Early ideas of rapid decrease in ore in grade and reserves with depth has led to considerable pessimism on calculation of C2 reserves. Increased efficiency of mining methods, technology, and equipment has made it possible to mine many of the larger low grade deposits, lower grade deposits, and lower grade fringe deposits thereby greatly increasing the life of mines and mining districts. Most old mining districts have had productive lives far beyond known reserves at any one time. Ore zoning, except for unusual type of deposits, only rarely is of much practical importance in considering the depths of deposits. Geologic ore reserves of the C2 category have been greatly underestimated in Russia. This category is not used for planning the immediate development of deposits and as a result there are many errors of planning and development. C2 reserves should be calculated much more realistically than the present conservative practice and the results should be used in the proper economic development of ore deposits. - - J. A. The Zhuravlinyi Log deposit is located 12 km southeast of Plast City. The deposit was initially prospected in 1951 and 1952 under the supervision of V.G. Lyulicheva. The prospecting revealed the presence of kaolin of quality surpassing the raw material in the Eleninsk and Kyshtym deposits. Although a positive assessment was given, new prospecting and appraisal works were carried out under the supervision of V.I. Kakorin in the vicinity of the previously discovered deposit in 1985 taking into consideration recommendations given by the VNIIgeolnerud (renamed TsNIIgeolnerud) Federal State Unitary Enterprise. The results revealed several separate white and pale kaolin deposits. Exploitation of the deposit was started even before its exploration. Construction of the Plast-Rifey dressing plant was completed during the exploitation of the central ore body. Follow-up exploration of the deposit completed in 2006 confirmed that the dry kaolin equivalent reserves of categories B + C1 according to the Russian classification (approximately corresponding to the measured + indicated reserve in the western classification) and category C2 (approximately corresponding to the inferred reserve) are estimated at 11.05 and 5.55 Mt, respectively. The Zhuravlinyi Log deposit is a major supplier of kaolin products fitting the standards of paper, fine ceramics, fiberglass, chemical reagents, and others. The present paper based on the exploration data attempts to show specific features of the geological setting of this deposit, as well as the mineral composition and properties of kaolin therein.  相似文献

Analysis of all available geological, geophysical, and field data on some gas condensate fields discovered within the Khapchagai megaswell (Vilyui syneclise of the Siberian Platform) as early as the 1960s shows the presence of oil rims in Lower Triassic (horizon T1-III in the Srednevilyuiskoe and Tolonskoe gas condensate fields and horizon T1-Kh in the Mastakhskoe gas condensate field) and Lower Jurassic (horizons J1-I and J1-II in the Mastakhskoe gas condensate field) deposits. The C3 oil reserves in these rims are estimated at several tens of millions of tons of oil. The results are indicative of the oil potential of the Lower Mesozoic deposits not only of the Vilyui syneclise but also of the Lena–Vilyui petroliferous province as a whole, which was always characterized as a gas-bearing province in summary reports.  相似文献

南(阳)襄(樊)盆地泌阳凹陷是一个油、碱共生的蒸发岩盆地,已探明规模石油与天然碱(NaHCO3和Na2CO3·3NaHCO3)地质储量。原油分为成熟油和未熟(低熟)油,成熟油储集于碎屑岩中,未熟(低熟)油储集于白云岩的裂缝和孔洞之中,而天然碱矿的围岩就是白云岩(裂缝和孔洞中也有天然碱赋存)。其地质特征与美国绿河盆地和犹英塔盆地十分相似,油碱共生受控于大地构造背景、古地貌、古地理、古气候、古沉积环境和物质来源等地质条件。  相似文献

