We describe the wave propagation through an irregularly layered, elastic medium for incoming body (SH) and surface (Love) waves. As a result of irregular geometry, each layer generates additional waves by scattering and diffraction. These additional waves modify the input motions and locally may lead to larger motions and concentrations of stresses, strains, and rotations on or below the ground surface. For engineering design, and in particular for analyses of soil-structure interaction, it is important to understand the nature and the consequences of such motions.The scattering and diffraction of Love and SH waves by irregular layers will be investigated by the weighted-residuals method. The scattered and diffracted mode shapes and spectral amplification characteristics at different frequencies will be examined and discussed.  相似文献

We study site effects using 520 weak motion earthquake records from a vertical array in Aegion, Greece. The array is inside a basin, has four stations in soil, and one in bedrock (178 m depth). The site is marked by high seismicity and complex surface geology. We first use the records to establish the downhole accelerometer orientations and their evolution with time. Then we estimate site effects using empirical spectral ratios with and without a reference site (standard and horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio). We find significant site amplification which cannot be accounted for by 1D model predictions, along with a significant difference in the amplification level between the two horizontal components. These are indications of 2D effects, namely surface waves generated at the basin edge. The difference in amplification between the horizontal components is maximised when these are rotated with respect to the orientation of the basin edge. The strongest amplification takes place in the direction parallel to the basin edge (SH, or out-of-plane motion), and is up to 2 times higher than in the perpendicular direction (SV, or in-plane motion). This directional effect on the amplification is corroborated by numerical 2D modelling using incident SH and SV waves, with the former possibly generating strong Love waves. In the records, the directionality is clear for windows containing the largest amplitudes of the records (S waves and strong surface waves), while it tends to vanish for coda-wave windows. This directionality is also observed when using response spectral ratios rather than Fourier ratios. We compute soil-to-rock amplification factors for peak ground acceleration (PGA) and find it is significantly higher than what is predicted by current design codes. We attribute this difference to the basin edge amplification, linear soil behaviour, and to the inability of simple scalar values like PGA to describe complex amplification effects. Finally, we analyse the earthquake records at a surface station near the slope crest and do not observe significant topographic amplification.  相似文献

基于一种高精度间接边界元法(IBEM), 实现了沉积盆地三维地震响应的频域、 时域精细求解, 并以半空间中椭球形沉积盆地对平面P波和SV波的散射为例, 着重探讨了入射角度、 入射波型、 入射频率、 盆地长宽比和深宽比对沉积盆地地震动放大效应的影响规律. 结果表明: 盆地形状对地震波的放大效应和空间分布状态具有显著影响, 且具体规律受控于入射波频段. ① 随着盆地深度增大, 盆地边缘面波发育更为充分, 在较宽频段内均会出现显著的地震动放大效应, 且深盆地的放大区域集中于盆地中部. ② 圆形盆地对地震波的汇聚效应最为显著, 而狭长盆地对地震波的汇聚作用相对较弱, 高频情况下可在盆地内部形成多个聚焦区域. ③ 不同波型入射下, 盆地对地震动放大效应的机制有所差异: P波入射下, 竖向位移放大主要是由于盆地边缘面波由四周向中部汇聚所致; SV波入射下, 边缘面波汇聚效应相对较弱, 而当盆地较深时, 底部透射体波和边缘面波易形成同相干涉从而显著放大地震动. 按盆地内外介质波速比为1/2, P波和SV波垂直入射下频域最大放大倍数分别为25和15, 时域放大倍数约为4.0和3.7(雷克子波). ④ 低频波入射下, 位移从盆地中部向边缘逐渐减小, 且浅层沉积盆地对地表位移幅值的放大作用不明显. ⑤ P波和SV波的入射角度对盆地地震动放大幅值及空间分布特征也具有显著影响.   相似文献

— Seismic responses of weathered and non-weathered ridge models were simulated to study the ridge effects on the ground motion characteristics. The range of ridge slope from 19.98° to 45° was considered to produce a possible set of generalized results. 2.5-D modeling based on parsimonious staggered grid approximation of elastodynamic wave equations was adopted in simulations. Computed results reveal an increase of amplitude of incoming waves with both elevation and the slope of the ridge. Further, the characteristics of surface waves are highly ridge slope dependent. The analysis of responses of weathered and non-weathered ridge models reveals that ridge has caused a strong generation of surface waves near its top. The surface waves are not dominating on the top of the ridge but at some lower elevation. The increase of weathering of ridge further intensified the ridge effect. Analysis in frequency domain, based on spectral ratio method, does not indicate any pattern in the spectral amplification factor and is very much sensitive to slope, source focal mechanism and location. However, on an average there is a continuous decrease of amplification with slope in the vertical component and increase in the transverse component, and it is increasing in the radial component up to slope =38.0° and thereafter decreasing.  相似文献

地表地形常引起地震动的局部放大,这是由于地震波传播至局部地形时产生了散射现象.本文利用波函数展开方法和区域匹配技术,提出了含峭壁V形峡谷对平面SH波散射问题的解析解,并进行了退化验证.通过频域内的参数分析,揭示了峭壁深度、入射波频率和角度等因素对峡谷场地地面运动的影响规律,发现上部峭壁会增强峡谷对地震动的地形放大效应.研究结果不仅为数值方法提供了验证基准,还可为含峭壁峡谷周边建筑物的抗震设计提供顺河向地震动输入.

