We study the active region NOAA 9591 using observations at 1.92–10.17 cm obtained on two large Russian radio instruments: the RATAN-600 radio telescope and the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope. The active region was associated with an isolated spot at the photospheric level, whose magnetic field had a well-defined Delta configuration. The radio observations show that the structure of the coronal source located above the spot cannot be described in a simple (unipolar) cyclotron model. A comparison with X-ray observations indicates that the three-dimensional structure of the corona above the spot can be represented as a strongly elongated loop whose apex resembles a cusp brightening (a qualitative model for the structure is presented). Unexpectedly, radiation with a high degree of polarization (~25%) was detected far (~100 000 km) from the photosphere. The need for a quantitative model for coronal sources above the strong Delta-configuration magnetic fields, which are known to play an important role in active solar processes (flares, phenomena such as coronal-mass ejections) is outlined. Thanks to its simple morphology, which enabled the identification of a pure Delta configuration, the active region NOAA 9591 provides high-quality observational material for the creation of such a model.  相似文献

Two solar radio bursts exhibiting narrow-band millisecond pulsations in intensity and polarization are analyzed. There were considerable time delays between the left-and right-circularly polarized components of the radio emission. The observed oscillations of the degree of polarization are due to the different group velocities of the ordinary and extraordinary modes in their propagation from the source to the observer; the frequency dependence of the delay is in excellent agreement with the theoretically calculated group delay in a magnetoactive plasma. It unambiguously follows that the pulsed radio emission is generated near the double upper hybrid frequency by the nonlinear plasma mechanism, since the source emission has a low degree of polarization. In addition to dispersion effects, a Fourier analysis also reveals effects associated with the source inhomogeneity. We detected a frequency drift of pulsations (autodelays) with different signs for different polarization components. This drift suggests that, apart from the dispersion effects, there are also the effects related to inhomogeneity of the radio source. It is shown, in particular, that the upper hybrid modes (generating the radio emission) are unstable in regions with enhanced gradients of the plasma density and/or magnetic field.  相似文献

The radiation field of a point source with a specified power in the early Universe acting for a specified time in the radiation-dominated epoch after the annihilation of electron-positron pairs is considered. A three-component model for this period is adopted. The equations of radiative transfer for the source are formulated, taking into account polarization arising during scattering of the radiation by free electrons. Analytical, numerical, and asymptotic solutions of the transfer equation are obtained for a flat model in a one-dimensional approximation, which describe the evolution of the intensity and flux of scattered radiation of the source in periods close to the onset of its action. Intervals of redshift corresponding to these periods are estimated. The behavior of the linear polarization near the source is traced. It is shown that the source radiation can be comparable to the thermal background only if the source energy is very high or we consider regions in its immediate vicinity. More optimistic estimates will require that we take into account the decrease in the degree of ionization of matter in the epoch of recombination.  相似文献

Abstract From the determinations of surface heat flow based on silica geothermometry, residual heat flow, radiogenic heat production of rocks, thermal conductivities of rocks and so on, the temperatures at different depths of the lithosphere in Fujian Province are estimated by using a one-dimensional steady-state model. According to these and the research on geological structures, the possibility of existence of various geothermal systems in Fujian is discussed. The authors consider that in Fujian, geothermal systems related to shallow magmatism do not exist and hot dry rock systems can not be exploited for the time being. However, intermediate- and low-temperature hydrothermal systems are well developed. They are controlled by active faults and distributed widely in southeastern Fujian, but do not have an anomalous heat source. The groundwater circulates at great depths and has a temperature usually less than 150°C with less discharge but good quality. It can be used directly as a valuable geothermal water resource but not suitable to be developed as an energy source.  相似文献

