The concentrations of noble gas isotopes of He, Ne and Ar have been measured in eight mineral separates of the Bruderheim chondrite. The cosmic-ray-produced nuclides 21Ne and 38Ar were correlated by a computer least-squares fitting program with the elemental composition in each separate of potential targets for nuclear production yielding the following production equations: [21Ne, 10?8 cm3/g] = k(0.45[Mg] + 0.085[Si] + 0.060[S] + 0.017[Ca] + 0.0044[Fe + Ni]); [38Ar, 10?8 cm3/g] = k(2.6[K] + 0.37[Ca] + 0.08[Ti + Cr + Mn] + 0.021[Fe + Ni]) with elemental concentrations in weight per cent and k equal to the reciprocal of the cosmic-ray exposure age of Bruderheim. The P(S)/P(Cr + Mn + Fe + Ni) weight production ratio for 3He was determined to be 1.53; relative productions of 3He from O, Mg and Si and 21Ne from Al proved to be incalculable.  相似文献

A new method of determining the age of native platinum based on alpha-radioactivity of one of its natural isotopes 190Pt is proposed. Due to a special form of occurrence of radiogenic helium in the crystal lattice of native metals as a helium cluster-bubbles, the stability of 190Pt-4He of the isotope system is extremely high in the natural environment. To check the efficiency of the proposed 190Pt-4He method of isotope geochronology, six independent mineral aggregates of native platinum from chromite-bearing dunites of the southern part of platinum-bearing zonal Galmoenan dunite-cllinopyroxenite-gabbro plutonic complex (Koryak-Kamchatka belt, Russia) were analyzed. The age calculated by the tangent of the 190Pt-4He isochrone slope angle equals 69.5 ± 4.9 mln years. The obtained age value coincides with the results of isotope datings, which were made previously by different methods of isotope geochronology.  相似文献

(U-Th)/He定年是一种有效的低温热年代学定年技术,现已被广泛应用于地质研究的各个领域,而矿物中4He同位素的有效提取和含量准确测定是该技术的关键。磷灰石和锆石是(U-Th)/He定年最常用的矿物,其4He提取条件及铀钍含量测定方法都较为成熟;而其他矿物(如磁铁矿、橄榄石、针铁矿、石榴子石等)的研究则相对较少。文章介绍了当前国内外(U-Th)/He研究中采用的4He同位素提取方法———真空炉加热法和激光加热法,激光加热法因具有低4He背景值和耗时短的优点而成为主要的提取方法。以磷灰石样品测试为例,介绍了成都地质矿产研究所建立的采用激光加热法和四极杆质谱提取4He同位素及其含量测量过程、含量计算和校正方法。指出未来(U-Th)/He测试技术除继续改进现有分析方法外,应加强对更多不同矿物的测试研究。  相似文献

六氟化硫法是测量硫同位素组成的新方法。与传统的二氧化硫法相比,六氯化硫法有灵敏度高,准确度高,能同时测定扩δ33S、δ34S和δ36S的优越性。本文介绍了国内第一台同位素分析用的六氟化硫制样装置,并报导了对硫化银、黄铁矿、黄铜矿、陨硫铁、方铅矿和闪锌矿等天然硫化物用六氟化硫法进行硫同位素测定的结果。结果表明,我们的装置和方法达到了国际上现有的水平,并在操作的方便性、可靠性及样品适用范围方面有所改进。  相似文献

对具有不同地质历史背景的3类40Ar/39Ar法样品中的40Ar和39Ar释出特征进行对比,研究结果表明,40Ar/39Ar法样品中的40Ar、39Ar释气曲线主要表现为以下3种形式:完全重合型、过剩氩型和不规则型。当40Ar与39Ar释气曲线呈完全重合型时,40Ar/39Ar法全熔年龄代表了岩体的形成年龄;当40Ar、39Ar释气曲线是过剩氩型时,40Ar/39Ar法全熔年龄则大于岩体的形成年龄;当40Ar与39Ar释气曲线呈不规则型时,表明样品中的放射成固氩(40Ar*)发生了丢失,其全熔年龄一般较岩体的形成年龄小。对于40Ar、39Ar释气曲线呈过剩氩型的样品,40Ar/39Ar法年龄谱通常呈马鞍形,且马鞍形年龄谱的底部年龄一般都具有地质意义,代表了岩体的形成年龄。对于40Ar、39Ar释气曲线呈不规则型的样品,对其年龄谱的解释应持谨慎态度。  相似文献

