Improved data collection and processing technologies along with the use of high resolution spectral techniques soon will make it possible to obtain estimates of the Kelvin wave amplitude function A(θ), ship speed U, and ship heading α from synthetic aperture radar images of ship wakes. This paper presents a series of methods for deriving additional hull characteristics such as the length L, volume V, and offsets ζ(x,z) from this spectral and surface wave information. The first method estimates the ship length by taking the Fourier transform of the slope amplitude function |kA|. The remaining estimates make use of the hull inversion code developed at the University of Michigan by Wu in 1991. The accuracy of the hull offsets predicted by the code is first determined for various options for solving the linear inversion problem. In this case, both the magnitude and phase of A(θ) are known in addition to the hull draft H. Since the draft is not often known a priori, the accuracy of the code is determined next by predicting the volume of the ship for an approximate though plausible input value of H. Finally, the accuracy of the non-linear inversion problem of obtaining offsets along the entire hull is investigated when only the magnitude but not the phase of A(θ) is known.  相似文献

To dates,most ship detection approaches for single-pol synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imagery try to ensure a constant false-alarm rate(CFAR).A high performance ship detector relies on two key components:an accurate estimation to a sea surface distribution and a fine designed CFAR algorithm.First,a novel nonparametric sea surface distribution estimation method is developed based on n-order Bézier curve.To estimate the sea surface distribution using n-order Bézier curve,an explicit analytical solution is derived based on a least square optimization,and the optimal selection also is presented to two essential parameters,the order n of Bézier curve and the number m of sample points.Next,to validate the ship detection performance of the estimated sea surface distribution,the estimated sea surface distribution by n-order Bézier curve is combined with a cell averaging CFAR(CA-CFAR).To eliminate the possible interfering ship targets in background window,an improved automatic censoring method is applied.Comprehensive experiments prove that in terms of sea surface estimation performance,the proposed method is as good as a traditional nonparametric Parzen window kernel method,and in most cases,outperforms two widely used parametric methods,K and G0 models.In terms of computation speed,a major advantage of the proposed estimation method is the time consuming only depended on the number m of sample points while independent of imagery size,which makes it can achieve a significant speed improvement to the Parzen window kernel method,and in some cases,it is even faster than two parametric methods.In terms of ship detection performance,the experiments show that the ship detector which constructed by the proposed sea surface distribution model and the given CA-CFAR algorithm has wide adaptability to different SAR sensors,resolutions and sea surface homogeneities and obtains a leading performance on the test dataset.  相似文献

Based on the global position system(GPS) radiosonde data near the sea surface, the surface duct characteristics over the South China Sea(SCS) were statistically analyzed. The annual surface duct occurrence over the SCS was about 64%. Of the observed surface ducts, duct heights mainly distributed between 18 and 42 m, with M slopes in the range of –0.3 to –0.2 M units/m. Those ducts accounted for about 80% of the ducting cases. For the total profiles, the duct occurrences in a day changed slowly and were more than 60% in all times. The surface ducts formed more easily in the daytime than in the nighttime and most of the duct height were at bellow about 32 m.Additionally, The seasonal variation of the SCS ducts appeared to be evident, except that the mean duct thickness was almost constant, about 33 m for all seasons. The highest occurrence was about 71% in the autumn, followed by in the summer, spring and winter. In spring, their top-height existed more often at a height of more than 48 m.Their mean duct strength became stronger trend from spring to winter, with the M-slope in the range between–0.26 and –0.18 M units/m. Those results agreed well with other studies, provided considering the data resolution.The statistical analysis was reliable and gave the duct estimation for the SCS. Such duct climatology not only has important implications for communication systems and the reliability of the radar observation, but also can provide useful information to improve the accuracy of the meteorological radar measurements.  相似文献

