This paper reviews B.I. Kogan's “Economic Essays on Rare Earths,” which describes the physical-chemical properties of rare earth elements, their industrial application and uses, the geologic occurrence in major deposits throughout the world and the rare earth industry of various countries. A continuous exchange of ideas among people involved in studies and investigations could be highly beneficial in the setting up of reliable criteria for risk mitigation.