228Ra, 226Ra, and 222Rn activities were determined on over 150 ground water samples collected from drilled, public water supply wells throughout South Carolina. A wide range of aquifer lithologies were sampled including the crystalline rocks of the Piedmont and sedimentary deposits of the Coastal Plain. A significant linear relationship between log 228Ra and log 226Ra (n = 182, r = 0.83) was indistinguishable between Piedmont and Coastal Plain ground water. Median 228Ra226Ra activity ratios for the Piedmont, 1.2, and Coastal Plain, 1.3, ground water are close to estimated average crustal 232Th238U activity ratios of 1.2 to 1.5 corresponding to Th/U weight ratios of 3.5 to 4.5. A linear correlation was also found between log 222Rn and log 226Ra for Piedmont (n = 68, r = 0.62) and Coastal Plain (n = 89, r = 0.64) ground water. However, the median 222Rn226Ra activity ratio for Piedmont ground water, 6100, was much higher than for Coastal Plain ground water, 230. Higher excess 222Rn activities may be due to greater retention of 226Ra by the chemically active Piedmont aquifers compared to the more inert sand aquifers sampled in the Coastal Plain. The relationship between log 228Ra and log 226Ra was used to predict total Ra (228Ra + 226Ra) distributions in Appalachian and Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain ground water. Predictions estimate that 2.4% of Appalachian and 5.3% of Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain ground water supplies contain total Ra activities in excess of the 5 pCi/l limit established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These predictions also indicate that 40–50% of these ground water wells may be overlooked using the presently suggested screening activity of 3.0 pCi/l of 226Ra for 228Ra analysis.  相似文献

Approximately one thousand drilled wells were investigated for their natural radioactivity. The determinations of 238U, 234U, 226Ra and 222Rn from 310 samples showed a high state of radioactive disequilibrium between the members of the uranium series present in water. The 238U226Ra activity ratio usually fell in the range 1–20 and the 238U222Rn activity ratio in the range 1–20 × 10?4, the highest activity ratios being from samples with an elevated uranium content. The 234U238U activity ratio varied between 0.76 and 4.67, the most frequent values showing a 60% excess of 234U in the samples. Most of the 234U238U activity ratios near unity were found in samples with a high uranium content. Several drilled wells with anomalously high uranium contents were found in southern Finland. The average 226Ra and 222Rn contents of these wells were not exceptionally high, which suggests high mobility of uranium in groundwater from the areas involved.  相似文献

An attempt to date deep-sea igneous rocks reliably was made using the 40Ar/39Ar dating technique. It was determined that the 40Ar/39Ar incremental release technique could not be used to eliminate the effects of excess radiogenic 40Ar in deep-sea basalts. Excess 40Ar is released throughout the extraction temperature range and cannot be distinguished from 40Ar generated by in situ40K decay. The problem of the reduction of K-Ar dates associated with sea water alteration of deep-sea igneous rocks could not be resolved using the 40Ar/39Ar technique. Irradiation induced 39Ar loss and/or redistribution in fine-grained and altered igneous rocks results in age spectra that are artifacts of the experimental procedure and only partly reflect the geologic history of the sample. Therefore, caution must be used in attributing significance to age spectra of fine grained and altered deep-sea igneous rocks. Effects of 39Ar recoil are not important for either medium-grained (or coarser) deep-sea rocks or glasses because only a small fraction of the 39Ar recoils to channels of easy diffusion, such as intergranular boundaries or cracks, during the irradiation.  相似文献

钕同位素比值(~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd)是Sm-Nd同位素方法的关键量值,由于被测样品的~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd比值变化范围很小,所以对~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd比值测试的精准度要求很高(精度优于0.005%)。为了获得高精度和高准确度的测试数据,分析过程中所用Nd同位素标准物质起着重要作用。以往的Nd同位素标准物质都是氧化钕,经过近三十年有的已消耗殆尽。本文阐述了钕同位素比值~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd标准溶液的研制,经检验标准溶液的均匀性和稳定性良好,由11家实验室协同定值,采用MC-TIMS和MC-ICP-MS方法测定~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd,确定了Nd同位素标准溶液的特性值~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd=0.512438,不确定度为5×10-6。此标准溶液于2015年5月获得国家标准样品证书(批号为GSB 04-3258—2015),可被用于地质、资源、海洋、环境、考古等多种样品~(143)Nd/~(144)Nd比值测定时的仪器校准和分析过程的质量监控。  相似文献

A model of 4He accumulation in a confined aquifer is presented which includes in situ production and a crustal degassing flux of 4He into the bottom of a confined aquifer. The model is consistent with the measurements of 4He concentration in the Great Artesian Basin, Australia (Torgersen and Clarke, 1985) and also with the measurements of 4He concentration in the Auob Sandstone of Namibia (Heaton, 1981). The measured value of the crustal degassing flux of 4He from these two areas is comparable with the 4He degassing flux calculated from the atmospheric budget of 4He (Wasserburget al., 1963; Ozima and Podosek, 1983). A literature review suggests that a crustal degassing 4He source may account for the 4He accumulation in many other groundwater systems. It is concluded from the literature review, the detailed modelling of 4He accumulation in GAB and the Auob Sandstone, and the atmospheric budget that crustal degassing of 4He may be a common and widespread phenomena.  相似文献

87Sr86Sr measurements of 108 sedimentary carbonate rocks have been used to trace variations in the strontium isotopic composition of seawater during the Phanerozoic. The lowest 87Sr/86Sr observed for any suite of carbonates is taken as the best approximation to the value in well-mixed contemporary seawater. Our data support the existence of low 87Sr86Sr in the Cretaceous and Late Jurassic but they do not support further structure beyond a general trend through the Phanerozoic, which may correlate with the continental denudation rate.  相似文献