Carbon (δ13CPDB) and oxygen (δ18OSMOW) isotopic compositions of auriferous quartz-carbonate veins (QCVs) of gold deposits from Sangli, Kabuliyatkatti, Nagavi, Nabapur and Mysore mining areas developed on the Central Lode system of the Gadag Gold Field (GGF) in the Neoarchaean Gadag schist belt of the Dharwar Craton, southern India have been examined for the first time to understand the origin of the mineralising fluids. In majority of the samples (46 out of 49), δ13Cpdb of carbonates of the QCVs fall in the range from − 2.2‰ to − 9.7‰ and the δ18O values range from 12.0‰ to 30.5‰ SMOW. The calculated fluid δ13C C compositions for these deposits range from − 2.1‰ to − 9.6‰ and δ18OH2O from 6.8‰ to 25.9‰, respectively. Carbonate δ13C and fluid δ13C C compositions of the carbonates of the QCVs of the GGF are not only distinct from the carbon isotope range of marine carbonates or meta-sedimentary carbonates of the Chitradurga schist belt, but are consistent with C-isotope values of magmatic (− 5 ± 3‰, Burrows et al., 1986) and/or mantle (− 6 ± 2‰, Ohmoto, 1986) carbonates. As dissolution/decarbonation reactions during metamorphism of pre-existing carbonate/carbonated rocks produce CO2 with δ13C values similar to or more enriched than parent rock, the carbonate or fluid δ13C ratios of the QCVs (which fall in the compositional range of mantle/magmatic derived CO2 or carbonates) obtained in this work cannot be the result of metamorphism. The present study corroborates our previous reports from Ajjanahalli and G.R. Halli gold deposits (Sarangi et al., 2012) occurring in the vicinity of the southern extension of the same crustal scale shear zone on which all the GGF deposits are located.The age of gold mineralisation in this area has been reported to be 2522 ± 6 Ma by Sarma et al., 2011. Chardon et al. (2011) have proposed large-scale remobilization of the older gneissic basement, as well as, emplacement of juvenile granites between 2559 Ma and 2507 Ma, close to the crustal scale shear zone along the eastern margin of the Chitradurga schist belt. Based on these observations and our isotope studies, it is proposed that gold mineralising fluids were derived from mantle/juvenile magmatic melts and were channelled through crustal scale shear zones to give rise to the gold deposits in the GGF.  相似文献

China is rich in abundant lithium resources characterized by considerable reserves and a concentrated distribution of metallogenic zones or belts, with proven reserves of 4046.8×103 t (calculated based on Li2O) by 2021. China is also a big consumer of lithium. By 2019, China ’s lithium consumption in the battery sector alone had reached 99×103 t, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 26%. China has become the world ’s largest importer of lithium resources, showing a severely unbalanced relationship between supply and demand for lithium resources. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the prospecting, exploitation, and study of lithium resources in China. This study collected, organized, and summarized the data on the major lithium deposits in China, analyzed and compared the spatial-temporal distribution patterns, geological characteristics, and metallogenic regularity of these lithium deposits, and summarized the prospecting and research achievements over the last decade. The major lithium deposits in China are distributed in provinces and regions such as Qinghai, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Tibet, and Xinjiang. These deposits are mostly small in scale. According to different genetic types, this study divided lithium deposits into granitic pegmatite type, granite type, saline lake brine type, underground brine type, and sedimentary type, as well as new types including hot spring type and magmatic-hydrothermal type, and summarized the characteristics and key metallogenic factors of these different types of deposits. Sixteen metallogenic prospect areas of lithium deposits were delineated according to the deposit types and the distribution patterns of metallogenic belts. The paper introduced the research progress in major metallogenic models and lithium extraction techniques made over the past decade. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the prospecting potential of lithium deposits, the authors concluded that the future prospecting of lithium resources in China should focus on lithium metallogenic belts, the deep and peripheral areas of currently determined large-scale pegmatite-type lithium deposits, geophysical-geochemical anomalous areas with mineralization clues, and areas with developed large-scale low-grade associated granite-type and sedimentary lithium resources. Albite deposits of western Turkey occur within gneiss in the basal part of the Menderes Metamorphic Massif. The most important deposits are located along the Karadere mineralization zone, within an anticlinorium of 15-km length with a direction of N10–30E. Detailed study of the four deposits forming the northern part of this zone has allowed us to discover large reserves of 100.65 million tons, of which 78% is composed of high-grade ore with a content of 10.27% Na2O. The remainder is formed by low-grade ore with 8.37% Na2O and 1.11% K2O and mixed ore with 4.61% Na2O and 4.05% K2O, with reserves of 14.4 and 8.2 million tons, respectively. To cite this article: U. 成矿流体高氧逸度是斑岩铜矿床模式的一个基本原则。虽然亚洲单个矿体储量最大的普朗铜矿床的成矿母岩——普朗复式岩体具氧化性岩浆特点,但其矿物组合及流体成分却与还原性斑岩型铜金矿床一致:矿石中以发育大量磁黄铁矿为特征,构成黄铜矿-磁黄铁矿-黄铁矿为主的矿物组合,不发育表征高氧逸度的原生磁铁矿和硫酸盐(硬石膏等)矿物;成矿流体中含较多CO2、CO和CH4等还原性组分,氧逸度低于铁橄榄石-磁铁矿-石英缓冲剂。成矿流体中还原性组分可能来源于普朗复式岩体周围的含碳质千枚岩或深部铁镁质岩浆。还原性流体中铜元素的溶解度比氧化性流体中的低,但金元素的溶解度不受氧化还原条件的影响;而CH4可使SO2还原形成S2-,为辉钼矿的形成提供物质基础;可能是导致普朗铜矿床Cu品位偏低而伴生大量Au、Mo矿化的主要原因之一。普朗铜矿床还原性特征的厘定有益于深入研究其矿床成因、乃至区域斑岩型铜矿床成矿机制。  相似文献

