In this paper we introduce a new parameter, the shear angle of vector magnetic fields, , to describe the non-potentiality of magnetic fields in active regions, which is defined as the angle between the observed vector magnetic field and its corresponding current-free field. In the case of highly inclined field configurations, this angle is approximately equal to the angular shear, , defined by Hagyardet al. (1984). The angular shear, , can be considered as the projection of the shear angle, , on the photosphere. For the active region studied, the shear angle, , seems to have a better and neater correspondence with flare activity than does . The shear angle, , gives a clearer explanation of the non-potentiality of magnetic fields. It is a better measure of the deviation of the observed magnetic field from a potential field, and is directly related to the magnetic free energy stored in non-potential fields.  相似文献

A magnetopause that separates two regimes of different flow, additional to the separation of a magnetic field from a field-free plasma, gives rise to the formation of asymmetric Stokes profiles. Using a simple two-layer model atmosphere, where one layer comprises a magnetic field, the other being field-free, it is shown by analytical derivation that a wide variety of Stokes V profiles can be produced, having amplitude asymmetries a in the range –a. These include two-humped V profiles, which have two lobes of equal sign. For the most simple models, the asymmetry depends on the ratio of continuum intensity to the Planck radiation intensity of the magnetic layer at the wavelength of the spectral line under consideration, and on the line depth. Two-humped profiles (|a|>1) require the temperature of the magnetic layer to surpass the temperature of the line-core forming region, implying a temperature inversion, so that the V profile is partially in emission. The confrontation of this formation scenario with properties of observed one-lobe profiles of quiet-Sun network regions is inconclusive due to insufficient spatial resolution and lack of a sufficient sample of simultaneously recorded Stokes spectral lines of varying line depths. It seems, however, to be in good agreement with the observed frequent occurrence of abnormal V profiles of the very strong Nai D 2 and D 2 spectral line. A possible observational verification for the present formation scenario of abnormal Stokes V profiles and a novel method of Stokes inversion are discussed.  相似文献

We present a diagnostic method for detecting magnetic field gradients and velocity gradients in sunspots through the analysis of Stokes parameters profiles in magnetoactive lines. On one hand, the method is based on the concept of response functions for the Stokes profiles introduced by Landi Degl'Innocenti and Landi Degl'Innocenti (1977); on the other hand, it takes advantage of the diagnostic content of the residuals between observed Stokes profiles and best-fit Unno-profiles. The analysis of synthesis profiles obtained for the line 6302.502 FeI forming in the Sunspot Sunspot Model (Avrett, 1981) suggests that the method could actually be promising, at least if the dependence of the magnetic field vector on optical depth is sufficiently simple.  相似文献

This article describes the universal birefringent filter (UBF) which will be mounted at Taiwan. The UBF permits observations of solar images, vector magnetic fields and/or line-of-sight velocity fields in any Fraunhofer line in the wavelength region from 4000 to 7000 with half width from 0.05 to 0.14 . We have tested it at ten Fraunhofer lines under a spectral telescope in Huairou Station of Beijing Astronomical Observatory and obtained the passband profiles. The principles of magnetic field and velocity field measurement with the UBF are also described.  相似文献

Some particular solutions of the restricted three-body problem which determine outgoing or incoming orbits near libration points are considered. The solutions are obtained in the form of absolutely convergent Liapounov series. It is proved that these asymptotic solutions are plane curves situated in the orbital plane of the primaries. Each family of asymptotic solutions for every collinear point consists of four solutions which are the separatrices of a saddle point. The angles of inclination of the separatrices are determined.

In this paper, we analyse Stokes parameters I,Q,U of the Fei 5324.19Å line, calculated with radiative transfer equations in a solar model atmosphere with a magnetic field, and the influence of magneto-optical effects on the measurement of transverse magnetic field. It is found that the measurement of azimuthal angles of the transverse field is obviously disturbed by the magneto-optical effects. We compare with the observational Stokes images Q and U at different wavelengths from the center to the wing of the Fei 5324.19Å line obtained at Huairou Solar Observing Station of Beijing Astronomical Observatory to confirm azimuthal angles of the transverse field, because the insignificant influence of magneto-optical effects in the far wing of the line was found by the theoretical analysis. The accuracy of azimuthal angles of the transverse field measured near the Fei 5324.19Å line center has been estimated.  相似文献

Spectro-polarimetric observations of active regions were carried out in the spectral lines of Sii 10827.1 Å and Hei 10830 Å to study the three-dimensional magnetic field structure and associated plasma flow properties. Comparison of Sii and Hei magnetograms with the potential field model shows that a large fraction of the magnetic field is consistent with the potential field structure, by assuming that the height difference between the origin of the two lines is about 1200 km. The slope of the scatter plot between Sii and Hei magnetograms is 0.5, 0.76 in an emerging flux and a larger active region, respectively. These values are lower than the scatter plot slopes obtained from Kitt Peak photospheric and chromospheric magnetograms, in which case the corresponding values are 0.83 and 0.9, respectively. Considering the height difference between these two sets of chromospheric magnetograms, this implies that the magnetic field spreads out faster near the transition region heights. Dopplergrams obtained by determining the centroid of the asymmetric line profiles show that, in case of emerging flux region, the chromospheric upflow regions are located in the magnetic neutral line areas.  相似文献

