研究海底热液系统及其岩浆环境,可为了解西太平洋流固界面跨圈层物质与热交换过程,揭示板块俯冲过程的岩浆活动和资源环境效应提供研究支撑。为此,研究了冲绳海槽热液活动的岩浆环境、马努斯海盆的热液柱以及弧后盆地和洋中脊背景下的硫化物与玄武岩的同位素组成,对冲绳海槽热液区附近玄武岩、安山岩、粗安岩、英安岩、流纹岩及其基性岩浆包体进行了岩相学、矿物学以及主量元素、微量元素和同位素组成分析,对马努斯海盆PACMANUS和Desmos热液区的热液柱及海水进行了测量,在海底热液区岩浆混合过程及时间尺度、透视冲绳海槽深部岩浆房及岩浆演化过程和岩浆对热液系统物质贡献研究方面获新进展,揭示了俯冲蛇纹岩对琉球构造带南部岩浆活动的影响,论证了熔体包裹体对弧后盆地岩浆演化的指示,获得了冲绳海槽玄武质岩浆来源新证据,揭示了弧后盆地与洋中脊硫化物和玄武岩中铁、铜、锌的来源及其同位素在硫化物形成和岩浆活动过程中的分馏情况,明确了热液柱的物理、化学空间结构与物质组成特征,以及热液柱的扩散受深度和底流流速的影响,且热液柱扩散过程中溶解铁浓度异常比溶解锰的维持时间更长。未来,发展非传统稳定同位素和挥发份测试技术,进一步了解西太平洋板块俯冲环境下热液活动与岩浆作用的关系,将有助于海底热液系统及其成矿过程研究获得新进展。  相似文献

对采自冲绳海槽中部现代海底热液活动区的H9岩心沉积物进行了常量、微量元素分析,结果表明大部分元素含量在岩心75~80 cm处有一个明显的突变,上段中明显富集多种微量元素,这些元素正好对应于海槽中非热液活动区沉积物中相对亏损的元素,是热液活动区沉积物中的富集特征元素.75~80 cm处岩心沉积物中元素含量突变标志着冲绳海槽中部现代海底热液活动的开始或显著加强.除锰外,在其他热液活动区(如洋中脊等)显著富集的铁、铜、钴、镍在该区富集程度不高,但铅、鉮、锑、汞在上段岩心沉积物中的平均含量较下段高3~6倍,较非热液活动区沉积物中含量高3~12倍.这些富集元素与冲绳海槽热液活动成因硫化物中富集元素非常一致,表明该区热液活动对沉积物中锰、铅、鉮、锑、汞具有重要贡献,锰、铅、鉮、锑、汞是海槽中部现代海底热液活动的特征性示踪元素组合.岩心沉积物中很好地记录了热液活动的发展演化,该区海底热液活动从距今5740a开始发生或显著增强,并且一直持续到现在,只是其间活动程度经历了强弱变化,岩心上段锰的平均堆积速率约为40.461μg/(cm2·ka),与其他热液活动区的相当.  相似文献

本文研究了大洋多金属结核中稀土元素的测试方法.多金属结核这种特殊地质样品,含铁、锰一般在20%~40%左右,而铁、锰属富线光谱元素,对稀土元素谱线均有干扰.本文根据样品特性,仅取250mg多金属结核样品,碱熔后,通过小型阳离子树脂交换柱,采用不同类型酸和不同酸度,洗脱交换柱上的杂质和稀土元素,使稀土元素与杂质元素分离.采用此方法测试国家一级多金属结核标准物质GBW07249中的稀土元素,取得了满意结果.同时利用本法测试了东太平洋多金属结核中稀土元素,并对其地球化学特征进行了初步研究.  相似文献

用ICP-MS测定了太平洋富Co铁锰结壳铂族元素和铼-锇同位素组成。富Co铁锰结壳不仅异常富集铂族元素,而且铂族元素及其它亲铁元素的配发与陨石特征非常相似。铁锰结壳的铼-锇同位素组成明显有别于大陆地壳岩石,和K-T界线沉积物相似,接近陨石值。世界大洋范围内的富Co铁锰结壳均产于远离海底构造热液活动区,几乎不可能受到地幔源热液作用的直接影响。因此,富Co铁锰结壳中的铂族元素可能部分来源于地外物质。  相似文献