The Memphis aquifer in southwestern Tennessee is a confined to semi-confined unconsolidated sand aquifer and is the primary municipal water source for the Memphis metropolitan area. Leakage of modern water from shallow unconfined aquifers through the upper Claiborne confining unit locally degrades water quality in the Memphis aquifer and makes the aquifer more vulnerable to contamination. Major solute chemistry, tritium, and 3H/3He data were used to investigate the source and mixing proportions of modern water in the Memphis aquifer in the Davis well field, Memphis, Tennessee. Water quality in several production wells in the Davis well field has declined over the past 30 years, mainly through increased total dissolved solids, iron, alkalinity, and hardness. Trends in chemical data, tritium, and other hydrogeologic data support a source for the leakage from the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial aquifer. Mixing proportions of alluvial water in production well water obtained by inverse chemical modeling with PHREEQCi range from 7 to 45%. For two of the production wells, MLGW 414 and 432, 3H/3He data yield mixing ratios similar to those obtained from PHREEQCi in three of four cases; the dissimilar ratio is likely due to a poor solution from the PHREEQCi inverse modeling. Modeling of the age distribution obtained from MLGW 414 and 432 using an exponential-piston flow model (EPM) with an inverse solution computer code yielded mixed results. The EPM solution obtained for MLGW 414 converged with difficulty only for a 5-year transit time in the shallow aquifer and is consistent with a source from the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial aquifer; however, the modeled age of the water is greater than that observed. In comparison, the EPM solution for MLGW 432 converged for the 5- and 7-year transit periods in the shallow aquifer and yielded model ages consistent with observed 3H/3He ages; however, the extent of the maximum radii for infiltration source is not consistent with a Mississippi River Valley Alluvial aquifer source. Other potential sources for leakage to MLGW 432 include water from the Fluvial-terrace aquifer migrating along a fault east of the well field or infiltration of water from a lake south of the well field.  相似文献

13C and 1H NMR spectra were obtained for humic acids isolated from marine sediments. NMR shows great promise in identifying structural components of humic acids as some new and interesting structural features are identified. Aliphatic structures were found to constitute a much larger fraction of humic acids than previously thought, and they appeared to be highly branched. Although the aromatic content of terrestrial humic acid was found to be lower than expected, the aromaticity appears to be a specific discriminator of terrestrial/aquatic source types. A humic acid isolated from an anoxic algal sapropel was found to be composed predominantly of polyuronic acids and different than other aquatic sedimentary humic substances.  相似文献

同位素地质年代学的各种定年方法都有其特定的测定对象(矿物或全岩)和适用范围,致使许多金属矿床难以进行年龄测定.为解决此难题,建立了流体包裹体40Ar/39Ar定年方法,经过30年的探索发展和不断改进完善,已广泛应用于热液矿床、变质岩和石英脉的形成年龄测定,甚至成功应用于松辽盆地深层天然气成藏年龄研究.在详细介绍流体包裹体提取技术和气体纯化技术的基础上,着重总结我们团队运用流体包裹体40Ar/39Ar定年技术在热液矿床和天然气藏形成年龄研究方面取得的重要成果,以及气体混合线的概念及其年龄意义.   相似文献

年轻火山岩定年对人类的起源与进化、地质年表建立、古环境演化、火山灾害、岩浆演化及地球动力学等研究非常重要。由于年轻样品放射性成因子体积累较少、大气氩含量高,微量的过剩氩极难识别,使得年轻火山岩及其沉积地层高精度定年一直是地质年代学中最具挑战性的课题之一。过去几年,年轻火山岩定年在技术上的进展主要体现在定年精度和准确度不断提升,尤其是利用新型多接收稀有气体质谱对单颗粒样品进行逐步升温~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar定年,是方法学上最重要的进展之一。本文总结了年轻火山岩~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar定年的现状、影响因素和相关定年技术及应用,以引起大家的关注和思考,共同提高我国年轻火山岩定年的技术水平。利用新型多接收质谱和创新的实验方法,通过对全球重要火山喷发事件和年轻国际标准样的研究,广泛开展实验室间的对比是提高国内~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar年代学水平并在年轻火山岩定年中取得突破的重要途径,也是当前~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar年代学研究的重要方向。  相似文献

新生代以来,雷琼地区多次、大量地喷发了一系列火山岩。前人主要基于K-Ar法对此划分了期次。本文采用激光40Ar/39Ar年代学方法,对琼北火山岩区进行了精细定年研究。低本底激光40Ar/39Ar法能够对低钾含量,极少量样品(毫克级)进行精细测定,非常适合极年轻火山岩的定年工作。结果显示的火山岩激光40Ar/39Ar法高质量数据表明琼北火山喷发活动时限跨越1.3~0.052Ma。在比较了表观年龄与等时线年龄差异之后,本文给出了年龄推荐值。正如测试数据所显示,本地区新生代火山岩普遍存在40Ar和36Ar过剩的问题,此时只有等时线年龄才代表喷发的真实年龄。  相似文献
