The results of the observations to search gamma-ray sources with the energy greater than 2×1012 eV, which were made in Crimean Astrophysical Observatory during the years 1969–73 are presented. A technique of the detection of the EAS Cerenkov flashes was used.The quality of the data obtained is analysed. The criteria for the selection of the data free from meteorological variations are considered.It was shown that two objects, namely, Cyg X-3 and Cas -1, may be the sources of high-energy gamma quanta. It is probable that the object with the coordinates =05h15m, =+1° is the source of gamma-rays as well. An unidentified object Cas -1 is variable: gamma-ray flux was observed twice — in Sepember–October 1971 and in December 1972. It is possible that the flux from Cyg X-3 has a period of 4.8 hr.

Mt. Wilson numbers of spots data (as defined in Howard et al., 1984) appear to be distributed according to even-odd cycle numbering. Linear fits of annual numbers of spots versus annual sunspot number for even- and odd-numbered cycles have slopes which are statistically different at the 5% level of significance. The existence of an even-odd split in Mt. Wilson numbers of spots data may be due either to a real difference in even- and odd-numbered cycles on the Sun or to a difference in weather at Mt. Wilson (perhaps, related to the 22-yr rhythm of drought in the western United States) during even- and odd-numbered cycles, or both. For cycle 22, an even-numbered cycle, the peak numbers of spots is estimated to be near 2600.  相似文献

Periodic orbits of stars in axisymmetrical nearly spherical stellar systems have been investigated. Generating orbits have been found among periodic ones relating to the spherically-symmetrical field. The linear approximation appears to be insufficient for constructing periodic trajectories. Possible variants of the generating periodic solutions have been found, which give rise to disturbed periodic orbits in the second approximation.

One component of a three-fluid adiabatic plasma is under certain conditions contained in a restricted region of space by a large-scale electrostatic field generated within the plasma. The containment is discussed here for plasma consisting of ions and two populations of electrons characterized by different pitch angle distribution functions.The bouncing motion of electrons along open fieldlines between a magnetic mirror and an electrostatic mirror produces a velocity distribution function similar to that generated by bouncing particles on closed fieldlines.  相似文献

The equations of the physical libration of the Moon are developed using a representation of the Earth-Moon orbit as a Kepler ellipse referred to the lunar equator and expanding the lunar potential in terms of these Kepler elements. TheImproved Lunar Ephemeris is used to calculate solar perturbations, and a linear integration of all effects arising from lunar gravitational harmonics through the fourth degree performed. Aside from unobservable constant offsets of the principal axes, the main effects of the higher harmonics on longitude are: 10 six-yearly (argument), 1.2 three-yearly, 0.5 annual, and 0.1 monthly; on pole direction they are on the order of 0.5 six-yearly and 1.0 monthly. The higher harmonics must hence be taken into account in analyzing ranging data of 10 cm accuracy.Paper dedicated to Prof. Harold C. A quantum mechanical treatment of an electron plasma in a constant and homogeneous magnetic field is considered, with the aim of (a) defining the range of validity of the magnetoionic theory (b) studying the deviations from this theory, in applications involving high densities, and intense magnetic field. While treating the magnetic field exactly, a perturbation approach in the photon field is used to derive general expressions for the dielectric tensor . The properties of are explored in the various limits. Numerical estimates on the range of applicability of the magnetoionic theory are given for the case of the one-dimensional electron gas, where only the lowest Landau level is occupied.  相似文献

In an earlier publication (Jupp, 1972), a solution of the Ideal Resonance Problem is exhibited explicitly in terms of the mean elements; to second order in the small parameter in the case of libration, and to first order in the case of deep circulation. Both representations possess a singularity when the mean modulus of the Jacobi elliptic functions is unity; this corresponds to the separatrix of the phase plane of the dynamical system.It is shown here that, provided particular coefficients associated with the problem satisfy specific relations, the singularity is removed, and the resulting solution is applicable throughout the deep resonance region.The solution is then expressed in terms of general initial conditions. Again, in general, the solution has a singularity associated closely with the limiting motion, and the circulation part of the solution is restricted to deep circulation. It is shown that when the previously-mentioned coefficients satisfy particular constraints, the singularity is removed. In addition, with the same constraints, the deep-circulation solution is applicable throughout the circulation region. It is of interest that these constraints are quite different from those associated with the mean, element formulation.  相似文献

A new modified Kramers Kronig Integral is derived and shown to produce excellent results when k data is only known over a limited range. By considering the effect of resonance features simulated using the Dirac-Delta function, the new integral is shown to be more rapidly converging than both the conventional Kramers Kronig integral and a modified (Subtractive Kramers Kronig – SKK) integral introduced by Ahrenkiel (1971). The new integral does not require extensive extrapolation of reflectance data outside the measured region in order to produce reliable results. By extending the above procedure to include n data points, it is shown that at wavelength 0, \[ n(_0)=\sum_{i=1}^{\rm n}(-1)^{\rm n+1}\prod_{\stackrel{j=1}{j \not=i}}^{\rm n} \frac{(_j^2-_0^2)}{(_i^2- _j^2)}n(_i)+\frac{2}{\pi}P\int_{0}^{\infty}(-1)^{\rm n+1} \frac{\prod_{i=1}^{\rm n}(_i^2-_0^2)}{\prod_{i=0}^{\rm n}(^2-_i^2)} k()d \] with relative error given by, \[ R_n(_0)=\prod_{i=1}^{\rm n}\frac{_i^2- _0^2}{_^2-_i^2} . \] This nth order expression should prove useful in establishing the internal self-consistency of data sets for which both optical coefficients have been theoretically derived.  相似文献

The stability of triangular libration points, when the bigger primary is a source of radiation and the smaller primary is an oblate spheroid. has been investigated in the resonance cases 1 = 22 and 1 = 32. The motion is unstable for all the values of parameters q and A when 1 = 22 and the motion is unstable and stable depending upon the values of the parameters q and A when 1 = 32.
