnetic waves in an incompressible, inviscid, perfectly conducting fluid of constant density in the presence of a constant toroidal magnetic field. The fluid is bounded below by a rigid sphere and above by a rigid spheroidal surface, and the mean fluid layer thickness is assumed to be small. Both the general time-dependent and time-harmonic (free oscillation) problems are studied and dispersion relations and conservation laws are derived. These results are applied to free oscillations with constant azimuthal wave number in a spherical shell and then compared to those of previous authors. Such oscillations propagate to the east and are trapped between circles of constant latitude. Wave propagation in axisymmetric shells is then studied with emphasis on the relationship between shell shape and direction of propagation, and it is found that such shells can sustain westward propagating modes wherever the shell thickness decreases sufficiently rapidly from a maximum at the poles to zero at the equator; no shells exist which can sustain westward propagation at the equator.  相似文献

地震方位各向异性广泛存在于地球上地幔中,目前利用地震体波或面波分析研究上地幔各向异性的地球物理方法有很多种,但是由于各自的局限性均难以分析上地幔过渡区中的各向异性特征.方位各向异性可导致球形简正模和环形简正模之间发生耦合.地球长周期自由振荡的简正模可深入到上地幔过渡区.本文利用各向异性地球模型计算各向异性简正模耦合深度敏感核,表明长周期(250~400 s)简正模各向异性耦合(如0S20-0T210S25-0T25)的敏感度峰值在400~600 km之间.在不受地球自转影响的台站,如位于南极极点的QSPA站,仍然可以观测到强烈的简正模耦合现象.本文的研究表明:只有在地震观测台站靠近长周期球形振荡的节点时,才能在其观测数据中观测到各向异性耦合现象,许多各向异性耦合在震后18~24 h期间最强,并可导致垂直方向的环形简正模的振幅大于球形耦合简正模的振幅.这些特征是在地震观测数据中寻找各向异性耦合的重要线索.长周期简正模的方位各向异性耦合为我们提供了一个新的认识上地幔过渡区各向异性的窗口.  相似文献

中国地震局地壳形变观测台网布设有垂直摆倾斜仪、钻孔倾斜仪、洞体应变仪、分量式钻孔应变仪与体应变仪等地形变观测仪器。这些观测仪器均记录到了2011年日本M_W9.0大地震激发的自由振荡信号。本文分别利用单台数据和多台数据叠积,检测到_0S_3~_0S_(30)全部的球型自由振荡基频振型和_0T_3~_0T_(20)全部的环型自由振荡基频振型及部分谐频振型。此外,通过对这些检测结果的对比,分析了它们对不同自由振荡类型、不同频段的振型检测能力。分析发现垂直摆倾斜仪对球型自由振荡的检测结果最佳,且由于在低频段有较高的噪声干扰,钻孔倾斜仪无法检测到低阶的球型自由振荡。对于环型自由振荡的检测,分量式钻孔应变仪检测结果最佳。  相似文献

Abstract

Reservoirs in the southern Pennines have been investigated to determine their potential for reconstructing a history of atmospheric pollution. A selection procedure has been used to identify sites with the best chance of obtaining a usable sedimentary record prior to sample collection. Five reservoirs were selected for core collection and sediment analysis using magnetic susceptibility (χlf), particle size, spheroidal carbonaceous particle (SCP) analysis and radiometric dating. Analysis reveals that largely undisturbed sedimentary records exist in the deepest zones of these reservoirs, thus reservoir sediments represent a valuable resource for investigating pollution histories in the southern Pennines.  相似文献

甚长周期VP型垂直摆倾斜仪对某些地球物理信号有特殊的敏感性,除了在观测小地震、慢地震等方面有优势之外,还可有效应用于低频地球自由振荡信号的探测.利用安置在武汉大学珞珈山的我国自行研制的VP型垂直摆倾斜仪在2011日本Mw9.0级大地震之后不同长度的观测数据,联合EEMD方法、自回归估计(AR)方法和bootstrap法,本文不仅检测到该地震激发的频率小于4.7 mHz的零阶球型振荡(0S2至0S38)和环型振荡(0T4至0T35)几乎所有振型以及15个谐频振型,还检测到5个其频率低于1mHz的低阶球型多线态(0S2、2S1、0S3、0S4和1S2)的部分或全部谱峰分裂现象,并给出了所有检测结果的精度评估.此外,本文分析了某些球型和环型振荡之间的耦合效应,结果表明耦合效应将显著影响地球自由振荡信号的相关参数.  相似文献

The aftershocks of the catastrophic Sumatra-Andaman earthquake of December 26, 2004 (M = 9.0) are analyzed in the general context of the theory of critical phenomena. The analysis relies on the idea that, according to this theory, critical transitions have two key properties. The first is that the intensity of the fluctuations in a dynamical system monotonically increases with the approach of the bifurcation point, so that at a certain time instant, a sufficiently strong internal pulse initiates the catastrophe. This transition can be treated as spontaneous. The second property is that the reactance of the dynamical system drastically increases on the approach of the bifurcation. Even a weak external perturbation in the near-threshold interval can result in a catastrophe. In this case, it is reasonable to refer to the critical transition as an induced transition. The aftershocks of the Sumatra-Andaman earthquake are likely to demonstrate the typical features of induced seismicity. First, the strongest aftershock (M = 7.2) occurred 3 h 20 min after the main shock. It could have probably been induced by the round-trip seismic echo. Second, it was found that the spectral density of the aftershock sequence significantly increases at about ~0.3 mHz, which is close to the frequency of the spheroidal mode 0S2. This suggests that the spheroidal oscillations of the Earth, which are excited by the main seismic shock, modulate the aftershock activity. Both hypotheses are supported by the analysis of the aftershocks of the Tohoku earthquake of March 11, 2011 (M = 9.0).  相似文献

对于谱元法中介质的非均匀分布尺度小于最小的理论波长以及复杂的间断面网格化难题,建立从微观到宏观的升尺度均匀化方程以及在不丢失波场计算精度对局部区域的微小尺度进行均匀化.利用传统的简正模计算方法求解本征频率和本征函数,给出了均匀化的结果,证明了均匀化计算方法的可行性和正确性;分析了基频简正模频率、理论地震图与均匀化参数,均匀化阶数之间的联系.并成功将之应用到SEM1D实验中,为下一步CSEM三维均匀化奠定基础.  相似文献