Results of a study of the corona above a large sunspot in the active region NOAA 10105 with a penumbra size of ~70″ observed in September 2002 are reported. Maps of the active region and emission spectra were constructed using observational data from the NoRH, SSRT, and RATAN-600 telescopes. The sizes and brightness temperatures of the microwave emission above the sunspot are determined. SOHO/MDI and Kitt Peak magnetograms, as well as CaII K line images obtained at the Meudon Observatory, are compared. The derived characteristics are interpreted as cyclotron emission of thermal plasma, assuming a dipole structure for themagnetic field. A stable darkening at the sunspot center observed at short wavelengths and only in the ordinary emission mode was detected. A jump-like change was observed in the structure of the sunspot source in the ordinary emission mode, due to an increase in the size and spectral flux density. These results demand a fundamental correction of model concepts about cyclotron emission sources above sunspots, since they are at variance with the initial assumptions. It is suggested that, at the top of the transition region, the cyclotron emission source may be represented only by the third gyrolevel, but is observed in the extraordinary and ordinary emission modes (in contrast to the generally accepted model, which has a combination of the second and third gyrolevels). Taking into account the new observational data may allow us to refine model distributions of the main parameters of the coronal plasma above sunspots (the electron temperature and density) and information about the character of the magnetic field.  相似文献

Data on small active regions on the Sun collected over three years (2007–2009) are analyzed. Under very quiescent conditions (a low X-ray background level), the shapes of the coronal loops of some active regions correspond fairly well to the shapes of magnetic-field lines calculated in a potential approximation. This is true of several active regions (e.g., the group AR 10999 in June 2008) in which no flares more powerful than B3 were observed. The radio emission of this active region detected by the RATAN-600 telescope was very weak and virtually no polarization was detected. Subflares were observed in most groups. It is demonstrated using AR 10933 (January 2007) as an example that a growth in the soft X-ray emission by up to factors of ten simultaneous with an increase in the radio flux is characteristic for such active regions. A source with the opposite polarization developed to the Northwest of the main spot in AR 10933. A series of SOHO/MDI (and also Hinode) magnetograms shows the emergence of new magnetic flux before the development of this polarized source, which continued for several hours on January 8, 2007. The current density at surfaces located at various heights is estimated based on observations of the total vector magnetic field (Hinode data) and a non-linear, force-free magnetic-field extrapolation. The height-integrated current becomes appreciably stronger at two nodes above a field neutral line, near the location of the main emerging flux. This supports the idea that the emergence of new magnetic flux is a key factor in the evolution of active regions at all stages of their existence. The development of this picture could help in elucidating the inter-relationship between current enhancements, plasma heating, and particle acceleration, in both weak active regions and strong activity complexes.  相似文献

We report the detection of long-lived sources of radio bursts accompanied by polarized background emission in solar active regions. Both types of radio sources were detected at several decimeter wavelengths in observations on the RATAN-600 radio telescope in one-dimensional scans in intensity and circular polarization with a sensitivity of about 5–10 Jy. The degree of polarization is from 70 to 100%. The microburst and background sources exist for several days and appear at sites of prolonged energy release. The typical duration of an individual microburst is about 1–2 s, and the time interval between microbursts is about 3–5 s. A negative microburst frequency drift of about 100 MHz/s or more is also observed. Some interpretations of the microburst and background sources are discussed. The most probable microburst model involves the generation of radio emission via the plasma mechanism, with the upward propagation of fast electrons above an active region. In this case, the required energy of the Langmuir waves is 2×10?8 of the heat energy of the background plasma. Microbursts appear in different places in an active region. New methods for determining the magnetic-field intensity in the regions of generation of the decimeter-wavelength emission are proposed.  相似文献

The system of radiative-transfer equations for polarized radiation is solved analytically using an azimuth-averaged Hanle phase matrix. A Milne-Eddington model with a constant ratio of the line and continuum absorption coefficients and a linear dependence of the source function on optical depth is adopted for the atmosphere. The vector magnetic field is taken to be constant with optical depth. The dependence of the linear polarization obtained during observations at the solar limb on the magnitude and inclination of the magnetic field to the normal of the atmosphere is presented as an illustration of the theoretical computations. The measured polarization corresponds to two magnetic-field values and several possible field inclinations. The measured polarization is directly proportional to the quantum coefficient W 2 determining the resonance polarization in lines.  相似文献

