This study shows how aerial photographs can be of value in a population census. The census and the enumeration district maps were used initially to obtain population data and the housing stock was derived from the aerial photographs. From these the population densities were determined of a number of sample enumeration districts containing a single type of house. Another set of enumeration districts was selected and the housing stock again derived from the aerial photographs. By considering the type and quantity of housing stock and the population density of each housing type, the population figures were estimated for each enumeration district. The values of these population estimates were then compared with the values recorded in the census. The overall population estimate had an error of only 2%, but the estimates for some of the individual enumeration districts showed greater errors. These errors are assessed and analysed and some suggestions are made to improve the methodology used in this study.  相似文献

Remotely-sensed data products have got unique advantage over conventional data-gathering techniques in the study of urban morphology. The physical parameters like built-up area density, street pattern, population density, urban structure as well as functional characteristics which can be derived from land use/land cover map, are clearly visible on aerial data products. This technique provides synoptic view of the area which makes the study comprehensive and uniform. Sequential aerial photographs and satellite imagery help in studying the growth of urban area and temporal changes in urban structure. These informations are very useful in the planning of city extension. Here an attempt has been made to study the urban morphology of Saharanpur city by using panchromatic aerial photographs on scale 1∶10,000, IRS-1B LISS II geocoded imagery on 1∶50,000 scale and photo-maps on 1∶4000 scale, and the results are very encouraging.  相似文献

Many of the data needs for efficient management of forest resources can be met by aerial photographs. Commercially important tree species can be distinguished from other less important miscellaneous species with the help of aerial photographs. Forests can be classified according to their height and density classes. Aerial photographs have become indispensable for mapping of forests and preparation of forest inventories. A comparison of interpretation results obtained from landsat imagery and aerial photographs (1 ∶ 10,000 Black and White panchromatic photography) with respect to forestry interpretation is given. It is pointed out that the imagery obtained from satellities can be used for reconnaissance of a region and for deciding the priorities for carrying out more detailed surveys of forest resources with the help of air photointerpretation techniques  相似文献

93 black & white panchromatic aerial photographs of 1972 on 1:20,000 scale were used for assessing the site quality of Sal forest of part of West Dehradun Forest Division, by both direct and indirect methods. The forests were stratified into 5 height and 5 density classes and according to species composition. For necessary data for the assessment of growing stock, field measurements were made on 54 sample plots of 0.1 hectare each. This provided direct indication of actual productive capacity of a particular site. According to indirect method, ground vegetation was sampled in 54 quadrats of 5m x 5m each and has been classified into statistically sound vegetation groupings by normal association analysis technique. These groups facilitated the standardisation of their photo perameters. The indicator value of the plants in a grouping was used to assess the suitability of the site. This was substantiated by super-imposing growing stock, present at that site. By combination of the direct and indirect methods, sites have been classified into 3 categories i.e., suitable, conditionally suitable and unsuitable. Suggestions have been made for management of conditionally suitable sites and the cause for unsuitability of sites are explored. Hence, interpretation of qualitative attributes of vegetation alongwith the measurements of quantitative parameters on aerial photographs have proved to be useful for site quality assessment.  相似文献

Soils of part of Ukai‐kakarapar Command area, Gujarat (India) have been mapped at 1:25, 000 scale using aerial photographs of December 1977. It was observed that about 36.3% of the area was affected by soil salinity/alkalinity. The test area has been remapped using Salyut‐7 space photographs taken during Indo‐Soviet joint flight in April, 1984. The area affected by soil salinity/alkalinity was found to be substantially higher (80.3%). The earlier mapping using aerial photographs was done when the soil surface was compartively moist (December 1977) as compared to date of Salyut‐7 photography (April 1984), when the soil surface was likely to be devoid of moisture and the salts moved to the surface. To have easy comparision with the map prepared by using aerial photographs, Landsat TM data of December, 1985 was used in which 45.7% of the total area was mapped as salt affected. The extent of area delineated using Landsat TM was higher than that of 1977 but much lesser than the area delineated using Salyut‐7 (MKF‐6M) photographs. This indicated that the increase in the extent of salt affected area in the map prepared using the MKF‐6M photographs might be partly due to actual increase in the salinity/alkalinity and partly due to the seasonal affects. Among the various bands of MKF‐6M, band ‐4 was found to be the best for delineating the salt affected soils. The boundaries were sharper in the FCC and band No.4 of MKF‐6M than in the aerial photographs.  相似文献