海底热液矿床具有重要的经济价值和科学意义。其产出构造背景包括洋中脊、弧后扩张中心及板内热点处。处于不同构造环境的热液矿床具有不同的地质和地球化学特点。系统总结了海底热液矿床产出的地质和地球化学特点,主要包括热液矿床产出的构造背景、围岩类型、矿区的矿物及矿物组合特点以及不同热液区矿床的元素组成、稀土和硫同位素特点等,对各构造环境中热液矿床的特点进行了对比,指出不同热液区热液矿床地质和地球化学特点差异的根本原因在于所处构造环境的不同和扩张速率的差异。文章最后提出了今后应着重研究的几个问题。  相似文献

为了解不同类型含金属沉积物在物质组成和元素赋存状态的差异,对东太平洋海隆13°N洋中脊两侧表层含金属沉积物(站号:E271和E53)进行了矿物学、地球化学分析,顺序提取实验,并与前人对轴部表层沉积物(站号:17A-EPR-TVG1)的研究结果作了对比分析。研究结果表明, E271和E53是远端含金属沉积物,由非浮力热液羽状流中颗粒物沉降所形成的;17A-EPR-TVG1沉积物是近喷口含金属沉积物,由黑烟囱或者热液硫化物丘状体崩塌、堆积,或者由热液羽状流中Fe-Mn氧化物和硫化物快速沉淀而形成的,近喷口沉积物比远端沉积物更富集Fe、Cu和Zn等元素。元素在两种含金属沉积物中的赋存状态基本相同,除了Fe,Cu,Zn,Mo和稀土元素(REE)等元素在远端沉积物中主要存在于Fe-Mn氧化物相,在近喷口沉积物中主要在残留相中。远端沉积物中REE页岩标准化配分模式与海水相似,表明REE主要来自海水,而近喷口沉积物中REE配分模式与热液流体相似,说明REE以高温热液流体来源为主。相关研究结果加深了对热液沉积作用研究的认识。  相似文献

台湾地处西太平洋构造活动带,近海发育了多处热液活动,其中最典型的为龟山岛和绿岛热液体系。本文对海峡两岸在龟山岛和绿岛热液的地球化学特征以及周边生物体的响应的研究进展进行了综述。龟山岛热液喷出流体具有全球最低的pH(1.52),富含重金属元素和CO2等酸性气体,是周围海水中有色溶解有机质的来源;绿岛具有全球热液中最低的溶解有机碳浓度(14 μmol /L),且具有特殊的动力学特性。喷口周边分布了较为罕见的自然硫烟囱体和硫磺球。喷口的高毒性、高酸性热液改变了热液区生物体如螃蟹的生活习性和解毒机制。热液区的主要活跃菌群为参与碳、硫和氮代谢途径的γ-和ε-变形菌。主要生物质合成以硫还原和硫氧化的化能无机自养型生物为主,微生物硫代谢促进了热液系统中的微生物能量流动和元素循环作用。某些热液生物采用繁殖期迁徙的机制应对高毒性、高酸性热液环境。在热液活动的胁迫下,这些微生物产生了新颖独特的代谢产物。此外,龟山岛和绿岛热液体系还受到了潮汐、台风和地震等灾害性事件的影响。台湾近海热液体系的研究对认识热液地球化学循环、探讨热液的生态环境效应等具有重要的意义。  相似文献

不同沉积环境和沉积机制下进入海洋沉积物中的元素分别与不同介质结合,因此,将沉积物中不同结合形态元素相分离的顺序萃取方法是研究沉积物源和沉积环境的重要手段。以Tessier等建立的萃取流程为基础,针对深海沉积物标准物质GBW07315中Fe、Mn、Co、Cu、V元素,分析了方法的准确性和重复性。结果表明:各元素回收率基本介于94%~126%之间,平均值为106%。在重复性方面,除V元素在铁锰氧化物结合态中的相对标准偏差较高外,其余元素在铁锰氧化物结合态、有机结合态以及残渣态中的相对标准偏差均低于15%,而碳酸盐结合态和可交换态中元素的相对标准偏差较大,这与其样品中这些结合态的元素含量相对较低有关。因此,对于深海沉积物来讲,顺序萃取法具有较好的稳定性和可靠性,尤其是对其中铁锰氧化物结合态、有机结合态和残渣态的萃取效果令人满意。将该方法应用于冲绳海槽热液影响沉积物中,实现了热液源铁锰氧化沉积的有效萃取和分离。  相似文献

