On the basis of our analysis of a number of continuous observations made by the monitoring network on Crete, we assume that electrically active clouds are produced in an atmosphere above the sea on the eve of earthquake. These electrically active clouds, which occur at heights of 0.1–10 km, create the conditions for electrical discharges in an atmosphere that may be the source of the very high frequency (VHF) radio-emissions registered on Crete. We further suggest possible mechanisms of thunder electricity generation. We present the model of convection transport in which the first condition in the generation of thunder electricity is an atmosphere with a horizontal gradient of temperature. Base on this model, the occurrence of electrical charges on the surface of the sea and their transportation further upwards to heights of up to 10 km is due to pollution energy allocated within the bottom of the sea as gases and heat injection. The average flux density and power estimations of the VHF precursors were made for the Crete net situation to compare with published VHF data and radio star sources.  相似文献

Observations of the RRAT pulsars J0627+16, J0628+09, J1819?1458, J1826?1419, J1839?01, J1840?1419, J1846?0257, J1848?12, J1850+15, J1854+0306, J1919+06, J1913+1330, J1919+17, J1946+24, and J2033+00 observed earlier on the 64-m Parkes telescope (Australia) and the 300-m Arecibo radio telescope (Puerto Rico) at 1400 MHz were conducted at 111 MHz on the LSA radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy observatory in 2010–2012. A characteristic feature of these pulsars is their sporadic radio emission during rare active epochs and the absence of radio emission during long time intervals. No appreciable flare activity of these pulsars was detected in the Pushchino observations. However, processing the observations using the Fast Folding Algorithm taking into account known information about the pulsar dispersion measures and periods shows that, even during quiescent intervals, the majority of the studied pulsars generate weak radio pulses with a period corresponding to that of the radio emission of the sporadic pulses observed at active epochs. The flux of this radio emission does not exceed 100 mJy at the pulse peak, even at the low frequency of 111 MHz. This considerably hinders detection of the radio emission of RRAT pulsars at high frequencies, since the radio fluxes of RRAT pulsars decreases with increasing frequency.  相似文献

Optical identifications and an analysis of the radio spectra of eight radio sources from a flux-density-complete sample at declinations 4°–6° (B 1950) are presented. The observations were carried out at 4000–9000 Å on the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory and at 0.97–21.7 GHz on the RATAN-600 telescope. The paper describes a method for the radio identification of decameter-wavelength sources based on their continuum spectra and analysis of their coordinates in relatively large error boxes surrounding a specified position on the sky. The distribution of continuum spectra and identifications in other wavelength ranges are analyzed for the resulting radio catalog. Observations of the anomalous X-ray pulsar (AXP) 1E 2259+586 and the AXP candidate 1RXS J1308.6+212708 at 111, 87, and 61 MHz are reported. The observations were carried out on two high-sensitivity radio telescopes of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory. Mean pulse profiles are presented, and the dispersion measures, distances, spectral indices, and integrated radio luminosities of both objects are estimated. Comparison with X-ray data shows large differences in the mean pulse widths and luminosities. The detection of radio emission from these two AXPs, together with other data, suggests the need to revise the radio-emission mechanisms in the magnetar model or the magnetar model itself.  相似文献

The results of observations aimed at determining the spectra of standard radio sources in an “artificial-Moon” absolute flux scale at epoch 2015.5 at wavelengths of 3.5–18 cm are presented. The sample includes sources with small angular sizes, used as flux-density standards for the calibration of various types of antennas, including large synthesized apertures, over a wide range of frequencies. The artificial-Moon flux scale is constructed in a way that makes it the most accurate of existing scales, and the only scale for which source spectra are not deformed. The methods used to construct the articial-Moon flux scale are briefly described. Repeat measurements of the spectra of standard sources, required to preserve the accuracy of the flux scale, were carried out in 2014–2017 (at a mean epoch of 2015.5) on the 32-m telescope of the Svetloe Observatory of the Institute of Applied Astronomy at four wavelengths: 18, 13, 6.2, and 3.5 cm. The characteristic properties of the measurement methods are discussed, and the data obtained are compared with data from earlier epochs.  相似文献

