The solar wind-induced drag on magnetically large comets is estimated as follows. As the comet approaches the sun, solar radiation striking the comet surface generates a surrounding neutral atmosphere which is subsequently ionized. The resulting plasma cloud interacts with the solar wind to produce a comet magnetosphere and associated collision-free shock wave. An approximation to the accompanying drag is obtained using the similarity between the comet magnetosphere and that of the earth, and is shown to be much less than the mechanical mass loss force.  相似文献

The interior of the Sun is not directly accessible to observations. Nonetheless, it is possible to infer the physical conditions inside the Sun with the help of structure equations governing its equilibrium and with the powerful observational tools provided by the neutrino fluxes and oscillation frequencies. The helioseismic data show that the internal constitution of the Sun can be adequately represented by a standard solar model. It turns out that a cooler solar core is not a viable solution for the measured deficit of neutrino fluxes, and the resolution of the solar neutrino puzzle should be sought in the realm of particle physics.  相似文献

利用全球卫星激光测距服务系统(ILRS,International Laser Ranging Service)标准点资料对Ajisai卫星进行精密定轨,残差均方根(RMS)优于3 cm,得到该星的精密轨道.进而对长春站40 cm空间碎片光电望远镜获得的Ajisai卫星的天文定位资料进行精度分析,外符合精度约3″左右.单独利用天文定位数据进行轨道改进,内符合精度优于3″.改进轨道的x、y、z坐标3分量在观测数据覆盖范围内的精度在100 m之内.同样地对Jason-1卫星作数据分析,结果和Ajisai卫星精度相当.分析各个弧段的精度变化,发现定标星个数减少,会导致天文定位精度下降.据此提出可以把最少定标星比例作为评定数据质量的参考指标之一.  相似文献

针对天文观测数据不等间隔的特点,利用Jurkevich方法对黑洞候选体x射线双星CygX-1近16年的RossiX-rayTimingExplorer(RXTE)All-SkyMonitor(ASM)数据进行了频谱分析,并结合Kidger周期存在可信度的判据,发现CygX-1存在363±11.5d的光变周期,但没有发现420d的光变周期,而且150d的光变周期可能仅仅是51±1.4d光变周期的观测表象。  相似文献

The principal objections to our paper on Jordan-Brans-Dicke Bianchi-type universes are misleading. The intended solutions assume a power-law form, only in the limit of very large times. Although this is the only one for which we wrote down explicit solutions. The physical point of view behind our paper was to extend the re-scaling method, developed by one of us, to anisotropic universes in general and not to make a detailed study of each of the possible solutions that could be obtained through this process.  相似文献

A one-dimensional model of nonviscous gas in isothermal flow is considered, using the theory of Abramovich (1976). A mechanism of spicule flow is proposed which successfully explains the observed spicule height. The model further predicts inhomogeneities in the magnetic field topology, and in the direction and magnitude of the velocity flow.  相似文献

The Mercury Imaging X-ray Spectrometer (MIXS) will be launched on board of the 5th ESA cornerstone mission BepiColombo. The two channel instrument MIXS is dedicated to the exploration of the elemental composition of the mercurian surface by imaging x-ray spectroscopy of the elemental fluorescence lines. One of the main scientific goals of MIXS is to provide spatially resolved elemental abundance maps of key rock-forming elements. MIXS will be the successor of the XRS instrument, which is currently orbiting Mercury on board of NASAs satellite MESSENGER. MIXS will provide unprecedented spectral and spatial resolution due to its innovative detector and optics concepts. The MIXS target energy band ranges from 0.5 to 7 keV and allows to directly access the Fe-L line at 0.7 keV, which was not accessible to previous missions. In addition, the high spectroscopic resolution of FWHM ≤ 200 eV at the reference energy of 1 keV after one year in Mercury orbit, allows to separate the x-ray fluorescence emission lines of important elements like Mg (1.25 keV) and Al (1.49 keV) without the need for any filter. The detectors for the energy and spatially resolved detection of x-rays for both channels are identical DEPFET (DEpleted P-channel FET) active pixel detectors. We report on the calibration of the MIXS flight and flight spare detector modules at the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) beamlines at the BESSY II synchrotron radiation facility. Each detector was calibrated at least at 10 discrete energies in the energy range from 0.5 to 10 keV. The excellent spectroscopic performance of all three detector modules was verified.  相似文献

The evolution on the AGB and beyond is reviewed with respect to the origin of Wolf-Rayet central stars. We focus on thermal pulses due to their particular importance for the evolution of hydrogen deficient stars. It is shown that overshoot applied to all convection regions is a key ingredient to model these objects leading to intershell abundances already close to the surface abundances of Wolf-Rayetcentral stars. In contrast to standard evolutionary calculations, overshoot models do show dredge up for very low envelope masses and efficient dredge up was found even during the post-AGB stage. Three thermal pulse scenarios for Wolf-Rayet central stars can nowbe distinguished: an AGB Final Thermal Pulse (AFTP) occurring at the very end of the AGB evolution, a Late Thermal Pulse (LTP) occurring during the post-AGBevolution when hydrogen burning is still on, and a Very Late Thermal Pulse (VLTP) occurring on the cooling branch when hydrogen burning has already ceased. All scenarios lead to hydrogen-deficient post-AGB stars with carbon and oxygen abundances as observed for Wolf-Rayet stars.Hydrogen is either diluted by dredge up (AFTP, LTP) or completely burnt (VLTP).  相似文献