通过分析遥感影像中直角型房屋特点,本文提出一种新的房屋提取方法:利用Freeman编码推导出常见直角型房屋代码,使得每一种形状房屋都具有惟一编号,且编号不随房屋大小、方位及位置改变而改变,利用Hough变换提取房屋角点并剔除伪角点,最后利用模式匹配方法获得各个角点之间的连接关系。实验结果表明该方法具有较强的抗噪性,能有效提取影像中直角型房屋。  相似文献

杂草治理是农地质量保障的关键,杂草的精准识别与定位是杂草治理的重要保障,为提高杂草治理精度与效率,本文提出运用无人机航测技术辅助实现杂草治理工作。本文以广东DX农场为例,运用无人机航测技术进行农场航拍影像采集,运用实例证明无人机航测可以大幅提高数据采集效率和精度,并分别运用视觉判断法、神经网络模型法完成了杂草密度分析,输出杂草密度分布图,说明了无人机航测数据可以辅助实现杂草密度分析。通过对比分析,进一步论证了神经网络模型配合无人机航测技术,可以进一步提高杂草识别效率和精度。  相似文献

Optimal land use map of Kanholi area, part of Nagpur district,Maharashtra have been prepared using Satellite imagery in 1:1000,000 and 1:250,000 and aerial photographs in 1:60,000 scale with adequate ground checks. The Satellite imagery proved valuable information about landscape characteristics, land use, hydrology and other environmental features. The aerial photographs were used to prepare comparatively large scale land resource association maps in scale 1:60,000 on geomorphology, landuse, soil hydrology. Soil irrigability, land irrigability and land capability maps are also attempted after interpreting soils information collected during field studies. The utility of this technique in preparation of optimal land use map with associated limitations due to scale have been discussed in the paper.  相似文献

A comparative case study of forest cover type mapping from 1:10,000 scale black and white panchromatic aerial photographs and by conventional ground methods of Gudem Reserve Forest of Kaghaznagar Forest Division of Andhra Pradesh Forest Department has been made. The study highlights the advantages of mapping from aerial photographs. The study indicates about the cost and time required for forest cover type mapping by aerial photo-interpretation techniques which is about half, and nearly one fourth respectively, of that required by ground methods.  相似文献

Run-off is an important element of the hydrologic studies of any given basin. As such the estimation of the run-off factor of a catchment becomes imperative for determination of the total quantity of its surface run-off. The traditional ground survey methods of hydrologic studies of river basins are gradually getting replaced by more economical and reasonably accurate methods mostly based on aerial photographs. This paper deals with an experiment carried out on the Tons Catchment for determination of its run-off factor with the help of aerial photographs using the photo-interpretation and analysis techniques. The resultant values of the surface runoff have compared very well with the observed flow at Kisau gauging station. This indicates that a suitable methodology can be developed to estimate the discharge of the catchment of Indian rivers, where the run-off data is not available, with reasonable accuracy using the aerial photographs.  相似文献

The use of Landsat images at 1∶1 Million and 1∶250,000 scales and aerial photographs at 1∶60,000 scale for preparation of soil maps has been discussed. It was possible to prepare soil maps at Suborder and its association from the Landsat images as the base and Subgroup and its association map using the aerial photographs as base. A comparison of aerial photointerpreted data around G.B. Pant Sagar (Rihand Reservoir) for pre-dam (1944) and post-dam (1967) periods and satellite imagery of 1988 shows that slope stability of the hills surrounding the reservoir has not been affected adversely as a result of impounding of the reservoir as no landslides are observed in the area in post-dam period. However, significant changes in the landuse of the area surrounding the reservoir are noticed in the post-dam aerial photographs and satellite imagery. Large areas show decrease in vegetation density as a result of deforestation while the areas bordering the reservoir show increase in vegetation density. The area under cultivation has decreased on the western side due to development of a number of coal fields in post-dam period. Improper management of coal ash disposal from a number of thermal power plants located around the reservoir is causing siltation of the reservoir.  相似文献