马坑式铁矿位于闽西南晚古生代坳陷盆地内,是福建省境内最主要的矽卡岩型铁-多金属矿床。矿体主要受岩性界面及构造结构面控制,尤以硅钙面控矿作用显著。马坑式铁矿主矿体定位于林地组(C1l)石英砂岩与经畲—栖霞组(C2j—P2q)碳酸盐岩的岩性界面(硅钙面)。通过对马坑式铁矿硅钙面的基本特征进行分析,划分了五类主要的成矿结构面类型:林地组与经畲组—栖霞组、经畲组—栖霞组与文笔山组、经畲—栖霞组内部碎屑岩与灰岩、经畲组—栖霞组与花岗岩类以及推覆(滑脱)界面。研究认为马坑式铁矿主矿体受不同的物理化学岩性界面(硅钙面)控制,这种界面在构造活动及流体参与过程中容易形成扩容空间,构成成矿地球化学障,有利于成矿物质的沉淀富集。在以上认识基础上,建立了以硅钙面为主要成矿作用标志的马坑式铁矿成矿模式,认为运用硅钙面控矿理论指导闽西南地区找矿预测的具有重要的找矿指导意义。   相似文献

Calcium carbonate is one of the most common and important scale-forming minerals in oilfield produced water, but the kinetics of CaCO3 precipitation has been ignored in most scale prediction models because of the lack of reliable precipitation rate model. There are none in the open literature for oilfield conditions (temperature > 100°C, pressure > 200 bar and salinity > 0.5 mol kg− 1). In this work the kinetics of calcite (CaCO3) precipitation from high salinity waters (up to 2 mol kg−1) have been studied by a pH-free-drift method in a closed water system. This method. is much easier to operate than the often used steady-state method. The experimental results indicate that the calcite precipitation rate is not only affected by the solution CaCO3 saturation level, but also by the solution pH, ionic strength and the concentration ratios of Ca to HCO3− ions (CCa2+/CHCO3). When the concentration ratios of Ca to HCO3 ions are close to their chemical stoichiometric ratio of 0.5, the calcite growth from a supersaturated solution is believed to be surface reaction controlled. However, at higher CCa2+CHCO3 ratios, the transportation of the lattice ions to calcite crystal surface has to be considered.  相似文献

