对冲绳海槽北部80个表层沉积样品中放射虫进行的定量研究表明,其丰度和分异度西北部低,东南部高,由西北向东南递增;从西北陆架到东南海槽放射虫分布可分为陆架低值区,海槽边缘中值区和中央高值区,放射虫的组成以泡沫虫目占绝对优势,总体面貌为热带大洋暖水动物群,沉积物中放射虫的分布与现代表层海水温度,盐度的分布和变化趋势一致,但与营养盐和实级生产力的分布呈负相关关系;同时,放射虫的分布又与研究区的海流和水团有密切关系,其中黑潮对其有控制性影响,沉积物类型极大地影响着放射虫的分布,放射虫的丰度和分异度明显地随粒度的增大和陆源物质含量的增加而减小,此外,放射虫的分岂有此理也显示了与沉积物中火山物质含量的密切相关性。  相似文献

111 samples of diagenetically aged radiolarians sampled in the Central Pacific manganese nodules belt were investigated chemically and microscopically.

Authigenic clays of the smectite group are precipitated in the cavities of radiolarian tests; metal oxides are precipitated on the surfaces of radiolarian tests. During these processes a separation of iron from manganese takes place: about 96% of the iron is bound to smectites and all of the manganese is bound to the oxide coatings of the radiolarians.

With further diagenesis, radiolarian tests are dissolved together with their oxide coatings. This dissolution of the oxide coatings provides material for the growth of manganese nodules, material which is depleted in Fe and enriched in Mn, Cu, and Zn.

The smectite aggregates that fill the cavities of radiolarian tests contain iron bound to their crystal lattice. Whereas radiolarian tests are dissolved during the diagenesis, these smectite aggregates do not dissolve and thus become enriched in older samples.  相似文献

A study of radiolarian fluxes collected during 1991–93 from time-series sediment traps deployed at 1071 and 3010 m water depth in the southern Bay of Bengal (SBBT) yielded 40 species/groups of radiolarians. Among the order Polycystina, the species of sub-order Spumellaria were by far the most abundant (∼95%) followed by sub-order Nassellaria (5%). This is contrary to reports from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and is attributed to the prevailing hyposaline condition resulting from the monsoonal rainfall. Higher radiolarian fluxes occurred during March–May, when moderate salinity and a high sea surface temperature (SST) regime prevailed at the trap site. R-mode cluster analysis of the radiolarian flux data revealed three assemblages represented by the cooler (A) and warmer (C) surface dwelling fauna (0–50 m) dominated by spumellarians, and a deeper dwelling (B) sub-surface fauna (50–100 m) associated with deep dwelling (>100 m) nassellarian species. Spongaster tetras tetras, a surface water radiolarian species, exhibited its preference for high SST and moderate salinity conditions during the pre-monsoon season (March–May). Radiolarian fluxes responded to seasonal changes in SST and salinity variations due to the monsoonal precipitation, and the freshwater runoff from the Indian rivers causing a hyposaline condition in the Bay of Bengal. Results imply that the radiolarian assemblages in the down core data may reveal the monsoonal history in the geological past.  相似文献

We have examined the history of the elevated primary productivity associated with the Benguela Current upwelling system off southwest Africa using sediments from 7.5 to 4.8 Ma at Ocean Drilling Program Site 1085 in the middle Cape Basin. Sedimentation rates are low until 6.9 Ma. Low accumulation rates of benthic foraminifers and organic carbon indicate that biological productivity was also low. Paleoproductivity dramatically increased at 6.7–6.5 Ma and was highly variable until 4.8 Ma with productivity maxima during cooler periods. The presence of radiolarian opal only between 5.8 and 5.2 Ma suggests an interlude of silica-rich intermediate water in the Cape Basin. The onset of heightened productivity under the Benguela Current is mirrored by similar increases reported between 6.9 and 6.7 Ma in the tropical eastern Pacific, the western and northern Pacific, and the Indian Ocean. The similarity between the patterns at Site 1085 and in the Pacific and Indian Oceans suggests that the dramatic productivity increase off southwest Africa is part of a global response to paleoceanographic changes.  相似文献

