Water samples were collected over P. pouchelii bloom period beginning in November 1988, in 15m water column, from 10km offshore of Davis Station, Vestfold Hill, Antarctica. The concentrations of acrylic acid and dimethyl sulphide (DMS), which are toxic compounds in the water samples, were determined by HPLC and GC. The result shows that the concentration of acrylic acid varies in 0.001-0.510vmol·L~(-1) and the concentration of DMS in 0.003-0.588 ~mol·L~(-1) during P. pouchetii bloom. Both the increased since late December 1988 and reached the highest concentration in early January 1989, then they decreased rapidly and returned to lower level from middle January to February in agreement with variation in cell number of the unicell alga P. pouchetii. The correlation coefficients between acrylic acid and P. pouchetii and between DMS and P. pouchetii are all 0.998. It is undoubted that P. pouchetii produced acrylic acid and DMS. The diatom concentration of a uniform lake sediment sample was estimated in 15 laboratories. Whilst 21 of 35 estimates were between 13 and 19 × 107 valves g-1, values ranged from 8.2 × 106 to 2.0 × 109 valves g-1. However, counts from replicate sediment digestions, replicate slide preparations from a single digested slurry, and multiple counts from an individual slide all yielded internally consistent results, with acceptably low coefficients of variation (±4.5–6.3%). Without greater efforts towards harmonization, for example by calibrating techniques to a standard of known concentration, reported diatom concentration values, as well as derived data such as diatom accumulation rates, are not directly comparable between most laboratories. This sharply contrasts the strong reproducibility of diatom relative frequency data. A calibration exercise, using the Eucalyptus pollen spike technique to estimate a known concentration of Lycopodium spores, demonstrates that this method performs best when approximately equal proportions of microfossils and introduced markers are counted.  相似文献

We recover the gross space–time characteristics of high-frequency (HF) radiator of the great Sumatra-Andaman islands earthquake of 2004 December 26 ( M w= 9.1–9.3) using the time histories of the power of radiated HF P waves. To determine these time histories we process teleseismic P waves at 36 BB stations, using, in sequence: (1) bandpass filtering (four bands: 0.4–1.2, 1.2–2, 2–3 and 3–4 Hz); (2) squaring wave amplitudes, making 'power signals' for each band and (3) stripping the propagation-related distortion ( P coda, etc.) from the power signal and thus recovering source time function for HF power. In step (3) we employ an inverse filter constructed from an empirical Green's function, which is estimated as the power signal from an aftershock. For each ray we thus obtain signals with relatively well-defined end and no coda. From these signals we extract: total duration (joint estimate for all four bands) and temporal centroid of signal power for each band. Through linear inversion, the set of duration values for a set of rays delivers estimates of the rupture stopping point and stopping time. Similarly, the set of temporal centroids can be inverted to obtain the position of the space–time centroid of HF energy radiator. The quality of inversion for centroid is acceptable for lower-frequency bands but deteriorates for higher-frequency bands where only a fraction of stations provide useful data. For the source length and duration the following joint estimates were obtained: 1241 ± 224 km, 550 ± 10 s. The estimated stopping point position corresponds to the northern extremity of the aftershock zone. Spatial HF radiation centroids are located at distances 350–700 km from the epicentre, in a systematic way: the higher is the frequency, the farther is the centroid from the epicentre. 利用试验资料,对蒸散面积2 m2和4 m2两种尺寸蒸渗计测量蒸散量的差异及原因进行了研究。结果表明:2 m2蒸渗计与4 m2蒸渗计所测蒸散量具有很好的一致性,但2 m2蒸渗计所测蒸散量总体要略偏大,日蒸散量平均偏大4%,月蒸散量平均偏大10%,年蒸散量相对偏大5%;典型天气条件下,2 m2蒸渗计和4 m2蒸渗计所测蒸散量的日变化过程基本相同,小时蒸散量的差异表现为晴天时白天显著偏大、夜晚略有偏小,阴天时白天略偏大、夜晚较接近,雨天时白天、夜晚均非常接近的特征。晴天和阴天时,2 m2蒸渗计比4 m2蒸渗计测量日蒸散量分别偏大1.78 mm和0.12 mm,雨天时偏小0.11 mm;2 m2蒸渗计比4 m2蒸渗计测量蒸散量总体偏大的原因,主要是2 m2蒸渗计土壤温度显著高于4 m2蒸渗计和建造时间不同导致土体内部土壤湿度产生差异。  相似文献