The natural spherical projection associated with the Hierarchical Equal-Area and Isolatitude Pixelization (HEALPix) is described and shown to be one of a hybrid class that combines the cylindrical equal-area and Collignon projections, not previously documented in the cartographic literature. Projection equations are derived for the class in general and are used to investigate its properties. It is shown that the HEALPix projection suggests a simple method of (i) storing and (ii) visualizing data sampled on the grid of the HEALPix pixelization, and also suggests an extension of the pixelization that is better suited for these purposes. Potentially useful properties of other members of the class are described, and new triangular and hexagonal pixelizations are constructed from them. Finally, the standard formalism is defined for representing the celestial coordinate system for any member of the class in the FITS data format.  相似文献

Some aspects of viscous cosmological models, mainly of Bianchi type-I, are studied, in particular with the purpose of trying to obtain a natural explanation of why the entropy per baryon in the universe, ~ 109, is so large. Using the FRW metric it is first shown, in agreement with previous workers, that the expressions for the bulk viscosity as derived from kinetic theory in the plasma era is incapable of explaining the large value of. However it is possible to imagine the viscosity to be an impulse viscosity operative in one or several phase transitions in the early universe. This is the main idea elaborated on in the present paper. It is shown that in thek = 0 FRW space, an impulse bulk viscosity infl ~ 1060 g cm–1 s–1) acting at the phase transition at the end of the inflationary epoch corresponds to the correct entropy. If the space is anisotropic, it is natural to exploit the analogy with classical fluid dynamics to introduce the turbulent viscosity concept. This is finally discussed, in relation to an anisotropy introduced in the universe via the Kasner metric.  相似文献

The pulsar is a high-speed rotationing neutron star with a stable rotational period, being not disturbed and destroyed artificially, and can be taken as the reference quantity of the absolute time. In this article a kind of pulsar time service method based on the Kalman filtering algorithm is proposed, and the simulation analysis of the clock error control based on the Kalman filtering and of the effect of the pulsar catalogue error and the measuring accuracy of the pulsar time of arrival (TOA) on the accuracy of time service is made by taking a certain solar synchronous orbit as an example. The result shows that by utilizing this method the clock error of the satellite-borne clock can be effectively eliminated and its time-dependent increase is restrained, thereby solving the problem that the accuracy of the spacecraft-borne low cost clock can not meet the needs.  相似文献

The latitudinal profile of near-surface air temperature on Titan retrieved by Voyager 1 has been difficult to understand and raised several speculations about possible exotic processes that might be occurring near Titan's surface, while the thermal properties of the surface itself are unknown. This study systematically investigates the seasonal and spatial variation of the surface temperature and air temperature in the lower troposphere by a 3-dimensional general circulation model for different putative surface types (porous icy regolith, rock-ice mixture, hydrocarbon lakes). For any viable surface type the surface temperature is unlikely to be constant through the year and should more or less vary seasonally and even diurnally, most likely by a few K. Recent observations of tropospheric clouds may be evidence of seasonal variation of the surface temperature and the model predicts in the case of solid surface the development of a convective layer with superadiabatic lapse rates near the surface exactly at those latitudes and seasons where clouds have been identified. The latitudinal profile of the surface temperature retrieved from Voyager 1 infrared spectra can be explained without invoking exotic effects, provided the thermal inertia of the surface is relatively small and/or the surface albedo is low. A dominance of water ice (high thermal inertia and high albedo) at the surface is unfavorable to reproduce the observation. The latitudinal gradient of the surface temperature is particularly large at the hydrocarbon lake surface due to low albedo and small surface drag. Local anomalies of the surface albedo or surface thermal inertia are likely to cause substantial inhomogeneities of the surface temperature. Quasi-permanent accumulation of stratospheric haze at both poles would create a perennial equator-to-pole contrast of the surface temperature, but also a substantially lower global-mean surface temperature due to an enhanced anti-greenhouse effect in summer. The air temperature in the lower troposphere exhibits a tiny latitudinal gradient and a pole-to-pole gradient due to the presence of a pole-to-pole Hadley circulation, indicating that the temperature within the planetary boundary layer may exhibit a vertical profile characteristic of season, location and scenario. There may be a shallow near-surface inversion layer in cold seasons and a shallow convective layer in warm seasons.  相似文献

The stationary axisymmetric outflow from a rotating sphere with a (split) monopole magnetic field is considered. The stream equation describing the outflow is linearized in terms of the Michel magnetization parameter σ−1 ≪ 1, which allows a self-consistent analysis of the direct problem. It is shown that for a finite σ the fast magnetosonic surface is located at a finite distance ∼ σ1/3 R L ( R L =  c /ΩF is the light cylinder). We have also found that the particle energy at the fast surface is just equal to the Michel value γ ∼ 1/3σ. The particle acceleration and magnetic field collimation are shown to become ineffective outside the fast magnetosonic surface.  相似文献