地表热点是认识地幔柱假说以及地幔柱动力学的窗口,发生在洋脊与热点之间的相互作用则是了解地球上两大动力系统(板块构造和地幔柱)的直接联系的最有利地区。研究洋脊-热点之间的相互作用对于揭示地幔动力学、热点附近洋壳构造的演变以及与热点密切相关的洋中脊处的岩浆热液活动具有重要的意义。在肯定地幔柱假说的基础上,对洋脊-地幔柱(热点)的模拟实验以及三大洋中不同扩张脊与热点相互作用的最新研究作了系统的介绍和评述,指出室内模拟实验以及地质学、岩石学、地球化学和地球物理学(特别是高分辨率的地震技术)的结合研究将是本领域研究的发展趋势。  相似文献

现代海底热液块状硫化物矿床的资源潜力评价   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
现代海底热液活动及其资源效应是近30年来地球科学中的重要研究方向。调查研究表明,有200多个现代海底热液块状硫化物矿床分布于现代海底的各种构造环境中,其中以洋中脊和弧后环境居多,这些矿床中有40多个还具有较大的规模和储量,其中的10个在目前阶段是可以进行勘探和开采利用的。由于巨大的资源潜力,一些国际著名的矿业公司开始关注并投资于现代海底热液块状硫化物矿床的商业性勘探与开发,并希望在5年内获得商业性效益。而在我国,对于海底热液硫化物矿床的调查与研究才刚刚起步。在收集和整理世界各国调查研究资料的基础上,总结分析了现代海底热液硫化物矿床的产出特征、矿物和元素组成等,分析了海底热液硫化物矿床的资源潜力,并对我国的调查与勘探工作提出了展望。  相似文献

海底热液喷发形成的热液羽状流中富含成矿物质,并沉淀在距离热液喷口不等的范围内。对西南印度洋中脊热液喷口附近、距离喷口中等距离、远离喷口的六个表层沉积物样品开展了不同粒度沉积物的便携式XRF(PXRF)分析。结果表明,PXRF可以有效获得的洋中脊钙质沉积物中成矿元素的富集特征。>40目的沉积物样品具有较高的Cu、Zn、Fe、Mn等元素含量,40目以下沉积物中则相对稳定,可能与粗粒沉积物中玄武岩碎屑/玻璃含量较高有关,与镜下鉴定结果一致。以热液喷口为中心,表层沉积物中表现出Cu、Zn、As、Fe、Mn的元素分带,靠近喷口的沉积物中具有较高的成矿元素的含量,并具有较高的Cu/Fe、Zn/Fe比值或者Cu/Mn与Zn/Mn比值。上述结论表明,洋中脊沉积物中成矿元素的含量主要受与喷口的距离的影响,而与粒度的关系不大,洋中脊沉积物地球化学找矿应采用40目以下粒径沉积物作为分析样品。通过PXRF获得的Cu、Zn、As、Fe、Mn等元素含量及其比值特征可以作为海底多金属硫化物沉积物地球化学找矿的指标,该方法满足快速有效识别洋中脊沉积物中地球化学异常的要求。  相似文献

Transparent exopolymer particles (TEP) have recently been recognized as a class of sticky particles that often stimulate macroaggregate formation. Until now, TEP studies were focused on surface waters, particularly in association with diatom blooms. This is the first report of TEP concentrations in an open ocean deep-sea hydrothermal plume environment. The occurrence of TEP in deep water demonstrates its existence in an environment that is devoid of growing phytoplankton, the organisms generally regarded as TEP's primary source. The main objective of this study was to investigate the presence and potential abundance of TEP within hydrothermal plumes over the Juan de Fuca Ridge. Samples for TEP and bacteria were collected from CTD-rosette casts through hydrothermal plumes over the Juan de Fuca Ridge during the summers of 1999 and 2000. Concentrations of TEP and bacteria within the hydrothermal plumes were significantly greater than in background seawater. TEP number and volume concentrations reported here are low compared to reported values for shallow environments, but are substantially higher than published reports of TEP in other deep water environments. Ratios of TEP anomalies to temperature anomalies (a conservative hydrothermal tracer) increased with distance from the apparent plume source, suggesting that TEP are produced within the aging hydrothermal plumes. Potential TEP sources associated with hydrothermal plumes are discussed. TEP in hydrothermal plumes could stimulate in situ aggregate formation, support populations of attached bacteria, and serve as a potential food source to zooplankton.  相似文献

