Soil particle size distribution and infiltration of water into the soil were measured in transects radiating from drinking troughs in the Kruger National Park. Soil particle size distribution remained relatively constant along the transects, making it unlikely that any gradients in the infiltration rate were the result of variation in the soil particle size distribution. Concentration of large herbivores around the troughs was indeed causing a negative impact on the infiltration rate of the soils, with implications for the rate of soil loss and the soil moisture regime.  相似文献

Kongsbreen, a tide-water glacier located in Kongsfjorden, is the most active calving glacier in Svalbard. Three SPOT images are used to determine its flow speed and calving rate. The position of fourteen reference points was determined on the coast or mountain sides, and the changes in position of 144 characteristic features on the glacier surface were calculated. The obtained speed profiles arc consistent with the findings from previous works from 1962-64 and 1983-86. When comparing the obtained longitudinal profile to the data from 1962–64. it is found that the flow velocity at a given distance from the front has been nearly constant.
The results from the SPOT images analysis are completed by using existing topographic works. The present study shows that SPOT images (panchromatic as well as multichannel), recorded with a periodicity of one year, can be used to determine precisely the annual flow speed and calving rate of active glaciers such as Kongsbreen. Images recorded with a periodicity of two, three or four weeks can allow identical determination on tide-water glaciers during a surging active phase.  相似文献

A simple explicit formula for the transport rate of windblown sand is derived based on physical reasoning. The curve relating the dimensionless transport rate to the dimensionless friction speed exhibits the empirically well-established peak. In fact, the theory developed in the paper can explain the peaked shape of this curve. Three empirically determined coefficients in the formula can be given a physical interpretation. The formula is shown to fit transport rates measured in wind-tunnel experiments well, except for very coarse sand. Formulae for the wind profile in the saltation layer and for the grain dislodgement rate in dependence on the friction speed are obtained as part of the theory.  相似文献

This paper studied the fertilizer rate(FR), fertilizer use efficiency(FUE) and fertilizer overuse rate(FOR) of rice, corn and wheat in China from 1998 to 2018 and briefly analysed the reasons why farmers were willing to apply more fertilizers.(1) The FR of grain in China reached 373.7 kg/ha in 2018, an increase of 26.8% compared to that in 1998. In 2018, the FR for corn was the highest, at 411.2 kg/ha, compared to the values of 338.3 kg/ha for rice and 371.7 kg/ha for wheat.(2) In recent years, the FUE of grain in China has obviously improved, with values of 32.9% in 1998, 36.7% in 2008, and 39.3% in 2018. In 2018, the FUE for rice was the highest(41.2%), followed by that for corn(39.9%), and the FUE for wheat was the lowest(36.0%).(3) By 2018, fertilizer was overused in all zones of rice, corn and wheat. In 2018, the average FOR for wheat reached 69.0%, which was 35.9% higher than that for corn and 42.8% higher than that for rice.(4) The lower price of chemical fertilizers was the main reason leading to overapplication.(5) Establishing market mechanisms and adjusting regional planting structures can be effective in reducing the application of chemical fertilizers.  相似文献

受到水库拦蓄、抽水灌溉等人类活动的影响,白洋淀流域平原区河流断流,非承压含水层逐渐被疏干。下游的白洋淀无法得到河流和地下水的补给,时刻面临干涸。鉴于白洋淀对区域生态环境和气候有重要的影响,多次实施调水补淀工程。然而,白洋淀渗漏严重,调水补淀的效果不理想。为了保护白洋淀,亟需恢复地下水的可持续性,这首先需要查明地下水的更新能力。2009年,对白洋淀流域平原区地下水进行实地调查,并采集采集地表水和地下水水样共36个,分析其氚含量。利用线性插值法、吴秉钧法和连炎清法恢复了该地区降水氚含量的历史数据,结合数学物理模型估算了非承压地下水的更新能力。结果表明,氚含量较高的白洋淀水渗漏使得周边地下水氚含量增高。总体上,沿山区到淀区的方向非承压地下水更新速率逐渐由15.0%/a降低至4.0%/a。山前平原冲洪积扇区域是非承压地下水的主要补给区,平均更新速率达9.8%/a。冲积平原区域非承压地下水的平均更新速率仅为4.4%/a。为此,需要限制在冲积平原区域开采非承压地下水,以逐步恢复其更新速率,使其重新补给白洋淀。地下水的恢复过程可能较慢,但可从根本上解决调水补淀无法解决的干淀问题。  相似文献

