In this paper general solutions are found for domain walls in Lyra geometry in the plane symmetric spacetime metric given by Taub. Expressions for the energy density and pressure of domain walls are derived in both cases of uniform and time varying displacement field β. It is also shown that the results obtained by Rahaman et al [IJMPD, 10, 735 (2001)] are particular case of our solutions. Finally, the geodesic equations and acceleration of the test particle are discussed. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Plane symmetric thick domain walls and cosmic strings are considered in Rosen's (General Relativity and Gravitation 4, 435, 1973) bimetric theory of gravitation. It is shown that, in this theory, thick domain walls and cosmic strings do not exist. Hence, the vacuum solutions in both the cases are presented. PACS No.:98.80  相似文献

Axially symmetric cosmological models are obtained in a scalar tensor theory proposed by Sen (Z. Phys. 149:311, 1957) based on Lyra manifold with time dependent β in the presence of string source, perfect fluid distribution, dust distribution and thick domain walls. Some physical and geometrical properties of these models are discussed.  相似文献

Simple analytic models for the passive evolution of arcade-like magnetic fields through a series of force-free equilibria are presented. At the photospheric boundary, the normal magnetic field component is prescribed together with either the longitudinal field component or the photospheric shear. Analytic progress is made by considering either cylindrically symmetric solutions or using the separation of variables technique. Two distinct cylindrically symmetric force-free fields are obtained that possess the same normal field component and photospheric shear. The scond field contains a magnetic bubble. As the shear increases beyond a critical value, so the magnetic energy of the first configuration exceeds that of the second. The possibility is therefore suggested of an eruption of the first field outwards towards the second. Such an eruptive instability is proposed as the origin of a two-ribbon solar flare.A new analytic solution to the force-free field equations, of separable form, is discovered and it is pointed out that the existence of shear in a magnetic field does not preclude it from being potential. Now at AWRE, Aldermaston, Reading, Berkshire.  相似文献

In this work we present a methodology to estimate the geomagnetic symmetric index (Sym) based on the wavelet analysis of the time series of the H component of the geomagnetic field measured at mid-latitude stations localized at Kakioka (KAK), Honolulu (HON), Hermanus (HER) and San Juan (SJG). A case study of the intense geomagnetic storm of 17–22 February 1999, caused by intense southward magnetic fields just behind an interplanetary shock driven by a magnetic cloud, is shown as an example of the procedure of derivation of the symmetric index and the capabilities of this analysis to improve the study of the coupling of the solar wind and the Earth's magnetosphere. Other examples are shown in order to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology to different magnetospheric conditions. It is shown that the long period variations of the symmetric index are linearly correlated to variations at the same periods of the H component of the geomagnetic field and that the contribution of short period variations to the symmetric index are biased by localized current systems such as the partial ring current and the field aligned currents.  相似文献

We present a (2+1)-dimensional sunspot model whose Lagrange density contains, in addition to the classical Maxwellian term, the so-called Chern-Simons term generalized here in a gauge-invariant way. It is shown that it is namely this term which is responsible for the confinement of the spot's electromagnetic field into a finite-dimensional domain. We further demonstrate that besides the total magnetic flux it is also the spot's electric charge which is non-zero and that both quantities are topologically quantized, i.e. can acquire discrete values only. Finally, a cylindrically symmetric sunspot carryingp magnetic flux quanta,p being a positive integer, is revealed to possess a non-zero total angular momentum, the magnitude of which is proportional top 2. The latter fact also implies the stability of rotating sunspots against their fragmentation (splitting).  相似文献

