The aims of this study were to summarize current knowledge of a large runout prehistoric landslide, critically review all of the existing data and, in particular, gather new data in order to estimate the age of the accumulation and reveal the movement mechanism. The reconstruction of a large rockslide-rock avalanche in the NW part of the Czech Republic was supported by the analysis and interpretation of 216 boreholes and by GIS analysis of the original 1950s pre-mining surface using digitized old military topographic maps. For the age estimation, we used the Schmidt hammer test. The total volume of the quaternary deposit was calculated to be between 25.4 and 27.4 mil m3, occupying an area of 778,000 m2 and consisting of six to eight generations of colluvial sediments. Three main landslide events were identified based on extensive Schmidt hammer sampling, and the approximate age was established using a regression equation assembled by Engel (2007). All three of the documented events occurred around the time of significant climate change. The oldest event occurred due to the Oldest Dryas warming, the largest event probably occurred at the end of the Younger Dryas (11,700 yBP), and the youngest of the documented events was purely of a Holocene age, with the highest landslide frequency being during the Atlantic temperature fluctuations (approximately 8200 yBP). The slope deformation occurred on a fault slope with a relative height of over 400 m and in tectonically weakened rocks. Sediments in the Most Basin were weakened from meltwater during rapid warming periods, which allowed mobilization of rockslide deposits and runout of up to 1000 m from the mountain foothills. 相似文献

Late Variscan wolframite (± molybdenite) and cassiterite–wolframite greisen, skarn and vein deposits occur in a close spatial association with the granites of the Krušné hory/Erzgebirge batholith (KHEB) in Central Europe. We examined the distribution of the deposits in relation to the gravity field affected by Late Variscan granites using the data from previous gravity and metallogenic studies. Late Variscan granites are differentiated into earlier biotite monzogranites (low-F granites) and later biotite or lithium mica syenogranites (high-F granites) in accordance with the previous classifications. All the outcrops of granites in the KHEB region and their hidden continuation are confined to the Bouguer anomaly contour of − 20 mGal. The Sn–W–Mo (rare metal) deposits and occurrences are within the gravity contour of − 30 mGal with the exception of the Grossschirma stratiform tin deposit in the Freiberg polymetallic ore district. We constructed a geological model based on the gravity data along two profiles across the KHEB showing the position of some rare metal deposits and of outcropping and hidden granite bodies. The models show that the overlapping of earlier and later granites is in the areas of the most intense regional gravity minima. These coincide with the Eastern Volcano-Plutonic Complex (Altenberg minimum), which encloses large volumes of felsic extrusives, microgranite dikes and granites, and the Western Plutonic Complex (Eibenstock minimum), with small volumes of felsic dikes and predominance of earlier and later granites, with no extrusives preserved. There is no distinct relationship between the masses of Late Variscan granites and the distribution and the sizes of associated W ± Mo and Sn–W deposits. We prefer the idea that rare metal mineralization was formed by hydrothermal fluids derived from outside of presently outcropping granites. It originated in two cycles: one connected with the formation of earlier granites producing W ± Mo associations and the other one associated with later granites connected with Sn–W mineralization. Mineralizing fluids were probably generated by mantle–crustal interaction in the crust near the mantle–crust boundary as also indicated by lamprophyric intrusions coeval with the Late Variscan granitic magmatism. 相似文献

