We present the results of calculations of blast waves propagation in plane-stratified medium, taking into account gravitational forces, pre-explosion gas motion and different laws of energy input into the cavity. The numerical hydrodynamic scheme based on infinitely thin-layer approximation is described. The results are compared with two-dimensional axisymmetric numerical calculations. The evolution of a superbubble in plane-stratified galactic disk is discussed. It is shown that late SNR structure is highly dependent on pre-supernova-interstellar gas relative motion. 相似文献

Given a relativistically expanding source, the transformation of the emission spectrum from the comoving frame of the source to the observer's frame is calculated. In particular, we deal with two special cases, that of a uniformly expanding sphere and that of a cylinder. In each case we consider a power-law spectrum with two distinct regions — the optically thick and thin parts — and transform those regions separately. The results are discussed, and a generalized procedure for transforming a spectrum of unspecified form is outlined. This procedure takes into account any bulk motion by the source as well as expansion. Finally, applications of this procedure to astrophysical sources are briefly discussed. 相似文献

Early theories of stellar winds from an association of OB stars predicted the formation of a common superbubble enclosed by athin, dense supershell, through the combined effort of the winds from the stars at the center. These early theories were adequate for explaining the primary observational features (defined as: shell age, outer radius, shell speed, shell mass, shell energy), but they were not adequate to explain the secondary features (defined as: shell thickness, shell magnetic field, shell gas density). A recently published theory for a stellar-wind-bubble and supershell, predicting a range ofthick supershells, can now be compared with the secondary observational features.Using the observed parameters from all large (> 100 pc) interstellar magnetized supershells near the sun (< 1 kpc away), I assemble for comparison with stellar-wind theories: (a) the primary observational features of these shells — I find: large shell age, large outer radius, low shell speed, large shell mass, large shell energy; and (b) some of their secondary observational features — I find: thick shell, low shell magnetic field strengh, low shell gas density. 相似文献

We analyse the transmitted flux in a sample of 17 QSOs spectra at 5.74 ≤ z em ≤ 6.42 to obtain tighter constraints on the volume-averaged neutral hydrogen fraction, x H i , at z ≈ 6. We study separately the narrow transmission windows (peaks) and the wide dark portions (gaps) in the observed absorption spectra. By comparing the statistics of these spectral features with a semi-analytical model of the Lyα forest, we conclude that x H i evolves smoothly from 10−4.4 at z = 5.3 to 10−4.2 at z = 5.6 , with a robust upper limit x H i < 0.36 at z = 6.3 . The frequency and physical sizes of the peaks imply an origin in cosmic underdense regions and/or in H ii regions around faint quasars or galaxies. In one case (the intervening H ii region of the faint quasar RD J1148+5253 at z = 5.70 along the line of sight of SDSS J1148+5251 at z = 6.42 ) the increase of the peak spectral density is explained by the first-ever detected transverse proximity effect in the H i Lyα forest; this indicates that at least some peaks result from a locally enhanced radiation field. We then obtain a strong lower limit on the foreground QSO lifetime of t Q > 11 Myr. The observed widths of the peaks are found to be systematically larger than the simulated ones. Reasons for such discrepancy might reside either in the photoionization equilibrium assumption or in radiative transfer effects. 相似文献

Angular power spectra for neutral hydrogen towardsl = 140°,b = 0° on scales from ≈ 1° to 1/10° are presented. The spectra are generally well fitted by a power-law dependence on radius in theuv-plane, with an index between ≈ -2.2 and ≈ -3.0. The more distant hydrogen, which corresponds to larger physical scales, tends to have a more negative index than does the nearer material. There is no preferred angular scale apparent at any velocity. For the distant hydrogen there is no obvious difference between the slope of power spectra for emission aligned perpendicular compared with that parallel to the Galactic plane. 相似文献

High-resolution filtergrams in L have been obtained with a rocket borne instrument and evidence several loop shaped structures which can be seen as absorption features over the solar surface. The optical thickness of these coronal structures is measured with respect to nearby unabsorbed disk features. Their shape and dimension being known from the images, the determination of the neutral hydrogen temperature and density is possible. It is found that temperatures below 105 K and densities of a few 104 hydrogen atoms cm–3 are compatible with the opacities observed in the structures. 相似文献

An anomalous velocity cloud nearl=349°,b=+3°, was investigated by Cugnon (1968). The authors made a new set of observations in order to obtain a more complete picture of the feature, including the region originally out of Cugnon's limit of observation. High-resolution H i imaging observations of a heterogeneous sample of small galaxy groups are presented. The five galaxy groups studied show a broad range of individual H i properties: e.g. loose groups surrounding LGG 138 and the genuinely compact LGG 455 are identified; a massive ring of neutral gas is discovered encircling two luminous galaxies in the LGG 138 group; a galaxy-sized mass of H i is found in LGG 455 confined to an extragalactic cloud which exceeds the threshold density for star formation, yet is optically invisible; and the CCG 1 group is argued to be a chance alignment of Centaurus cluster galaxies. Global results of the study are that the deficit of H i flux in synthesis imaging data compared with single-dish data is put forward as a quantitative measure of the diffuseness of neutral gas in galaxy groups; several groups contain gas-poor galaxies that ordinarily would contain detectable quantities of H i – this is interpreted as being caused by an increased chance of gas-sweeping collisions in the group environment; and some evidence is found to support previous findings that compact groups preferentially occur in loose systems. 相似文献

An extensive concentration of neutral hydrogen has been observed in the fourth galactic quadrant, with a mean radial velocity of +44 km s?1 referred to the local standard of rest. At a distance ofR kpc from the Sun this structure would contain 2.5×104 R 2 solar masses of neutral hydrogen. Five possible interpretations of this extensive concentration are considered: (1) part of the shell of a nearby explosive event; (2) a distant spiral arm of the Galaxy; (3) an extragalactic object; (4) material falling into our Galaxy; (5) gas expelled from the galactic center. Observed properties of interstellar neutral hydrogen filaments suggest the presence of the Bennett pinch as described by the Carlqvist relationship with rotation around the filament axes included. A brief summary is first given of three ways in which a filament model for interstellar cloud structure was tested. Preliminary results from highresolution HI mapping of gas and dust in an apparent HI cloud indicate that the neutral gas and dust within and around its boundary is itself highly filamentary. An attempt to detect magnetic fields in this and similar features using the Zeeman effect technique at the 21-cm wavelength of interstellar neutral hydrogen set upper limits of a fewµG. In contrast, the strength of the toroidal magnetic field expected from the examination of the Carlqvist relationship is of order 5µG, which would be produced by a current of 1.4 · 1013 A. Zeeman effect technology is at present not able to detect toroidal magnetic fields of this order at the edge of barely resolved HI filaments. Nevertheless, currently available high-resolution HI data suggest that interstellar filament physics should take into account the role of currents and pinches for creating and stabilizing the structures. 相似文献

Starting from Bosma (1981) paper, it was demonstrated by different authors that the observed shape of rotation curves of many spiral galaxies can be explained if to assume that the radial density distribution of the dark matter is correlated with the distribution of HI: the column densities of the dark matter and HI are proportional. We show that this correlation is obviously to be an artifact and can be explained by assuming that the gas surface density is approximately equal or in general proportional to the critical density for the local gravitational stability of gaseous layer. 相似文献