In 1977, Taylor proposed a constant elasticity model relating capacity choice in mines to reserves. A test of this model using a very large (n = 1,195) dataset confirms its validity but obtains significantly different estimated values for the model coefficients. Capacity is somewhat inelastic with respect to reserves, with an elasticity of 0.65 estimated for open-pit plus block-cave underground mines and 0.56 for all other underground mines. These new estimates should be useful for capacity determinations as scoping studies and as a starting point for feasibility studies. The results are robust over a wide range of deposit types, deposit sizes, and time, consistent with physical constraints on mine capacity that are largely independent of technology.  相似文献

Ecological optima and tolerances with respect to autumn pH were estimated for 63 diatom taxa in 47 Finnish lakes. The methods used were weighted averaging (WA), least squares (LS) and maximum likelihood (ML), the two latter methods assuming the Gaussian response model.WA produces optimum estimates which are necessarily within the observed lake pH range, whereas there is no such restriction in ML and LS. When the most extreme estimates of ML and LS were excluded, a reasonably close agreement among the results of different estimation methods was observed. When the species with unrealistic optima were excluded, the tolerance estimates were also rather similar, although the ML estimates were systematically greater.The parameter estimates were used to predict the autumn pH of 34 other lakes by weighted averaging. The ML and LS estimates including the extreme optima produced inferior predictions. A good prediction was obtained, however, when prediction with these estimates was additionally scaled with inverse squared tolerances, or when the extreme values were removed (censored). Tolerance downweighting was perhaps more efficient, and when it was used, no additional improvement was gained by censoring. The WA estimates produced good predictions without any manipulations, but these predictions tended to be biased towards the centroid of the observed range of pH values.At best, the average bias in prediction, as measured by mean difference between predicted and observed pH, was 0.082 pH units and the standard deviation of the differences, measuring the average random prediction error, was 0.256 pH units.  相似文献

蒸发是水文循环的一个重要过程,也是影响区域水资源量的重要因素。通过选取黄土高原50个气象站1959-2015年的逐月气象资料,应用FAO修正的Penman-Monteith模型计算黄土高原潜在蒸发量,采用Mann-Kendall检验与空间插值分析其时空变化特征,探讨各气象要素对潜在蒸发量的影响。结果表明:黄土高原多年平均潜在蒸发量在780~1 470 mm之间,由西北向东南递减。1959-2015年,黄土高原潜在蒸发量变化率为5.64 mm·(10 a)-1;春季变化率最大,其次为夏季和秋季,冬季最小。从空间分布看,西部、中北部地区和东南部地区潜在蒸发量均呈非显著性增加趋势。太阳净辐射量增加是黄土高原潜在蒸发量增加的主导因子,其次为实际水汽压、风速和温度。  相似文献