The 200-mi exclusive economic zone (EEZ) around Johnston Island, 700 mi west of Hawaii, contains economically attractive concentrations of cobalt, nickel, platinum, and rare earth elements contained in manganese crusts on the surface of seafloor plateau areas. Detailed mineralogy and geochemistry reveal these deposits to be largely hydrogenous in origin although also containing elemental additions due to biological, weathering, hydrothermal, detrital, and diagenetic processes. The major mineralogical phase is vernadite (delta manganese dioxide) laid down in strataform crustal deposits. The most valuable metal, cobalt, shows concentrations highest in the upper layers of the crusts and decreasing with stratigraphic depth. Upcoming submersible dives will fully document the significance of this deposit.  相似文献

A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was developed to simulate the turbulent flow and species transport of deep-sea high temperature hydrothermal plumes. The model solves numerically the density weighted unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations and energy equation and the species transport equation. Turbulent entrainment and mixing is modeled by a kε turbulence closure model. The CFD model explicitly considers realistic vent chimney geometry, vent exit fluid temperature and velocity, and background stratification. The model uses field measurements as model inputs and has been validated by field data. These measurements and data, including vent temperature and plume physical structure, were made in the ABE hydrothermal field of the Eastern Lau Spreading Center. A parametric sensitivity study based on this CFD model was conducted to determine the relative importance of vent exit velocity, background stratification, and chimney height on the mixing of vent fluid and seawater. The CFD model was also used to derive several important scalings that are relevant to understanding plume impact on the ocean. These scalings include maximum plume rise height, neutrally buoyant plume height, maximum plume induced turbulent diffusivity, and total plume vertically transported water mass flux. These scaling relationships can be used for constructing simplified 1-dimensional models of geochemistry and microbial activity in hydrothermal plumes. Simulation results show that the classical entrainment assumptions, typically invoked to describe hydrothermal plume transport, only apply up to the vertical level of ~0.6 times the maximum plume rise height. Below that level, the entrainment coefficient remains relatively constant (~0.15). Above that level, the plume flow consists of a pronounced lateral spreading flow, two branches of inward flow immediately above and below the lateral spreading, and recirculation flanking the plume cap region. Both turbulent kinetic energy and turbulence dissipation rate reach their maximum near the vent; however, turbulent viscosity attains its maximum near the plume top, indicating strong turbulent mixing in that region. The parametric study shows that near vent physical conditions, including chimney height and fluid exit velocity, influence plume mixing from the vent orifice to a distance of ~10 times the vent orifice diameter. Thus, physical parameters place a strong kinetic constraint on the chemical reactions occurring in the initial particle-forming zone of hydrothermal plumes.  相似文献

Event plumes form as episodic discharges of large volumes of hydrothermal solutions in response to magmatic diking/eruptive events. In consequence, event plumes represent the sudden injection of exploitable reduced chemical substrates, as well as inhibitory constituents, and likely induce successional changes in the microbial community structure and activity within event plume waters. In response to a major seismic event detected beginning 28 February 1996 at the northern Gorda Ridge, a series of three rapid response and follow-up cruises (GREAT 1, 2 and 3) were mounted over a period of three months. This report focuses on time-series measurements of manganese geomicrobial parameters in the two event plumes found in association with this seismic event.Scanning transmission electron microscopy, elemental microanalysis, and radioisotope (54Mn) uptake experiments were employed on samples collected from vertical and tow-yo casts from the three cruises. Numbers of bacteria and ratios of metal precipitating capsuled bacteria to total bacteria were greatest in the youngest (days old) plume, EP96A, found during GREAT 1; however, when normalized to the hydrothermal temperature anomaly, the greatest values were found in a second event plume, EP96B, discovered during GREAT 2 (up to 1 month old). Early capsule bacteria and particulate Mn distributions may have been influenced by entrainment of resuspended sediment, while those of the oldest (2–3 months) plume sample may have been subjected to preferential aggregation and particle settling.  相似文献

This publication considers the probing data on aquatic anomalies (hydrothermal plumes) in the areas of 26° and 29° N of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR). The mass of the hydrothermal iron supply and the intensity of the iron sedimentation onto the bottom were estimated by means of sediment traps. It was found that the plume of the TAG hydrothermal vent 6 km3 in volume contained about 67 t of suspended Fe; the plume of the Broken Spur field (up to 8.24 km3 in volume) contained 23.5 t or less because of the lower concentration. The data on the sedimentary matter fluxes showed that 0.3–0.5% of the hydrothermal iron was precipitated immediately from a plume of neutral buoyancy onto the bottom; the bulk of the iron was dissipated into the environment. From the dimensions of the plumes, the flow dynamics, the iron concentrations in the plumes, and the amounts of iron supplied by hydrothermal vents, it was found that the resident time of the plumes considered was from 5 to 10 days.  相似文献

