The characteristics of the head-on collision (HOC) between two positron acoustic solitary waves (PASWs) in a four component electron-positron-ion (EPI) space plasma have been investigated theoretically, using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The analytical phase shifts after the collision of the two solitary waves occurs are derived. Numerically, the influences of the cold/hot positron parameters on the phase shifts are explicitly investigated. The present theory is applied to analyze the formation and the interaction of localized coherent PASWs structures in space plasmas (pulsar environments).  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ion acoustic waves in ideal plasmas consisting of degenerate electrons and positrons, and isothermal ions is investigated. The Korteweg de Vries (K-dV) equation that contains the lowest order nonlinearity and dispersion is derived from the lowest order of perturbation and a linear inhomogeneous (K-dV type) equation that accounts for the higher order nonlinearity and the dispersion relation is obtained. The stationary wave solution for these equations has been found using the renormalization method. Also, the effects of electrons and positrons densities and ion temperature on the amplitude and width of solitary waves are investigated, numerically. It is seen that higher order corrections significantly change the properties of the K-dV solitons. Also, it is found that both compressive and rarefactive solitary waves can be propagated in such plasma system.  相似文献

The electrostatic shocks and solitons are studied in weakly relativistic and collisional electron-positron-ion plasmas occurring in polar regions of pulsar. The plasma system is composed of relativistically streaming electrons, positrons while ions are taken to be stationary. Dissipative effects in the system are due to collision phenomena among the constituents of relativistic plasma. Nonlinear dynamics of the dissipation and dispersion dominated relativistic plasma systems are governed by Korteweg-de Vries Burger (KdVB) and Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations respectively. Numerical results, exploring the effects of plasma parameters on the profile of nonlinear waves are expedited graphically for illustration. Positron to electron temperature ratio plays the role of a decisive parameter. It is noticed that compressive shocks and solitons evolve in the system if the positron to electron temperature ratio is less than a critical value. However, there exists a threshold value of positron to electron temperature ratio beyond which the system supports the rarefactive shocks and solitons. The results may have importance in the relativistic plasmas of pulsar magnetosphere.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been performed on the nonlinear propagation of nonplanar (cylindrical and spherical) Gardner solitons (GSs) associated with the positron-acoustic (PA) waves in a four component plasma system consisting of nonthermal distributed electrons and hot positrons, mobile cold positrons, and immobile positive ions. The well-known reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the modified Gardner (MG) equation. The basic features (viz. amplitude, polarity, speed, etc.) of nonplanar PA Gardner solitons (GSs) have been examined by the numerical analysis of the MG equation. It has been observed that the properties of the PA GSs in a nonplanar geometry differ from those in a planar geometry. It has been also investigated that the presence of nonthermal (Cairns distributed) electrons and hot positrons significantly modify the amplitude, polarity, speed, and thickness of such PA GSs. The results of our investigation should play an important role in understanding various interstellar space plasma environments as well as laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

This article presents the first study of the head-on collision of two ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in magnetized plasmas with nonextensive electrons and positrons using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The effects of the ion gyro-frequency to ion plasma frequency ratio, the positron to ion number density ratio, the electrons temperature to positrons temperature ratio, and the nonextensive parameter q on the phase shifts are investigated. It is shown that these factors significantly modify the phase shifts.  相似文献

Propagation of cylindrical and spherical ion acoustic solitary waves in plasmas consisting of cold ions, superthermal electrons and thermal positrons are investigated. It is shown that cylindrical/spherical Korteweg-de-Vries equation governs the dynamics of ion-acoustic solitons. The effects of nonplanar geometry and also superthermal electrons on the characteristics of solitary wave structures are studied using numerical simulations. Obtained results are compared with the results of the other published papers and errors in the results of some papers are pointed.  相似文献

The propagation of nonlinear waves in plasmas consisting of cold electron fluid and superthermal hot electrons and stationary ions is studied. The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived using the reductive perturbation theory. It is found that only the rarefractive solitons can be created. Moreover, the linear dispersion relation and energy of solitary waves in the presence of hot superthermal electrons are derived. Our investigation is of wide relevance to astronomers and space scientists working on interstellar space plasmas.  相似文献

Interaction of nonplanar ion acoustic solitary waves is an important source of information to study the nature and characteristics of ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) structures. The head-on collision between two cylindrical/spherical IASWs in un-magnetized plasmas comprising with inertial ions, superthermal electrons and positrons is investigated by using the extended version of Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) perturbation method. It has been shown numerically that how the interactions are taking place in cylindrical and spherical geometry. The nonplanar geometry modified analytical phase shifts following the head-on collision are derived. The effects of the superthermal electrons and positrons on the phase shift are studied. It is shown that the properties of the interaction IASWs in different geometry are very different.  相似文献

A reductive perturbation technique is employed to solve the fluid-Poisson equations in spherical geometry describing a weakly nonlinear electron–acoustic (EA) waves in unmagnetized plasma consisting of stationary ions, cold electrons and kappa distributed hot electrons. It is shown that a variable coefficient Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) equation governs the evolution of scalar potential describing propagation of EA waves. The influence of suprathermality and geometry effects on propagation of EA solitary waves is investigated. We found that when electrons evolve toward their thermodynamic equilibrium, EA solitons are generated with large amplitudes. Also it is shown that EA solitary structures can be significantly modified by transverse perturbations.  相似文献