For assessment of growing stock, the role of aerial photographs mairly consists of volume class stratification, knowing proportion of various stratum and in providing layout for ground sample plots along with their precise location on the the ground. Plain Sal stratum was stratified into three volume classes on the basis of volume stereograms and standard deviation in each stratum estimated on the basis of reconnaissance data. 63 ground plots were needed for ± 5 cum (E = ± 5) accuracy for optimum allocation. Volume in 0.1 hectare circular plots was obtained from measurement of all trees above 10 cm dbh. The mean volume was 124 cum per hectare ± 9.55 cum at 95% probability level. A comparison with Working Plan figures revealed a close similarity. Advantage in time and cost for getting information on growing stock by the use of aerial photographs have been highlighted.  相似文献

本文利用目标提取技术,根据近似点位进行房屋角点的自动定位,自动搜索同名点,然后建立一个尽可能多地包含房顶面的目标窗口,取代传统的以房角为中心的窗口进行房顶角点影像匹配,提高了房顶角点匹配的可靠性,实现了航空影像房屋三维数据的半自动量测。进而在地面与建筑物表面二维半不规则三角网和原始数字影像的基础上,实现了建筑物可见表面纹理的恢复,重建了城市真实三维景观。  相似文献

The paper describes the details of a comparative study of geological interpretations carried out from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery, Landsat MSS (B & W) imagery and Aerial Photographs, covering 2100 sq km of area in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The area comprises Peninsular—Gneissic Complex and rocks of Dharwar and Cuddapah Super Groups beside the Quaternary alluvial deposits along the Penneru river and its tributaries. Geomorphologically the areas is represented by denudational, fluvial and structural landforms. The study indicates that the details of the geological and geomorphological maps prepared from SAR imagery and aerial photographs are comparable despite the smaller scale of SAR imagery while the same are not exhibited in Landsat imagery mainly due to its low resolution. Although broad lithological units are possible to be discriminated on SAR as well as aerial photographs, some of the finer rock types viz. gabbroic dykes could be discriminated from the delerite dykes in the SAR imagery due to their different surface roughness. Stereoscopic coverage and enhanced micro-relief of SAR imagery gives better geomorphological details in comparison to aerial photographs. A detailed study of lineaments has also been carried out which shows that in SAR imagery there is over-representation of short lineaments due to enhanced micro-relief and radarshadow effects across the look direction and under-representation of lineaments along the look direction. Landsat imagery is perhaps the best for demarcating lineaments of regional magnitude while aerial photographs are good for depicting shorter lineaments. However, certain lineaments seen in SAR imagery are often not continuously seen on aerial photographs.  相似文献

The attempt has been made to find out the usefulness of aerial remote sensing in the study of urban fringe where all sorts of haphazard developments take place. Unauthorised construction, illegal sub-division of land, urban sprawl, environmental degradation are all parts of urban fringe Attempt has been made to find out the efficacy of aerial photos at pre-planning stage and their role in assigning various landuses for planned development of urban fringe zone. For the first time, the concept of “Urban Index” has been used to determine the scale of urbanity by aerial remote sensing technique. Growth of settlements, land speculation, impact of anticipated development proposal have been studied. Aerial photographs have been used to detect depressions, drainage pattern, flooding problems, location of high ground water table areas which are very important for a comprehensive planning and for environmental protection. 传统拆迁测绘方法通过外业入户调查测量房屋及附属物边长,内业测算面积,难以在不增加成本的情况下提速增效并满足不断加速推进的城市更新工作。无人机倾斜摄影测量技术作为近年测绘领域兴起的高新技术,可以自动生成实景三维模型,并在此基础上生产大比例尺地形图,采集地物尺寸及结构要素,简化外业测量工作。本文提出了基于倾斜摄影测量技术的旧村拆迁测绘模式,并在北山旧村拆迁项目中验证了该模式的可行性。试验结果表明,地形图、地物尺寸和面积精度符合规范要求,生产效率得到明显提高。  相似文献