We report new occurrences of “two-phase” granitic textures from the Western Krušné hory/Erzgebirge pluton (central Europe)
and use crystal-size distribution data and thermodynamic modeling to interpret their crystallization conditions. The two-phase
texture consists of (1) early phenocrysts of quartz, plagioclase, K-feldspar and biotite, (2) medium-grained matrix of the
same phases and (3) interstitial channels and patches of a late-stage, very fine-grained matrix. The porphyritic two-mica
microgranites, which host two-phase textures, occur as minor intrusions in early low-F biotite granites or as marginal parts
of evolved high-F Li-mica granites. Measurements of the crystal-size distribution of quartz revealed three grain populations:
(1) early phenocrysts (0.5–3.0 mm) showing partial resorption by residual melt, (2) a medium-grained population of the equigranular
rock matrix (0.05–0.50 mm) that experienced minor coarsening by subsolidus annealing and (3) a fine-grained population (<0.03 mm)
in the interstitial channels and patches formed during rapid devolatilization; this quartz group shows no or poor grain coarsening.
All samples exhibit similar fraction of the fine-grained population (44–52%) but proportions of phenocrysts to medium-grained
matrix vary significantly. Thermodynamic modeling of liquidus equilibria and experimental data in the hydrous haplogranite
system require: (1) ascent of a granitic suspension (15–25% phenocrysts) under H2O-undersaturated conditions at 25–45 bar/°C and a cooling rate of 40 J/(g kbar) in order to produce partial resorption of
quartz phenocrysts and continued growth of feldspar phenocrysts, followed by (2) emplacement as discrete intrusions or bodies
along pluton roof accompanied by sudden devolatilization. At the onset of matrix nucleation, disequilibrium undercooling of
70–85°C was inferred from the presence of micrographic intergrowths of quartz and K-feldspar. The two-phase granites in the
Western Krušné hory/Erzgebirge pluton and in the Southeast Asian batholith form compositionally narrow groups with high-silica
and moderate volatile enrichments but they differ in peraluminosity and phosphorus concentrations.

In the central Iron Mountains the ore-mineralized deformation zones represent deep reaching faults which possibly reach the upper mantle. During geological history they were used by ascending magmas, fluids, and barren and ore hydrothermal solutions. It can be shown that the metasomatism provoked by acid fluids bears the character of greisenization. The type of the original greisenized rocks here can be determined on the basis of elements that were immobile during greisenization, especially Si, Ti, Sc and REE. After or even during greisenization, the metasomatic rocks were affected by shearing metamorphism corresponding in its PT conditions to the middle zone of the almandine-amphibolite facies. It was possibly in this period that the enigmatic skarn body of Samaov originated. Owing to its similarity to the dyke skarn of Kraskov, its similar origin could be assumed: the deposition of skarn minerals from circulating fluids, which were perhaps released during greisenization. 相似文献

Zircon and xenotime, from two mineralogically and chemically contrasting granite suites occurring in the Kru?né Hory/Erzgebirge Mts., display extended compositional variability with respect to abundances of Zr, Hf, REE, Y, P, Th, Ca, Al, Fe and As. According to their geochemical signatures, P-rich (S-type) and P-poor (A-type) granites could be distinguished here. Both granite suites display high Ga/Al ratios (>2.6) and according to FeOtot./(FeOtot. + MgO) ratio can be classified as ferrous granites. Consequently, the both ratios cannot be used for discrimination S- and A-type granites. Both minerals are characterized by a variety of complex zircon-xenotime textures. They are usually strong hydrated and enriched in F. Zircon from P-rich granites displays a significant enrichment in P (up 0.24 apfu P), whereas zircon from P-poor granites has lower P and higher Y (up to 0.15 apfu Y). The xenotime-type substitution is the most important mechanism of isomorphic substitution in zircon in both granite suites. Zircon from both granite suites is typically enriched in Hf, especially unaltered zircon from P-rich granites (up to 8.2 wt. % HfO2). However in altered zircons the Hf/Zr ratio is higher in the P-poor granites. The Hf-rich zircon from unaltered P-rich granite crystallised from low temperature granite melt, whereas altered zircons crystallised during post-magmatic hydrothermal alteration (greisenization). Xenotime from P-poor granites displays a considerable enrichment in HREE (up to 40 mol. % HREEPO4) compared to xenotime from P-rich granites (up to 20 mol. % HREEPO4). Xenotime compositions from P-rich granites are influenced by brabantite-type substitution, whereas for xenotime from P-poor granites the huttonite-type substitution is dominant. Unusual enrichments in HREE is significant for xenotime from P-poor granites, especially in Yb (up to 0.17 apfu Yb) and Dy (up to 0.11 apfu). 相似文献

