A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made of obliquely propagating dust-acoustic solitary structures in a cold magnetized two-ion-temperature dusty plasma consisting of a negatively charged, extremely massive, cold dust fluid and ions of two different temperatures. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) equation which admits a solitary wave solution for small but finite amplitude limit. It has been shown that the presence of second component of ions modifies the nature of dust-acoustic solitary structures and may allow rarefactive dust-acoustic solitary waves (solitary waves with density dip) to exist in such a dusty plasma system. The effects of obliqueness and external magnetic field on the properties of these dust-acoustic solitary structures are also briefly discussed.  相似文献

We derive a mixed modified Korteweg-de Vries (MK-dV) equation from a semi-relativistic ion acoustic wave with hot ions by the fluid approximation. The positive cubic nonlinearity of the mixed MK-dV equation give rise to the periodic progressive waves and the algebraic solitary waves. The periodic wave bears a series of solitary pulses, and the algebraic solitary wave reduces the rarefactive solitary wave in the limit of the particular boundary condition. These nonlinear wave modes explain, respectively, the periodic pulse of the potential and the rarefactive solitary wave of the fine structure observed in space.  相似文献

A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made on multi-dimensional instability of obliquely propagating electrostatic dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary structures in a magnetized dusty electronegative plasma which consists of Boltzmann electrons, nonthermal negative ions, cold mobile positive ions, and arbitrarily charged stationary dust. The Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived by the reductive perturbation method, and its solitary wave solution is analyzed for the study of the DIA solitary structures, which are found to exist in such a dusty plasma. The multi-dimensional instability of these solitary structures is also studied by the small-k (long wave-length plane wave) perturbation expansion technique. The combined effects of the external magnetic field, obliqueness, and nonthermal distribution of negative ions, which are found to significantly modify the basic properties of small but finite-amplitude DIA solitary waves, are examined. The external magnetic field and the propagation directions of both the nonlinear waves and their perturbation modes are found to play a very important role in changing the instability criterion and the growth rate of the unstable DIA solitary waves. The basic features (viz. speed, amplitude, width, instability, etc.) and the underlying physics of the DIA solitary waves, which are relevant to many astrophysical situations (especially, auroral plasma, Saturn’s E-ring and F-ring, Halley’s comet, etc.) and laboratory dusty plasma situations, are briefly discussed.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation is developed to study the existence, formation and basic properties of arbitrary amplitude dust ion-acoustic solitary potentials in a dusty plasma consisting of warm ions, trapped electrons and immobile negative (positive) dust particles. It is found a definite interval for the Mach number for which solitary waves exist and depend sensitively on the ion temperature and negative (positive) dust concentration. In addition, the effects of ion temperature, two oppositely charged dust species and resonant electrons on the shape of the solitary waves are also investigated extensively. For both cases of negative and positive dust grains, the effect of ion temperature is found to be destructive for the formation of localized structures. Further, the amplitude of the solitary structures decreases (increases) with the increase in the negative (positive) dust concentration.  相似文献

Bifurcations of dust acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with q-nonextensive velocity distributed ions are studied through non-perturbative approach. Basic equations are reduced to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. After that by applying the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to this equation, we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. Two exact solutions of the above waves are derived depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, the effect of the parameter (q) is studied on characteristics of dust acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves. The parameter (q) significantly influence the characteristics of dust acoustic solitary and periodic structures.  相似文献

A theoretical model is presented to investigate the existence, formation, and possible realization of nonlinear envelope ion acoustic solitary waves which accompany collisionless electron-positron-ion plasmas with high-energy electrons and positrons (represented by kappa distribution). By employing the reductive perturbation method, the hydrodynamic model and the Poisson equation are reduced to nonlinear Schr?dinger equation. The effects of the superthermal parameters, as well as ion-to-electron temperature ratio on the propagation and stability of the envelope solitary waves are examined. The superthermal parameters (ion-to-electron temperature ratio) give rise to instability (stability) of the solitary excitations, since the instability window is strongly modified. Finally, the present results should elucidate the excitation of the nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary wave packets in superthermal electron-positron-ion plasmas, particularly in interstellar medium.  相似文献

