An investigation of the observational properties for RR Lyrae variables in the galactic globular cluster Centauri is reported. The results show that Centauri belongs to the Oosterhoff Group I, notwithstanding the large, Oo II-like value of the average of the periods of ab-type RR Lyrae. The helium content is derived for this cluster from the analysis of the variables in the (A-logT e) plane. It is shown that the helium abundance is very close to the value Y=0.30, about 0.05 larger than the value derived for the normal Oo I globular cluster M3.  相似文献

The H observations of a limb flare, which were associated with exceptional gamma-ray and hard X-ray emission, are presented and discussed. The good spatial and temporal resolution of the H data allow us to investigate the detailed structure of the elevated flare loops and the intensity variations of the loops, footpoints and surrounding chromosphere during each phase of the flare event. A delay time of 12 s was found between at least one of the hard X-ray (28–485 keV) peaks and corresponding H intensity maximum at a loop footpoint. A comparison is made between this event and another well-observed limb flare with many similar characteristics to seek evidence for the large difference in their levels of energy release.  相似文献

The equations of motion of the satellite-damper system are derived omitting consideration of the influence of external torques. The conditions of stability of the stationary spinning are obtained and the optimal parameters of the satellite and the damper ensuring a maximal rate of damping of the nutation motion are determined.  相似文献

The applicability of the properties of central configurations proceeding from the many-body problem to study of gaseous sphere cloud evolution during its gravitational contraction is justified. It is shown that the product runs to a constant value in the asymptotic time limit of simultaneous collision of all the particles of the cloud where is a form-factor of the potential energy and is a form-factor of the moment of inertia.The spherical bodies as well as ellipsoids of rotation and general ellipsoids with a one-dimensional mass distribution (k),k[0, 1] are found to possess the property =const.

This article tries to give a short review of the hydrodynamic modelling of Planetary Nebulae to date. I start by discussing the types of observations the modelling aims to reproduce and then discuss the results of different types of models. First the simplified models in which evolutionary changes in the stellar properties are neglected, then the evolutionary models in which these effects are taken into account. The simplified models can reproduce single shell nebulae with the right kinematic properties. The evolutionary models can reproduce multiple shells and some of the kinematic and morphological differences between various ions. I also briefly discuss some of the difficulties which have not been addressed and/or solved by the numerical modelling, such as the point-symmetric nebulae, some of the collimated phenomena, and clumpiness.Abbreviations AGB Asymptotic Giant Branch - PN Planetary Nebulae - YSO Young Stellar Object  相似文献

This paper is a continuation and a generalization of one published earlier (Duboshin, 1969): it discusses the problem whether there exist the Lagrangian and the Eulerian solutions of the generalized three-body (material points) problem. Every point in this generalized problem acts on another, one with a force (attractive or repulsive) directed along the straight line passing through these points, and in an arbitrary manner depending on time, mutual distance and its derivatives, the first and the second. Here, generally speaking, the third axiom of dynamics (law of action and reaction) is not presupposed as fulfilled, that is, it is supposed that every two material points interact in a different way.This most general assumption being made, we establish the conditions which must dictate the laws of the interactions, so that the three points can always remain at the apexes of the equilateral triangle (Langrangian solution), or remain always on a straight line (Eulerian solution).The author believes that such general treatment of the three-body problem can be useful for theoretical studies in celestial mechanics and also for practical applications in the study of isolated stellar systems.

Standard UBV light curves of eclipsing binary star GO CYGNUS havebeen presented. These light curves indicate a Lyrae typevariations with circular orbit. The interaction processes governing the penetration of the interstellar gas into the solar neighbourhood are re-examined — as well as photo-ionization and charge-exchange processes, proton elastic collisions and electron ionizations help reduce the nearby gas densities. The total destruction rate varies little during the solar cycle, by perhaps 10%. Particle heating, particularly via the elastic collisions, determines the gas characteristics in the gravitationally focussed tail—enhanced H-density is prevented, while the He-tail is effectively hotter than 103 K.Termination of the solar wind is rediscussed in the light of both electron heating and the stronger gas/plasma interaction. The spiral interplanetary field is taken to break up and the subsonic plasma flow to be controlled by the pressure of slowly cooling electrons. The terminating collisionless shock is then, if it exists at all, very weak (M 1<1.4), subcritical, and energetically unimportant. Cosmic rays are little affected by this sonic transition, but at least the electron component should be modulated by plasma turbulence throughout the ionizing flow.

Orbital stability of quasiperiodic motions in the many dimensional autonomic hamiltonian systems is considered. Studied motions are supposed to be not far from equilibrium, the number of their basic frequencies may be not equal to the number of degrees of freedom, and the procedure of their construction is supposed to be converged. The stability problem is solved in the strict nonlinear mode.Obtained results are used in the stability investigation of small plane motions near the lagrangian solutions of the three-dimensional circular restricted three-body problem. The values of parameters for which the plane motions are unstable have been found.

The power in the different modes of an expansion of the solar radial magnetic field at the surface in terms of Legendre polynomials,P , is calculated with the help of a solar dynamo model studied earlier. The model is of the Babcock–Leighton type, i.e., the surface eruptions of the toroidal magnetic field – through the tilt angle, , formed by the magnetic axis of a bipolar magnetic region with the east-west line – are the sources for the poloidal field. In this paper it is assumed that the tilt angle is subject to fluctuations of the form, = ()+ <> where <> is the average value and () is a random normal fluctuation with standard deviation which is taken from Howard's observations of the distribution of tilt angles. For numerical considerations, negative values of were not allowed. If this occurred, was recalculated. The numerical integrations were started with a toroidal magnetic field antisymmetric across the equator, large enough to generate eruptions, and a negligible poloidal field. The fluctuations in the tilt angle destroy the antisymmetry as time increases. The power of the antisymmetric modes across the equator (i.e., odd values of ) is concentrated in frequencies, p, corresponding to the cycle period. The maximum power lies in the =3 mode with considerable power in the =5 mode, in broad agreement with Stenflo's results who finds a maximum power at =5. For the symmetric modes, there is considerable power in frequencies larger than p, again in broad agreement with Stenflo's power spectrum.  相似文献

Some peculiarities in the behaviour of a model self-gravitating system described by hydrodynamical equations and isothermal equation of state connected with the presence of thermodynamical fluctuations in real systems were investigated in numerical experiment. The values of density and velocity , , respectively, were computed by numerical code perturbed on each time-step and in each computational cell by random values , for modeling such fluctuations. Perturbed values i = i + i ,v i = i + v i were used to initiate the next step of computations. This procedure is equivalent to an introduction into original hydrodynamical equations of Langevin sources which are random functions. It is shown that these small fluctuations (= v =0,2 =v 2 = 10–8) grow many times in marginally-stable state.  相似文献