Summary A redetermination of the crystal structure of zeophyllite, idealized Ca13Si10O28F10.6H2O [a=9.377(2), c=36.57(2) Å; Z=3], space group R3 (No. 148) yielded R = 0.033 for 2238 observed single crystal X-ray data (Fo > 3Fo). The atomic coordinates in combination with the anisotropic thermal displacement parameters as well as the internal R-value from merging equivalent intensities gave no evidence for a violation of trigonal symmetry. The structure is characterized by SiO4 tetrahedra combined to open branched vierer single layers in an arrangement normal to the threefold axes. These layers are connected via the Ca(O,F)x polyhedra and hydrogen bridges to a framework with a pronounced cleavage parallel to (00.1). The statistic . occurrence of Si-OH groups in parts of the structure was confirmed by IR-investigations.

Über Zeophyllit aus Radzein, Böhmisches Mittelgebirge: Röntgen- und IR-Untersuchungen
Zusammenfassung Eine Neubestimmung der Kristallstruktur an Zeophyllit, idealisiert Ca13Si{ion10}O28F10· .6H20 [a=9.377(2), c=36.57(2) Å; Z=3], Raumgruppe R3 (No. 148), ergab R = 0.033 für 2238 beobachtete Röntgeneinkristalldaten (Fo > 3Fo).

The Qilian Mountains water conservation forest in Gansu province is an important ecological barrier surrounding the oasis in China’s Hexi Corridor. The water they provide is the basis for the existence and sustainable socioeconomic development of those oases. As a result of unsustainable use of the water conservation forest until the 1980s, the oasis ecosystems of the Hexi region were seriously damaged, and the oasis areas experienced deterioration of their ecological environment. In this paper, Landsat images were used to monitor the temporal and spatial changes in area of water conservation in Qilian Mountains of China’s Gansu province and to assess the effect on water conservation by analyzed relationship between water conservation forest area, climatic data and hydrological data. The results showed that the forest covered 15.1% of the study area in 2007 and has followed different trends during the study period. From 1978 to 1990, the forest area decreased; however, from 1990 to 2007, the forest area increased, with a faster rate of increase from 1990 to 2000, and the rate of increase averaged 2,733.89 ha per year since 1990. The water conservation forest appears to play an important role in flood control, runoff regulation, the prevention of soil erosion, and water conservation; and these benefits increase with an increasing area of forest. 相似文献

Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) is an emplacement of inert material (s) in the subsurface, designed to intercept a contaminated plume, provides a preferential flow path through the reactive media, and transforms the contaminant into environmentally acceptable forms to attain concentration remediation goals at the discharge of the barrier. The phenomena, which help in remediation within PRB, are adsorption/sorption, precipitation, oxidation/reduction and biodegradation. Various materials like zero-valent iron, zero-valent bi-metals, natural zeolites, organic carbon, fly ash, zeolites, limestone, activated alumina, apatites, etc. have been tried by many researchers to remove organic and inorganic contaminants. In USA, Canada, and many European countries commercial full-scale and pilot scale PRBs are successfully working. The design and installation of full scale PRBs needs laboratory treatability and dynamic flow column experiments? The concept of PRB is being applied to treat contaminated surface water in the Katedan industrial area, Hyderabad, India. National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad, India, conducted systematic studies in collaboration with Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI), Norway, to develop PRB technique to decontaminate the surface water pollution due to industrial effluent. A site assessment study in the Katedan Industrial Area, were carried out and water, soil and sediment from the lakes of the area were found to be polluted with high concentrations of heavy metals like As, Pb, Cr, Cd, Ni, etc. Adsorption studies at NGRI with synthetic samples and in-situ industrial effluent using different reactive media for removing contaminants like arsenic, chromium, cadmium, copper, nickel, lead and zinc have been carried out and yielded satisfactory results. The performance of zero-valent iron and limestone is encouraging in removing As, 相似文献