We study the distribution of the sunspot-group size (area) and its dependence on the level of solar activity. We show that the fraction of small groups is not constant but decreases with the level of solar activity so that high solar activity is mainly defined by large groups. We analyze the possible influence of solar activity on the ability of a realistic observer to see and report the daily number of sunspot groups. It is shown that the relation between the number of sunspot groups as seen by different observers with different observational acuity thresholds is strongly nonlinear and cannot be approximated by the traditionally used linear scaling (\(k\)-factors). The observational acuity threshold [\(A_{\mathrm{th}}\)] is considered to quantify the quality of each observer, instead of the traditional relative \(k\)-factor. A nonlinear \(c\)-factor based on \(A_{\mathrm{th}}\) is proposed, which can be used to correct each observer to the reference conditions. The method is tested on a pair of principal solar observers, Wolf and Wolfer, and it is shown that the traditional linear correction, with the constant \(k\)-factor of 1.66 to scale Wolf to Wolfer, leads to an overestimate of solar activity around solar maxima.  相似文献

Three types of meteoritic material are found on the Moon: micrometeorites, ancien planetesimal debris from the ‘early intense bombardment’, and debris of recent, crater-forming projectiles. Their amounts and compositions have been determined from trace element studies. The micrometeorite component is uniformly distributed over the entire lunar surface, but is seen most clearly in mare soils. It has a primitive, C1-chondrite-like composition, and comprises 1-1.5% of mature soils. Apparently it represents cometary debris. The mean annual influx rate is 2.4 × 10?9 g cm?2 yr?1. It shows no detectable time variation or dependence on selenographic position. The ancient component is seen in highland breccias and soils more than 3.9 AE old. It has a fractionated composition, with volatiles depleted relative to siderophiles. The abundance pattern does not match that of any known meteorite class. At least two varieties exist (LN and DN, with Ir/Au, Re/Au 0.25-0.5 and > 0.5 the C1 value). Both seem to represent the debris of planetesimals that produced the mare basins and highland craters during the first 700 Myr of the Moon's history. It appears that the LN and DN objects impacted at less then 10 km s?1, had diameters less than 100 km, contained more than 15% Fe, and were not internally differentiated. Both were depleted in volatiles; the LN objects also in refractories (Ir, Re). This makes it unlikely that the LN bodies served as important building blocks of the Moon. The crater-forming component has remained elusive. Only a possible hint of this component has been seen, in ejecta from Dune Crater and Apollo 12 KREEP glasses of Copernican (?) origin.  相似文献

It is known that the correlation between the observed visible luminositym(z), angular dimension (z) of galaxies on the red shiftz and theoretical relations of the standard cosmology is possible only under the assumption that the luminosity and object dimension evolution are equal toL(z) =L 0(z + 1)3.2 andl(z) =l 0(z + 1)–2, respectively. This evolution is hypothetical, since it is defined by a theory which is not confirmed by experience. In order to solve the problem on the reality of the Universe expansion, it is sufficient to prove or disprove these conclusions using methods of measurement independent of the theory. One of these methods consists of defining the dependence of the radiation spectra of galaxies and quasars onz which evidently is proportional to the spectrum of absolute luminosityL(, z). It has subsequently been shown that the spectrum form is practically independent of the red shift - i.e., it remains constant during the lifetime of galaxies and quasars. Consequently, to explain the luminosity increase required by the standard cosmology, it is necessary to admit a completely unreal entity (at all wavelengths of the optical spectrum increase) of the radiation spectral density of (z + 1)3.2 times. We can conclude that in reality the luminosity evolution is either absent or its power index is smaller at least by an order of magnitude. It is likely, therefore, that the established is the result of an inadequate standard in cosmology.Another method is the use of the observed relations between the parameters ofL andl galaxies. A number of measurements made by different authors gives the relationlL a , where 0.33a1.6. It then follows thatl(z)(z + 1)3.2a . This dependence of the galaxy dimension is inverse to the dependence predicted by the standard cosmology. Besides, in order to make a correlation between thel(z)(z + 1)3.2a and measurements of (z), it is necessary that indices of the degree of luminosity evolution should be smaller by an order of magnitude.Thus, the luminosity increase and simultaneous decrease of galaxy and quasar dimensions predicted by the standard cosmolog are not confirmed by the direct astrophysical measurements. This discrepancy is the consequence of an incorrect hypothesis of Universe expansion and the relativistic cosmology based on it.  相似文献

Some recent observations of the Sun suggest a class of wave-like motions moving both eastward and westward at a uniform velocity with respect to the mean solar angular velocity. It is suggested that these may be hydromagnetic planetary waves. An estimate of the mean toroidal magnetic field is made, based on a theoretical treatment of such waves already in the literature, and a slight correction to the mean rate of rotation of the Sun is inferred.  相似文献
