Photoelectric observations of the eclipsing variable TZ Bootis, obtained in 1983 and 1986, in the two coloursB andV are presented: They are compared with the previous light curves of the system. The light curve changes show that the system TZ Bootis has a solar-like activity cycle with a period of 1500 days. The primary shows a transit, whereas the secondary shows an occultation minima. The maxima exhibit a large difference suggesting a large complication in the system. The (O-C) trend indicates that the period did not remain constant; a satisfactory representation of all the observed time of minimum light was obtaiend assuming a linear trend in the (O-C)s. The star may be classified to A-type W UMa systems.  相似文献

DifferentialUBV observations, carried out in 1990 observing season, of a small amplitude (0 . m 15 inV andB) W UMa system LS Del = HD 199497 are presented. Wavelength-dependent light variations from cycle to cycle indicate that the system is in a very active phase, probably due to magnetic flare activity or mass transfer in the system. An analysis of the minima times indicate a probable secular increase of the photometric period which requires a mass transfer from less massive to more massive component. If this is true then the reverse-algol model by Liuet al. (1988) for this system would not be valid.  相似文献

Photometric BV light curves of BO CVn obtained in 1992 and new times of minima are presented. The primary minimum shows a transit, whereas the secondary minimum, shows an occultation. The system may be classified as an A‐type W UMa system. A complete study of minima allows one to detect a possibly increasing period by about 0.037 s/yr. This indicates that the conservative mass transfer rate from the less massive component to the more massive one is 1.57 10—10M /yr. Because of the variable period, the new ephemeris is determined for future observations. Using the Wilson‐Devinney code a simultaneous solution of the B and V light curves is also performed. The analysis shows that the system is in a contact configuration with q = 0.205 ± 0.001 and fillout factor (f) = 0.18, T1 = 7240 K (fixed), T2 = 7150± 10 K. The high orbital inclination i = 87°.54 ± 0.26 was con firmed by photometric observations of the secondary minimum.  相似文献

DifferentialUBV observations of the small amplitude (0.12 mag inV) single-lined active binary V350 Lac are presented. It was observed that the light minima occur in conjunction time. A shift of the light curve (0.05 in orbital phase) towards lower phases could be due to a small error in the light elements. The primary minimum is about 0.04 mag deeper than the secondary. It was shown that different depths of two light minima are not produced by the reflection effect but due primarily to gravity darkening on the tidally elongated and synchronously rotating visible component. An O'Connel effect observed as the brighter primary maximum could be an indication of starspot activity or gas streaming between the components.  相似文献

The Behlen observatory 0.76 m telescope CCD photometer is used to obtain 347 observations of the short period (P0d.4) eclipsing binary star V719 Her. The observations done withV andR bandpass filters were made on 6 nights in 1993. Previously published light elements and the present five timings of minimum provide a new epoch and a more accurate orbital period of 0.4009828 days. Our analyses show that the period of the system appears to decrease. We recommend future monitoring of the eclipse minima for this system. No published spectral classification for V719 Her exists. From the color,V-R=0.391, we estimate it to be about F5.The 1993 version of the Wilson Devinney model gave the photometric solutions. The adopted solution indicates that V719 Her is a W UMa type contact binary. The mass ratio,q=(m 2/m 1, where star 1 eclipse at the primary minimum)=0.296 suggests that V719 Her is a WUMa system with type-A (transit during primary eclipse) configuration. The secondary minimum shows a total eclipse. V719 Her with period less than 0.5 and spectral class F5, is probably a zero-age contact system. Since our photometric solution shows that the luminosity difference between the components is very large, we suspect that V719 Her is most likely a single line spectroscopic binary. We recommend spectroscopic study of this system.  相似文献

Broad-band V and I photometry of the short-period W UMa-type contact binaries V523 Cas and TY UMa are reported. From the light curves, the system parameters have been determined and evidence is presented for extensive spot activity in both systems, with V523 Cas being the more active system. A compilation of all the available photoelectric and CCD-based timings of eclipse minima is made; the O–C diagrams show evidence for an increasing period in the case of V523 Cas and a decreasing period in TY UMa. In addition we derive a more accurate astrometric position for V523 Cas from our CCD images.  相似文献

UBV light curves of AO Cam were analyzed with Wilson and Devinney's model. The system was found to be a contact configuration with a degree of overcontact of 1.4%. The mass ratio of the system is about 1.30, and the inclination is 75 . 0 9. The primary eclipse appears to be an occultation. Thus AO Cam has the characteristics of a W-type W UMa system. Its location in a period-spectral type diagram suggests that the system may be a zero-age contact system.  相似文献

UBV measurements of early‐type stars, mostly eclipsing binaries, obtained at La Silla in the years 1990 to 1994 with the ESO 50 cm telescope are presented. Most of these data were already used in our individual studies of several binaries. Now all photometric measurements were reduced again with an advanced technique and are made available electronically. Our data for MY Ser have not yet been published; new light curve is given and solved. The result is that MY Ser is a contact binary, with very large fill‐out parameter. Also a light curve and its solution for V1051 Cen are provided, and the problem of the period of V871 Cen is pointed out. Besides binaries (and the comparison and check stars) data for several stars in southern H II regions are included. Classical R-M and synthetic W-D analysis of V758 Centauri are presented. Two solutions (semi-detached and contact) were found from differential corrections approach. The semi-detached model is physically acceptable since the system is thermally decoupled. The solution for this case and the photometric data are consistent with a B9 primary and A9 secondary components having parameters close to Main-Sequence values. It is suggested that V758 Centauri is a B-type W UMa system at the brokencontact phase predicted by the Thermal Relaxation Oscillations theory.  相似文献