矽卡岩矿床各种硅酸盐矿物中熔融包裹体和流体-熔融包裹体的显微测温资料和相成分让我们提出过大量矽卡岩是岩浆成因的建议。在本文中,我们提供沿长江中下游成矿带的许多矽卡岩矿床包含在石榴子石和辉石里的熔融包裹体和流体-熔融包裹体的激光拉曼分析结果,目的是证明所研究的并与Cu-Fe-Au矿床共生的矽卡岩系岩浆成因。我们的研究结果显示,熔融包裹体只含固体相和微量气相。流体-熔融包裹体除了含大量固相外,还含微量流体和气相以及没有被仪器检测到的气体。固体相与包裹体寄主矿物相同或类似。流体相主要为水或盐水溶液和包括C6H6、C3H6、C3H8、CH4、CO2和O2的气体。我们提出,熔融包裹体和流体-熔融包裹体是原始岩浆的最好代表。这就证明,矽卡岩组合是由一个原生岩浆直接结晶而成。此外,我们还讨论了岩浆矽卡岩形成的温度、分布范围和规模、形成机制和与Cu-Fe-Au矿化作用的联系。  相似文献

<正>The world-class Huize Pb-Zn deposits of Yunnan province,in southwestern China,located in the center of the Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou Pb-Zn polymetallic metallogenic province,has Pb+Zn reserves of more than 5 million tons at Pb+Zn grade of higher than 25%and contains abundant associated metals,such as Ag,Ge,Cd,and Ga.The deposits are hosted in the Lower Carboniferous carbonate strata and the Permian Emeishan basalts which distributed in the northern and southwestern parts of the orefield.Calcite is the only gangue mineral in the primary ores of the deposits and can be classified into three types,namely lumpy,patch and vein calcites in accordance with their occurrence.There is not intercalated contact between calcite and ore minerals and among the three types of calcite,indicating that they are the same ore-forming age with different stages and its forming sequence is from lumpy to patch to vein calcites. This paper presents the rare earth element(REE) and C-O isotopic compositions of calcites in the Huize Pb-Zn deposits.From lumpy to patch to vein calcites,REE contents decrease as LREE/ HREE ratios increase.The chondrite-normalized REE patterns of the three types of calcites are characterized by LREE-rich shaped,in which the lumpy calcite shows(La)_N(Ce)_N(Pr)_N≈(Nd)_N with Eu/Eu~*1,the patch calcite has(La)_N(Ce)_N(Pr)_N≈(Nd)_N with Eu/Eu~*1,and the vein calcite displays(La)_N(Ce)_N(Pr)_N(Nd)_N with Eu/Eu~*1.The REE geochemistry of the three types of calcite is different from those of the strata of various age and Permian Emeishan basalt exposed in the orefield.Theδ~(13) C_(PDb) andδ~(18)O_(Smow) values of the three types of calcites vary from-3.5‰to-2.1‰and 16.7‰to 18.6‰,respectively,falling within a small field between primary mantle and marine carbonate in theδ~(13)C_(PDb) vsδ~(18)O_(Smow) diagram. Various lines of evidence demonstrate that the three types of calcites in the deposits are produced from the same source with different stages.The ore-forming fluids of the deposits resulted from crustal -mantle mixing processes,in which the mantle-derived fluid components might be formed from degassing of mantle or/and magmatism of the Permian Emeishan basalts,and the crustal fluid was mainly provided by carbonate strata in the orefield.The ore-forming fluids in the deposits were homogenized before mineralization,and the ore-forming environment varied from relatively reducing to oxidizing.  相似文献

