To further understand the gas-curtain generation characteristics during the launching process of the underwater guns, a simulated gas-injector with multiple nozzles is designed and the expansion process of these multiple combustion-gas jets is experimentally captured. Experiment results indicate that, with turbulent mixing between the gas jets and the liquid medium, the gas curtain is generated in the observation chamber. Based on the experiment, a three dimensional unsteady model is established to simulate the expansion process of the multiple jets. Numerical result shows, with the injection of the gas jets, pressure declines in the Taylor cavity along the axial direction at the beginning. During the expansion process, the multiple jets contact and interact with each other, and pressure rises in the mixing area. After merging, backflow vortexes interact and converge, and the vortexes move along the axial direction with the expansion of the combustion gas jets.  相似文献

Tidal jets are a ubiquitous feature of the coastal environment and result from strong tidal streaming off coastal features such as promontories. Around the Isles of Scilly there exist two tidal jets which tend to propagate in a clockwise sense around the island group. Currents in excess of 90 cm s−1 appear necessary for their production and the jets are characterized with a Reynolds number of about 30. It is shown that the jets indicate the direction of the maximum stream and the residual circulation around the islands. With an offshore component to the residual flow, tidal fringes may develop from the jets and such fringes were observed on the northern side of the islands.  相似文献

The frontal structure in the region south of Africa is investigated on the basis of CTD and SADCP measurements along the SR02 hydrophysical section carried by the R/V Akademik Ioffe in December of 2009 from the Cape of Good Hope to 57° S at the Prime Meridian. Eleven jets of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) were revealed along the section. These were six jets of the Subantarctic Current (SAC), three jets of the South Polar Current (SPC), and two jets of the Southern Antarctic Current (SthAC). The jet combining the Weddell Front and the Southern Boundary of the ACC was also revealed. All the jets of the SPC based on the data of direct measurements were joined into a single “superjet.” The others were manifested by the local velocity maxima in the surface layer of the ocean. The subtropical water along the section from the Southern Subtropical Front to the Shelf-Slope Front near the African shore was almost completely represented by the Indian Ocean (Agulhas Retroflection) water modified by mixing with the fresher water of the southeastern periphery of the Subtropical Atlantic.  相似文献

采用激光诱导荧光技术(laser induced fluorescence-LIF)对同向流动环境中具有不同喷口高宽比(aspect ratio-AR)、射流比(velocity ratio-VR)的椭圆喷口射流与圆喷口射流的标量物质浓度场进行可视化和定量化研究。系统研究了同向流动环境中椭圆喷口射流浓度场的各种掺混稀释特性:中心线稀释度,射流扩展宽度,下游不同断面上的时均浓度分布和紊动强度分布。采用紊流理论和量纲分析方法对实验数据进行分析讨论,给出同向流动环境中受动量控制的椭圆射流稀释度预报方法,提出该类椭圆射流稀释度预报方法归并到已有圆射流系列预报模型中的实现途径,比较了具有相同出口超值动量Me0的圆射流与椭圆射流的沿程稀释度变化。由于椭圆射流比圆射流具有更高的稀释度增长比率,说明椭圆射流比圆射流具有更好的掺混稀释效果。  相似文献

Some new results related to the theory of rising convective jets over heat and momentum sources are presented. The consideration is not restricted to free convective or forced jets—mixed situations are also possible. A known model is generalized to the case of a noticeable contribution of the effects of water-vapor buoyancy. It is established that a universal conservation law that is valid for any entrainment hypotheses exists. A simple approximate criterion of the possibility that jets “break” through barrier layers is derived. An analytic solution that describes a moist-adiabatic rise of a jet above the condensation level is found. The influence of jets on the transport of passive admixtures is assessed. A model is proposed for the horizontal spreading of the warm air transported by a jet below an intense barrier layer.  相似文献