本文采用隐式动力有限单元法研究了不同的边坡角度和边坡高度对地形放大效应的影响,并以位移峰值放大系数为衡量地震动放大效应的标准,计算了不同边坡角度和边坡高度条件下的地震响应,在此基础上对模型关键监测点的输出波形以及位移峰值放大系数的变化趋势进行了分析,获得了不同监测点处的地震动时程曲线,揭示了坡角和坡高对单体边坡地震动放大效应的定量作用规律。数值结果表明,相同高度处坡面监测点的水平向位移峰值放大系数大于坡内监测点的,地形放大效应在水平方向具有趋表效应。由于坡面存在入射波和反射波的叠加,因此竖直向位移峰值放大系数的最大值出现在坡体内部。   相似文献

柴达木盆地是青藏高原东北部大型断陷山间盆地,该地区的流动观测记录了2008年11月10日发生于大柴旦附近的M_W6.3地震。和附近的基岩上的记录相比,盆地内部的记录显示出非常显著的地面运动放大效应,表现为峰值速度的增大、持续时间的延长,其呈现出长持续时间的后续震相。傅里叶频谱分析表明盆地内部显著的后续震相的频率和直达波相比较低,地面质点运动轨迹图显示后续震相为面波运动特征。为了解释地面运动的差异,构建二维模型,通过交错网格高阶有限差分方法计算了地震波在盆地内部的传播过程,结果显示盆地内部低速层的存在造成直达波的放大以及多次反射与转换,盆地边缘结构造成的波的相干叠加产生了强烈的次生面波,其低频、大振幅、长持续时间的特征是盆地内部地面运动放大的主要原因。  相似文献

Three-dimensional scattering of seismic waves by a cylindrical alluvial valley embedded in a layered half-space is investigated by using the combination of the boundary integral representation and the finite element method. The surface displacements due to incident plane harmonic body waves (P, SV and SH) propagating at an arbitrary angle to the axis of the cylindrical valley are evaluated numerically for two semi-elliptical alluvial valleys. The presence of the layer is found to have a strong effect on the amplification of the surface displacements in some cases. The three-dimensional motion seems to be quite critical and may cause large amplification. The surface ground motion becomes significant when compared with corresponding free-field motion as the wavelengths become comparable to the characteristic length of the valley. The maximum amplification always occurs atop the valley. Numerical results show that the amplitude and the amplification pattern of the surface displacement strongly depend upon the frequency, the angle and the type of the incident waves.  相似文献

An extensive investigation has been made into the interaction between topographic amplification and soil layer amplification of seismic ground motion. This interaction is suggested in the literature as a possible cause for the differences between topographic amplification magnitudes observed in field studies and those obtained from numerical analysis. To investigate this issue a numerical finite element (FE) parametric study was performed for a slope in a homogeneous linear elastic soil layer over rigid bedrock subjected to vertically propagating in-plane shear waves (Sv waves). Analyses were carried out using two types of artificial time history as input excitation, one mimicking the build-up and decay of shaking in the time histories of real earthquake events, and the other to investigate the steady-state response. The study identified topographic effects as seen in previous numerical studies such as modification of the free-field horizontal motion, generation of parasitic vertical motion, zones of alternating amplification and de-amplification on the ground surface, and dependence of topographic amplification on the frequency of the input motion. For the considered cases, topographic amplification and soil layer amplification effects were found to interact, suggesting that in order to accurately predict topographic effects, the two effects should not be always handled separately.  相似文献

采用解析方法,通过圆弧状沉积盆地与同样参数的软土均匀单覆盖层的对比,研究沉积盆地对平面SH波二维散射效应和其出平面地表运动。数值对比结果表明:(1)波垂直入射时盆地中央地表位移幅值反应,其随频率变化形式与软土单覆盖层的地表运动有较强的对应性,且此时单覆盖层地表位移幅值为其下降;(2)盆地的二维散射效应特点显著波的汇聚作用使盆地中的地表运动显著放大,总体上较软土单覆盖层的地表位移幅值要大,其频域内的最大反应则明显大于单覆盖层情况,但最大反应在盆地表面出现的位置依赖于入射波角度、盆地深宽比和盆地的软硬程度;(3)沉积盆地中地表位移运动有强烈扭转效应,且随盆地变软和入射波频率增高而增强。  相似文献