A problem of static plane symmetric metric in the perfect fluid, the mesonic massive scalar field and in their coupling is studied in Rosen’s (1973) bimetric theory of relativity. It was found that the matter field like either perfect fluid or mesonic massive scalar field or their coupling does not survive in bimetric theory of gravitation when the space–time is governed by n-dimensional static plane symmetric metric.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate spherically symmetric perfect fluid gravitational collapse in metric f(R) gravity. We take non-static spherically symmetric metric in the interior region and static spherically symmetric metric in the exterior region of a star. The junction conditions between interior and exterior spacetimes are derived. The field equations in f(R) theory are solved using the assumption of constant Ricci scalar. Inserting their solution into junction conditions, the gravitational mass is found. Further, the apparent horizons and their time of formation is discussed. We conclude that the constant scalar curvature term f(R 0) acts as a source of repulsive force and thus slows down the collapse of matter. The comparison with the corresponding results available in general relativity indicates that f(R 0) plays the role of the cosmological constant.  相似文献

Thick domain walls with time dependent displacement vector based on Lyra's geometry are considered. Their exact solutions are obtained in the background of a five-dimensional space time. The field theoretic energy-momentum tensor is considered assuming with $$T_t^t = T_x^x = T_y^y = T_\psi ^\psi .$$ Acceleration due to the domain wall has been evaluated by studyinggeodesic equation.  相似文献

An axially symmetric non-static space-time is considered in the presence of thick domain walls in the scalar–tensor theories formulated by Brans and Dicke (Phys. Rev. 124:925, 1961) and Saez and Ballester (Phys. Lett. A 113:467, 1985). Exact cosmological models, in both the theories, are presented with the help of special law of variation proposed by Berman (Nuovo Cim. B 74:182, 1983), for Hubble’s parameter. Some physical and kinematical properties of the models are discussed.   相似文献

In this paper we have discussed two models of domain walls within the framework of Lyra geometry. An exact solution is obtained for a thick non static domain wall. The space time is non singular both in its spatial and temporal behavior and the gravitational field experienced by a test particle is attractive. It is found that these exists no particle horizon in our case. Also we have presented a spherical domain wall with nonvanishing stress components in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the wall. The gravitational field of the domain wall is shown to be attractive in nature. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

An inhomogeneous cylindrically symmetric cosmological model for stiff perfect fluid distribution with electromagnetic field is obtained.F 12 is the non-vanishing component of electromagnetic field tensor. The metric potentials are functions ofx andt both. The behaviour of the electromagnetic field tensor together with geometrical and physical aspects of the model are also examined.  相似文献

In Parker's original model, the solar wind is represented as a spherically symmetric hydrodynamic flow. The velocity is radially directed and decoupled from the magnetic field. The simple extension of this model to include a dependence on the polar angle, , is shown to be invalid for radial flow and radial magnetic field. This work demonstrates how ad hoc symmetry conditions imposed to simplify a non-linear problem can be incompatible with the basic hydromagnetic equations.  相似文献

In the present paper we discuss the properties of several families of resonant periodic orbits in a general, time-independent, two-dimensional potential field, symmetric with respect to both axesx andyy. We classify the different cases by varying the parameters of the problem. In order to verify the theoretical results we also present some numerical examples.  相似文献

In the bounds of a theoretical scheme treating consistently gravitational interaction as dynamical (gauge) field in flat space-time, an expression was obtained for the density of energy-momentum-tension of gravitational field in vacuum around a collapsed object. A case was studied of an interacting static spherically-symmetric field of a collapsar in vacuum with taking into account of input of all the possible components (spin states of virtual gravitons) into the energy for the symmetric tensor of second rank ik . The radius of the sphere filled by matter for the collapsar of massM may achieve values up toGM/c 2.  相似文献

Cylindrically symmetric inhomogeneous cosmological model for perfect fluid distribution with electromagnetic field is obtained. The source of the magnetic field is due to an electric current produced along the z-axis. F 12 is the non-vanishing component of electromagnetic field tensor. To get the deterministic solution, it has been assumed that the expansion θ in the model is proportional to the shear σ. Physical and geometric aspects of the models are also discussed in presence and absence of magnetic field.   相似文献