The advent of the era of satellite observations of the ocean surface has resulted in a considerable complication of views on the structure of currents in the World Ocean. Up to eight jets came to be distinguished in the zone of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). To identify these jets, it is conventional to use qualitative criteria relating a jet’s position to the isoline of a characteristic (temperature, for instance) on any near-horizantal surface. In the present work, based on data of sections and climatology of the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) program, we examine the temperature patterns of the subsurface waters of the Southern Ocean, which are commonly used for recognition of fronts. The focus is on the southern jets of the ACC in the Eastern Pacific Antarctic. There are two groups of criteria for these jets, which imply that position of the latter is determined from a certain isotherm on the surface of the minimum (maximum) potential temperature of the Winter water (Upper Circumpolar Deep Water). However, the results of our analysis show that, in fact, the WOCE climatology data allow one to formulate temperature criteria only for the second of the above groups and only for individual sectors of the Southern Ocean-specifically, for the study area. These criteria serve as the basis for determining localization of the southern jets of the ACC in the WOCE sections in this ocean’s region. We also show that the temperature increased by about 0.1°C from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s in the layer of maximum temperature of the Upper Circumpolar Deep Water in the zone of southern jets of the ACC.  相似文献

为研究风急流对吕宋海峡处黑潮路径的影响,本文使用1.5层约化重力浅水模式,设置了与吕宋海峡跨度相接近的缺口宽度,考虑西边界流在西边界缺口处当处于迟滞过程的临界状态时,其路径受风急流影响的动力机制,并初步探讨了在实际海陆边界条件下,实际风急流对黑潮路径的影响。结果显示,理想情况下,当西边界流处在由入侵流态到跨隙流态转变的临界状态时,西风、南风以及西南风风急流可以激发西边界流由入侵流态转变为跨隙流态。当西边界流处在由跨隙流态向入侵流态转变的临界状态时,北风、东风以及东北风风急流可以激发西边界流由跨隙流态转变为入侵流态,并且在风急流消失后西边界流不能再恢复到初始流态。实际情况下,冬季风急流有利于黑潮入侵南海,夏季风急流有利于黑潮跨越吕宋海峡,这和理想情况下的模拟结果以及实际观测结果相一致,这对进一步研究南海北部的上层环流以及南海的质量、能量输送有重要意义。  相似文献

We study the energy exchange between jets of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) and synoptic eddies generated by them in the surface layer of the ocean in the Drake Passage and Scotia Sea based on 22-year-long satellite altimetry time series from the French CLS Agency (DT Global–MADT–Upd product, http://www.aviso.altimetry.fr) under the assumption, based on observations, that each of the jets is confined between two fixed contour lines of the absolute dynamic topography of the ocean. We calculate and analyze the 22-year evolution of the kinetic energy of each ACC jet and cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies generated by it. We demonstrate the fundamental dependence of fluctuations in jet energy on the phase of their meander and eddy formation, as well as their back absorption by jets. We calculate the mean and extreme energetic characteristics of jets and eddies and compare the jets in terms of the intensity of the generated eddies.  相似文献

The currents in the central part of the Drake Passage are investigated by analyzing the CTD and SADCP data over the section across the Drake Passage occupied in November 2010 and satellite altimetry data. All eight of the jets of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, which are currently identidifed, were resolved by the section. The velocities and water transports of these jets are estimated. Three synoptic scale eddies with different vertical structures were revealed; hypotheses on the physical nature of these eddies are discussed.  相似文献

本文利用海洋观测资料和全球海洋环流模式数据(Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean, ECCO)研究了赤道印度洋上层海洋盐度的年际变化及其相关的海洋动力过程。研究结果表明,上层海洋盐度年际变化主要受印度洋偶极子事件影响,且盐度变化在正、负印度洋偶极子事件中存在不对称特征,其在偶极子正事件中表现更强烈。进一步研究表明,赤道印度洋上层盐度变化主要受纬向平流输运调控,尤其是Wyrtki急流对盐度变化有重要影响。在正印度洋偶极子事件期间,Wyrkti急流减弱甚至消失,流场负异常的强度明显较负偶极子事件期间的流场正异常强度强。印度洋偶极子存在正偏度是造成盐度和流场在正、负印度洋偶极子事件中存在不对称性的主要原因。  相似文献