The need to integrate large quantities of digital geoscience information to classify locations as mineral deposits or nondeposits has been met by the weights-of-evidence method in many situations. Widespread selection of this method may be more the result of its ease of use and interpretation rather than comparisons with alternative methods. A comparison of the weights-of-evidence method to probabilistic neural networks is performed here with data from Chisel Lake-Andeson Lake, Manitoba, Canada. Each method is designed to estimate the probability of belonging to learned classes where the estimated probabilities are used to classify the unknowns. Using these data, significantly lower classification error rates were observed for the neural network, not only when test and training data were the same (0.02 versus 23%), but also when validation data, not used in any training, were used to test the efficiency of classification (0.7 versus 17%). Despite these data containing too few deposits, these tests of this set of data demonstrate the neural network's ability at making unbiased probability estimates and lower error rates when measured by number of polygons or by the area of land misclassified. For both methods, independent validation tests are required to ensure that estimates are representative of real-world results. Results from the weights-of-evidence method demonstrate a strong bias where most errors are barren areas misclassified as deposits. The weights-of-evidence method is based on Bayes rule, which requires independent variables in order to make unbiased estimates. The chi-square test for independence indicates no significant correlations among the variables in the Chisel Lake–Andeson Lake data. However, the expected number of deposits test clearly demonstrates that these data violate the independence assumption. Other, independent simulations with three variables show that using variables with correlations of 1.0 can double the expected number of deposits as can correlations of –1.0. Studies done in the 1970s on methods that use Bayes rule show that moderate correlations among attributes seriously affect estimates and even small correlations lead to increases in misclassifications. Adverse effects have been observed with small to moderate correlations when only six to eight variables were used. Consistent evidence of upward biased probability estimates from multivariate methods founded on Bayes rule must be of considerable concern to institutions and governmental agencies where unbiased estimates are required. In addition to increasing the misclassification rate, biased probability estimates make classification into deposit and nondeposit classes an arbitrary subjective decision. The probabilistic neural network has no problem dealing with correlated variables—its performance depends strongly on having a thoroughly representative training set. Probabilistic neural networks or logistic regression should receive serious consideration where unbiased estimates are required. The weights-of-evidence method would serve to estimate thresholds between anomalies and background and for exploratory data analysis.  相似文献

Summary. The geopotential is usually expressed as an infinite series of spherical harmonics, and the odd zonal harmonics are the terms independent of longitude and antisymmetric about the equator: they define the 'pear-shape' effect. The coefficients J 3, J 5, J 7, … of these harmonics have been evaluated by analysing the variations in eccentricity of 28 satellite orbits from near-equatorial to polar. Most of the orbits from our previous determination in 1974 are used again, but three new orbits are added, including two at inclinations between 62° and 63°, which have been specially observed for more than five years by the Hewitt cameras. With the help of the new orbits and revised theory, we have obtained sets of J -coefficients with standard deviations about 40 per cent lower than before. A 9-coefficient set is chosen as representative, and is as follows (all × 109): J 3=– 2530 ± 4, J 5=–245 ± 5, J 7=–336 ± 6, J 9=–90 ± 7, J 11= 159 ± 9, J 13=–158 ± 15, J 15=– 20 ± 15, J 17=– 236 ± 14, J 19=– 27 ± 19. With this set of values, the pear-shape asymmetry of the geoid (north polar minus south polar radius) amounts to 45.1 m instead of the previous 44.7 m. The accuracy of the longitude-averaged geoid profile is estimated as 50 cm, except at latitudes above 86°. The geoid profile and predicted amplitude of the oscillation in eccentricity are compared with those from other sources.  相似文献

Summary. A zone of concentrated induced electric currents crossing parts of Zimbabwe, Botswana and South West Africa was discovered during a magnetovariational study conducted in 1972. In 1977, a second study was made with 27 recording magnetometers distributed across the width of South West Africa between latitudes 19 and 22°S. Several geomagnetic disturbances were recorded with high recording efficiencies. Three of these time sequences were digitized for analysis. Magnetograms and Fourier transform amplitude and phase maps in the period range 22–128min were used to delineate the westward continuation of the conductive structure revealed by the earlier investigation. The conductive zone runs approximately east-west from the Botswana border (21°E) to 17°E longitude. From here to the Atlantic coast it trends in a NE—SW direction. Anomalous fields, normalized to the horizontal field at a station recording the normal field, were used to obtain maximum depth estimates of around 45 km for the induced currents. Several deep Schlumberger soundings were done over the anomalous zone and the results showed that the conductive structure is, in places, only 3 km from the surface and that it has a resistivity of less than 20 Ωm. The resistivity of the upper crust outside the structure ranges from 5000 to more than 20000 Ωm. Some 14 post-Karoo alkaline igneous complexes occur along the course of the resistivity anomaly. These intrusive complexes represent the youngest igneous activity in the Damara Orogenic Belt and were most probably emplaced along a line of weakness in the lithosphere. The resistivity anomaly would seem to delineate this line of weakness.  相似文献