The stratabound mineral deposits in the Kuandian Group (PtK) are all transformed deposits and might be classified into two types: syngenetic transformed deposits, such as boron, iron, rare-earth, pyrite and apatite ores, and metamorphic hydrothermal transformed deposits, such as magnesite, asbestos and talc. The boron deposits in the Kuandian Group are confined to the middle part of the Kuandian geosyncline 45 km in width and 400 km in length, constituting a boron ore zone trending in the same direction as the geosyncline itself. They may be classified commerrcially into two types, i. e., "white boron ore" and "black boron ore". The former, made up mainly of boronmagnesite and suanite, are rarely associated with ferruginous minerals, while the latter contains ludwigite and magnetite, forming ore of mixed type, the former occurs unexceptionally in PtK: while the latter can be found in three stratigraphic positions, i. e., PtK22, PtK41 and PtK62. The B-Fe-TR formation has formed in time and space a metallogenic sequence and three obliquely arranged zones on account of the uneven distribution of useful element composition in the original strata. Within the Kuandian geosyncline, therefore, three subformations could be recognized from its periphery in inward succession: Fe-TR, B-Fe-TR and B-(Fe) subformations, accompanied by an increase in B and a decrease in Fe. So far as economic significance is concerned, the iron deposits in the Kuandian Group are likely to be assigned to four types, namely, Fe-TR type (Shengtieling type), Fe-B type (Wengquangou type), Fe-rich and sulfide-bearing type (Yanglin type) and Fe-magnesite-magnetite type (Daankou type). The "sedimentation- transformed" idea ought to be emphasized in the whole process of mineral exploration for stratabound deposits in Kuandian Group except for metamorphic-hydrothermal-transformed ones. The sedimentary record of carbonate carbon isotopes (δ13Ccarb) provides one of the best methods for correlating marine strata and understanding the long‐term evolution of the global carbon cycle. This work focuses on the Late Ordovician Guttenberg isotopic carbon excursion, a ca 2·5‰ positive δ13Ccarb excursion that is found in strata globally. Substantial variability in the apparent magnitude and stratigraphic morphology of the Guttenberg excursion at different localities has hampered high‐resolution correlations and led to divergent reconstructions of ocean chemistry and the biogeochemical carbon cycle. This work investigates the magnitude, spatial scale and sources of isotopic variability of the Guttenberg excursion in two sections from Missouri, USA. Centimetre‐scale isotope transects revealed variations in δ13Ccarb and δ18Ocarb greater than 2‰ across individual beds. Linear δ13Ccarb to δ18Ocarb mixing lines, together with petrographic and elemental abundance data, demonstrate that much of the isotopic scatter in single beds is due to mixing of isotopically distinct components. These patterns facilitated objective sample screening to determine the ‘least‐altered’ data. A δ18Ocarb filter based on empirical δ18Ocarb values of well‐preserved carbonate mudstones allowed further sample discrimination. The resulting ‘least‐altered’ δ13Ccarb profile improves the understanding of regional as well as continental‐scale stratigraphic relations in this interval. Correlations with other Laurentian sections strongly suggest that: (i) small‐scale variability in Guttenberg excursion δ13Ccarb values may result in part from local diagenetic overprinting; (ii) peak‐Guttenberg excursion δ13Ccarb values of the Midcontinent are not distinct from their Taconic equivalents; and (iii) no primary continental‐scale spatial gradient in δ13Ccarb (for example, arising from chemically distinct ‘aquafacies’) is required during Guttenberg excursion‐time. This study demonstrates the importance of detailed petrographic and geochemical screening of samples to be used for δ13Ccarb chemostratigraphy and for enhancing understanding of epeiric ocean chemistry.  相似文献

This work addresses hydrogeochemical processes in shallow aquifers, represented by the Quaternary alluvial deposits, from a part of the semi-arid Mexican Highlands through the evaluations of physicochemical parameters as well as the δ18O and δ2H compositions of groundwater. Mifflin diagram separates the Na-bicarbonate, sulphate and mixed groundwater into one group showing interactions with volcanic lithology in the recharge zones and another group interacting with the evaporite rich sedimentary formation. In the Gibbs diagram, the samples with Cl?/(Cl? + HCO3?) < 0.4 showed higher influence of ion exchange and the samples with Cl?/(Cl? + HCO3?) > 0.4 showed higher effects of evaporation. All of them were oversaturated with carbonate minerals (i.e., calcite and dolomite) and unsaturated with evaporites (i.e., gypsum and halite). Evaporation (earlier stage) occurred before the water-rock interactions (later stage). Evolution occurs through three different routes such as up to 7.5‰ enrichment in δ18O caused by the infiltration with a certain delay and subsequently, the water-rock interaction became dominant. Ternary mixing models revealed dominant influence of local recharge (C1) on the water system, contributing 70.4%. Water-rock interaction (C3) with 18% and evaporation (C2) with 11.6% had comparatively less influences. The presence of nitrate (2–60 mg/L) in the groundwater indicated variable degrees of anthropogenic pollution.  相似文献