对于埋置于海床表层的沉管隧道,波浪作用是不容忽视的常遇海洋环境因素。不同于陆域地下结构,海底沉管隧道地震反应分析和安全评价应考虑波浪的联合作用。基于Biot完全耦合的动力有效应力分析方法,对波浪与地震联合作用下砂质海床-隧道之间的动力相互作用特性进行研究。研究结果表明,相较仅有地震作用,波浪荷载加速了沉管隧道周围海床地震残余超孔压的增长和渐进液化进程,增大了沉管隧道上浮量;波浪与地震联合作用对应的β谱谱值更大,且卓越反应周期向长周期偏移;波浪对海床地震动的影响深度有限,仅对海床地表以下15 m范围内的地震动有放大效应。忽略波浪环境作用对砂质海床场地设计地震动参数的影响,对于沉管隧道抗震设计是偏于不安全的。  相似文献

We present examples of a controlled numerical experiment that contribute towards understanding of the physical phenomena that lead to the reduction of coherency of strong earthquake ground motion. We show examples for separation distance of 100 m between the two points on the ground surface, which is in the range of engineering interest. Our examples illustrate the consequences of:(a) standing waves that result from interference of the incident and reflected waves from a near vertical contrast in material properties,(b) standing waves within a concave inhomogeneity(a semi-circular valley in our examples), and(c) smaller motions in the diffraction zone, behind the inhomogeneity. We show that it is possible to reduce coherency, to the extent observed for recorded strong earthquake ground motion, even by a single inclusion in a half space, for incident ground motion that is coherent. We also illustrate the combined effects of geometric spreading and finite fault width, superimposed on the otherwise dominating effects caused by interference. Our examples show reduction of coherence for specific angles of incident waves, while, for other angles of incidence, the coherence remains essentially equal to one.  相似文献

The strong motion of a small long and narrow basin caused by a moderate scenario earthquake is simulated by using the spectral-element method and the parallel computing technique.A total of five different geometrical profiles within the basin are used to analyze the generation and propagation of surface waves and their relation to the basin structures in both the time and frequency domain.The amplification effects are analyzed by the distribution of peak ground velocity(PGV)and cumulative kinetic energy(Ek) in the basin.The results show that in the 3D basin,the excitation of the fundamental and higher surface wave modes are similar to that of the 2D model.Small bowls in the basin have great influence on the amplification and distribution of strong ground motion,due to their lateral resonances when the wavelengths of the lateral surface waves are comparable to the size of the bowls.Obvious basin edge effects can be seen at the basin edge closer to the source for constructive interference between direct body waves and the basin-induced surface waves.The Ek distribution maps show very large values in small bowls and some corners in the basin due to the interference of waves propagating in different directions.A high impedance contrast model can excite more surface wave modes,resulting in longer shaking durations as well as more complex seismograms and PGV and Ek distributions.  相似文献

2008年11月10日在青海柴达木盆地北缘发生了大柴旦M_W6.3地震,为了研究该地震的区域地震波传播与地面运动特征,本文利用地质资料和地壳速度结构研究成果,构建了柴达木盆地及周边区域三维传播介质模型,采用有限差分方法模拟了大柴旦地震波场传播过程以及地面运动分布特征.结果表明,柴达木盆地对波场传播有明显影响,表现为地震波传入盆地后在边界产生次生面波,盆地沉积物对地震波具有围陷作用,地震地面运动在盆地内振幅增大、持时延长.模拟结果给出的地震地面运动峰值速度分布以及理论地震图均和观测结果符合较好,反映数值模拟较好地给出了观测地面运动的主要特征以及传播介质模型的合理性.  相似文献

采用闭合解析解对水平地表圆形非匀质隆起出平面运动特征进行详细分析。结果表明:(1)隆起区域介质软硬程度对其出平面地表运动影响非常大,软质隆起表面的地表位移较匀质隆起情况有显著放大,地表运动波动效应明显增强,而硬质隆起则减弱地表运动;(2)软质隆起地表位移幅值最大反应和平均反应增大的程度一般来说至少不低于隆起区域波速降低的程度,很多情况是远大于波速降低的程度,但最大反应出现的位置和频段主要受入射波角度控制;(3)当波垂直传播时,地表位移放大出现在隆起顶部,频率随隆起区变软,明显向低频移动,可出现在很低频段内,且随隆起区变软放大更为显著;(4)当波掠入射时,地表最大位移出现在隆起后表面,地表运动仍然十分强烈,甚至比波垂直入射时隆起顶部反应还要大,但出现在较高频段内。  相似文献
