This paper presents the theoretical background of an elastic electro-osmosis consolidation model for saturated soils experiencing large strains, which considers volumetric strains induced by changes in both the hydraulic and electric driven pore water flows. Three fully coupled governing equations, considering the soil mechanical behaviour, pore water transport and electrical field, and their numerical implementation within an updated Lagrangian finite element formulation, are presented. The proposed model is first verified against a classical one-dimensional analytical solution for electro-osmosis consolidation to demonstrate its accuracy and efficiency. Then, various numerical examples are investigated to study the deformation characteristics and time dependent evolution of excess pore pressure. Finally, the importance of considering large strains in a consistent and proper way is demonstrated, and differences compared to models based on small strain theory are highlighted. 相似文献

finite difference code FLAC. Two different initial stress ( K
0) conditions were considered. The size and shape of the initial bounding surfaces were specified to be consistent with the
initial stress field. The distorted and rotated shape of the bounding surface, supported by experimental results, defines
the anisotropy of shear strength, which is shown to have a significant influence on the displacements. There is also considerable

A model of chemo-osmotic consolidation of clays in multi-dimensional domains is presented, with volumetric strains induced by both changes in the chemistry and osmotically driven pore water flow considered. Three fully coupled governing equations considering force equilibrium, pore water transport and chemical transport are presented and solved using the transient finite element method. The proposed approach is verified via consideration of chemo-osmotic consolidation of a compacted clay landfill liner and then applied to investigation of a hypothetical case with a local leachate leak in the compacted clay liner. An assessment of the impact of the two-dimensional nature of the system is made. The consolidation process is found to be dominated by osmotic consolidation in the early stages and subsequently by chemical consolidation. It is found that the surface settlement and the leachate concentration in the compacted clay liner may be highly overestimated by a one-dimensional analysis. Moreover, the peak negative excess pore pressure predicted by the two-dimensional solution remains in a shallow region under the leak while in the one-dimensional solution it moves progressively downwards. 相似文献

根据土力学固结理论计算分析软黏土层固结过程的超静孔隙水压力值,确定软黏土体固结过程的强度增长,对排水固结法处理软土地基至关重要。软黏土层固结过程中土体变形较大时,有限应变固结理论和小应变固结理论计算分析软黏土固结所得结果差异较大。利用非线性有限元法及程序,通过对软黏土层固结工程算例的计算结果分析,研究了有限应变固结理论和小应变固结理论计算分析软黏土层一维固结超静孔压值消散的差异;探讨了软黏土体一维固结过程中,几何非线性、土体渗透性变化和压缩性变化对超静孔隙水压力消散的影响。研究结果表明,当土体的变形较大时,有限应变固结理论计算出的超静孔压要比小应变固结理论得到的值消散的更快。考虑土体固结过程中渗透性的变化时,超静孔压消散变慢;可用软黏土渗透性变化指数ck 反映渗透性变化对超静孔压消散的影响,渗透性变化指数ck值越小、超静孔压消散越慢。固结过程中软黏土压缩性的大小及变化也影响超静孔压的消散,可用软黏土的压缩指数cc反映固结过程中压缩性的大小及变化对超静孔压消散的影响,软黏土的压缩指数cc越小,固结过程软黏土层中的超静孔压消散越快。 相似文献

Natural clays usually show anisotropic stiffness due to their deposition process and anisotropic in situ stress state. The stiffness anisotropy depends on both of the stress anisotropy and fabric anisotropy, while the latter can be quantified by the stiffness anisotropy at isotropic stress states. This paper measures the K0 value (i.e., stress anisotropy) and elastic shear stiffness anisotropy of natural Shanghai clay in a triaxial apparatus with horizontal and vertical bender elements. The results show that the K0 value of Shanghai clay lies in the range of 0.40–0.66, and an empirical equation is proposed to estimate the K0 value based on the plasticity index and initial void ratio. The fabric anisotropy of natural Shanghai clay lies in the range of 1.2–1.4 with a stronger fabric in the horizontal plane. Moreover, the experimental data of the stiffness anisotropy and fabric anisotropy of different clays in the literature are reviewed and analyzed. It reveals that the stiffness anisotropy generally increases, while the fabric anisotropy remains nearly the same during K0 consolidation. For normally consolidated clay, the fabric anisotropy generally lies in the range of 1.1–1.7. For overconsolidated clays, the fabric anisotropy generally increases as the overconsolidation ratio increases. Empirical equations are proposed to approximately estimate the fabric anisotropy of clays based on its stress normalized elastic shear stiffness. 相似文献