The A-type W UMa system V566 Oph was observed photoelectrically in two wavebands (B andV) in the years 1988-1989 at the Kryonerion Astronomical Station of the National Observatory of Athens, Greece. The light curves of the system are analyzed using frequency-domain techniques and new geometric and photometric elements are derived. These elements are combined with the more recent spectroscopic data based on Reticon observations to yield the absolute parameters of the system. The evolutionary status of the system is considered and it is found that V566 Oph has started its evolution away from the Main Sequence. The period of the system continues to increase.  相似文献

We present the first long‐term Johnson UBVR observations and comprehensive photometric analysis of the W UMa‐type eclipsing binary V2612 Oph. Observations in the time interval between 2003 and 2009 enabled us to reveal the seasonal and long‐term variations of the light curve. Hence, we found that the mean brightness level of the light curve shows a variation with a period of 6.7 years. Maximum and minimum brightness levels of the light curve exhibit a variation from year to year which we attribute to a solar‐like activity. The OC variation of eclipse timings of the system shows a decreasing parabolic trend and reveals a period decrease at a rate of P = 6.27×10‐7 day yr‐1 with an additional low‐amplitude sinusoidal variation that has a similar period as the long‐term brightness variations. Our light curve analysis shows that the system is a W‐subtype W UMa eclipsing binary. We calculated masses and radii of the primary and secondary components as M1 = 1.28 M, M2 = 0.37 M and R1 = 1.31 R, R2 = 0.75 R, respectively. The derived absolute photometric parameters allow us to calculate a distance of 140 pc, which confirms that the system is a foreground star in the sky field of the Galactic open cluster NGC 6633. PhotoelectricUBV observations of the W UMa-system MW Pavonis are presented; they were made at Bosque Alegre Station of Córdoba Observatory in 1972 and 1974. The period and linear ephemeris were obtained from nine times of minimum observed in each color. The eclipsing binary V392 Ori was observed photoelectrically, from November 1984 to January 1985, inUBV bands using the P34B photometer attached to the 0.91 m reflector at the McDonald Observatory. Four-hundred eighty-six observations in each band were obtained. Six primary and 4 secondary minimum were observed during this period. The light curves show a typical Beta Lyrae-type variation instead of an Algol-type light curve reported earlier.  相似文献

The firstV-photoelectric light curve (on theUBV system) of the eclipsing variable UU Sagittae (constituting the central star of a faint planetary nebula Abell 63) was obtained in 1979 with the 74 in. reflector at the Kottamia station of Helwan Observatory in Egypt, and analysed for the photometric elements of the system. Some of the geometrical elements obtained by us differ significantly from those previously deduced by Bondet al. (1978) from theirB-light curve secured in 1976; but there is no reason to suspect from this that any physical change has taken place in the system between 1976 and 1979.The most significant feature of the light curve of UU Sge (in both colours) is the large amplitude of the reflection effect exhibited between minima, as well as the fact that the secondary minimum appears to be almost wholly due to an eclipse of reflected light. This, combined with the depths of the alternate minima observed in both colours, leads us to conclude that the effective temperature of the O-type component is probably not much higher than 30 000 K, while that of the secondary component is not less than 6000 K (corresponding to a subgiant of spectral class close to G0).  相似文献

PhotoelectricB andV observations of the W UMa-type system OO Aql have been obtained for 11 nights during the period from 22 June–30 July, 1987. A total of 978 observations were obtained in eachB andV filter. All these observations were transformed to theB andV colours of theUBV standard system. Five light curves for primary and secondary eclipses were obtained, its times of minima were determined and a new linear ephemeris was given. PhotometricUBV-observations of VW Cep, a W UMa-type eclipsing binary, were made in 1971 and 1978–79. The (O-C)-diagram, with the newly determined times of minima extended, shows sudden increases and decreases in the period of VW Cep. The difference light curves (the observed light curves compared with a reference light curve) show some correlations with the sudden change of the period. In particular, the difference between the two light curves from 1971 and 1978 is also presented. The system may be in marginal contact, and as such is possibly unstable with respect to mass exchange between its components. In accordance with the variation of (O-C)-values the mass transfer between the both components is discussed. The difference between the depths of the two minima shows irregular changes, while that between the heights of the two maxima shows a long term variation on which irregular fluctuations are superimposed.  相似文献

TheUBV photometric observations of the eclipsing binary V364 Cas have been discussed. Two sets of photometric elements, one based on the Russell and Merrill methods and the other based on Kopal's new method of the analysis of the light curves of eclipsing binary stars in the frequency-domain, have been derived. Using the observed colour indicesU-B andB-V, the spectral types of the systemic components are estimated. An examination of all the available times of minimum light of V364 Cas does not reveal any change in its orbital period.  相似文献
