Observations of H2O maser sources at 1.35 cm associated with extended regions of 4.5-µm emission (indicated as “green” on Spitzer survey maps—so-called Extended Green Objects, EGOs) are reported. EGOs are considered as characteristic signposts of regions of formation of massive stars, which host high-velocity outflows, as well as methanol, water, and hydroxyl masers. The observations were carried out in January–May 2015 on the 22-meter radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory. The sample studied includes 24 EGOs north of declination -29° taken from the Spitzer GLIMPSE survey, together with one of the brightest Class I methanol masers G6.05-1.45 (M8E) and the Class I methanol maser in an IRDC G359.94+0.17. H2O maser emission was detected toward 11 of the EGOs: G11.94-0.62, G14.33-0.64, G16.59-0.06, G23.01-0.41, G24.943+0.074, G28.83-0.25, G34.3+0.2, G34.403+0.233, G35.20-0.74, G45.47+0.07, and G49.267-0.337. These including the well known H2O maser in the W44 region, G34.3+0.2. H2O emission from G28.83-0.25 was detected for the first time, at 77.6 km/s, with a flux density of 19 Jy in January and 16 Jy in February 2015. The source was probably caught at an early stage of the propagation of a shock wave. The Class I methanol masers G359.94+0.17 and G6.05-1.45 (M8E) and 13 of the EGOs were not detected in the H2O line, with 3s upper limits of ~6-7 Jy. Spectra and maser-emission parameters are given for the detected H2Omasers, for some of which strong variability of the H2O maser emission was observed. The detected H2Omasers, together with the Class I methanol masers and extended 4.5-µm emission, are associated with a very early stage in the development of young stellar objects in the regions of the EGOs. However, this sample of EGOs is not uniform. The presence of 44-GHz Class I methanol masers together with EGOs cannot be considered the only sign of early stages of star formation.  相似文献

Data on detections of gamma-ray line emission with COMPTEL experiment on board the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory in 1991–2000 are discussed and used to analyze the properties of classical novae. This emission is radiated during the decay of the radioactive isotope 22Na, which should be synthesized in thermonuclear explosions occurring on these novae.  相似文献

Dissolution and precipitation rates of low defect Georgia kaolinite (KGa-1b) as a function of Gibbs free energy of reaction (or reaction affinity) were measured at 22 °C and pH 4 in continuously stirred flowthrough reactors. Steady state dissolution experiments showed slightly incongruent dissolution, with a Si/Al ratio of about 1.12 that is attributed to the re-adsorption of Al on to the kaolinite surface. No inhibition of the kaolinite dissolution rate was apparent when dissolved aluminum was varied from 0 and 60 μM. The relationship between dissolution rates and the reaction affinity can be described well by a Transition State Theory (TST) rate formulation with a Temkin coefficient of 2

Ammoniojarosite [(NH4,H3O)Fe3(OH)6(SO4)2], a poorly soluble basic ferric sulfate, was produced by microbiological oxidation of ferrous sulfate at pH 2.0-3.0 over a range of concentrations (5.4-805 mM) and temperatures (22-65 °C). Ammoniojarosites were also produced by chemical (abiotic) procedures in parallel thermal (36-95 °C) experiments. At 36 °C, schwertmannite [ideally Fe8O8(OH)6(SO4)] was the only solid product formed at <10 mM concentrations. Between 11.5 and 85.4 mM , a mixed product of ammoniojarosite and schwertmannite precipitated, as identified by X-ray diffraction. In excess of 165 mM , ammoniojarosite was the only solid phase produced. An increase in the incubation temperature using thermoacidophiles at 45 and 65 °C accelerated the formation of ammoniojarosite in culture solutions containing 165 mM . Both the biogenic and chemical ammoniojarosites were yellow (2Y-4Y in Munsell hue), low surface area (<1 m2/g), well crystalline materials with average co and ao unit cell parameters of 17.467 ± 0.048 Å and 7.330 ± 0.006 Å, respectively. Strong positive correlations were observed between unit cell axial ratios (co/ao) and increasing synthesis temperature in both biotic and abiotic systems. All samples were N deficient compared to stoichiometric ammoniojarosite, and both chemical and X-ray data indicated partial replacement of by H3O+ to form solid solutions with 0.14-0.24 mole H3O+ per formula unit. The morphology of the biogenic jarosites included aggregated discs, pseudo-cubic crystals and botryoidal particles, whereas the chemical specimens prepared at 36-95 °C were composed of irregular crystals with angular edges. Morphological information may thus be useful to evaluate environmental parameters and mode of formation. The data may also have application in predicting phase boundary conditions for Fe(III) precipitation in biogeochemical processes and treatment systems involving acid sulfate waters.  相似文献