Properties of the index of position of the Kuroshio axis in the Tokara Strait, named the Kuroshio position index (KPI), were examined using sea-level data during 1984–92. The index is KPI=(X+M x )/(Y+M y whereX(Y) is the anomaly of sea-level difference of Nakanoshima (Naze) minus Nishinoomote from the 1984–92 meanM x (M y ). The correlation with the latitude of the Kuroshio axis in the Tokara Strait concluded that the KPI withM x /M y =0.83 and realisticM y (100±40 cm) best indicates the position of the Kuroshio axis in the strait. The KPI withM x =83 cm andM y =100 cm was newly called the KPI as the best index. Using daily values of this KPI, the relation between the position of the Kuroshio in the strait and the large meander of the Kuroshio shown by Kawabe (1995) was confirmed and studied in detail. A large meander forms (ends) 3.3 (5.1) months after a northward (southward) shift of the Kuroshio in the Tokara Strait. Yet, a temporary southward shift with a duration of ten to twenty days does not finish the large-meander (LM) path. At the LM formation, a small meander southeast of Kyushu begins to move eastward associated with the northward shift. The processes of LM formation and decay are started by the meridional move of the Kuroshio axis in the Tokara Strait. The Kuroshio axis at the FES line during the LM path is located farther north by 7 latitude than that during the non-large-meander (NLM) path. The latitude during the LM formation (decay) stage is a little higher (lower) than that during the LM (NLM) period, though the Kuroshio still takes an NLM (LM) path.  相似文献

Abstract

To determine the position of. a ship with hyperbolic position systems, the minimim requirement is two position lines. However, because of the frequent occurrence of lane slips, it is necessary to observe at least three patterns to be able to control the observations. This redundant observation makes it possible to compute an estimation of the standard deviation of the standard error ellipse of the position. Furthermore, the best estimate and position are obtained by an adjustment. In the adjustment, one should introduce the effect of the correlation between the patterns. The adjustment, testing, and computation of the precision of the position are described. Some interesting geometrical features of the error figure of the observed lanes are derived.  相似文献

Abstract

A new method is proposed with the aim of reducing dead reckoning error (DRE) during multibeam echosounding survey in deep ocean. Bathymetric data is used in this method to estimate DRE in position fixing. This method can be activated at any desired interval to check the DRE accumulation in addition to available external navigation systems. A pattern recognition algorithm is developed to quantify the shift in position of a selected bathymetric feature that has been observed already once. This difference is used to correct the position fixing and navigation data.  相似文献

水产养殖动物的增重机制既是其生存对策的重要组成部分,也是影响其生长性能和养殖产量的重要内因。异育银鲫(Carassius auratus gibelio)是我国的重要养殖鱼类,随机选取池塘生态主养模式(M1)和池塘生态套养模式(M2)下经7个月养殖的异育银鲫夏花苗种各70尾为研究对象,以全长(X1)、体高(X2)、体宽(X3)、头长(X4)、侧线长(X5)、尾柄高(X6)、腹鳍间距(X7)、胸鳍间距(X8)为体尺性状,净体质量(NW)、肠质量(W1)、肝质量(W2)、胃质量(W3)、鳃质量(W4)、心质量(W5)和鳔质量(W6)为称量性状,采用多元分析方法分别研究了M1、M2实验群体尺寸性状和称量性状对其体质量(BW)的影响效应。结果表明: (1)生物学测定结果显示, CV值大于10%的均为质量性状,小于10%的均为体尺性状,除NW、X1X5X6均呈M1<M2 (P<0.05), X4和各脏器质量均呈M1>M2 (P<0.05)外,其余性状间均无显著差异(P>0.05); (2)相关分析显示,除W5与BW间相关系数均未达到显著水平(P>0.05)外,其余性状与BW间的相关系数均达到极显著水平(P<0.01); (3)经通径分析和复相关分析, M1、M2被保留体尺性状组合X5-X1-X2X2-X3-X1-X5的总决定系数和复相关指数均分别为0.889和0.927,称量性状组合NW-W2-W1-W3和NW-W2的总决定系数和复相关指数均分别为0.992和0.971; (4)经偏回归分析,得到了可用于估算BW的M1最优方程组和M2最优方程组。研究结果可为我国异育银鲫科学养殖提供有效参考。  相似文献