The accuracy of three methods used to estimate the whole-lake accumulation rate of chemicals in sediment, the simple mean accumulation rate, regression against water depth and the mean accumulation rate in sedimentation zones, was assessed. The concentrations and accumulation rates of organic carbon, four major cations, phosphorus and four heavy metals in the 1902 to 1988 sediment layer at 43 sites in Kassjön were used and the three methods gave identical results. The accuracy of the simple mean accumulation rate method using 5 or 10 sites was investigated using Monte Carlo simulation and both versions gave accurate results. If the method used the dry sediment accumulation rate at 5 or 10 sites, along with chemical concentration at one central site, then the errors were less than ±10% for five of the chemicals and larger for the others (?20 or 20–40%), although the direction of the bias was predictable. If chemical accumulation rate at the central site only was used to estimate the whole-lake value, the bias increased to 25% for the major cations, 50% for the heavy metals and P, and 85% for organic carbon. Having 43 sites in Kassjön meant that the true whole-lake chemical accumulation rate was known and so the accuracy of the methods and their variants could be assessed for the first time. These findings allow the particulars of the simple mean accumulation rate method to be chosen to suit the accuracy needed for a palaeolimnological investigation.  相似文献

基于风洞试验对青藏铁路沿线不同类型防沙措施防沙效果进行模拟研究,探讨了不同类型挡沙墙的防沙效果。结果表明:挂板式、轨枕式和箱式挡沙墙输沙率随高度基本呈递增缓变型趋势,最大输沙率低于20%;铃铛式和高立式聚乙烯(PE)网挡沙墙随高度呈递减陡降型趋势,距地表6~8 cm处为转折点,转折点以上输沙率随高度增大急剧减小,转折点以下输沙率随高度变化较为平缓,最大输沙率低于50%。随着风速的增大,各挡沙墙的阻沙率呈递减趋势:挂板式和轨枕式挡沙墙对风速的敏感性最弱,整体阻沙效果较优,可大范围推广;箱式挡沙墙对风速的敏感性较弱,建议在风速18 m·s-1以下的地区使用;PE网挡沙墙防沙效果对风速的敏感性最强,建议在风速10 m·s-1以下的地区使用。  相似文献

选择位于新疆孔雀河北岸的LX01湖相沉积剖面作为研究对象,根据14个ESR年代结果,建立了塔里木盆地东部中更新世湖泊沉积地层的年代序列。此外,采用ESR测年法得到了剖面的沉积速率,在727~93 ka BP期间,研究区域平均沉积速率介于0.429~3.895 cm·ka-1,表现为沉积速率不稳定,发生了较大变化,不但有长期缓慢的变化,还有短期的急剧变化,总体呈现波动特征。具体表现为:727~278 ka BP期间,波动幅度逐渐增大;278~93 ka BP期间,沉积速率阶段性降低。在此基础上,通过对比分析罗布泊地区中更新统沉积速率和罗布泊及周边区域中更新世期间的气候变化,发现位于孔雀河北岸LX01剖面沉积物的沉积速率可在一定程度上揭示罗布泊地区中更新世期间的古气候变化特征,表现为:沉积速率速率高的278~200 ka BP、306~325 ka BP、389~410 ka BP、530~568 ka BP、638~679 ka BP为温暖湿润气候;沉积速率低的93~200 ka BP、278~306 ka BP、325~389 ka BP、410~530 ka BP、568~638 ka BP、679~727 ka BP为冷干气候。该研究为中更新世地层沉积速率的空间分布特征和古气候变化研究提供科学依据。  相似文献

