The 1979 Uppsala Symposium was arranged as a continuation of the symposium held in Uppsala in 1978 on the deglaciation of Scandinavia earlier than 10,000 B.P. Papers from the latter symposium were published in Boreas , Vol. 8, No. 2 (1979). In the present issue, eleven contributions from the 1979 Symposium are included, among them three general summaries for Norway, Finland, and Sweden. The Symposium and this issue of Boreas form part of the joint Nordic activity within the IGCP project entitled 'Quaternary Glaciations in the Northern Hemisphere'  相似文献

当前世界面临着越来越严重的水资源缺乏等环境压力,大尺度区域地下水资源与环境问题日益得到重视。在区域地下水流理论创立、应用与发展50年之际,由中国地质调查局和国际水文地质学家协会区域地下水流专业委员会主办,西安地质调查中心和中国地质大学(北京、武汉)等单位承办了区域地下水流理论、应用与发展国际学术研讨会。区域地下水流理论创始人Tóth教授以及来自13个国家的160多位水文地质专家从地下水流理论方法、实践应用等方面进行研讨和交流,将对区域地下水流理论的研究起到积极的促进作用,有力推动该理论的进一步发展和实际应用。笔者系统分析梳理了与会者的报告,归纳总结了国际区域地下水流理论研究进展和发展动态,以期为区域地下水流理论更加广泛地应用于水文地质环境地质相关研究领域提供参考。  相似文献

国际化探大会每两年召开一次。一般是在北美与西欧轮流召开。本届会议是第一次在中国,也是第一次在亚洲召开。为了使更多国外学者了解中国化探的成就,本届会议决定与第5届全国勘查地球化学学术讨论会在同一时期同一地点先后举行。本文概述了大会前的5个专题讨论会、大会开幕式、全体会议上的3个学术报告、分组进行的9个专题学术报告会及成果展示。从本文可看到当前国际化探的动向,中国化探在国际上的地位,并可看到这次会议对中国化探今后发展的深远影响。  相似文献

The water demand in arid regions is commonly covered by groundwater resources that date back to more humid periods of the Pleistocene and Holocene. Within the investigated arid part of SE Saudi-Arabia information about climate, groundwater levels, and pumping rates are only available for regions where groundwater extractions occur at present-day. For the prediction of the impact of long-term climate changes on groundwater resources an understanding of the hydrogeological and hydrological past and the development of the aquifers is necessary. Therefore, all available information about hydrology and hydrogeology for the past 10,000 years BP were collected and compiled to a conceptual model of the aquifer development on the Arabian Peninsula since the last Ice-Age. The climatic history was displayed by changes in precipitation, temperature and recharge during the mid-S and late Holocene. The hydrogeological development is described by groundwater ages, sea level fluctuations, movement of the coastline, and the development of sabkhas. The most sensitive parameter to describe the development of aquifer system is recharge. Present-day recharge was calculated with the hydrological model system HEC-HMS accounting for current precipitation, temperature, wind, soil types, and geomorphology. With respect to changes in precipitation and temperature over the past 10,000 years the temporal and spatial variability of groundwater recharge was calculated using empirical equations valid for semi-arid and arid settings. Further inflow into the groundwater system results from surface water infiltration in wadi beds, while natural outflow from the groundwater system occurs by discharge to the Gulf, evaporation from sabkhas, and spring discharge. Backward predictions can be verified by sedimentological observations of palaeo-river systems and lakes indicating that groundwater levels reached temporarily the surface under wetter climate conditions and 14C groundwater ages displaying groundwater residence times.  相似文献

The Sino-German Joint Expedition consisted of a group of 8 scientists from the Lanzhou Institute for Glaciology and Cryopedology and the Institute for Plateau Biology in Xining (China) as well as 3 participants from the Geographical Institute of the University of Göttingen (FR Germany). The research expedition to S Tibet and the N slope of the Himalayas was undertaken from August to November 1984, supported by technical personel and yak herders.During the 87-day field campaign studies were done in the Transhimalayas. Tibetan Himalayas, and High Himalayas on Shisha Pangma (8046 m) and under specific aspects on Chomolungma (Mt. Everest, 8848 m). The participants of the expedition worked 63 days at altitudes above 6000 m and 6500 m. The highest altitude reached during the collection of data was 7100 m, i.e. the E face of Chang La leading to the N summit of Mt. Everest. Results were attained in the areas of Pleistocene research, recent glaciology (glacier movements, ablation, albedo and firn-ice temperature measurements), neoglacial and recent glacier history, cryopedology (debris drift measurements), botany and vegetation geography. Additionally, geoecological data on all significant climatic parameters at high altitudes were collected. This work was documented on 16-mm sound movie film in cooperation with the Institute for Scientific Films (IWF, FR Germany). 在四川北部广元地区1:5万区域地质调查填图工作中,应用层序地层理论和方法,对测区古生代一中生代海相沉积地层进行了详细划分,利用层序地层对岩石地层单位界线进行了优化,从而提高了测区地层划分对比的精度和预测地质体的能力,使岩石地层单位的划分更为合理。建立了测区岩石地层单位,并论述了层序地层与岩石地层的相关性,提出了层序地层在沉积岩区1:5万区调地质图面的表达方式。  相似文献

传统的地下水开采潜力评价方法主要采用单个指标进行评价,难以全面科学地反映地下水开采潜力的影响要素。地下水的空间分布、动态变化受到经济社会发展、开采技术等多个因素影响,也与自身调节有关,这与生态位理论的观念吻合。文中提出地下水生态位的定义、计算公式;对河北平原9个主要城市进行地下水生态位计算、聚类分析,分析其地下水开采潜力;并与传统方法的评价结果进行对比。结果表明:除保定、秦皇岛和廊坊外,其他城市的两种方法的评价结果大致相似;差异分析说明地下水生态位的评价方法更全面、科学合理且符合实际。生态位理论将为地下水开采潜力评价分析提供一种新的、甚至是根本性的尝试。  相似文献

Radiocarbon-dated marine sediments from five coastal sites along the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel in southernmost Chile permit construction of a curve of relative sea-level fluctuations during the Holocene. Morphologic and stratigraphic data point to coastal submergence during the early Holocene as the sea rose to a maximum level at least 3.5 m higher than present about 5000 yr ago. Progressive emergence then followed during the late Holocene. Data from widely separated localities define a smooth curve, the form of which is explainable in terms of isostatic and hydroisostatic deformation of the crust resulting from changing ice and water loads. Apparently anomalous data from one site located more than 100 km behind the outer limit of the last glaciation may reflect isostatic response to deglaciation. The sea-level curve resembles one derived by Clark and Bloom (1979, In “Proceedings of the 1978 International Symposium on Coastal Evolution in the Quaternary, Sao Paulo, Brasil,” pp. 41–60. Sao Paulo) using a spherical Earth model, both in amplitude and in the timing of the maximum submergence.  相似文献