The drag and the interia coefficients Cd,CM of wave-current force on vertical pile are well related to the redefined Keulegan-Carpenter number N' Kc by the test data of the authors. The relation could be also used for irregular wave-current force to calculate in time domain. A simplified method for the calculation of cumulative probabilistic distribution of peak value of irregular wave-current force is also recommended in this paper. Methods of rapid analysis of the chlorophyll-a concentration vertical profile by the spectra of incident solar radiation are suggested. The methods are applicable for the ocean layerz=20–80 m containing waters of type 1 (by Morel's classification). Testing of the methods underin situ conditions showed that they can be used to reconstructC ch(z) profiles, with a relative error of 10% and a root-meansquare error of 20–30% at most, provided the data are calibrated using field observations conducted at two or three sites in the test area.Translated by Vladimir A. The phases and amplitudes of the M2 and S2 constituents of tidal elevation in Coiok Strait may be adequately described as an open mouth reflection of tidal waves advancing from the east and west coasts of New Zealand and reflecting near the latitudes of Titahi Bay and Cape Campbell (a distance of approximately 60 km). Other reflection conditions give amplitude and phase distributions different from those observed. Best fits to the observed phases and amplitudes for the M2 tide elevation arise from non‐rotational one‐dimensional solutions which allow for the bathymetry. If rotation is introduced in the form of Kelvin Wave solutions, the result is a two‐dimensional phase‐distribution pattern qualitatively similar to that observed, with the change in phase more rapid and the tidal amplitude smaller on the eastern than on the western side of Cook Strait.

The solution for the S2 tide also fits closest to the observed tidal elevations for the non‐rotational one dimensional solution, but the introduction of rotation leads to a two‐dimensional phase‐distribution pattern qualitatively similar to that observed. The ratio of the amplitude of the wave (£) advancing from the northwest into Cook Strait to that (A) advancing from the southeast is substantially greater for the S2 (B/A = 11) than for the M2 (B/A = 2) tidal constituent and leads to the region of most rapid phase change for S2 being shifted further to the south than that for M2.  相似文献

Two computations of the KCS model with motions are presented. Self-propulsion in model scale free to sink and trim are studied with the rotating discretized propeller from the Hamburg Model Basin (HSVA) at Fr = 0.26. This case is particularly complex to simulate due to the close proximity of the propeller to the rudder. The second case involves pitch and heave in regular head waves. Computations were performed with CFDShip-Iowa version 4.5, a RANS/DES CFD code designed for ship hydrodynamics. The self-propulsion computations were carried out following the procedure described in Carrica et al. [1], in which a speed controller is used to find the propeller rotational speed that results in the specified ship velocity. The rate of revolutions n, sinkage, trim, thrust and torque coefficients KT, KQ and resistance coefficient CT(SP) are thus obtained. Comparisons between CFD and EFD show that the rate of revolutions n, thrust and torque coefficients KT and KQ have higher prediction accuracies than sinkage and trim. For the simulation of pitch and heave in head waves, the geometry includes KCS hull and rudder under three conditions with two Froude numbers and three wave length and amplitude combinations. 0th and 1st harmonic amplitudes and 1st harmonic phase are computed for total resistance coefficient CT, heave motion z and pitch angle θ. Comparisons between CFD and EFD show that pitch and heave are much better predicted than the resistance. In both cases comparisons with simulations by other authors presented at the G2010 CFD Workshop [2] using different CFD methodologies are included.  相似文献