众多研究表明黄河源区受气候变化影响,土壤活动层逐渐下降。土壤温、湿度是陆面过程及地球系统中的重要物理量,它们通过影响地表能量和物质交换而影响大气环流和降水等。利用WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting)模式,选取2个典型年分别设计了2个控制试验和2个敏感性试验来探讨土壤初始状况变化对区域水循环的影响,通过再循环降水率定量描述不同气候背景下陆面对黄河源区水循环的影响,并尝试从环流角度进一步分析土壤初始状况改变对源区水循环影响的物理机制。结果表明:陆面对水循环的影响受大尺度环流背景场影响较大,较弱的环流背景下再循环降水率较强环流背景大5%左右。土壤初始状况对水循环要素有一定程度的影响。土壤初始温度升高/降低,水汽通量增多/减少,后期降水增大/减小。不同环流背景下,土壤记忆时间不同,在弱的环流背景下,土壤记忆时间要长,初始状况扰动可持续1~2个月。  相似文献

We have calculated the degree and position angle of the polarization of radiation scattered in a magnetized, optically thin or optically thick envelope around a central source, taking into account Faraday rotation of the plane of polarization during the propagation of the scattered radiation and the finite size of the radiation source. The wavelength dependence of the degree of polarization can be used to estimate the magnetic field of the source (a star, the region around a neutron star, or a black hole), and we have used our calculations to estimate the magnetic fields in a number of individual objects: several hot O and Wolf-Rayet stars, compact objects in X-ray close binaries with black holes (SS 433, Cyg X-1), and supernovae. The spectrum of the linear polarization can be used to determine the magnetic field in the vicinity of a central supermassive black hole, where the polarized optical radiation is generated. In a real physical model, this value can be extrapolated to the region of the last stable orbit. In the future, the proposed technique will make it possible to directly estimate the magnetic field in the region of the last stable orbit of a supermassive black hole using X-ray polarimetry.  相似文献

This paper deals with natural temperature records in the heavy (asphaltenes) and the light fractions (C7—light hydrocarbons) of petroleum. Two sets of marine oils formed from different source rocks and petroleum systems were studied using asphaltene kinetics and light hydrocarbon analysis. Both fractions have been reported to contain information about the temperature the respective oils have been exposed to in the subsurface. These indicated temperatures generally correspond to the conditions in the source rock when expulsion occurred. Bulk kinetic analysis of reservoir oil asphaltenes as well as light hydrocarbon (LH) analysis (of dimethylpentanes) were used here in order to evaluate the expulsion temperatures. Surprisingly, when considering information coming from both fractions, an inverse trend between LHs expulsion temperatures (Ctemp) and asphaltenes (Tasph.) can be observed—high Tasph (asphaltene temperatures) occur with low LH Ctemp (light hydrocarbon expulsion temperatures) and low Tasph can be observed when Ctemp is high. These differences are of fundamental importance for the use of such geochemical data in calibrating numerical basin models. The reason for this inverse behaviour is possibly due to the different expulsion behaviour of light hydrocarbons and the heavy fraction of oils, especially when the source rocks contain only moderate amounts of organic matter. In addition it has to be considered that the temperature predictions obtained using asphaltene kinetic analysis are related to the onset temperature of petroleum expulsion, while light hydrocarbons provide, at best, average expulsion temperatures.  相似文献

利用1993年1月份的SSM/I亮度温度数据反演了青藏高原的雪水当量,首先使用被动微波SSM/I数据19和37GHz的水平极化数据来反演雪深,根据积雪时间的函数来计算实时的雪密度,由雪的深度和密度计算出雪水当量.最后,利用SSM/I数据的19和37GHz的垂直极化亮度温度梯度对计算出的雪水当量进行回归分析,得到了利用SSM/I数据直接反演雪水当量的算法.  相似文献

The results of dual-frequency polarization observations of 12 gamma-ray quasars are presented (as a continuation of a study of six blazars carried out earlier). The observations were obtained with the American Very Long Baseline Array. The distributions of intensity and polarization were obtained at 5 and 15 GHz. The degrees of polarization in the cores and jets of the 18 gamma-ray quasars do not stand out from those of other quasars. The brightness temperatures of the core components do not strongly exceed 1012 K.  相似文献