The initial distribution of young radio pulsars, reconstructed from the observed distribution of their spatial velocities distorted by observational selection effects, taking into account the age and spatial distribution of radio pulsars with measured spatial velocities, appears to be bimodal. Most young pulsars are formed with velocities of ~100 km/s. Some fraction of young radio pulsars display an almost flat velocity distribution (dv/dv ≈ const) from 150 to 1000 km/s. Scenario modeling in the absence of an additional (kick) velocity acquired by the young neutron star during its formation in a supernova explosion can reproduce the initial velocity distribution of radio pulsars, but results in a higher fraction of radio pulsars in binaries than is observed. Assuming a random initial Maxwellian kick velocity of ~100 km/s makes it possible to reduce the fraction of radio pulsars in binaries to the observed value (<1%), while leaving the velocity distribution for radio pulsars close to the observed bimodal initial distribution. Such kick velocities are also able to explain the observed distribution of radio pulsars in close binaries in the eccentricity—orbital period plane.  相似文献

An expression for the intensity of synchrotron emission from a radio source (in the optically thin regime) in terms of the energy densities in the magnetic field and particles is obtained, based on a definition of a relativistic electron related to its rest energy. A relationship is obtained between the energy densities in particles Ee and the magnetic field EH for a physical system containing a magnetic field and relativistic electrons in a minimum-energy state. A method for estimating the Doppler factors of the relativistic electrons has been developed. This method does not requires that all radio sources have the same radiation energies (brightness temperatures): it is sufficient that the energies of the magnetic fields and relativistic particles in the source be approximately equal. The method yields Doppler-factor estimates with reasonably good accuracy, even when there are modest deviations from energy equipartition in the radio source,making it applicable to many radio sources. The method is used to estimate the Doppler factor of the radio jet in CTA 21.

We present the results of radio sounding observations probing the inner solar wind near the minimum of the solar-activity cycle, using polarized pulses from PSR B0525+21 and PSR B0531+21 received when the lines of sight toward these pulsars were close to the Sun. The observations were obtained in June 2005 and June 2007 on the Large Phased Array of the Lebedev Physical Institute at 111 MHz. An upper limit for the scattering of giant pulses from PSR B0531+21 due to their passage through the turbulent solar-wind plasma is determined. The arrival-time delays for pulses from PSR B0531+21 are used to derive the radial dependence of the mean density of the circumsolar plasma. The resulting density distribution indicates that the acceleration of fast, high-latitude solar-wind outflows continues to heliocentric distances of 5–10R , where R is the solar radius. The mean plasma density at heliocentric distances of about 5R is 1.4 × 104 cm?3, substantially lower than at the solar-activity maximum. This is associated with the presence of polar coronal holes. The Faraday rotation measure at heliocentric distances of 6–7R is estimated. Deviations of the spatial distribution of the magnetic field from spherical symmetry are comparatively modest in the studied range of heliocentric distances.  相似文献

Measurements of the flux densities of the extended components of seven giant radio galaxies obtained using the RATAN-600 radio telescope at wavelengths of 6.25 and 13 cm are presented. The spectra of components of these radio galaxies are constructed using these new RATAN-600 data together with data from the WENSS, NVSS, and GB6 surveys. The spectral indices in the studied frequency range are calculated, and the need for detailed estimates of the integrated contribution of such objects to the background emission is demonstrated.  相似文献

The influence of aberration on the observational parameters of radio jets and estimates of their physical properties is studied. Aberration distorts the apparent shapes of radio sources. Two identical relativistic jets (whose spectra have maxima) moving approximately along the line of sight could be observed as a compact GPS radio source (jet) and an extended source with a power-law spectrum (counterjet). The apparent flux densities, shapes, and spectra of relativistic radio jets are distorted even when the jets lie in the plane of the sky (across the line of sight). Exact formulas are derived for the estimated physical parameters of relativistic radio jets, taking into account aberration.  相似文献