Four geosim families, with fully available resistance test results, have been re-analyzed to check the possible scale effect on the form factor. The form factor determined by Prohaska's method, with exponent n=4 and ITTC'57 correlation line, increases with the model size in all four cases analyzed. Because of its high correlation coefficient, a linear variation of the form factor with the scale is assumed. It is possible to have a first estimation of the ship's form factor extrapolating for λ=1 in the regression line. Form factor Reynolds number dependency will always be associated with a friction line. Using the ITTC'57 correlation line, the following equation KSKM=1.91·(λ−1)·10−3 can be used to estimate the scale effect on the form factor. Calculations carried out, for axisymetric bodies, with some CFD codes are in good agreement with the experimental findings.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Having a reliable ocean carbon flux (f(CO2)) retrieval model is essential to monitoring the global carbon cycle and to evaluating the climate change. Remote sensing techniques provide alternatives for f(CO2) retrieval with its advantages of wide area surveys and real-time monitoring. In the present study, a semianalytical f(CO2) estimation model was developed based on remote sensing data and in situ measurements in the Chinese Bohai Sea. The used model performed well (R2?=?0.84) in deriving f(CO2) based on the collected remotely sensed dataset, including sea surface temperature, estimated sea surface salinity, wind speed, Chl-a concentration. The results showed that the distribution of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (p(CO2)) and f(CO2) varied spatially and temporally during the 12 months in 2009. The spatial fluctuations of p(CO2) and f(CO2) in Bohai Sea in summer and autumn were more obvious than that in Spring and Winter. The highest values of p(CO2) and f(CO2) generally appeared in coastal regions. Moreover, the average f(CO2) value of the 12 months showed that the Bohai Sea performed as a weak carbon source in 2009. The results provided technical and data support for carbon management and climate negotiation in the Bohai Sea.  相似文献

The hydrolysis of silicic acid, Si(OH)4, was studied in a simplified seawater medium (0.6 M Na(Cl)) at 25°C. The measurements were performed as potentiometric titrations (hydrogen electrode) in which OH was generated coulometrically. The total concentration of Si(OH)4, B, and log[H+] were varied within the limits 0.00075 B 0.008 M and 2.5 -log[H+] 11.7, respectively. Within these ranges the formation of SiO(OH)3 and SiO2(OH)22− with formation constants log β−11(Si(OH)4 SiO(OH)3 + H+) = −9.472 ±0.002 and log β−21(Si(OH)4 SiO2(OH)22− + 2H+) = −22.07 ± 0.01 was established. With B > 0.003 M polysilicate complexes are formed, however, with -log[H+] 10.7 their formation does not significantly affect the evaluated formation constants. Data were analyzed with the least squares computer program LETAGROPVRID.  相似文献

A three-dimensional hydrodynamic model has been developed to simulate water mass circulation in estuarine systems. This model is based on the primitive equation in Cartesian coordinates with a terrain-following structure, coupled with a Mellor–Yamada 2.5 turbulence scheme. A fractional-step method is applied and the subset of equations is solved with finite volume and finite element methods. A dry–wet process simulates the presence of the tidal flat at low water. River inputs are introduced using a point-source method. The model was applied to a partially mixed, macrotidal, temperate estuary: Southampton Water, UK. The model is validated by comparisons with sea surface elevation, ADCP measurements and salinity data collected in 2001. The mean spring range 2(M2 + S2) and the mean neap range 2(M2 − S2) are modelled with an error relative to observation of 12 and 16%, respectively. The unique tidal regime of the system with the presence of the ‘young flood stand’ corresponding to the slackening conditions occurring at mid flood and ‘double high water’ corresponding to an extension of the slackening conditions at high tide is accurately reproduced in the model. The dynamics of the modelled mean surface and bottom velocity closely match the ADCP measurements during neap tides (rms of the difference is 0.09 and 0.01 m s−1 at the bottom and at the surface, respectively), whereas at spring the difference is greater (rms of the difference is 0.25 and 0.20 m s−1 at bottom and surface, respectively). The spatial and temporal variation of the degree of stratification as indicated by salinity distributions compares well with observations.  相似文献