为研究上海浅部黏土的渗透系数及其各向异性,沿水平及竖直方向对上海浅部主要黏土层进行了不同压力下的固结试验,联合使用时间平方根法和时间对数法获取了试样的渗透系数,探讨了渗透系数与孔隙比及渗流方向之间的关系,并通过电镜扫描,从微观角度分析了水平和竖直方向渗透系数存在差异的原因。研究结果表明:上海浅部主要黏土层的渗透系数均随着孔隙比的增加而增大。对于单组试验来说,渗透系数k与孔隙比e在e lgk坐标系中呈现很好的线性关系,且渗透变化指数Ck大致呈现Ck = 0.5e0的规律;但对于整体试验而言,渗透系数与孔隙比在e lgk坐标系中大致呈现出曲线关系。通过扫描电镜观察,揭示了沉积形成的絮状微观结构是竖直和水平渗透系数差异较小的主要原因。 相似文献

Deep clays exhibit a pronounced strain anisotropy both during mechanical loading as well as during heating and cooling at constant stress in drained isotropic conditions. During mechanical loading vertical strain is larger than the horizontal one. During heating the vertical strain is larger than the horizontal one within the elastic range; the opposite is observed in the elasto-plastic range. This paper presents a study on osmotic suction of compacted highly plastic clays. Two different types of bentonite (i.e. Calcigel
and a bentonite from India called herein as Indian bentonite) were used. Squeezing technique was utilized to obtain soil pore-water
of the specimen. Using relationship between electric conductivity and osmotic pressure of salt solution, osmotic suction of
soil pore-water was obtained. Additional tests (i.e. total and matric suction using filter paper method and swelling pressure
using constant volume swelling pressure test) were performed. The results show that osmotic pressure of soil pore-water obtained
decreases by increasing squeezing pressure. Based on experimental result, osmotic suction of the specimen is osmotic pressure
of the first drop of extracted soil pore-water. An empirical method was suggested to determine the squeezing pressure in squeezing
technique. In addition, roles of osmotic suction in thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of highly plastic clays were presented

现有次固结计算方法没有考虑土结构性的影响,但自然沉积土大都具有结构性。海相软土一维次固结试验研究表明,对于结构性土,次固结不仅在超固结状态时与荷载有关,且在土体结构破坏的过程中也与荷载有关。当固结压力小于先期固结压力时,次固结系数随压力增长较快;当固结压力大于先期固结压力且小于结构完全屈服压力时,次固结系数随固结压力增长缓慢;当固结压力大于结构完全屈服压力时,次固结系数不随固结压力变化。次固结系数变化与否的荷载分界点不是先期固结压力,而是结构完全屈服压力。对于海相结构软土,其次固结系数变化在超固结、结构破坏、正常固结3个阶段随荷载变化的规律不同。最后,提出了考虑土结构性的一维次压缩计算方法。 相似文献

Electrical (resistivity) anisotropy is found to vary directly and closely as thermaland hydrodynamic anisotropy in clays. This effect is strongest in clays deposited where hydrodynamic forces are strong, i.e., in shallow water. This is the environment of deposition for arenites, however. Therefore, anisotropy in clays may indicate the presence of oil or gas reservoirs. The behavior of the parameter depends, in the main, upon data obtained by the long lateral sonde. —M. E. This paper presents a semi-analytical solution to one-dimensional consolidation of viscoelastic unsaturated soils with a finite thickness under oedometric conditions and subjected to a sudden loading. The solution is obtained by using Lee’s correspondence principle based on the semi-analytical solution to one-dimensional consolidation of elastic unsaturated soils. The boundary contains the top surface permeable to water and air and the bottom impermeable to water and air. A typical example is given to show the evolution of excess pore-air and pore-water pressures as well as the total degree of consolidation of the soil layer with time for different ratios of air–water permeability coefficient, elastic modulus and viscoelastic coefficient. The one-dimensional consolidation behavior of viscoelastic unsaturated soil is discussed according to the semi-analytical solution. These results contribute to a better understanding of the consolidation behavior of viscoelastic unsaturated soils. 相似文献

