The TU Gem star has long been known as a peculiar carbon giant of the Galaxy halo, but its classification as a CH star is still debated. We estimated the TU Gem atmosphere parameters through modeling its spectrum and comparision one with the spectra of the star observed in two wide spectral ranges (λλ 400–720 nm and λλ 900–2440 nm). The low-dispersion optical TU Gem spectrum obtained by Barnbaum et al. (2006) (R ~ 600) and the infrared spectrum presented by Tanaka et al. (2007) (R ~ 2600) were used in the analysis. The model atmospheres were calculated using the SAM12 software (Pavlenko, 2003). Since the metallicity ([Fe/H]) value could not be determined conclusively based on our spectral data, only the TU Gem effective temperature T eff (that depends weakly on metallicity) was defined with certainty (T eff = 3000 ± 100 K). We determined the C/O, [C/Fe], and [N/Fe] values for the ?2.0 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ 0.0 range with a step of Δ[Fe/H] = 0.5. Our estimate of [C/Fe] (0.63–0.67 at [Fe/H] = ?1.0) is higher than the corresponding estimate ([C/Fe] = 0.21 at [Fe/H] = ?1.1) given in (Kipper et al., 1996), while the estimates for [N/Fe] at the stated metallicities agree with each other: [N/Fe] = +1.0. This brings TU Gem closer to CH stars, but a detailed analysis of the chemical composition of the TU Gem atmosphere is required to reach a definite conclusion.  相似文献

Five-color (λλ = 0.36?0.85 μm) and thermal infrared (λ = 22.5 μm) photometric observations of the unusual asteroid 2060 Chiron were made. Between 0.36 and 0.85 μm, Chiron's reflectance spectrum is similar to those of C-class asteroids as well as Saturn's satellite Phoebe. However, the thermal IR measurements imply an albedo≥0.05 (i.e., a diameter ≤250 kmat the level 2σ level) that is probably higher than those of C-class asteroids or Phoebe.  相似文献

利用从斯隆数字巡天(Sloan Digital Sky Survey,简称SDSS)第4次释放的光谱数据中选取的10~5个发射线星系样本,研究了[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα流量比与星系尘埃消光、气体电离态和金属丰度的关系.发现尘埃消光改正对[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα谱线流量比影响显著,消光改正前、后的[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα谱线流量比的中值分别为0.48和0.89;尘埃消光改正后,F([O_Ⅱ]λ3727)-F(Hα)的弥散显著减小.贫金属星系的[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα谱线流量比随星系气体的电离度增高而减小,而富金属星系不存在这种关系.另外,[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα流量比与星系金属丰度相关.当12+lg(O/H)8.5时,星系[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα流量比随金属丰度增加而下降;12+lg(O/H)8.5的星系,谱线流量比与金属丰度正相关.最后,利用气体电离度参数和星系的金属丰度,给出了计算不同类型星系[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα流量比的公式.LAMOST望远镜将观测到大量红移z0.4的星系光谱,利用该公式可以给出星系的[O_Ⅱ]λ3727/Hα流量比,从而可以利用[O_Ⅱ]λ3727谱线流量计算z0.4星系的恒星形成率.  相似文献

Results are presented of observations of the facula area near the solar disc center. Observations were performed at the German Vacuum Tower Telescope of the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife) with the simultaneous use of two instruments, i.e., TESOS in the Ba IIλ 455.4 nm line to measure intensity variations in the photosphere and, at the same time, TIP in the Fe I (λλ 1564.3–1565.8 nm) line to measure Stokes parameters. Using the Fourier filtering technique, we separated the convective and wave components of the intensity field. Stokes parameters Fe I λ 1564.8 nm and λ 1565.2 nm were inverted by the SIR inversion code to estimate the magnetic field strength. We found that the contrast of intergranular lines of the facula in the continuum is almost independent of the magnetic field strengh (in the range from 30 to 160 mT). This result casts doubt on the assertion that solar faculae are a cluster of magnetic flux tubes. Most likely, due to the decrease of transparency of the matter in a strong (approximately 1 kilogauss) magnetic field, we can see the hot walls of granules.  相似文献