The large amplitude Ion-acoustic solitons in collisionless plasma consisting of warm adiabatic ions, isothermal positrons and two-temperature distribution of electrons are investigated. Using pseudo-potential approach, an energy integral equation for the system has been derived which encompasses complete nonlinearity for the plasma system. The existence region of the solitons is analyzed numerically. It is found that for selected set of plasma parameters, both rarefactive and compressive solitons exist in the electron-positron-ion (EPI) plasma. It is also found that due to finite positron concentration both subsonic and supersonic rarefactive soliton exist in EPI plasma. An increase in finite ion temperature ratio decreases the amplitude of the rarefactive solitons. In the case of small amplitude, it is found that there exist supersonic compressive as well as rarefactive solitons simultaneously. The amplitude of the solitons decreases with increase in ion temperature ratio (σ), however an increase in positron concentration (α) and temperature ratio of positron to electrons (γ) increases the amplitude of the solitons. Effect of various plasma parameters on the characteristics of the solitons are discussed in detail. The results of the investigation may be helpful to understand the nonlinear structures in auroral plasma, pulsars and magnetospheric astrophysical environment as well as laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

Theoretical investigation is carried out to understand the dynamics and stability of three dimensional ion solitary waves propagating in dense plasma comprising of ultra-relativistic degenerate electrons and positrons and warm ions. A linear dispersion relation is derived which shows a strong dependence of wave on positron concentration (through the change of density balance) and ion-to-degenerate electron temperature ratio. A nonlinear Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation is derived by employing the reductive perturbation technique and solved analytically and the conditions for existence of stable solitary waves are found. The analysis reveals that only compressive solitary waves exist in the system. Effects of the change of density balance and Fermi temperature ratios are studied in detail, both analytically and numerically. Furthermore, the conditions for stable solitary waves are discussed by using energy consideration method. The numerical results are also presented by using the parameters consistent with the degenerate and ultrarelativistic astrophysical plasmas.  相似文献

A theoretical model is presented to investigate the existence, formation, and possible realization of nonlinear envelope ion acoustic solitary waves which accompany collisionless electron-positron-ion plasmas with high-energy electrons and positrons (represented by kappa distribution). By employing the reductive perturbation method, the hydrodynamic model and the Poisson equation are reduced to nonlinear Schr?dinger equation. The effects of the superthermal parameters, as well as ion-to-electron temperature ratio on the propagation and stability of the envelope solitary waves are examined. The superthermal parameters (ion-to-electron temperature ratio) give rise to instability (stability) of the solitary excitations, since the instability window is strongly modified. Finally, the present results should elucidate the excitation of the nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary wave packets in superthermal electron-positron-ion plasmas, particularly in interstellar medium.  相似文献

Propagation of cylindrical and spherical electron-acoustic solitary waves in unmagnetized plasmas consisting of cold electron fluid, hot electrons obeying a superthermal distribution and stationary ions are investigated. The standard reductive perturbation method is employed to derive the cylindrical/spherical Korteweg-de-Vries equation which governs the dynamics of electron-acoustic solitons. The effects of nonplanar geometry and superthermal hot electrons on the behavior of cylindrical and spherical electron acoustic soliton and its structure are also studied using numerical simulations.  相似文献

The head-on collision of two ion acoustic solitary waves propagating in opposite directions in a weakly relativistic electron-positron-ion plasma composed of weakly relativistic warm ion fluid and nonextensive electrons, positrons is investigated. Using extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo method, the Korteweg-de Vries equations and the analytical phase shifts after the head-on collision of two solitary waves are derived. The effects of the nonextensive parameter, positron-to-electron density ratio, ion-to-electron temperature ratio, electron-to-positron temperature ratio and relativistic factor on the phase shifts are studied. It is found that these parameters can significantly influence the phase shifts of solitary waves.  相似文献

Properties of fully nonlinear electron-acoustic solitary waves in an unmagnetized and collisionless electron-positron-ion plasma containing cold dynamical electrons, superthermal electrons and positrons obeying Cairns’ distribution have been analyzed in the stationary background of massive positive ions. A linear dispersion relation has been derived, from which it is found that even in the absence of superthermal electrons, the superthermal positron component can provide the restoring force to the cold inertial electrons to excite electron-acoustic waves. Moreover, superthermal electron and positron populations seem to enhance the electron acoustic wave phase speed. For nonlinear analysis, Korteweg-de Vries equation is obtained using the reductive perturbation technique. It is found that in the presence of positron both hump and dip type solitons appear to excite. The present work may be employed to explore and to understand the formation of electron acoustic soliton structures in the space and laboratory plasmas with nonthermal electrons and positrons.  相似文献

Large amplitude solitons are investigated in an electron-positron plasma consisting of a hot and cold component for each charged species. The existence (and amplitudes) of the solitons are studied as a function of plasma parameters such as particle number densities and temperatures. Both compressive and rarefactive solitons are found to occur. Possible applications to pulsar magnetospheres are discussed. Also attached to Plasma Physics Research Institute, University of Natal, Durban, South Africa.  相似文献

Using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) reductive perturbation method, which incorporates the phase-shift variations, it is shown that common features on propagation and head-on collisions of ion-acoustic waves exist for a magnetized plasmas of different inertial-less particle distributions. For instance it is remarked that, the soliton amplitude is always independent of magnetic field strength while strictly depends on its angle regarding the propagation direction. Both types of solitons (compressive or rarefactive) are shown to exist which are defined through the critical angle γ=π/2 or other critical values depending on plasma fractional parameters. These critical plasma parameter values also define the sign of head-on collision phase shift. Furthermore, it is proved that for a given set of plasma parameters there is always a relative angle of propagation regarding to that of the magnetic-field for which the soliton width is maximum. Current findings apply to a wide range of magnetized plasmas including those containing background dust ingredients or two-temperature inertial-less particles and may be used to study laboratory or astrophysical magnetoplasmas.  相似文献
