In this study the basic characteristics of the dynamic response and vortex shedding from an elastically mounted circular cylinder in laminar flow is numerically investigated. The Reynolds number ranges from 80 to 160, a regime that is fully laminar. The governing equations of fluid flow are cast in terms of vorticity. The two-dimensional vorticity transport equation is solved using a vortex method. Effects of important parameters on the system response and vortex shedding are investigated; these include: mass ratio, damping ratio, Reynolds number and reduced velocity. The numerical results show that a decrease in either the mass ratio or damping ratio of the system can lead to an increase in both the oscillation amplitude and the reduced velocity range over which lock-in occurs. The results also suggest that the mass-damping parameter may characterize the system response adequately, although the effect of changing mass ratio appears to be a little more profound compared to damping ratio. Vorticity contour plots suggest that the vortex shedding occurs in the 2S mode, although a wake structure similar to the C(2S) mode appears at distances 15–20 diameters downstream in the lock-in region. 针对传统圆筒型FPSO垂荡运动剧烈的特点,提出一种带有垂荡抑制结构的圆筒型FPSO。采用1∶77.8的缩尺比制作模型,进行垂荡纵摇衰减试验,得到带有不同垂荡抑制结构模型的固有周期和无因次阻尼系数,进而选取最优的垂荡抑制结构型式。之后计算并对比传统圆筒型FPSO和新型圆筒型FPSO垂荡纵摇运动的固有周期和幅频响应函数。在此基础上,结合我国南海海洋环境条件,设计新型圆筒型FPSO的系泊系统,计算分析自存工况下的耦合动力响应,并与传统圆筒型FPSO进行对比。结果表明,文中提出的垂荡抑制结构可以有效增大系统垂荡纵摇运动的固有周期,改善运动性能,提高系泊的安全性。  相似文献

When waves impact a seawall, a vertical breakwater, an exposed jetty, a pier or a coastal bridge, they abruptly transfer their momentum into the structure. This energy transfer can be very violent and its duration exceptionally short. In the case of coastal bridges, whose spans are designed to have very short vibration period, wave impacts might have duration comparable to the natural period of oscillation of the structure, which therefore becomes prone to damage and failure. Previous forensic studies have documented the relative importance of impulsive loads on deck suspended structure, demonstrating the need to assess the effect of wave impacts on both the stability and the integrity of structural members since the early stages of the design. This requires the estimation of the dynamic characteristics of the loading pattern, and in particular the wave impulse and corresponding impact maxima and rise times. Based on the conservation of momentum, functional relationships between these parameters have been identified since pioneering work dating back to the late '30s of the 20th century. The complexity of the loading process, however, results in a significantly large variability of wave impact maxima and rise times even under similar conditions, suggesting the need for a probabilistic approach to the definition of the relationship between these two variables, to be applied when estimating the dynamic properties of wave for use in structural analysis of coastal structures. In the recent past, some effort has been made to identify functional relationships between such quantities; these require the assessment of the conditional quantiles (or similarly the conditional distribution) of wave impact maxima given the rise times. In this paper, we compare three different statistical methods proposed in the literature to accomplish this task, in order to assess the reliability of the approach and suggest guidelines for practical applications. A copula-based method, Generalized Additive Models for Location, Scale and Shape (GAMLSS), and quantile regression are applied to measurements from large-scale 3-dimensional physical model tests. The investigation suggests that quantile regression gives the simplest results to be used in practice; copula approach and GAMLSS are possible alternative when semi-parametric or fully parametric modeling is needed.  相似文献

The double-body heave wave energy converter(WEC) is one of the most conducive devices to absorb the wave energy from relative motion while the law of which is not well understood. This paper makes an in-depth study on this wave energy converter, by means of the combination of theoretical analysis and physical model experiment. The hydrodynamic characteristics and energy capture of the double-buoy under constant and linear Power Take-Off(PTO) damping are investigated. Influences of absolute mass and mass ratio are discussed in the theoretical model.Relative displacement amplitude and average power output are tested in the experiment to analyze the effect of the wave period and outer buoy's mass, while the capture width ratio(CWR) is also calculated. Results show that the wave period and mass of the buoys have a significant effect on the converter. Different forms of PTO damping have no influence on the optimal wave period and mass ratio of this device. It is recommended to select the double-buoy converter with a mass ratio of 0.80 and to place it in an area with the frequent wave period close to the natural period of the outer buoy to achieve the optimal energy capture.  相似文献