星系中心黑洞质量和核球恒星速度弥散度的紧密关系揭示出准确测量恒星速度弥散度对测定星系中心黑洞质量尤为重要.文中提供了一种利用SDSS(Sloan Digital SkySurvey)光谱测定速度弥散度及其不确定性的方法.通过对像素空间包含显著特征吸收线的4个不同谱区的拟合,得到准确测量恒星速度弥散度σ的光谱区域.文中4个拟合波段主要包含的吸收线为CaⅡK,MgⅠb三重线(波长5167.5,5172.7,5183.6(?))和CaT(CaⅡ三重线,波长8498.0,8542.1,8662.1(?)).不同区域结果表明,MgⅠb区由于受到铁族发射线影响,拟合的σ值偏低;CaⅡK线区谱线强度很弱,易受限于最小二乘法搜索算法;CaT+CaⅡK联合区得出的速度弥散度和只计算CaT区域的结果相当.利用该方法,测试了一个红移小于0.05的赛弗特星系样本,发现CaT区是测速度弥散度的最佳谱区.  相似文献

I present an evolutionary stellar population synthesis model which predicts spectral energy distributions, SEDs, for simple old single-metallicity stellar populations, SSPs, in the wavelength intervalsλλ 3856–4476Å and 4795–5465Å at a resolution of FWHM$equals;1.8 $Aring;, on the basis of an extensive empirical spectral library composed of ≈550 stars. The synthesized model spectra can be used to analyse observed galaxy spectra in a very easy and flexible way, allowing us to adapt the theoretical predictions to the characteristics of the data instead of proceeding in the opposite direction (as we must do, for example, when transforming observational data to a particular system of indices at specific resolution/s, such as Lick, which is heavily instrument-dependent).The SSP spectra, with flux-calibrated response curves, can be smoothed to the same resolution as that of the data or to galaxy internal velocity dispersion, allowing us to analyse the observed spectra in their own system, and with no need to correct the index measurements for velocity dispersion. Thus, we are able to use all the information contained in the data, at their higher spectral resolution. Excellent fits are obtained for various metal-rich globular clusters at relatively high resolution, and well known spectral peculiarities such as the strong CN absorption features are detected. When applied to early-type galaxies the model also shows its potential for studying element ratios such as the Mg/Fe overabundance. The model spectra provided robust age indicators for old stellar populations which do not depend on metallicity and therefore have a great potential for solving the age–metallicitydegeneracy of galaxy spectra.  相似文献

The modified distribution function of dust particles, f(γ), which can be determined from tail brightness profiles on the basis of mechanical theory, is discussed with special regard to its reliability and accuracy. Physical significance of f(γ) is also discussed in terms of dust model parameters, and it is shown that f(γ), if treated carefully, will serve as an effective tool in studying cometary dust. Four isophotes of Comet Arend-Roland, 1957 III, in the orange-red light (λλ 0.53–0.68 micron) obtained by Ceplecha (1958), are analysed by the numerical method described in Paper I (KIMURA and LIU 1975) with some improvements and higher approximations. The distribution f(γ) thus obtained shows a bimodal character with peaks at γ = 0.10 and 0.010 with a relative height ratio of 1 to 0.6. Dust emission rate, which is assumed to follow the inverse square law of heliocentric distance, is estimated to give PdCsca = (1.3±0.5) × 109 cm2/sec, where Pd is the rate of particle emission at 1 a.u. and the Csca is a mean effective cross section of particles for light scattering including the phase effect (the scattering angles of present interest range from about 80 to 100 degrees).  相似文献

Making use of quasar spectra from LAMOST,in the spectral data around the Mg Ⅱ emission lines,research described in this paper has detected 217 Mg Ⅱ narrow absorption lines(NALs) with W_r ~(λ2796)≥3σ_w and W_r~(λ2803)≥ 2σ_w in a redshift range of 0.4554≤z_(abs)≤2.1110.For quasars observed by both LAMOST and SDSS,we find that 135 Mg Ⅱ NALs were obviously observed in the LAMOST spectra,347 Mg Ⅱ NALs were were apparent in the SDSS spectra,and 132 Mg Ⅱ NALs were clearly present in both the SDSS and LAMOST spectra.The missed Mg Ⅱ NALs are likely ascribed to low signal-to-noise ratios of corresponding spectra.Among the Mg 11 NALs obviously observed in SDSS or LAMOST spectra,eight Mg 11 NALs were significantly changed with |ΔW_r ~(λ2796)|≥3σ_w in time intervals of ΔMJD/(1+z_(em))=359-2819 d.  相似文献