A network of 10 OBS operating in continuous recording mode was deployed in June 2003 in the Galicia passive Margin, surrounding the sinking zone of the ‘Prestige’ oil tanker. The OBSs recorded very different signals, including air-gun shots, seismic events, whale vocalizations or noise associated to ships, as well as two sets of atypical seismic signals that are the object of this contribution and can be described as harmonic tremors and short-duration events. Harmonic tremors appear in most sites as intense monochromatic signals lasting for up to 4 h, with coherent polarization and a wide range of amplitudes. Even if they may be recorded at different sites within a time interval, their envelopes are not correlated, suggesting a source origin at the vicinity of each receiver. A time periodicity close to 6 h is observed, suggesting a correlation with the tidal variation. Most OBSs show also a large number of impulsive events of short-duration, between 1 and 2 s, a very regular decrease of amplitude in the signal coda and characteristic frequency spectrum with one or two narrow peaks. As for the tremors, those events are detected only in individual sites, suggesting very local source zones. We favor the interpretation of both seismic features as coming from the resonance of fluid-filled cracks induced by impulsive pressure transients, in agreement with the theoretical model of Chouet [Chouet, B. 1988. Resonance of a fluid-driven crack: radiation properties and implications for the source of long-period events and harmonic tremor. J. Geophys. Res., 93, 4375–4400.]. The observed harmonic tremors would be the result of sustained pressure fluctuations, probably related to the stress variations induced by the tidal change of the oceanic load, while the short duration events are interpreted as the impulse response to the tremor-generating system.  相似文献

提出了近断层强地震动预测中建立活断层上设定地震有限断层震源模型的方法和步骤.首先,根据地震地质和地震活动性调查以及地球物理勘探等资料,确定活断层的空间方位和滑动类型; 然后,根据地震定标律确定活断层的宏观震源参数; 第三,将高强体模型与k平方滑动模型相结合,产生断层破裂面上的混合滑动分布.在此基础上,预测了与1994年Northridge地震断层类型、矩震级(Mw6.7)基本一致的设定地震的有限断层震源模型.最后,将预测的有限断层震源模型与基于地震学的、使用动力学拐角频率的地震动随机合成方法相结合,预测了1994年Northridge地震近断层12个基岩台站的加速度时程,并和实际记录进行了对比.结果表明,用上述方法和步骤建立的有限断层震源模型是可行、实用的.   相似文献

Reconnaisance ALVIN dives in the sediment-filled southern trough of the Guaymas Basin found active hot springs with temperatures ranging up to 315°C. High temperature activity is generally restricted to the crests of large mounds that rise out of the flat-lying basin sediments. The chemistry of the hydrothermal waters is distinctly different from that characteristic of sediment-starved, open ocean ridge axes in that the solutions are alkaline, contain ammonium as a major ion and are strongly depleted in the “ore-forming” metals. These compositions are interpreted as the result of reaction of a primary solution, similar in composition to those as 21°N, EPR, with the biogenous sediments overlying the intrusion zone. The pH of this fluid is raised both by the dissolution of carbonate and the addition of ammonium from thermocatalytic cracking of immature planktonic carbon. Metal sulfides are consequently precipitated at depth in the sediment column. The Guaymas Basin is thus the site of active formation of a sediment-hosted massive sulfide mineral deposit; the exiting waters are the “spent” ore-forming fluid. The ammonium data demonstrate that organic carbon (black shale) is, by itself, a sufficient source of alkalinity to induce the precipitation of sulfides from ascending solutions. Since ammonium does not participate directly in these reactions but does form secondary aluminosilicate minerals these latter should constitute a valuable exploration tool in the search for shale hosted deposits.  相似文献