中国第30次南极科学考察期间,在中山站邻近固定冰区采集了两支海冰冰芯并首次分析其中的DMS、DMSP含量。结果表明,两支冰芯上层均含有较高浓度的DMSP+DMS,分别高达114.93及134.41 nmol·L-1。冰芯中DMS、DMSP+DMS浓度随深度的增加而递减。两支冰芯顶部DMSP+DMS高值的成因不同,冰芯1主要受藻类活动影响而产生DMSP+DMS高值,冰芯2主要是由于雪层及薄冰层阻碍,致使DMS在冰芯顶部聚集产生DMS高值。因为海冰底部较高生物量的海冰融化进入水体,所观测的剩余海冰底部Chl a、DMSP+DMS值均较低。在海冰的融化过程中,卤道内的卤水可发生垂向运输,致使冰芯中Chl a、DMSP+DMS的垂直分布有所不同。冰芯的Chl a、DMSP+DMS总量分别为6.79和10.20、51.83和88.41μmol·m-2,与前人研究结果比较,在海冰融化过程中,海冰中Chl a、DMSP+DMS总量变化的总趋势是递减的。  相似文献

以东南极罗斯岛地区的3个湖泊沉积剖面为研究对象,利用紫外-可见-近红外反射光谱仪获得了沉积物样品的光谱曲线,讨论了东南极罗斯岛湖泊沉积物的光谱特征。在沉积物化学元素分析的基础上将样品分成建模集和验证集,采用偏最小二乘法建立光谱与化学元素指标的对应关系矩阵,通过验证集预测值和测定值之间的误差参数比较,发现研究的20种元素含量均能和光谱曲线建立有效的计算关系,其中,N、C、H、Mn、Ba、P、Al、Fe、K、Se、As和Hg等元素能够达到相当精确的预测水平(预测值与测量值之间的相关系数r20.90)。本研究结果表明,利用近红外反射光谱快速分析东南极湖泊沉积物中元素含量是一种潜在有效的方法。  相似文献

Weighted averaging is widely used for inferring environmental conditions from an observed species assemblage. However, weighted average inferences are known to be systematically biased, and linear corrections (i.e., deshrinking functions) are commonly applied to adjust for this bias. In this analysis, the magnitude of the biases in weighted average inferences (and therefore the values of the deshrinking coefficients) are shown to depend upon the range of conditions sampled in the calibration data set and the true optima and niche breadths of the species observed in the calibration data set. Since the range of conditions and the observed species can differ between the calibration data set and the new data set for which environmental conditions are inferred, the coefficients for the deshrinking function derived using the calibration data may not be applicable to inferences computed using a new data set. Thus, environmental inferences may still exhibit systematic errors even after application of the linear correction. The findings from the theoretical analysis are demonstrated using stream temperature and macroinvertebrate data collected from wadeable streams in the western United States.  相似文献

准确、高效地掌握草原土壤属性的空间分布能够为草地资源境管理提供基础信息和参考依据。相比于传统土壤调查方法,基于模糊逻辑的土壤—环境推理能够提高野外采样效率和预测制图精度,被广泛应用于数字土壤制图。但由于土壤自身的空间变异性及其与环境条件间的非线性,现有推理模型的稳定性较低,尚未在高寒草原区进行应用。选择新疆巴音布鲁克典型亚高山草原地区约4 km^2区域为研究区,以高程、坡度、坡向、沿剖面曲率、沿等高线曲率、地形湿度指数6个地形因子为土壤环境因子,采用模糊C均值聚类(Fuzzy C-means Clustering,FCM)方法对环境因子聚类,得到9个环境因子组合,并在隶属度值高的环境因子组合中心共设置18个典型点。运用土壤—环境推理方法模拟研究区表层土壤pH值空间分布,其变化范围在7.170~8.186之间。选取35个独立样本进行精度检验(均匀采样点16个,横截面采样点9个,垂直带采样点10个),模拟结果与实测值基本吻合,且基于模糊聚类和土壤—环境推理方法的模拟精度高于普通克里格法和反距离权重法。通过基于模糊逻辑和土壤—环境推理的数字土壤制图方法在小尺度区域的运用验证,结果表明基于典型点的采样方案能够快速、有效地对区域土壤属性进行空间模拟,该方法对于类似小尺度的研究区同样有效。  相似文献