We present a case study of low-level wind jets induced in sequence by orographic effects off the Pacific coast of northern Japan during 7–11 June 2003, and demonstrate that the transition of the wind jets causes areal differences of wave height variations along the coast. First, we describe evolution and structure of the wind jet by analyzing SeaWinds scatterometer wind measurements. Under the easterly wind, a strong wind jet formed after passing by Cape Erimo. As the wind shifted to the southeast, the wind jet started to decay. In turn, the southerly wind along the coast led to another wind jet in the lee of the easternmost tip of the Sanriku coast. We then identify onsets and decays of the wind jets from time series of wind speed at meteorological stations. Finally, we demonstrate that the transition of the wind jets has local impacts on wave height variations. Significant wave heights measured by altimeters were correlated positively with local wind energy, i.e., squares of wind speeds. Accompanying the wind jet formation/decline, significant differences of wave height variations became marked among wave observation stations located along the coast at intervals of up to 50 km.  相似文献

The horizontal structure of the jets of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) is analyzed on the basis of CTD- and LADCP- sounding performed during a hydrophysical survey with a 10-mile spatial resolution in the central part of the Drake Passage in October–November of 2008. According to the modern multijet classification of the ACC, the survey area covered the zones of three jets of the South Polar Current (SPC), which is the middle branch of the ACC. The current jets revealed a fine horizontal thermohaline structure, which was manifested even in the case of the confluence of individual jets into a “superjet.”  相似文献

文章基于自制的组合式环形水槽(周长9.7 m、宽0.45 m、深1.0 m),分别以阿曼原油及其消油剂混合物和淡水(含示踪剂)为模拟污染物,开展水下溢油的物理模拟实验,以浮射流输移轨迹、污染物扩散范围和油滴粒径分布为考察指标,研究横流环境和消油剂的使用对水下溢油输移扩散的影响。实验结果表明:在横流环境中,浮射流输移轨迹开始弯曲的高度随着流速的增加而降低;与淡水浮射流主要在水中输移扩散的情况不同,当污染物为原油时,大粒径油滴脱离浮射流主体并上浮至水面,导致扩散范围更大;消油剂的添加会使原油浮射流内部油滴的体积中值粒径变小,油滴粒径分布曲线向小尺寸方向偏移。实验结果可为后续的物理模拟实验和数值模拟研究提供参考。  相似文献

The flow characteristics of tidal jets induced by a Tidal-Jet Generator (TJG) are investigated using a finite-difference numerical scheme, named Navier–Stokes (NS)–Marker and Cell (MAC)-TIDE, based on the fully 3D NS equations. The TJG is an enclosed rectangular breakwater, which has vertical opening and a large enclosed volume inside. During both phases of tide, strong and uni-directional jets can be obtained locally from the inlet of the TJG, due to the water level difference between the inner and outer sides of TJG.The computed results are extensively compared with three other independently developed numerical models; 3D-ADI, DVM, and CIP-CSF. These models are based on quasi-3D, 2D depth-averaged, and fully 3D NS equations, respectively. It is seen that the present fully 3D numerical model NS–MAC-TIDE can predict the maximum intensity of inlet velocity with higher accuracy than the other numerical models when compared with the empirical function proposed from the experiments. The numerical simulations based on NS–MAC-TIDE can reproduce successfully the processes of generation, development, and dissipation of tidal jets. The effects of gap opening on the main characteristics of the tidal jet flow are assessed. Through numerical assessment, it is also clearly demonstrated that the residual time of a pollutant distributed around the front of the TJG can be decreased by significant amount due to the locally induced tidal jet. The TJG can thus utilize tidal energy for water purification in local marine environment by providing a flushing mechanism.  相似文献