Ion acoustic (IA) solitary and rogue waves are studied in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of non-degenerate warm ions, relativistically degenerate electrons and positrons. By using the reductive perturbation technique, the evolution of IA solitary waves is described by the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. However, when the frequency of the carrier wave is much smaller than the ion plasma frequency then the KdV equation is also used to study the nonlinear evolution of modulationally unstable modified IA wavepackets through the derivation of nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It is found that the characteristics of the IA solitary and rogue waves are substantially influenced by the intrinsic plasma parameters. The relevance of the present investigation involving IA solitary and rogue waves in astrophysical plasma environments is also highlighted.  相似文献

The oblique collision of nonlinear quantum dust-acoustic (NQDA) solitary waves in a three-dimensional (3D) magnetized dense dusty plasma is investigated. Furthermore, two coupled Kortwege–de Vries equations for describing our model and the analytical phase shifts after the oblique collision of two NQDA solitary waves are derived using the extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo (PLK) method. The modification in the phase shift and the trajectory of the NQDA solitary waves structures due to the inclusion of oblique collision and external magnetic field are discussed numerically. The numerical results are applied to high density astrophysical situations such as in superdense white dwarfs.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves are investigated in a magnetized dusty plasma comprising cold dust fluid and kappa-distributed ions and/or electrons. The influence of suprathermal particles, obliqueness, and ion temperature on the DA solitary waves is investigated. We find that only negative DA solitary waves will be excited in this model. Also it is shown that the amplitude of the DA solitary wave decreases with deviation of electrons or ions from Maxwellian distribution via decrease of κ e or κ i . The effect of the temperature of the ion decreases with the amplitude and steepness of the solitary wave front.  相似文献

Ion acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with superthermal (kappa distributed) cool and hot electrons have been investigated using non-perturbative approach. We have transformed basic model equations to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. Then we have applied the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained equation and we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. We have derived two exact solutions of solitary and periodic waves depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, we have shown the effects of density ratio p of cool electrons and ions, spectral index κ, and temperature ratio σ of cool electrons and hot electrons on characteristics of ion acoustic solitary and periodic waves.  相似文献

The nonlinear properties of solitary waves structure in a hot dusty plasma consisting of isothermal hot electrons, non isothermal ions and high negatively charged massive dust grains, are reported. A modified Korteweg-de Vries equation (modified KdV), which admits a solitary waves solution for small but finite amplitude, is derived using a reductive perturbation theory. A nonisothermal ions distribution provides the possibility of coexistence of amplitude rarefactive as well as compressive solitary waves. On the other hand, consideration of a critical ions density gives a stationary solution of solitary waves and the dynamics of small but finite amplitude of solitary waves is governed by Korteweg-de Vries equation (KdV). The properties of solitary waves in the two cases are discussed.  相似文献

Electron acoustic blow up solitary waves and periodic waves are studied in a classical unmagnetized plasma containing cold electron fluid, kappa distributed hot electrons and stationary ions. We obtain Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation for electron acoustic waves (EAWs) using the reductive perturbation technique (RPT). Applying bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained KdV equation, we prove the existence of electron acoustic blowup solitary and periodic wave solutions. Depending on different physical parameters, two types of exact explicit solutions of the mentioned waves are derived. Our model may be applied to explain blow up solitary and periodic wave features that may occur in the planetary magnetosphere and the plasma sheet boundary layer.  相似文献

The properties of heavy-ion-acoustic (HIA) solitary structures associated with the nonlinear propagation of cylindrical and spherical electrostatic perturbations in an unmagnetized, collisionless dense plasma system has been investigated theoretically. Our considered model contains degenerate electron and inertial light ion fluids, and positively charged static heavy ions, which is valid for both of the non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic limits. The Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) and modified K-dV (mK-dV) equations have been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method, and numerically examined in order. It has been found that the effect of degenerate pressure and number density of electron and inertial light ion fluids, and positively charged static heavy ions significantly modify the basic features of HIA solitary waves. It is also noted that the inertial light ion fluid is the source of dispersion for HIA waves and is responsible for the formation of solitary waves. The basic features and the underlying physics of HIA solitary waves, which are relevant to some astrophysical compact objects, are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The combined effects of the obliqueness and nonextensive electrons are incorporated in the study of ion-acoustic (IA) solitary waves in a magnetized electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasma. The nonlinear Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. The plasma parameters such as, the degree of nonextensivity, obliqueness, positron concentration and temperature ratio are found to significantly affect the solitary waves characteristics. Also, a critical value of nonextensivity is found for which solitary structures transit from positive to negative potential. Our finding contributes to the physics of the nonlinear electrostatic excitation in astrophysical and cosmological scenarios like magnetosphere, polar cups region of pulsars, neutron stars and white dwarfs, etc., where magnetized e-p-i plasma can exist.  相似文献