Cycladophora davisiana, a radiolarian species dwelling at mesopelagic depths, is known as a representative glacial fauna due to its unique distribution during glacial periods. In the present ocean, abundant production of C. davisiana is only observed in the Okhotsk Sea, indicating an adaptation of C. davisiana for seasonal sea-ice covered conditions. We found pronounced abundant production of C. davisiana during the early to middle Holocene in the Okhotsk Sea, suggesting more favorable conditions for C. davisiana than the present Okhotsk Sea. In order to clarify the reason, oceanographic conditions during the Holocene were reconstructed based on biomarkers, lithogenic grains including ice-rafted debris (IRD), biogenic opal, and total organic carbon (TOC) in two sediment cores from the Okhotsk Sea. These indicators suggest that the pronounced C. davisiana production may be attributed to: 1) a supply to mesopelagic depths under intensified stratification of fine organic particles derived from coccolithophorids, bacteria, and detrital materials; and 2) cold, well-ventilated intermediate water formation.  相似文献

对南海南部25个表层沉积样进行了生物硅的测定分析,试图揭示南海南部表层沉积生物硅的分布及其对现代海洋环境的指示意义,以便为古海洋学研究提供进一步的科学依据。研究发现,表层沉积物中生物硅含量与其所处水深呈显著正相关关系,相关系数达到0.782。陆架浅水区表层沉积物中生物硅含量非常低,不能反映表层水体中硅质生物生产力情况,这可能与沉积类型和陆源物质输入影响有关。深水区表层沉积物中生物硅的含量分布表明,其不仅能反映表层水体中硅质生物的古生产力水平,而且还能指示上升流的强弱,从而进一步证实了利用沉积物中生物硅含量来追踪上升流发育和变化的有效性与可信度。研究结果还显示,在研究区域中北部表层沉积生物硅中放射虫和海绵骨针较硅藻占有更大的比重,这可能是由于硅藻易被溶解并易被其他生物体摄食的缘故。在有上升流发育的海域,放射虫、硅藻和海绵骨针基本上表现出较高的丰度,这与高的生物硅含量相一致。  相似文献

通过对台湾岛以东(角点坐标为22°N,122°E;22°N,124°30′E;24°N,125°25′E;24°N,122°E)海域67个表层沉积物样品的微体生物化石的研究,鉴定放射虫2目34科101属,178种(含21个未定种),其中泡沫虫目19科70属134种,罩笼虫目15科31属44种。对样品中保存的有孔虫化石亦进行了分析,并初步认为:影响该区微体生物化石分布的主要因素是温度、盐度、海水深度、海底沉积物、海底地形以及海流、水团等。对上述诸因素与微体生物间的关系进行了探讨。  相似文献

Mass fluxes of diatom opal, planktonic foraminifera carbonate and coccolithophorid carbonate were measured with time-series sediment traps at six sites in the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Equatorial Indian Ocean (EIOT). The above fluxes were related to regional variations in salinity, temperature and nutrient distribution. Annual fluxes of diatom opal range between 3 and 28 g m−2 yr−1, while planktonic foraminifera carbonate fluxes range between 6 and 23 g m−2 yr−1 and coccolithophorid carbonate fluxes range between 4 and 24 g m−2 yr−1. Annual planktonic foraminifera carbonate to coccolithophorid carbonate ratios range between 0.8 and 2.2 and coccolithophorid carbonate to diatom opal ratios range between 0.5 and 3.3.In the western Arabian Sea, coccolithophorids are the major contributors to biogenic flux during periods of low nutrient concentrations. Coccolithophorid carbonate fluxes decrease and planktonic foraminiferal carbonate and diatom opal fluxes increase when nutrient-rich upwelled waters are advected over the trap site. In the oligotropic eastern Arabian Sea, coccolithophorid carbonate fluxes are high throughout the year. Planktonic foraminiferal carbonate fluxes are the major contributors to biogenic flux in the EIOT. In the northern and central Bay of Bengal, when surface salinity values drop sharply during the SW monsoon, there is a drastic reduction in planktonic foraminiferal carbonate fluxes, but coccolithophorid carbonate and diatom opal fluxes remain steady or continue to increase. Distinctly higher annual molar Sibio/Cinorg (>1) and Corg/Cinorg (>1.5) ratios are observed in the northern and central Bay of Bengal mainly due to lower foraminiferal carbonate production as a result of sharp salinity variations. We can thus infer that the enhanced freshwater supply from rivers should increase oceanic CO2 uptake. Its silicate supply favours the production of diatoms while the salinity drop produces conditions unfavourable for most planktonic foraminifera species.  相似文献