太阳米波和分米波的射电观测是对太阳爆发过程中耀斑和日冕物质抛射现象研究的重要观测手段。米波和分米波的太阳射电暴以相干等离子体辐射为主导,表现出在时域和频域的多样性和复杂性。其中Ⅱ型射电暴是激波在日冕中运动引起电磁波辐射的结果。在Ⅱ型射电暴方面,首先对米波Ⅱ型射电暴的激波起源问题和米波Ⅱ型射电暴与行星际Ⅱ型射电暴的关系问题进行了讨论;其次,结合Lin-Forbes太阳爆发理论模型对Ⅱ型射电暴的开始时间和起始频率进行讨论:最后,对Ⅱ型射电暴信号中包含的两种射电精细结构,Herringbone结构(即鱼骨结构)和与激波相关的Ⅲ型射电暴也分别进行了讨论。Ⅲ型射电暴是高能电子束在日冕中运动产生电磁波辐射的结果。在Ⅲ型射电暴方面,首先介绍了利用Ⅲ型射电暴对日冕磁场位形和等离子体密度进行研究的具体方法;其次,对利用Ⅲ型射电暴测量日冕温度的最新理论进行介绍;最后,对Ⅲ型射电暴和Ⅱ型射电暴的时间关系、Ⅲ型射电暴和粒子加速以及Ⅲ型射电暴信号中包含的射电精细结构(例如斑马纹、纤维爆发及尖峰辐射)等问题进行讨论并介绍有关的最新研究进展。  相似文献

Since Sep.2018,LAMOST has started the medium-resolution(R~7500) spectral survey(MRS).We proposed the spectral survey of Galactic nebulae,including H Ⅱ regions,HH objects,supernova remnants,planetary nebulae and the special stars with MRS(LAMOST MRS-N).LAMOST MRS-N covers about 1700 square degrees of the northern Galactic plane within 40°l215° and-5° b5°.In this 5-year survey,we plan to observe about 500 thousand nebulae spectra.According to the commissioning observations,the nebulae spectra can provide precise radial velocity with uncertainty less than 1 km s~(-1).These high-precision spectral data are of great significance to our understanding of star formation and evolution.  相似文献

The abundances of the light (Na to Ca) elements in disc and halo stars are reviewed. New analyses are emphasized. Elements considered are the α-nuclei (Mg, Si, and Ca), and the odd-even nuclei (Na and Al, also25Mg and26Mg). The α-nuclei are overabundant (relative to Fe) in the old disc and halo stars. Halo stars ([Fe/H] < —1.2) have [α/Fe] ∼0.3 with extreme halo ([Fe/H] ≲ −2.0) stars showing possibly higher overabundances. The scatter in [α/Fe] at a given [Fe/H] is small. To within the observational errors, the abundance patterns for Mg, Si, and Ca are identical. For disc stars, the Na and Al abundances relative to Mg are almost independent of the [Fe/H]. Halo stars ([Fe/H] < −1) show [Na/Mg] < 0 and [AI/Mg] < 0, but the form of the mean relation and the scatter about the relation between [odd-even/Mg] and [Fe/H] remains uncertain.  相似文献

New measurements are reported of the [OII] brightness ratio across the Orion Nebula. These are compared to all previous measurements of this ratio. We discuss results on the oxygen abundance in a sample of 23 metal-poor (?3.0≤ [Fe/H] ≤ ?0.3) unevolved stars and one giant. High resolutionspectroscopy of OH lines in the near UV allowed us to trace the early evolution of oxygenversus metallicity. Contrary to previous expectations, we find that oxygen abundances derived from these low excitation lines agree well withthose derived from the high excitation lines of the OI IR triplet and from the [OI] λ 6300 Å line. Our new oxygen abundances show a smooth extension of previouslyknown trends of [O/Fe] versus [Fe/H] in disk stars to much lower metallicities, with a slope of ?0.31± 0.11. The [O/Fe] ratio increasesfrom 0.6 to 1 between [Fe/H] =?1.5 and ?3.0. Comparison with oxygen abundances in giant stars of the same metallicity imply that the lattermay have suffered a process of oxygen depletion. We briefly discussthe impact of these results on the yields of Type II SNe in the early Galaxy and on the age of globular clusters.  相似文献