本文以Argo轨迹资料计算的赤道太平洋中层流(1 000 m深度流场)作为实测数据,从空间结构特征和时间变化特征两方面对5套常用海洋模式产品(OFES、LICOM、HYCOM、ECCO2和SODA)进行了评估。Argo流场显示赤道太平洋中层流呈条带状结构,且存在明显的西强东弱和南强北弱特征。此外,赤道太平洋中层流存在明显的季节变化且其相位关于赤道对称。5套模式产品的评估结果表明,SODA流场与实测流场最接近,其时空变化特征都与实测流场基本一致;其次是ECCO2流场,除流场动能偏小以外,其他各方面都与实测流场一致;OFES、LICOM和HYCOM流场的模拟效果较差,但都能再现条带状结构特征。  相似文献

Currents and eddies in the Sea of Japan are investigated on the basis of shipboard multiyear averaged hydrologic measurements over 1925–2005 and satellite images over 1988–2002. The schemes of geostrophic currents are constructed and the positions of quasi-stationary eddies on the sea surface are determined. It is shown that eddy formations are concentrated along jets of the main currents. A construction of the scheme of surface currents with consideration for eddies is attempted.  相似文献

The Levantine Basin circulation derived from recent data consists of a series of sub-basin-scale to mesoscale eddies interconnected by jets. The basin-scale circulation is masked by eddy variability that modulates and modifies it on seasonal and interannual time scales. Long-term qualitative changes in the circulation are reflected in the bifurcation pattterns of ther mid-basin jets, relative strengths of eddies and the hydrographic properties at the core of these eddies. Confinement within the Basin geometry strongly influences the co-evolution of the circulation features.Surface measurements, satellite images and the mass field indicate an entire range of scales of dynamical features in the region. The complexity of the circulation is consistent with the basin-wide and mesoscale heterogeneity of the hydrographic properties. The interannual variability of LIW (Levantine Intermediate Water) formation in the region appears correlated with the changes in the circulation. Wintertime convective overturning of water masses reach intermediate depths and constitute a dominant mechanism of LIW formation, especially in anticyclonic eddies and along the coasts of the northern Levantine Basin.  相似文献

Weather in the North Gulf of Alaska is characterized by a high frequency of deep synoptic-scale low-pressure systems, especially during the cold season. The strong pressure gradients of these storms interact with the extremely rugged terrain of the coastal mountains to produce a variety of channeled flows. These surface wind regimes are not well documented in the scientific community, due to the paucity of observations. Modeling of these phenomena in regions of complex terrain is of great interest to those working with hydrodynamic, wave, and pollutant transport models in coastal and shelf areas. Such models, when coupled with ocean and coastal-ecology counterparts, give a broad view of the role surface winds play in shaping local coastal marine ecosystem in this region. This paper presents a climatology of simulated low-level wind jets over the domain of Cook Inlet and Shelikof Strait along Alaska's south-central coast. Daily simulations using the RAMS model were conducted in a 36-h forecast mode for the cold-season period 10/1/03 to 3/31/04. Systematic analysis of the resulting simulated low-level wind field makes it possible to characterize these jets and gap flows in spatial and temporal detail. The comparison between the RAMS winds and the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)-derived winds when available verifies the existence of these wind jets and the capability of the model to simulate these cases. Clearly, the results of a study in this region depend on the fidelity of the model at these scales (O[5 km]). The SAR comparisons attempt to help establish this. From the 6 months of simulations over Cook Inlet and Shelikof Strait, the low-level wind jets are classified into 10 different regimes by location and orientation. These regimes are categorized into four more general groups: cross-channel westerly, easterly, and up and down Inlet flows. The nature of a particular regime is largely a function of pressure gradient orientation and local topography. Jets in the same group have a similar occurrence distribution with time. Some form of jet occurred in the study region almost daily each month of the period, with December 2003 having the highest frequency of wind jets.  相似文献