The modern Sea of Okhotsk and the high-latitude glacial ocean share similar radiolarian faunas suggesting they also share environmental similarities. This sea favors deep- (>200 m) over shallow-living species as evidenced by collections of sediment traps set at 258 and 1061 m in the central part of the Sea. Of the twelve dominant polycystine radiolarian species, four live above and eight below 258 m. The shallow-living species’ productivity maxima coincide with spring and fall phytoplankton blooms while deep-living species’ annual production, nearly twice that of the shallow-living species, is concentrated in fall. Previous workers have shown that summer plankton tows collect higher concentrations of polycystine Radiolaria below than above 200 m and that Radiolaria, fish and zooplankton have unusual concentration maxima between 200 and 500 m. The paucity of Radiolaria and other consumers above 200 m coincides with an upper (0–150 m) cold (−1.5°C to 1.5°C), low salinity layer while higher concentrations below 200 m occur within warmer saltier water. This unusual biological structure must produce a lower ratio of shallow (<200 m) to deep carbon remineralization than elsewhere in the world ocean.Deep-living radiolarian species, similar to those of the modern Sea of Okhotsk, dominate glacial high-latitude deep-sea sediments. If the hydrographic and biological structures that produced these glacial faunas were like those of the modern Sea of Okhotsk, then glacial high-latitude oceans would have differed from today's in at least two respects. Surface waters were less saline and more stable enhancing the spread of winter sea ice. This stability, combined with a deepening of nutrient regeneration, reduced surface water nutrients contributing to a reduction of atmospheric carbon dioxide.  相似文献

南海是东亚古季风产物的主要沉积盆地,保存着比陆地更加完整和连续的沉积记录。详细分析了ODP1143号钻井晚中新世的放射虫化石群,主要根据标志种Diartus petterssoni,D.hughesi和Stichocorys delmontensis等的分布特征,分别建立了南海南部晚中新世的RN6,RN7和RN8等3个放射虫化石带,并讨论了其地层年龄。探讨了以地层中放射虫的丰度变化特征等在南海南部作为东亚古夏季风活动替代性指标的可能性,初步说明东亚古夏季风可能早于8.7Ma B.P.出现,约在8.24Ma B.P.强化达到高峰,认为与印度季风的出现几乎同步或略早。  相似文献

The data on the distribution of the radiolarian species Cycladophora davisiana in the present-day ocean and its Quaternary sediments are summarized. The distribution of this species is influenced by the formation of the cold ventilated intermediate water mass enriched in suspended organic matter. The maximal abundance of the species is recorded above the continental slopes. The long-term Quaternary variations in the relative abundance of C. davisiana are inconsistent with the cyclic glacial-interglacial fluctuations and are of limited significance for the regional stratigraphy.  相似文献