Metal-enriched minerals have been widely observed near hydrothermal vent fields.However,the dynamics of particulate metals influenced by hydrothermal activities is poorly constrained.Here,radioactive ~(234)Th in both dissolved and particulate phases were used to examine the kinetics of particle-reactive metal adsorption,removal,and residence in a newly found hydrothermal plume over the Southwest Indian Ridge.The results showed a relatively low value on ~(234)Th/~(238)U ratios(i.e.,0.73-0.88) compared to the deep oceans,indicating an enhanced adsorption of particle-reactive metals onto particulate matter in the plume.Based on the ~(234)Th-~(238)U disequilibria,the adsorption and sinking rate constants of ~(234)Th averaged(0.009±0.001) d~(-1) and(0.113±0.024) d~(-1) in the hydrothermal plume,corresponding to the residence times of(115±19) d and(16±5) d for dissolved and particulate ~(234)Th,respectively.This timescale allows vent-discharged particle-reactive metals to disperse hundreds to thousands of miles away.Thus,hydrothermal activities might influence the metal distribution in deep ocean over a very large scope.Also,a high sinking flux of(36.2±5.4) B q/(m~2·d) for ~(234)Th was observed for the plume,suggesting an enrichment of metal in particles deposited close to the vent.The enhancement of particle sinking could also benefit the transport of organic carbon and nitrogen and fuel the benthic ecosystems under the plume regimes.Thus,hydrothermal plumes may have an impact on both the elemental geochemistry and/or ecosystem to the deep oceans interior than previous expectation.  相似文献

Hydrothermal plume is an important constituent of seabed hydrothermal circulation and is also one of the characteristics of active hydrothermal vents. Portable Miniature Autonomous Plume Recorders (MAPR) attached to a towed deep-sea instrument was used to search for hydrothermal plumes and hydrothermal vents. We introduced the basic principle of MAPR based on deep towing technology to detect plumes, then analyzed the factors affecting the quality of the MAPR data and presented a data correction method for MAPR, including instrument location correction, noise reduction processing, system error elimination and seawater background reduction. Finally we applied the method to analyze MAPR data obtained during the Chinese DY115-21 cruise on R/VDayang Iin the “Precious Stone Mountain” hydrothermal field on the Gala-pagos Microplate. The results provided a better understanding of the distribution of the hydrothermal activ-ity in this field, indicating the presence of a new hydrothermal vent.  相似文献

基于热液及其羽状流的化学异常提出了一种海底热液的化学式探测方法。根据自行开发的Eh.Ag/Ag2S和pH三种化学电极,设计了多参数化学传感器系统。通过海试证明多参数化学传感器可灵敏地检测出由热液异常引起的化学量变化,并在长达半年的多次使用中表现出其稳定性好、寿命长的特点。在东太平洋中脊(EPR)赤道区域和西南印度洋中脊(SWIR)的60条测线中,获得有效测线55条,其中在29条测线上发现明显或可能的热液异常。研究表明,应用多参数化学传感器探测进行海底热液化学异常,是一种有效的方法。  相似文献

Vertical profiles for the uranium-series radioisotopes 210Pb and 210Po were obtained at thetwo hydrothermal vent sites, the Iheya Ridge and the Minami-Ensei Knoll, in the Mid-Okinawa Trough in 1993 and 1994, respectively. In 1995, both radioisotopes were measured at the Minami-Ensei Knoll a-gain. At the Iheya Ridge, where the hydrothermal activity is not active as reflected by the CH_4, and 222Rn data, both the total 210Pb and 210Po activities show deficiency relative to their parents, and the mean residence time of 210Pb and 210Po is approximately equal to 20 and 2-5 a, respectively. At the Minami-Ensei Knoll, which is characterized by black smokers, the total 210Pb(0.167 × 10~(-3)-2.5 × 10~(-3)_ Bq/kg) around the plumes is deficient relative to 226Ra but the total 210Po activities (1.83 × 10 ~(-3) - 2.83 × 10~(-3) Bq/kg) are in excess relative to 210Pb. The 210Po activities are higher than those in the East China Sea and the Okinawa Trough and excess 210Po has been found. The 210Pb/226Ra and 210Po/  相似文献
