Decametric survey of discrete sources in the northern sky

This paper presents results and describes the improved data processing algorithm of the low frequency sky survey of discrete sources carried out with the UTR-2 radio telescope. The measurements were conducted within the frequency range 10 to25 MHz. Coordinates and flux densities of the sources detected were obtained. Identification with sources from the 4C survey has been done. The resulting catalogue contains parameter estimates for 483 sources on a set of frequencies within the UTR-2 range. The study of scattering effects by VLBI observations of PSR 0329+54 with HALCA at 1650 MHz

Application of Theorems on Null-Geodesics on The Solar Limb Effect

A direct and more general calculation of the limb effect connected with red-shift observations is obtained. Size and Physical Properties of the Comet Hale–Bopp (C/1995 O1) Nucleus

This article uses fractal and correlation analysis of solar radio emission for determining the solar coronal rotation. IPS Observations at Miyun Station, BAO

Decametric sounding of near Earth plasma: correlation and fractal analysis of scintillation data

Solar wind observations by means of bi-static decametric radar SURA-WIND allow studying a fine structure of solar wind plasma irregularities with resolution up to 40 km. Spectral analysis and Hurst exponents method were applied to analyze the scintillation of radio signal transmitted through turbulent layers of Ionosphere and Solar wind plasma. Modelling, simulation and testing of an optomechatronics design of a large radio telescope

An innovative design for a feed support structure for the next generation large radio telescope, based on the idea of integrating mechanical, electronic and optical technologies(OPTOMECHATRONICS), is considered. Theoretical analyses and simulations are carried out. A 5 m experimental model is built to demonstrate the idea. Australian research effort for the SKA

The next generation radio telescope being planned is the Square Kilometer Array (SKA): an international project which is currently in the research and development phase. Australia is one of the partner countries in the SKA consortium; here I describe some of the SKA research being undertaken in Australia. PKS2250-41 and the Role of Jet Cloud Interactions in Powerful Radio Galaxies

We have studied the effects of the interaction between the radio jet and the ambient gas in the powerful radio galaxy PKS2250-41 (z = 0.31). Our results show that the gas has been accelerated, compressed, heated and collisionally ionized by the shock. This study helps us to understand the processes which determine the observed properties of many high redshift radio galaxies. The Population of KPC-Scale Flat-Spectrum Radio Sources

In this paper we present a subsample of 55 flat-spectrum radio sources dominated by (∼ 100 mas) kpc-scale structure, selected from a parent sample of 1665 VLA sources. Turbulence and Magnetic Fields in Clusters of Galaxies

We consider turbulence generated by galaxies moving transonically through the intracluster gas. We show that neither the gravitational drag nor the gas stripping from the galaxies are able, by themselves, to generate turbulence at a level required to feed the dynamo in the intracluster gas. Determining Field Correlations Produced by Stars from the Study of Spectral Changes in Double Slit Experiment

Experiments are performed to determine the coherence properties of wave fields, produced by the broadband stellar sources on the earth surface, from the study of spectral changes produced on interference in the Young's double slit experiment. The spectral degree of coherence obtained experimentally in this study for four bright stars in the wavelength range from 325 nm to 660 nm is in close agreement with the value that is expected theoretically from the known angular diameter of the stars. It is shown that the spectral degree of coherence obtained experimentally by this spectral interferometric technique could be used to determine the angular diameter of stars.