等辐骨虫目(Acantharia)是原生动物放射虫纲中的一大类, Müller(1858)最初称这类动物为Acanthometra,并发现其骨针排列的规律[后人称之为穆勒氏律(Müllers law)]。继后,Haeckel在1862-1887年先后发表了两部放射虫专著,其中共描述了等辐骨虫七百多种,又把这类动物改称为Acantharia,在分类系统上,奠定了初步基础。1904-1906 年,Popofsky根据1887年Hensen领导进行的浮游生物调查所获的放射虫资料,先后发表了两篇报告,共记述了等辐骨虫三百多种,其中增加了许多新的科属,对Haeckel的分类系统作了些修改,对种类亲缘关系的解释亦进了一步。1906-1907年,Mielck 利用在俾斯麦群岛中采到的等幅骨虫作研究,他提出的分类方怯,更注意到等辐骨虫虫体的柔软部分(例如中央囊等);虽然工作甚少,但颇有学术价值。 在分类研究史上,Schewiakoff是等辐骨虫分类系统的重大改革者,1926年,他发表了那波利湾(Bay of Naples)的等辐骨虫专著,由于用活体观察法和理化方法进行了研究,观察到许多前人所未见的形态和结构,例如发现等辐骨虫并非全部都有中央囊,有的只具内胶膜,并且查明了中央囊内也有外质的存在。此外,根据个体发育的观察研究,归并和订正了前人所鉴定的许多种属。Schewiakoff在分类上,不仅以骨骼结构、而且还以中央囊及胶膜的有无、肌原纤维的形状和数目等等作为依据,故他所提出的分类系统比较合理。 近年来,对等辐骨虫分类系统进行研究的有Trégouboff(1953)和Campbell(1954)等人,Trégouboff所讨论的系统基本上是依照Schewiakoff;Campbell虽然提出了新的分类系统,可惜没有提出更多的理由来说明。 有关等辐骨虫化石及其在地层学上的实际价值,迄今还报导得很少,Davis (1950)在奥曼(Oman)曾发现放射虫的Mayenella新属,他认为这是等辐骨虫的化石,并且提出可以利用它作为鉴别中生代地层的指示化石,但Campbell认为该属并非等辐骨虫而把它归并到泡沫虫目(Spumellaria)中去。早在1887年,Haeckel 就认为本类动物根本没有化石,因为它的骨骼是由硫酸锶或Acantin质组成,易被海水溶解,但Campbell & Clark(1944)在美国加利福尼亚南部中生代地层中还是发现了等辐骨虫(Acanthometron astraeforme)的化石。此外,在Campbell(1954)的放射虫分类系统中也列出等辐骨虫的某些科属有化石的种类,然而,终究因为本类动物的化石迄今发现尚少,故在地层学的价值上未见有显著的地位。 关于我国海区的等辐骨虫,以往报告的很少,仅1932年王家楫与倪达书曾记录过厦门的一种,即Acanthometra pellucida J. Müller。1958年以来,我们进行了东海的放射虫调查研究,本文即是研究报告的第一部分,着重在等辐骨虫分类学方面的研究,并讨论了它们在东海的数量分布。  相似文献

Accurate knowledge of the extent of biogenic opal preservation in marine sediment cores is important for paleoceanographic reconstructions. The alkaline leaching method is widely employed for %biogenic opal analysis due to its ease and speed. In this study, a revised method for measuring %biogenic opal in sediment from arctic coring expedition samples was suggested. The studied middle Eocene sediments from the central Arctic Ocean presented a problem in insufficiently leaching biogenic opal with a Na2CO3 solution. Based on XRD analysis, it was suggested that such an alkaline resistance results from slight diagenesis of biogenic opal. In order to solve this problem, an alkaline leaching method utilizing a 2 M NaOH solution was suggested for the accurate measurement of %biogenic opal in the Eocene sediments from the central Arctic. Furthermore, dissolution rates from lithogenic matter by NaOH solution were measured in order to correct the %biogenic opal values.  相似文献

The depth distributions of the radiolarian fauna in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, marginal seas of the western Arctic Ocean, were examined quantitatively in depth-stratified plankton tows from 4 or 5 intervals above 500 m and in surface sediments from various depths between 163 and 2907 m. The radiolarian assemblage from the water column in September 2000 was dominated by Amphimelissa setosa and followed by the Actinomma boreale/leptoderma group, Pseudodictyophimus gracilipes and Spongotrochus glacialis. These species are related to the Arctic Surface Water shallower than 150 m. This assemblage is similar to that in the Greenland Sea relating to the ice edge, but did not contain typical Pacific radiolarians in spite of the flow of water of Pacific origin in this region. The living depth of Ceratocyrtis historicosa was restricted to the relatively warm water between 300 and 500 m corresponding to the upper Arctic Intermediate Water (AIW) originating from the Atlantic Ocean. Radiolarian assemblages in the surface sediments are similar to those in the plankton tows, except for common Cycladophora davisiana in sediment samples below 500 m. C. davisiana is probably a deep-water species adapted to the lower AIW or the Canadian Basin Deep Water ventilated from the shelves.  相似文献