Spectrographic data on the Io torus from 15 nights of observations spread over a 4-month period in 1981 are presented here. The [SII] λλ6716, 6731; [SII] λλ4069, 4076; [OII] λλ3726, 3729; and [SIII] λ3722 lines were simultaneously measured on each spectrogram. An east-west asymmetry was observed in the optical emissions, showing larger western intensities and a more diffuse and radially extensive nebula to the east. Two configurations of [SII] longitudinal asymmetry that were stable over at least 4 days were observed. The magnetic longitudes of ~ 180 and 300° are shown to be of particular interest. Longitudinal structure was not detected in either the [OII] intensity or the plasma density as measured by the [OII] and [SII] doublet ratios. Errors in the line ratios could mask density variations as large as a factor of ~ 1.5. A radial variation in the ratio of OII/SII was observed, with the ratio being largest near Io's orbit. Monthly variabilitywas detected in both the intensity and density of the tours. The [SII] line ratios indicated an increase in ne over the 4-month period that was accompanied by increased intensities. For single measurements, no correlation between the [SII] intensities and the [SII] λ6716/λ6731 line ratio was detected, but this could be a result of errors in the line ratio determinations. Extremely low values of this same ratio were measured. These appear to indicate errors in the presently accepted [SII] transition probabilities. These [SII] line ratios indicate that very-high-density regions are present in the torus, and it is shown how these regions could have significantly influenced these measurements.  相似文献

In this paper we construct and analyze the uniform non-LTE distributions of the aluminium ([Al/Fe]-[Fe/H]) and sodium ([Na/Fe]-[Fe/H]) abundances in the sample of 160 stars of the disk and halo of our Galaxy with metallicities within ?4.07 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ 0.28. The values of metallicity [Fe/H] and microturbulence velocity ξ turb indices are determined from the equivalent widths of the Fe II and Fe I lines. We estimated the sodium and aluminium abundances using a 21-level model of the Na I atom and a 39-level model of the Al I atom. The resulting LTE distributions of [Na/Fe]-[Fe/H] and [Al/Fe]-[Fe/H] do not correspond to the theoretical predictions of their evolution, suggesting that a non-LTE approach has to be applied to determine the abundances of these elements. The account of non-LTE corrections reduces by 0.05–0.15 dex the abundances of sodium, determined from the subordinate lines in the stars of the disk with [Fe/H] ≥ ?2.0, and by 0.05–0.70 dex (with a strong dependence on metallicity) the abundances of [Na/Fe], determined by the resonance lines in the stars of the halo with [Fe/H] ≤ ?2.0. The non-LTE corrections of the aluminium abundances are strictly positive and increase from 0.0–0.1 dex for the stars of the thin disk (?0.7 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ 0.28) to 0.03–0.3 dex for the stars of the thick disk (?1.5 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ ?0.7) and 0.06–1.2 dex for the stars of the halo ([Fe/H] ≤ ?2.0). The resulting non-LTE abundances of [Na/Fe] reveal a scatter of individual values up to Δ[Na/Fe] = 0.4 dex for the stars of close metallicities. The observed non-LTE distribution of [Na/Fe]-[Fe/H] within 0.15 dex coincides with the theoretical distributions of Samland and Kobayashi et al. The non-LTE aluminium abundances are characterized by a weak scatter of values (up to Δ[Al/Fe] = 0.2 dex) for the stars of all metallicities. The constructed non-LTE distribution of [Al/Fe]-[Fe/H] is in a satisfactory agreement to 0.2 dex with the theoretical data of Kobayashi et al., but strongly differs (up to 0.4 dex) from the predictions of Samland.  相似文献