Excited by the vibration sources in dynamic engineering, the natural frequency and damping factor of the saturated marine sedimentary clay are key dynamic parameters that influence the responses under cyclic loads. Experimental and theoretical methods are proposed in this paper to analyze the natural frequency and the stress-dependent nonlinearity. The experimental method shows that the natural frequency of soils with specific stress state subjected to large cyclic shear strain can be estimated from the data of dynamic triaxial tests based on the amplitude–frequency response curve. Trial and error by the criterion from the half-power bandwidth method is used to determine the optimal fitting. The results of a theoretical study on the free vibration of soil layers are then presented to derive the analytic solution of natural frequency. In addition to the two frequency-independent elements (a lumped mass matrix and a stiffness matrix), the system’s equivalent damping coefficient matrix is iteratively determined based upon the forced vibration experimentally. Finally, the impacts of the resonance phenomenon on the dynamic shear modulus and hysteretic loop are discussed.  相似文献

In terms of the nonlinear characteristics of hydraulic propulsion system used in 3500 m rated work-class ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle), the paper improved the responsiveness of the hydraulic propulsion system by adding an impulse signal to the input end of the system. Because the maximum static damping moment provided from water is much larger than the dynamic damping moment, it results in large dead zone of thrust during the startup process of the hydraulic propulsion system. The dead zone of thrust caused by static damping moment can be effectively reduced by adding a specific impulse signal to the input end of the propulsion system. The results of numerical simulations and underwater experiments show that using this method, the nonlinear characteristics of the hydraulic propulsion system have been significantly improved.  相似文献

The hydrodynamic performance of a bottom-hinged flap wave energy converter(WEC) is investigated through a frequency domain numerical model.The numerical model is verified through a two-dimensional analytic solution,as well as the qualitative analysis on the dynamic response of avibrating system.The concept of "optimum density" of the bottom-hinged flap is proposed,and its analytic expression is derived as well.The frequency interval in which the optimum density exists is also obtained.The analytic expression of the optimum linear damping coefficient is obtained by a bottom-hinged WEC.Some basic dynamic properties involving natural period,excitation moment,pitch amplitude,and optimum damping coefficient are analyzed and discussed in detail.In addition,this paper highlights the analysis of effects on the conversion performance of the device exerted by some important parameters.The results indicate that "the optimum linear damping period of 5.0 s" is the most ideal option in the short wave sea states with the wave period below 6.0 s.Shallow water depth,large flap thickness and low flap density are advised in the practical design of the device in short wave sea states in order to maximize power capture.In the sea state with water depth of 5.0 m and wave period of 5.0 s,the results of parametric optimization suggest a flap with the width of 8.0 m,thickness of 1.6 m,and with the density as little as possible when the optimum power take-off(PTO) damping coefficient is adopted.  相似文献

For a large floating structure in waves, the damping is computed by the linear diffraction/radiation theory. For most degrees of freedom, this radiation damping is adequate for an accurate prediction of the rigid body motions of the structure at the wave frequencies. This is not particularly true for the roll motion of a long floating structure. For ships, barges and similar long offshore structures, the roll damping is highly nonlinear. In these cases the radiation damping is generally quite small compared to the total damping in the system. Moreover, the dynamic amplification in roll may be large for such structures since the roll natural period generally falls within the frequency range of a typical wave energy spectrum experienced by them. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that a good estimate of the roll damping is made for such structures. The actual prediction of roll damping is a difficult analytical task. The nonlinear components of roll damping are determined from model and full scale experiments. This paper examines the roll damping components and their empirical contributions. These empirical expressions should help the designer of such floating structures. The numerical values of roll damping components of typical ships and barges in waves and current (or forward speed) are presented.  相似文献

A time-independent finite-difference method and a fifth-order Runge–Kutta–Felhberg scheme were used to analyze the dynamic responses of sea-wave-induced fully non-linear sloshing fluid in a floating tank. The interaction effect between the fully non-linear sloshing fluid and the floating tank associated with coupled surge, heave and pitch motions of the tank are analyzed for the first time in the present pilot study. For the analysis of fluid motion in the tank, the coordinate system is moving (translating and rotating) with tank motion. The time-dependent water surface of the sloshing fluid is transformed to a horizontal plane and the flow field is mapped on to a rectangular region. The Euler equations as well as the fully non-linear kinematic free surface condition were used in the analysis of the sloshing fluid. The strip theory for linearized harmonic sea-wave loading was adopted to evaluate the regular encounter wave force. In addition, the dynamic coefficients used in the dynamic equations of tank motion were also derived based on strip theory and a harmonic motion of the tank. The characteristics of free and forced tank motions with and without the sloshing effect are studied. By the damping effect, the response of free oscillation will damp out and that of forced oscillation will approach a steady state. Without sea-wave action, the contribution of the sloshing load would enlarge the angular response of tank motion as well as the rise of free surface and the sloshing effect will delay the damping effect on angular displacement. On the contrary, under sea-wave action, the sloshing effect will decrease the dynamic response of tank motion and rise of free surface. The interaction, sloshing and coupling effects are found to be significant and should be considered in the analysis and design of floating tanks.  相似文献

