The author reviews the principal problems pertaining to the development of modern cartography raised at a conference on Cartography at the Transition between the 20th and 21st Centuries, held in Moscow in the autumn of 1997. Robust estimation methods have been widely used in Photogrammetry and Geodesy. They have an implicit basic premise that all observations are uncorrelated. However, we have to deal with various types of correlated observations in surveying practice. This paper therefore extends robust estimation methods to the case of correlated observations with the help of bivariate functions. The properties of the solution have been investigated and the proper confidence region problems have been discussed. A simulated example shows the applications of the proposed methods.  相似文献

The authors describe the organization and operation of a reserve or information bank of computer programs (OFAP) of the Main Administration of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGK). Available software includes programs for adjusting horizontal and vertical survey control nets and triangulation grids, calculating datum points, and processing astronomical determinations. The programs are designed and documented within individual GUGK departments, debugged and cataloged by reserve personnel, and copies delivered to user organizations and to a State Reserve of Algorithms and Programs (GosFAP). The contents of a recently published regional atlas for secondary schools in the Latvian SSR are described and critiqued. The atlas, consisting of 63 maps with explanatory text, supplemental diagrams, and photographs, was compiled by the Main Administration of Geodesy and Cartography in cooperation with the Latvian State University and the Latvian SSR Ministry of Education. The Cooperative Network for GIOVE Observation (CONGO) is a global network of real-time capable multi-constellation GNSS receivers, which has been established by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the German Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) as a test bed for experimentation with the new Galileo signals. The CONGO network employs a variety of different antennas and receivers which have become available for public use over the last 2 years. Following an overview of the network and the employed user equipment, the paper discusses the achieved GPS/GIOVE tracking performance. This includes a characterization of antenna gain patterns as well as receiver noise and multipath errors. Special attention is given to the discussion of inter-system biases. The nature and variation of these biases is illustrated based on a set of three different receivers operated in a zero-baseline configuration at the Wettzell site.  相似文献