A total of 67 samples from the upper and lower sediment traps in the central South China Sea were analyzed, which were collected during 1993~1996. It is indicated that the distribution of stable isotope values, surface primary productivity, fluxes of total particulate matter, carbonate, biogenic opal, organic carbon, planktonic foraminiferal species and their total amount exhibit obviously seasonal and annual fluctuations. High values of the fluxes occurred in the prevailing periods of the northeastern and southwestern monsoons, and the low values occurred during the periods between the two monsoons. The fluxes of some planktonic foraminiferal species (Globigerinoides sacculifer, G. ruber, Globigerinita glutinata, Neogloboquadrina dutertrei) and their percentages also exhibit two prominent peaks during the prevailing periods of the northeastern and southwestern monsoons respectively, while those of Globigerina bulloides, Globorotalia menardii and Pulleniatina obliquiloculata only exhibit one peak in the prevailing periods of the northeastern monsoon. In addition, fluxes and percentages of Globigerinoides sacculifer and Globorotalia menardii as well as the fluxes of carbonate and total amount of planktonic foraminifera decrease gradually from 1993 to 1996, and those of Globigerina bulloides, Globigerinita glutinata and biogenic opal increase gradually from 1993 to 1996. The fluxes of carbonate and organic carbon in the upper trap are higher than those in the lower one. The study indicates that the seasonal and annual variations of the sediment fluxes and planktonic foraminiferal species are mainly controlled by the changes of surface primary productivity and hydrological conditions related to the East Asian monsoon. The lower carbonate and organic carbon fluxes in the lower trap are related to the dissolution.  相似文献

The radiolarian distribution is studied in Core IMAGES MD01-2415 (46-m-long) from the central Sea of Okhotsk. The obtained data made it possible to refine the regional biostratigraphy and document the major paleoenvironmental changes in the basin in the last million years. In total, 17 radiolarian datum planes are defined with 12 of them being new. Their number exceeds that previously established for different fossil groups in the Subarctic Pacific for this period. Radiolarian datum planes are usually confined to the main boundaries and Quaternary climatic events. The analysis of the radiolaria distribution reveals several major paleoenvironmental shifts in the sea that occurred 950, 700, and 420–280 ka ago and are correlative with regional and global phases of the Middle Pleistocene climatic revolution.  相似文献

通过对南海中部1993~1996年获得的浅层和深层时间系列沉积物捕获器的样品分析,发现了稳定同位素值、颗粒总通量、碳酸盐、生物蛋白石、有机碳、表层初级生产力、浮游有孔虫总通量和属种的分布存在明显的季节性变化,其通量都是在东北季风和西南季风盛行期出现高值,在季风转向期出现低值.浮游有孔虫Globigerinoides sacculifer,G.ruber,Globigerinita glutinata,Neo-globoquadrina dutertrei等种的通量和相对百分含量也是在东北季风和西南季风盛行期都出现高值,但Globigerina bulloides,Globorotalia menardii和Pulleniatina obliquiloculata等种则在东北季风盛行期出现高值.分析还发现Globigerinoides sacculifer和Globorotalia menardii等种的通量和百分含量以及有孔虫总通量和碳酸盐通量等从1993到1996年存在下降趋势,而Globigerina.bulloides和Globigerinita glutinata的通量和百分含量以及生物蛋白石通量等在该期间显示为上升趋势.浅层捕获器样品中的碳酸盐和有机碳的通量比深层的高.研究表明海洋沉降通量和浮游有孔虫属种的季节和年际变化主要受与东亚季风相关的表层初级生产力和海洋水文条件变化所控制,深层捕获器样品中的碳酸盐和有机碳的通量低应与碳酸盐溶解作用有关.  相似文献

对南海西北部海区1959年全年各月所取得的浮游生物小网样品中的放射虫进行了定量研究,分析了其种类组成和分布,结果表明,所鉴定出的212种多孔放射虫主要为热带大洋暖水种,其中泡沫虫目(Spumellaria)145种,占总种数的68%,罩笼虫目(Nassellaria)67种,占总种数的32%;泡沫虫目无论在种类和数量上均较罩笼虫目占优势.研究海域的主要优势种为海绵球虫(Spongosphaera streptacantha)、钟翼盔虫(Pterocorys campanula)、四房面包虫四房亚种(Om-matartus tetrathalamus tetrathalamus)、三臂星虫(Triastrum aurivillii).该海域放射虫的全年密度分布状况变化很大,1,2月放射虫密度较小,分布范围也较小,3月起数量增多,4,5,6月是全年密度较大的月份,出现许多斑块状密集区,7,8月数量有所减少,其他月份密度也相对较小.放射虫数量变化总的趋势为春末夏初较多,秋季较少,冬季最少.放射虫的丰度和种类多样性在调查海域变化复杂,但基本趋势是从西北和北部向东南部由低逐渐升高;由海南岛周边海域和广东沿海向外海由低逐渐升高;此分布格局主要受海流、温度、盐度、深度和营养盐等环境因子的影响.  相似文献