深水动态脐带缆内部结构复杂,其阻尼特性对脐带缆的舞动以及疲劳损伤有着重要的影响。脐带缆在和流体相互作用过程中,脐带缆内部构件可能会产生滑动,进而影响脐带缆的结构阻尼,这也使得真实海况中脐带缆的舞动和疲劳是一项复杂而值得深入研究的课题。为验证有限元模型能够很好地模拟脐带缆的结构阻尼特性,在考虑内部结构单元间摩擦的基础上,利用ANSYS建立了用于中国南海某油田的脐带缆多层滑移接触摩擦模型。同时,采用自由衰减法对该动态脐带缆开展了原型试验,测得了该缆的结构阻尼比与自振周期。通过对比有限元模型计算结果与原型试验结果发现:数值模型获得的该脐带缆的结构阻尼值与试验值非常接近,这为工程中获得脐带缆结构阻尼比的值提供了好的方向。  相似文献

This paper presents an application of the finite element method (FEM) to analyse hydrodynamic properties of a floating breakwater in heaving and swaying motions. The breakwater body is considered as an elliptical cylinder and its aspect ratio b/a is varied from 0.5 to 1.5 to examine shape effects. Comparison of FEM solution with an existing theoretical solution shows good agreement. The dependency of hydrodynamic properties such as added mass, damping coefficient, dynamic pressure distribution and wave amplitude on the frequency of the oscillation is established.  相似文献

Risers/pipes conveying fluid are a typical kind of slender structures commonly used in marine engineering. It is of great academic significance and application value for us to evaluate and understand the vibration characteristics and nonlinear responses of these risers under the combined action of internal and external fluid flows. In this paper, the nonplanar vibrations and multi-modal responses of pinned-pinned risers in shear cross flow are numerically studied. With this objective in mind, the van der Pol wake oscillators are used to simulate the dynamical behavior of the vortex shedding in the wake. Two nonlinear equations of motion of the riser are proposed to govern the lateral responses of the riser structure. The nonplanar nonlinear equations for the riser and wake are then discretized by employing Galerkin's method and solved by using a fourth-order Runge–Kutta integration algorithm. Theoretical results show that the coupled frequencies for cross-flow (CF) and in-line (IL) motions and the corresponding coupled damping ratio could be influenced by the external and/or internal fluid velocities. Based on extensive calculations, the dynamical behavior of the riser with various internal and external flow velocities are presented in the form of bifurcation diagrams, time traces, phase portraits, oscillation trajectories and response spectrum curves. It is shown that some interesting dynamical phenomena, such as ‘lock-in’ state, ‘figure-of-eight’ trajectory and quasi-periodic oscillation, could occur in such a fluid-structure interaction system. Our results also demonstrate that the shear parameter can significantly affect the dynamic responses of the riser. When the shear parameter of the cross flow is large, multi-modal quasi-periodic responses of the riser can be excited, showing some new features undetected in the system of fluid-conveying risers in uniform cross flow.  相似文献

The dynamic response of a towed cable system to ship maneuver is parametrically simulated. Three dimensionless parameters influence on towed cable system maneuverability is investigated. They are ratio of total length to turning radius R/L, ratio of cable mass to vehicle mass σ, and ratio of mass unit length to hydrodynamic force w/r. An oscillatory motion of towed vehicle is found in simulation of spiral towed courses. Features of this oscillation in different spiral courses are compared. The sharp turns, gradual turns and their transient states of towed cable dynamics for different course directions are discussed extensively. According to the characters of transient states and horizontal trajectories evolution of maneuvered cable system, the dynamic behaviors can be divided into three situations in Fig. 8 turning maneuvers. The behavior of towed cable system during a zigzag turning course is simulated in the end. Two ingredients of heave motion are found during small ratio of turning radii to length in this course. The primary damp to initial turning becomes weak and the response to alternative turns plays a more and more important role. The damping properties of the transient behavior in different maneuvers show a periodical invariance to σ during some turning maneuvers.  相似文献