Many rocks mapped as felsic metavolcanics in the eastern part of the Lukavice Group are shown to be altered mafic metavolcanics, similar to those in the Noranda and Flin Flon-Snow Lake mining districts, Canada. The relatively fresh rocks of the Lukavice Group are rhyolite, dacite-andesite, and andesite-basalt of calcalka-line character. Assuming no substantial volume change during alteration, Ti, P, La, Ce, Yb, Lu, Th (partly), Sc and V contents remained unchanged. Altered rocks are enriched in (Fe + Mg), K and Si and depleted in Na, Ca and Zr. Some elements show both increased and decreased contents in altered rocks (Mg, Ba, Sm, eu, Tb and Hf). Although hydrothermal alteration in the Lukavice Group is of large extent, it is of the proximal Kuroko style and not of regional Amulet Rhyolite style. Implications for a large hydrothermal system within a volcanic pile are discussed in relation to the Ordovician Lukavice Group and its mineral deposits and to some other parts of the Bohemian Massif with volcanosedimentary sequences of the same age. 相似文献

The weathering products of the granitic rocks (which are poor in base cations) and their sediments in the Fláje basin, in an environment that is strongly influenced by SO2 and NOx emissions have been studied. High deposition of SO2 and consequent acidification of the environment causes further depletion of base cations, mobilisation of Al and modification of the weathering reactions resulting in changes of the geochemical features of recent sediments. Depletion of the bottom sediments of the Fláje basin in base cations and Al and their enrichment in Si, compared to the fresh stream sediments and eluvium, suggests a mineralogical modification of the weathering product due to prolonged contact with basin water. Depletion of the non-silicate phase of the sediment in base cations which are replaced with Al on the other hand appears to be more effective in eluvium and those sediments which are exposed directly to the effect of acid deposition, i.e. which are not below water level for the major part of the year. The water of the basin appears to be the main factor influencing the composition of the recent sediments of the basin in the acidified catchment. 相似文献

The dental and skeletal fluorosis is highly prevalent in Zhijin, Guizhou, especially at Hualuo Village, Hehua Village and Majiazhuang Village. The contents of fluorine in coal, clay used for coal combustion, mixed fuel of coal and clay, corn, and chili from households of the three villages were determined by the pyrohydrolysis-fluorine ion-selective electrode method. The average contents of fluorine in the above samples respectively are 237 mg/g, 2262 mg/g, 828 mg/g, 1419 mg/g, and 110 mg/g. The clay used for coal combustions is the main fluorine source of endemic fluorosis and the inferior coal and weathered coal are the secondary source of fluorine. During the combustion of mixed fuel of coal and clay, about eighty percent of fluorine was volatilized, approximately two thirds of which was from the clay and the other one third from the coal. The occurrence of fluorine in clay used for coal combustion is closely related to apatite and hornblende. The contents of fluorine in corn and chili, dried by coal-clay mixed fuel are about 1400 and 73 times higher than the permitted level of fluorine in foods according to the Chinese Standard. It is worth paying attention to the high-fluorine indoor surroundings, such as coal, clay, corn, and chili, particularly ash from boiler bottom with the fluorine content of 15738 μg/g. Besides the technologies of fluorine fixation during the combustion, 相似文献

In order to better understand what controls carbonate weathering rates, we report results from the Jura Mountains (East France), an area exclusively composed of carbonate rocks. This region presents an altitude gradient increasing from 250 m to 1300 m. Over the basin, this gradient generates climatic contrasts of 5℃ and a runoff three times higher in altitude. This place offers a good opportunity for understanding the controlling factors of carbonate weathering. Contrary to thermodynamic calculations that predict the highest concentrations at low temperature, we observe that carbonate dissolution is two times higher at low elevation than in the mountains. This observation can only be explained by a variation in soil pCO2. In order to better constrain the observed variation in cation contents (principally Ca and Mg) of rivers, we used the ASPECTS ecological model (Rasse et al., 2001). Based on both hourly climatic data, vegetation type and soil type, ASPECTS may reconstruct pCO2 in soil. 相似文献