This paper gives the results of a programme attempting to exploit ‘la seule bréche’ (Poincaré, 1892, p. 82) of non-integrable systems, namely to develop an approximate general solution for the three out of its four component-solutions of the planar restricted three-body problem. This is accomplished by computing a large number of families of ‘solutions précieuses’ (periodic solutions) covering densely the space of initial conditions of this problem. More specifically, we calculated numerically and only for μ = 0.4, all families of symmetric periodic solutions (1st component of the general solution) existing in the domain D:(x 0 ∊ [−2,2],C ∊ [−2,5]) of the (x 0, C) space and consisting of symmetric solutions re-entering after 1 up to 50 revolutions (see graph in Fig. 4). Then we tested the parts of the domain D that is void of such families and established that they belong to the category of escape motions (2nd component of the general solution). The approximation of the 3rd component (asymmetric solutions) we shall present in a future publication. The 4th component of the general solution of the problem, namely the one consisting of the bounded non-periodic solutions, is considered as approximated by those of the 1st or the 2nd component on account of the `Last Geometric Theorem of Poincaré' (Birkhoff, 1913). The results obtained provoked interest to repeat the same work inside the larger closed domain D:(x 0 ∊ [−6,2], C ∊ [−5,5]) and the results are presented in Fig. 15. A test run of the programme developed led to reproduction of the results presented by Hénon (1965) with better accuracy and many additional families not included in the sited paper. Pointer directions construed from the main body of results led to the definition of useful concepts of the basic family of order n, n = 1, 2,… and the completeness criterion of the solution inside a compact sub-domain of the (x 0, C) space. The same results inspired the ‘partition theorem’, which conjectures the possibility of partitioning an initial conditions domain D into a finite set of sub-domains D i that fulfill the completeness criterion and allow complete approximation of the general solution of this problem by computing a relatively small number of family curves. The numerical results of this project include a large number of families that were computed in detail covering their natural termination, the morphology, and stability of their member solutions. Zooming into sub-domains of D permitted clear presentation of the families of symmetric solutions contained in them. Such zooming was made for various values of the parameter N, which defines the re-entrance revolutions number, which was selected to be from 50 to 500. The areas generating escape solutions have being investigated. In Appendix A we present families of symmetric solutions terminating at asymptotic solutions, and in Appendix B the morphology of large period symmetric solutions though examples of orbits that re-enter after from 8 to 500 revolutions. The paper concludes that approximations of the general solution of the planar restricted problem is possible and presents such approximations, only for some sub-domains that fulfill the completeness criterion, on the basis of sufficiently large number of families.  相似文献

FIEDLER and SCHIMMING (1983) proved that the fourth order gravitational field equations with a linear combination of Bach's and Einstein's tensors on the left-hand side, which were proposed by TREDER , admit static centrally symmetric solutions which are analytical and non-flat in some neighbourhood of the centre of symmetry. The existence of these solutions, known at first only in a small neighbourhood of r = o (r radius), can now be extended to intervals o ≦ r ≦ α with arbitrarily large α , using the abstract theorem on inverse functions. Further it is proved that the Schwarzschild metrics are in a certain sense the only solutions of the above equations that are analytic, asymptotically flat, static and centrally symmetric around r = +∞.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the domain wall with time dependent displacement vectors based on Lyra geometry in normal gauge i.e. displacement vector φ i * =[β(t),0,0,0]. The field theoretic energy momentum tensor is considered with zero pressure perpendicular to the wall. We find an exact solutions of Einstein’s equation for a scalar field φ with a potential V(φ) describing the gravitational field of a plane symmetric domain wall. We have seen that the hyper surfaces parallel to the wall (z=constant) are three dimensional de-sitter spaces. It is also shown that the gravitational field experienced by test particle is attractive.  相似文献

In this paper a theoretical model of a magnetic white dwarf is studied. All numerical calculations are performed under the assumption of a spherically symmetric star. The obtained equation of state is stiffer with the increase of value of the magnetic field (B). Numerical values of the maximum mass and radius are presented. The influence of the magnetic field on the results is evident. Finally the departure from the condition of isothermality of a degenerate electron gas in the gravitational field is discussed.  相似文献