Despite the increasing depletion of the groundwater at the Zhangjiakou aquifer system in the northwest of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, little information is available on the hydrological process of groundwater in this region. In this study, we utilized water isotopes composition(δ~(18) O, δD and ~3 H) of groundwater, river and precipitation to identify the characteristics of hydrochemistry, groundwater age and recharge rates in different watersheds of the Zhangjiakou area. Results showed that the river water and groundwater could be characterized as HCO_3-Mg·Na, HCO_3·Cl-Na and HCO_3-Mg·Na, HCO_3·Cl-Na, HCO_3·Cl-Na·Mg types, respectively. The δD and δ~(18) O values in precipitation were linearly correlated, which is similar to the Global Meteorological Water Line(GMWL). Furthermore, the decreasing values of the δD and δ~(18) O from precipitation to surface water and groundwater indicate that groundwater is mainly recharged by atmospheric precipitation. In addition, the variation of 3 H concentration with depth suggests that groundwater shallower than around 100 m is generally modern water. In contrast, groundwater deeper around 100 m is a mixture of modern and old waters, which has longer residence times. Groundwater showed a relatively low tritium concentration in the confined aquifers, indicating the groundwater recharged might be relatively old groundwater of over 60 years. The flow velocity of the groundwater in the study area varied from 1.10 to 2.26 m/a, and the recharge rates ranged from 0.034 to 0.203 m/a. The obtained findings provide important insights into understanding the groundwater recharge sources and hydrochemistry in the Zhangjiakou area, in turn developing a sustainable groundwater management plan.  相似文献

The rate of recession of Niagara Falls (Horseshoe and American Falls) in northeastern North America has been documented since the 19th century; it shows a decreasing trend from ca. 1 m y− 1 a century ago to ca. 0.1 m y− 1 at present. Reduction of the flow volume in the Niagara River due to diversion into bypassing hydroelectric schemes has often been taken to be the factor responsible, but other factors such as changes in the waterfall shape could play a role and call for a quantitative study. Here, we examine the effect of physical factors on the historically varying recession rates of Niagara Falls, using an empirical equation which has previously been proposed based on a non-dimensional multiparametric model which incorporates flow volume, waterfall shape and bedrock strength. The changes in recession rates of Niagara Falls in the last century are successfully modeled by this empirical equation; these changes are caused by variations in flow volume and lip length. This result supports the validity of the empirical equation for waterfalls in rivers carrying little transported sediment. Our analysis also suggests that the decrease in the recession rate of Horseshoe Falls is related to both artificial reduction in river discharge and natural increase in waterfall lip length, whereas that of American Falls is solely due to the reduction in flow volume.  相似文献

Sequential aerial photography, sonar bathymetry, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and sediment sampling and analysis provide the basis for calculating the volumetric and mass rate of progradation of the delta of Fitzsimmons Creek, a steep, high-energy, debris-flow-dominated channel draining about 100 km2 of the southern Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Fitzsimmons Creek is typical of small mountain rivers in the region. GPR imaging is used to define the pre-depositional morphology of the receiving basin, a technique that improves the accuracy of the volumetric survey. The 52-year record (1947–1999) of progradation yielded an average annual volumetric transport rate of 1.00±0.16×104 m3 year−1 for bed load, corresponding to a mass transport rate of 1.60±0.28×104 Mg year−1. Bed load yields are consistent with those obtained in hydrogeomorphically similar basins in the region and elsewhere. Decade-based annual rates, which vary from 0.64±0.11×104 to 2.85±0.38×104 Mg year−1, provide poor estimates of the 52-year average. Indeed, the 52-year record may also not be long enough to fully integrate the significant fluctuations in the sediment efflux from Fitzsimmons Creek. The methodology proposed in this paper can be transferred to other comparable mountain environments worldwide.  相似文献

婚姻是人口再生产必要的社会关系,维系着社会的安定和谐,而离婚的空间特征是社会地理学关注的重要问题,本文以2005-2014年间中国大陆31个省(市、区)离婚率变化为数据源,结合传统数理分析和空间计量分析方法探究其空间依赖性与空间异质性特征。结果表明:①2005-2014年间地区间离婚差异不断缩小,离婚水平空间分布呈现出北高南低的分异态势;②地区间离婚显著的空间溢出效应是由地理邻近和网络社会空间共同作用的结果,而地区间离婚现象的高低分异与特定地理的社会经济及文化等因素有关;③城市化水平、经济发展水平、受教育程度、互联网普及率的提高及家庭规模的增加对离婚起到显著的影响;失业率的增加及城乡收入的加大对离婚起到正向影响,但不显著;全球化、性别比的增加、家庭负担对离婚的影响为负,但未通过显著性检验。  相似文献