Nonlinear ion acoustic solitary wave structures in electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) magnetized rotating plasmas is studied. The electron and positron species are assumed to be nonthermal and follow the kappa distribution function. The Korteweg de Vries (kdV) equation is derived by employing the reductive perturbation technique for solitary wave in the nonlinear regime. The variation in the amplitude and width of the solitary wave are discussed with the effects of positron concentration, temperature ratio of kappa distributed electrons to positrons, spectral index of the positrons, direction of propagation of the wave with magnetic field and effective gyrofrequency of the rotating nonthermal plasmas. The numerical results are also presented for illustration.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ion acoustic waves in an ideal plasmas containing degenerate electrons is investigated. The Korteweg-de-Vries (K-dV) equation is derived for ion acoustic waves by using reductive perturbation method. The analytical traveling wave solutions of the K-dV equation investigated, through the (G′/G)-expansion method. These traveling wave solutions are expressed by hyperbolic function, trigonometric functions are rational functions. When the parameters are taken special values, the solitary waves are derived from the traveling waves. Also, numerically the effect different parameters on these solitary waves investigated and it is seen that exist only the compressive solitary waves in Thomas-Fermi plasmas.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made on obliquely propagating dust-ion-acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) in magnetized dusty electronegative plasma containing Boltzmann electrons, trapped negative ions, cold mobile positive ions, and arbitrarily charged stationary dust. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the modified Zakharov-Kuznetsov (MZK) equation which admits solitary wave solution under certain conditions. The multi-dimensional instability of these solitary waves is also studied by the small-k (long wavelength plane wave) perturbation-expansion technique. The basic properties (speed, amplitude, width, instability, etc.) of small but finite amplitude DIASWs are significantly modified by the effects of external magnetic field, obliqueness, polarity of dust, and trapped negative ions. The implications of our results in space and laboratory plasmas are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The propagation of solitary waves in an unmagnetized collisional dusty plasma consisting of a negatively charged dust fluid, positively charged ions, isothermal electrons, and background neutral particles is studied. The ionization, ion loss, ion–neutral, ion–dust, and dust–neutral collisions are considered. Applying a reductive perturbation theory, a damped Korteweg–de Vries (DKdV) equation is derived. On the other hand, at a critical phase velocity, the dynamics of solitary waves is governed by a damped modified Korteweg–de Vries (DMKdV) equation. The nonlinear properties of solitary waves in the two cases are discussed.  相似文献

Weak ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in unmagnetized plasmas having two-fluid ions and kappa-distributed electrons are considered. The effects of electron suprathermality, warm ion temperature and polarity on the nonlinear properties of these IASWs are analyzed. It is found that our present plasma model may support compressive as well as rarefactive solitary structures.  相似文献

Arbitrary amplitude ion-acoustic solitary waves propagating in a magnetized plasma composed of positive ions, superthermal electrons and positrons are investigated. For this purpose, the ions are represented by the hydrodynamical fluid equations while the non-Maxwellian electrons and positrons densities are assumed to follow kappa (κ) distribution. The basic equations are reduced to a pseudoenergy-balance equation. Existence conditions for large amplitude solitary waves are presented. The analytical and numerical analysis of the latter show that the ion-acoustic solitary wave can propagate only in the subsonic region in our plasma system and it is significantly influenced by the plasma parameters. The present analysis could be helpful for understanding the nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves propagating in interstellar medium and pulsar wind, which contain an excess of superthermal particles.  相似文献