Siderophores are Fe(III)-specific ligands produced by many aerobic microorganisms under conditions of iron stress. This study examined adsorption of the commercial trihydroxamate siderophore, desferrioxamine B (DFO-B), to an iron-containing kaolinite (0.1 bulk wt.% Fe) and examined DFO-B effects on initial kaolinite dissolution and iron release rates. Adsorption experiments were conducted at pH 3 to 8 in 0.01-M NaClO4 in the dark and at 22°C; batch initial dissolution experiments were conducted to 96 h.The adsorption envelope (i.e., adsorption as a function of pH) of DFO-B on kaolinite was consistent with cation-like behavior, with adsorption increasing above kaolinite’s pHpznpc of 4.9. DFO-B enhanced aluminum release from kaolinite at pH 3 to 7, relative to HNO3, which is consistent with the ligand’s high binding affinity for Al. Correlation between DFO-B adsorption and aluminum release suggested a surface-controlled, ligand-promoted dissolution mechanism. DFO-B had no effect relative to HNO3 on silicon release at pH 3 and 5, but moderately enhanced silicon release at pH 7. DFO-B enhanced iron release from kaolinite, with dissolved iron concentrations in the 10-ppb range at 96-h reaction time. These results show that kaolinite may serve as a source of iron to aerobic microorganisms in iron-limited conditions and that siderophores may affect kaolinite dissolution and iron content.  相似文献

The evolution of oceanic crust on the Kolbeinsey Ridge, north of Iceland, is discussed on the basis of a crustal transect obtained by seismic experiment from the Kolbeinsey Ridge to the Jan Mayen Basin. The crustal model indicates a relatively uniform structure; no significant lateral velocity variations are observed, especially in the lower crust. The uniform velocity structure suggests that the postulated extinct axis does not exist over the oceanic crust formed at the Kolbeinsey Ridge, but supports a model of continuous spreading along the ridge after oceanic spreading started west of the Jan Mayen Basin. The oceanic crust formed at Kolbeinsey Ridge is 1–2.5 km thicker than normal oceanic crust due to hotter-than-normal mantle from the Iceland Mantle Plume. The observed generally uniform thickness throughout the transect might also indicate that the temperatures of the astheno-spheric mantle ascending along the Kolbeinsey Ridge have not changed significantly since the age of magnetic anomaly 6B.  相似文献

Plant macrofossils from 33 rodent middens sampled at three sites between 2910 and 3150 m elevation in the main canyon of the Río Salado, northern Chile, yield a unique record of vegetation and climate over the past 22,000 cal yr BP. Presence of low-elevation Prepuna taxa throughout the record suggests that mean annual temperature never cooled by more than 5°C and may have been near-modern at 16,270 cal yr BP. Displacements in the lower limits of Andean steppe and Puna taxa indicate that mean annual rainfall was twice modern at 17,520–16,270 cal yr BP. This pluvial event coincides with infilling of paleolake Tauca on the Bolivian Altiplano, increased ENSO activity inferred from a marine core near Lima, abrupt deglaciation in southern Chile, and Heinrich Event 1. Moderate to large increases in precipitation also occurred at 11,770–9550 (Central Atacama Pluvial Event), 7330–6720, 3490–2320 and at 800 cal yr BP. Desiccation occurred at 14,180, 8910–8640, and 4865 cal yr BP. Compared to other midden sites in the region, early Holocene desiccation seems to have happened progressively earlier farther south. Emerging trends from the cumulative midden record in the central Atacama agree at millennial timescales with improved paleolake chronologies for the Bolivian Altiplano, implying common forcing through changes in equatorial Pacific sea-surface temperature gradients.  相似文献