A finite element formulation developed by Belytschko and his coworkers [1] is used to examine localized deformation as it exists for laboratory specimens of compressible Chicago clays. The element is based on an assumed strain formulation wherein localized and non-localized zones are embedded into an element when material based bifurcation is detected. A plane strain compression test of a natural clay specimen in which deformations localized into a single shear band during undrained shear is simulated using this element. Localization is initiated by imposing a non-uniform applied displacement consistent with that measured experimentally. Results indicate that to insure localization to a single band, considerations must be made for non-uniformities developed during the consolidation phase. 相似文献

不同地区地基饱和粘土的固结过程受到当地区域性温度的影响而不同。通过探究区域性温度因素在饱和粘土固结过程中的主要影响因子,基于太沙基一维渗流固结理论,得出了区域性温度因素对饱和粘土的固结度及固结时间的影响规律。结果显示:对固结度的影响,同一时间因数时,温度较高的地区比温度较低的地区土层平均固结度大,且时间因数在(0.3,0.5)范围内达到最大固结度差值;对固结时间的影响,较高温度地区的土层固结速度比较低温度地区大。土层平均固结度较小时,不同地区的固结时间相差不大,平均固结度较大时,则固结时间差别较为显著。研究成果对工程实践具有指导意义。 相似文献

A numerical solution, using the finite difference method, and based on a porothermo-elasto-plastic formulation for dual-porosity one-dimensional consolidation has been presented. The model is fully coupled to ensure the interactive behavior of fluid flow, heat flow and solid deformations in the conservation of momentum, mass and energy equations. A bi-linear stress-strain relationship is used to accommodate elastoplastic deformation behavior. A double effective stress law, proposed by Elsworth and Bai (1992), is applied to describe constitutive relationships among the stresses, pressures and temperatures. In order to examine the dual-porosity and thermal effects on the soil consolidation individually, isothermal and non-isothermal consolidations for a dual-porosity column are analyzed. In comparison to the single porosity approach, the present study shows that the pore pressure dissipation is faster and Mandel's effect (Mandel, 1953) is more pronounced at early times of the source disturbance for dual-porosity consolidation. One of the significant parameters affecting the dual-porosity consolidation is the fracture spacing (fracture density); the smaller the fracture spacing, the faster the column drainage. 相似文献

以大量试验结果为依据,运用物理意义明确、获取简便快捷、经济实用的土电阻率结构指标进行软黏土扰动变量的表征和测定。以三轴试验与电阻率测试结果为基础,进行了扰动函数的构建。在软黏土扰动状态描述中,引入旋转硬化因子,用以考虑应力诱发各向异性,进而构建了考虑各向异性的软黏土扰动状态概念本构模型。模型从一定程度上克服了传统扰动变量获取方法的弊端,克服了传统借用数学演绎手段建立扰动函数的不足,提高了模型应用的适用性。在模型构建中,融入初始应力各向异性的影响,从而使模型能更好地反映软土实际工程情况。三轴排水剪切试验验证结果表明,该模型可较好反映软黏土受荷下的结构变化情况和受力特性。 相似文献

软土具有黏滞性,对其固结和变形会产生一定程度的影响。采用现有基于广义Voigt流变模型的单层黏弹性地基一维固结问题求解方法,获得各土层的孔压通解表达式。根据两层土体接触面处孔压和流量连续条件及边界条件,给出了系统的正交关系,进而确定通解中待定系数。广义Voigt模型反映了土体应力应变关系在不同时期的特征,因此该解有广泛的适用性。采用岩土工程中应用较广的Merchant流变模型对一工程算例进行了分析。分析结果表明,土体的黏滞性降低了土体的固结速度,且深度越深,影响幅度越大。 相似文献

The compression and consolidation anisotropy of 11 soft soils were studied by conducting oedometer tests on sets of duplicate
undisturbed specimens prepared in the vertical and horizontal directions from adjacent sections of carefully sampled borehole
cores. The one-dimensional compression, yield and creep characteristics of the various silts, clays and amorphous peaty material
tested were similar for the vertical and horizontal directions. The exception was the structured, coarse fibrous peaty material
which was strongly cross-anisotropic. Drainage occurred more rapidly in the horizontal direction with horizontal-to-vertical