传统的渔业资源评估方法对数据有一定的要求,而现有的许多渔业缺乏相关数据,造成了渔业评估和管理上的障碍。特别是自然死亡率,由于观测和计算的困难,研究中一般通过经验公式等方法进行假话,而不同来源的数据和估算方法的结果存在较大差异,可能导致在渔业资源评估和管理中很大的不确定性。本研究以蓝点马鲛(Scomberomorus niphonius)为例,利用MSE比较了22种基于有限数据的渔业管理规程(MP),筛选出DCAC、SPMSY、curE75、minlenLopt1 4种对于M不确定性较为稳健的的管理方法,并针对不同年代的自然死亡率以及通过不同计算方法得出的自然死亡率对这4种MP进行了管理策略评价。结果表明:M自1980s至今的不同年代间有显著降低趋势,该变化对MP管理效果产生了较强影响。随着M降低,种群B>0.5BMSY的概率显著上升,而过度捕捞可能性在不同MP间有方向性的差异。M变化对对curE75、minlenLopt1的长期产量的影响较小,而对DCAC、SPMSY的AAVY<15%的可能性变化较大,即降低产量的波动。不同M估算方法的估计值相差不大,对MP管理影响不明显。综合结果来看,Cur75受自然死亡率不确定性影响较小,对于渔业资源的开发和保护两个方面有着最好的权衡,最适用于我国蓝点马鲛渔业的管理。  相似文献

Using density functional theory and quantum transport calculations based on nonequilibum Green's function formalism, we investigate the charge transport properties of endohedral M@C20 (M= Na and K) metallofullerenes. Our results show that the conductance of C20 fullerene can be obviously improved by insertion of alkali atom at its centre. Both linear and nonlinear sections are found on the I-V curves of the Au-M@C20-Au two-probe systems. The novel negative differential resistance behaviour is also observed in Na@C20 molecule but not in K@C20.  相似文献

The tsunami warning system in the Russian Far East employs the medium-period magnitude MS (BB) by Vaniek–Soloviev. However, its use may lead to inadequacies and underestimates for the tsunamigenic potential of an earthquake. Specifically, this can happen in the case of a so-called tsunami–earthquake. This kind of earthquakes with a nonstandard spectrum was revealed by H. Kanamori in 1972. This problem can be overcome by using a magnitude scale that deals with longer period seismic waves. This study develops a technique for determining the magnitudes at regional distances (from 70 to 4500 km) using the amplitudes of surface seismic waves of periods of 40 and 80 s. At distances of 70–250 km, the amplitude of the joint group of shear and surface waves is used. For the new magnitudes designated M S(40) and M S(80), experimental calibration curves are constructed using more than 1250 three-component records at 12 stations of the region. The magnitudes are calibrated so as to produce an unbiased estimate of the moment magnitude M w in the critical range 7.5–8.8. The rms error of the single-station estimate M w is around 0.27. At distances below 250 km and M w ≥ 8.3, the estimate of M w obtained by the proposed technique becomes saturated at the level of M w ~ 8.3, which is acceptable for operative analysis because no missed alarms arise. The technique can be used in operational tsunami warning based on seismological data. This can markedly decrease the number of false alarms.  相似文献

A logarithmic velocity profile is often fitted to velocity data in order to calculate the friction velocity (u *) and typify the surface texture by a roughness length (z o ). A method is given for estimating the errors in these parameters as calculated by this method. Determination of internal wave properties from X-Band radar observations   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The application of nautical X-Band radars to measure internal wave (IW) properties is investigated. A methodology based on the use of Radon transform (RT) techniques to detect internal wave related features from backscatter image sequences is introduced to compute properties such as direction of propagation, non-linear velocity (c0), distance between solitons (Lcc) and number of solitons per packet. The proposed methodology was applied to several events recorded by a ship-mounted X-Band radar system (WaMoS) during the NLIWI experiment in 2006. Results from the comparisons to simultaneous measurements taken at neighboring oceanographic moorings indicated that c0 can be estimated with a RMS error of 0.06 m s−1, which corresponds to a mean relative error of −1.4%. Similarly, Lcc can be estimated with a RMS error of 98 m, which is associated with a mean relative error of 14.6%. This latter error estimate however is likely to be overestimated, because it reflects strongly the separation between sampling stations as Lcc was shown to be highly dependent on propagation distance. The accuracy of the results shows that X-Band systems are well suited to measure internal wave properties offering some advantages over SAR and other in situ devices.  相似文献