The profiles of six photospheric absorption spectral lines (Fei 5250 Å, Fei 5324 Å, Fei 5576 Å, Cai 5590 Å, Cai 6103 Å and Fei 6165 Å), measured in the kernel of a 2N solar flare and in a quiet-Sun area, were compared. The observations were carried out with an echelle spectrograph of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. It was shown that, compared to the quiet-Sun profiles, the flare profiles are shallower in the line core and are less steep in the wings. Therefore, measurements of the longitudinal magnetic field made with a magnetograph system which uses the Cai 6103 Å  spectral line, can be underestimated by 18–25% in areas of bright H ribbons of a moderate solar flare. Modeling of the solar photosphere performed by using a synthesis method showed that, in a solar flare, the enhanced core emission seems to be related to heating of the photosphere by the flare, whereas the decrease of the slope of the wings was presumably caused by the inhomogeneity of the photospheric magnetic field.  相似文献

The stability of the stationary motions of a spin-stabilized satellite is investigated using the Lyapunov second method. The nutating motion of the satellite is damped by a special-purpose device. In case the damping device consists of several independent dampers with one degree of freedom little affecting the satellite motion, their optimal parameters ensuring a maximal rate of damping the nutating motion of the satellite are determined with the hypothesis of resonance adjustmentsof the dampers. The Krylov-Bogolyubov method is used to investigate the influence of external moments on the motion of the satellite rotation axis.

We describe improvements to the calibration and analysis of Fe i 6302.5 Å data from the San Fernando Observatory Video Spectra-Spectroheliograph (SFO-VSSHG). A more effective flat field is generated and the scales of the simultaneous Stokes measurements are made equal. Analysis of Stokes profiles is carried out using a moments technique but applied to nonlinear least-squares fits to the data. Typical spectropolarimetric results from the old and new methods are compared and discussed. Finally, we present asymmetry maps, a zero-crossing map, and a relative-split map extracted from the fits to the Stokes V profiles.  相似文献

A model of the large-scale magnetic field structure above the photosphere uses a Green's function solution to Maxwell's equations. Sources for the magnetic field are related to the observed photospheric field and to the field computed at a source surface about 0.6 R above the photosphere. The large-scale interplanetary magnetic field sector pattern is related to the field pattern at this source surface. The model generates magnetic field patterns on the source surface that compare well with interplanetary observations. Comparisons are shown with observations of the interplanetary magnetic field obtained by the IMP-3 satellite.  相似文献

We compare the results of two distinct methods for deriving photospheric vector magnetic fields from the Zeeman effect as observed in the Fe I line at 6302.5 A at high spectral resolution (45 mA.). One method ignores magneto-optical effects but allows for an absolute determination of B from the integral properties of the Stokes profiles, under the assumption of weak field strength. The other method is an iterative least-squares fitting technique developed by Lites and Skumanich which fits the observed Stokes profiles to the profiles predicted by the Unno-Rachkovsky solution to the radiative transfer equation. We find empirically that for sunspot fields above 1500 gauss the two methods agree in derived azimuthal and inclination angles to within ± 20 degs., Furthermore, for such fields, the estimate of the line of sight field and the transverse field derived using the two methods agree to within ± 500 gauss. In weak field strength regions the integral method can be used with little error and computational load in the estimation of the line of sight field, the transverse field and the inclination angle but the disagreement in derived azimuthal angle is considerable ( ± 90 degs.).  相似文献

A quantum mechanical treatment of an electron plasma in a constant and homogeneous magnetic field is considered, with the aim of (a) defining the range of validity of the magnetoionic theory (b) studying the deviations from this theory, in applications involving high densities, and intense magnetic field. While treating the magnetic field exactly, a perturbation approach in the photon field is used to derive general expressions for the dielectric tensor . The properties of are explored in the various limits. Numerical estimates on the range of applicability of the magnetoionic theory are given for the case of the one-dimensional electron gas, where only the lowest Landau level is occupied.  相似文献

Material motions on the solar surface have been deduced from the wavelength shift of Fe i 6302.5 Å, measured over the umbra and inner penumbra of a spot for which the magnetic field configuration has already been established with some confidence. The two vector fields are considered together in detail and the results support the convective roll sunspot model (Spruit, Galloway). For the magnetic field regions, both material flow along the field lines and field line motions are derived. A small upward motion only is deduced for the field free regions.  相似文献

Calculations of the rotation parameters at initial stage of evolution on the basis of the model suggested by Jones and published observational data of NP 0532 were made. It is shown that the observed dependence of the angular velocity of NP 0532 and its first derivative with respect to time can be explained by an increase of the angle between the magnetic moment and the rotation axis. The time variation of rotation parameters essentially depends on the value and time variation of the viscosity of the star. In spite of the fact that the observational data are not extensive enough, it is possible to conclude that initial rotation frequency of NP 0532 did not exceed essentially 50 Hz.

The diffusion of charged particles in a static turbulent magnetic field, which is superimposed on a constant magnetic fieldB 0 k, is considered. Previous calculations of the particle flux in a direction perpendicular tok have related the fluxS to the particle number densityf byS = – (f) where is found from the power spectrum of the turbulent magnetic field. It is shown that this formula is inconsistent with the notion, developed by Jokipii and Parker (1969), that the perpendicular particle flux primarily arises because of random-walking of magnetic field lines across the directionk. For a simple example of a turbulent magnetic field it is shown that the above expression forS is incorrect; the particle fluxS is recalculated and a new relationship betweenS andf is found. This new expression forS is shown to be consistent with particle diffusion across the directionk being due to random-walking of the magnetic field lines.  相似文献