Although Morison equation is often applied for simulating hydrodynamic force of marine structure, it may give poor results when non-linear behavior is severe or random wave is encountered. This leads to some modifications of Morison equation or other methods for predicting hydrodynamic force. One of them is the system identification technique. In this paper, NARMAX model theory is firstly used to identify the hydrodynamic system of heave damping plates, which are commonly installed on spar platform. Both linear and non-linear models are obtained. The comparisons between the predieted results and measured data indicate that NARMAX model can predict hydrodynamic force of a heave damping plate very well. The measured data for identification originate from forced oscillation tests, which are random records with given spectrum. The forced oscillation forms in experiment also contain simple harmonic, multi-frequency ones.  相似文献

选用近海分布广泛的粉土为研究对象,利用动三轴压缩试验结果得到了动荷载作用下粉土的应力-应变关系、孔压发展模式及动强度与临界循环次数之间的关系;探讨固结围压和固结比对粉土动力学性质的影响。动力学试验结果表明,动剪切模量随着固结围压的增大而增大,动阻尼比随动剪应变幅的变化关系受围压影响不大;不同围压对动剪应力的比值影响很小,同一围压下随着固结比的增大,动剪应力比也会随之增大;不同围压及不同固结比对以Nf表示的峰值孔隙水压力发展模式影响很小。  相似文献

针对圆筒型海上储油装置FPSO垂荡运动性能较差、无法安装干式井口的问题,设计了带延伸筒体与矩形阻尼结构的圆筒型FPSO,根据延伸筒体与矩形阻尼结构是否通海分为两种型式。建立水动力计算模型,比较分析不同延伸筒体和阻尼结构型式对FPSO水动力性能的影响。针对南海作业海域,设计了悬链式系泊系统,基于JONSWAP波浪谱对FPSO的运动进行时域预报,并对系泊系统进行校核。分析结果表明:通海型FPSO垂荡固有周期显著提升,可以错开南海百年一遇谱峰周期,通海型FPSO满足钻井、安装干式井口的运动响应要求,系泊系统系缆张力满足规范要求。  相似文献

Heave plates have been widely utilized in floating offshore structures as they can provide additional damping and added mass to improve the hydrodynamic response of the system. This study investigates the hydrodynamic characteristics (added mass and damping) of oscillatory solid or porous disks using model scale experiments. All experiments were conducted via forced oscillation model tests using a planar motion mechanism (PMM). The hydrodynamic coefficients of the solid or porous disk obtained from the force measurements are analysed and presented. The sensitivities of the damping and added mass coefficients to both motion amplitude and the disk porosity are examined.  相似文献

Vortex-induced vibration(VIV) for flexible cylinders under combined uniform and oscillatory flow is a challenging and practical issue in ocean engineering. In this paper, a time domain numerical model is adopted to investigate the characteristics of cross-flow VIV response and fatigue damage under different combined flow cases. Firstly, the adopted VIV model and fatigue analysis procedure are validated well against the published experimental results of a4-m cylinder model under pure oscillatory flows. Then, forty-five combined flow cases of the same cylinder model are designed to reveal the VIV response characteristics with different non-dimensional oscillation period T* and combined ratio r. The combined flow cases are classified into three categories to investigate the effect of r on cylinder's dynamic response, and the effect of T* is described under long and short period cases. Finally, fatigue analysis is carried out to investigate how the structural fatigue damage varies with the variations of r and T*. The captured characteristics of structural response and fatigue damage are explained through the VIV mechanism analysis.  相似文献

多筒型导管架基础下放安装过程筒顶开口,筒内气—水自由置换,浪溅区下放过程由于浮力、冲击载荷、附加质量、阻尼效应等因素影响具有很强的非线性。开展模型试验研究波浪荷载下外界控制因素对四筒导管架基础下放过程气垫响应、基础运动和吊缆张力响应的影响机理,探究气垫结构对基础下放过程附加质量和固有周期的影响。结果表明:初始下放过程,筒内气体积聚,气垫压力非线性增长,随着下放深度增大,气垫压力趋于稳定;气垫压力响应趋势与基础下放速度和开孔率相关,波浪荷载仅影响气垫响应幅值;筒型基础下放穿越浪溅区阶段受到砰击荷载作用,气垫结构对砰击荷载产生缓冲效果;考虑气垫—水柱耦合作用时,顶盖即将入水阶段,气弹簧和水弹簧耦合作用下整体刚度增大,基础固有周期出现减小趋势。  相似文献