Three vertical sections through the Zagrad deposit of Jurassic karst bauxite in central Montenegro have provided knowledge of the vertical distribution of major and some selected trace elements, including rare earth elements (REE). Variations in the mineralogy, particularly those hosting REE, have been studied. This has revealed the presence of authigenic mineral phases such as xenotime, mottramite and monazite (best proved using Raman microprobe analysis) as well as residual phases such as zircon, titanite and monazite. The mobility of the elements during bauxitization processes has been studied to show that the REE minerals ensure progressive concentration of these elements during removal of major elements through weathering. The similarity of normalized REE in the bauxite to the typical Post-Archean Australian Shales (PAAS) and Upper Continental Crust (UCC) profile, and the preserved Eu anomaly, are evidence that the bauxite was not derived from carbonates and represents alteration of shale, marly limestone and volcanogenic or proximal igneous sourced detritus that accumulated in the original karst landform. Mass change during bauxitization, using Ti as “index” element and compared to PAAS composition, revealed almost 100% depletion of Si and weak enrichment in Al. Deeper parts of the deposit with authigenic minerals exhibit very strong enrichment in all REE. The bauxite ores have high ΣREE contents (693.5–6953.4 ppm), especially ΣLREE contents (582.8–4882.9 ppm), while ΣHREE contents (106.6–2070.5 ppm) are much lower. 相似文献

Many developing countries have regions of high demographic density, where untreated residuary waters from different sources are often discharged into rivers, streams and other water bodies. This paper discusses the reducing action of organic matter of anthropic origin on the mercury redox cycle in the Jundiaí River impacted by discharged wastes, and on the Piraí River, a non-impacted water body. The total mercury concentrations in these locations vary from 1.7 to 32?ng?L?1 in the former and from 0.6 to 10.6?ng?L?1 in the latter. Dissolved organic carbon concentrations of up to 68.3 and 6.5?mg?L?1 were observed, confirming the higher impact on the Jundiaí River. It was found that an inverse correlation between the concentration of dissolved organic carbon and total mercury was stronger in the Jundiaí River, given that it receives higher organic loads, suggesting that organic matter exerts a reducing action on mercury, which is released as gas into the atmosphere. This correlation was not observed in the Piraí River, where the organic matter of natural origin is probably not sufficiently labile to act intensely upon the Hg redox cycle, favoring the metal transport. 相似文献

The Dabie Mountains are believed to be a collisional orogenic belt between the Yangtze amd Sino-Koreancontinental plates. It is composed of the foreland fold-thrust zone, the subducting cover and basement of theYangtze continental plate, the coesite- and diamond-bearing ultra-high pressure metamorphic zone and themeta-ophiolitic melange zone in the subducting basement, the fore-arc flysch nappe and the back thrust zoneoccurring respectively on the southern and northern margins of the Sino-Korean continental plate and the in-herited basin with molassic deposits on the northern margin. When the palaeo-Dabie oceanic plate subductednorthward in the Early Palaeozoic, volcanic arc and back arc basin probably formed on the southern margin ofthe Sino-Korean continental plate. The Sm / Nd isotopic dating of the strata and eclogite which were drawn in-to the foreland fold-thrust zone indicates that the intense collision of the two continental plates took place inthe Early Mesozoic. 相似文献

Role of Water in Deformed Omphacite in UHP Eclogite from the Dabie Mountains, Eastern China 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

Omphacite grains from UHP eclogite of the Dabie Mountains in eastern China are elongated and show strong lattice preferred orientations (LPOs). Observations by the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) identified not only structures of plastic deformation occurring as free dislocation, dislocation loops and dislocation walls, but also bubbles of water present in the deformed omphacite. The bubbles attach to the dislocation loops which are often connected to one another via a common bubble. Using infrared spectroscopy (IR), two types of hydrous components are identified as hydroxyl and free-water in the omphacite. An analysis of deformation mechanism of microstructure in omphacite suggests that the mineral deformed plastically under UHP metamorphic conditions by dislocation creep through hydrolitic weakening. 相似文献