Assessment of climate change or climate variability is a significant topic in most geophysical disciplines. In this study, the flood frequency approach was selected to analyze changes in flood series. Discharge data from 55 gaging stations in Slovenia were used. The annual maximum method was applied to define the samples. The data sets were divided into 30-year periods based on a 10-year moving window. For each part of the data-set, the flood frequency analysis was performed. Changes in the estimated design discharge values with a 10-year return period, which is commonly used in engineering design, were observed for the two selected 30-year periods, namely 1961–1990 and 1981–2010, and the results were compared with the Mann–Kendall (MK) test. The results indicate that no uniform pattern can be found in the differences between estimated design discharge values for the two selected periods. The same applies to the MK trend test results, which were positive and statistically significant with the chosen significance level of 0.05 only for approximately 5% of stations. However, our comparison of the results of the flood frequency analyses among different 30-year periods showed considerable changes in the design discharge for some stations.  相似文献

Sediment transport rates were estimated for two flood events on the cobble-bed Sainte Marguerite River in the Saguenay region, Canada. Morphologic methods were used to derive one set of estimates, and a combination of the Meyer-Peter and Muller equation with a dimensionless sediment transport ratio (after Dietrich et al. [Nature 340 (1989) 215]) was used to derive another set of estimates. Both sets of estimates give consistent results for the first event (which had a decade-scale return period), and for the second event (which was the largest flood on record and had a century-scale return period). The transport occurring during the second event was an order of magnitude greater than that occurring during the first event: despite this disparity in the transport intensity of the two events, the channel morphology remained qualitatively similar. The observed degree of channel stability is attributed to a change of channel pattern and the initiation of bed degradation following channel rectification in the 1960s.  相似文献

在区域农田生态系统生产力模拟模型研究中,空间插值可以提供每个计算栅格的气象要素资料。然而,在众多的气象要素空间插值方法中,并没有一种适合每一个气象要素的普适的最佳插值方法。本文以全国725站1951~1990年整编资料中的旬平均温度和计算得来的675站的月乎均光合有效辐射日总量(PAR)为数据源,选用了距离平方反比法(IDS)、梯度距离平方反比法(GIDS)和普通克立格法(OK)等3种插值方法,进行了方法选取的探讨。交叉验证结果表明:3种方法中,温度插值的平均绝对误差(MAE)的排序为IDS>OK>GIDS,其值分别为2.15℃、1.90℃和 l.32℃;在作物生长季节(4-10月),MAE分别 20℃、1.9℃和 1.2℃ ,表明GIDS在温度插值方面更具实用价值;对于PAR,MAE的排序为OK>GIDS>IDS,其值分别为 0.83MJ/m2、071MJ/ m2和 0.46MJ/m2,说明复杂的方法并不必然具有更好的效果。对这2个气象要素的空间分布特征分析表明:温度和PAR的经、纬向梯度和高度梯度均具有明显的季节性变化特征;温度的纬向梯度有近似正弦曲线的较强的季节变化,表现为夏季高,而冬、春季低;温度的高度梯度年  相似文献

本文提出了基于遗传算法来寻找CA模型最佳参数的方法。CA被越来越多地应用于城市和土地利用等复杂系统的动态模拟。CA模型中变量的参数值对模拟结果有非常重要的影响。如何获取理想的参数值是模型的关键。传统的逻辑回归模型运算简单,常常用来获取模型的参数值,要求解释变量间线性无关,所以获取的城市CA模型参数具有一定的局限性。遗传算法在参数优化组合、快速搜索参数值方面有很大的优势。本文利用遗传算法来自动获取优化的CA模型参数值,并获得了纠正后的CA模型。将该模型应用于东莞1988~2004年的城市发展的模拟中,得到了较好的效果。研究结果表明,遗传算法可以有效地自动获取CA模型的参数,其模拟的结果要比传统的逻辑回归校正的CA模型模拟精度高。  相似文献