The Salton Sea geothermal system (SSGS) is the site of active hydrothermal metamorphism and metallogenesis in the delta of the Colorado River, which partially fills the Salton Trough rift zone at the head of the Gulf of California. Growth of the delta across the rift has isolated the northern part of the Salton Trough since the Pleistocene, forming the evaporative Salton Sea basin whose sediments host the SSGS. More than 70 commercial geothermal wells, including a 3.2 km deep research borehole drilled as part of the Salton Sea Scientific Drilling Project (SSSDP), are yielding a wealth of new data from this system.Within the SSGS, active greenschist facies metamorphism is occuring at temperatures 365°C at only 2–3 km depth, by reaction of NaCaKFeMnCl brines with the deltaic and lacustrine Pilo-Pleistocene sediments. Two kinds of base metal ore mineralization occur at depth: stratabound diagenetic Fe sulfides, and epigenetic vertical veins containing FeZnCuPb sulfides and Fex oxides. The vein mineralization occurs as two types: an older, reduced carbonate-sulfide assemblage, and a modern, oxidized, silicate-hematite-sulfide assemblage. The earlier assemblage formed at temperatures up to 100°C higher than the ambient temperatures measured in the wells today, implying that cooler, oxidized fluids have displaced hot, reduced fluids.A sharp interface between shallow fluids containing <12 wt % TDS and deep hypersaline brines containing 15–27 wt % TDS exists in the SSGS. The deeper hypersaline brines are rich in base metals (Fe 1500 ppm, Mn 1000 ppm, Zn 500 ppm) whereas the overlying lower-salinity fluids contain less than 100 ppm each of Fe, Mn and Zn. The modern silicate-hematite-sulfide vein assemblage is precipitating where the two fluids appear to be mixing. The two fluid types also have distincty different δ18O and δD relations. The shallow lower-salinity fluids have only partially-exchanged oxygen with deltaic and lacustrine host rocls. The deep hypersaline brines have exchanged oxygen extensively at 250°C with the deltaic sediments. δD values of the hypersaline brines are typically lighter than either the lower-salinity fluids or the modern evaporating groundwaters occupying the Salton Trough, implying a different source for the original fluids.The high salinities of the geothermal brines are derived from a combination of evaporation of fossil lakewaters, groundwater dissolution of shallow lacustrine evaporites, and subsurface hydrothermal metamorphism of buried lacustrine evaporites. Episodic filling and desiccation of the closed Salton Sea basin has allowed cold saline brines to form and percolate down into the sedimentary section. In some wells anyhydrite meta-evaporites and interbedded solution collapse breccias occur at 1 km depth. The anyhydrite contains fluid inclusions that are saturated in halite at their homogenization temperatures of 300°C, recording the hydrothermal dissolution of bedded salt. Based on Sr and Pb isotopic data and whole-rock chemical data, the source of the metals in the hypersaline brines is from leaching of the host sediments. However, the origin of reduced S for ore mineralization remains an enigma. δ34S values for vein sulfides cluster uniformly around zero per mil, implying that an isotopically-homogeneous source of reduced sulfide exists in the brines. It is possible that the vein sulfides receive a constribution from a magmatic S source.Movement and mixing of brines of different chemistry and oxidation states play a major role in ore genesis. Our model envisages an early stage in which a deep brine pool accumulated at depth in the sedimentary section by partial section by partial evaporation of basin and dissolution of bedded salts. Intrusion of rift-related basaltic magma into the base of the sedimentary caused heatingand fracturing of the sediments, resulting in precipitation of the carbonate-sulfide veins during pore fluid expulsion. Heating also caused a diapir of the hypersaline brine to rise and displace colder, less saline, shallower pore fluids. This brine intrusion was accompanied by pervasive and extensive mineralization. As this diapir cooled it began to move downward, drawing in shallow, more oxidized fluids and causing the formation of the modern silicate-hematite-sulfide vein ore zone.  相似文献

Special attention is paid to the problem of electric current generation in a seismic source zone. Hyperfiltration is sometimes cited as a mechanism to explain high degrees of calcite cementation at shale/sandstone contacts. To test this cementation mechanism, a series of experiments were performed in which solutions undersaturated with respect to calcite were hydraulically forced through a Ca-bentonite at different flow rates. Calcite precipitate was observed on the bentonite membrane from hyperfiltrated stock solutions having initial calcite saturation indices of 0.91 and 0.59. Supersaturation conditions at the clay's high-pressure interface are likely provided by establishment of a concentration polarization layer.In the subsurface, the driving force for hyperfiltration is a differential hydraulic pressure gradient acting across a shale membrane. This hydraulically-induced flux of solution causes a build-up of solute at the shale's high-pressure interface to levels that may exceed saturation indices of common cementing minerals like calcite. Although the source of the hydraulic pressure is likely due to compaction within the sedimentary pile, directional flow constraints suggest that hyperfiltration-induced precipitation of calcite occurs at sand/shale boundaries away from areas of active compaction.  相似文献
