In this paper the existence of collinear as well as equilateral libration points for the generalised elliptic restricted three body problem has been studied distinct from Kondurar and Shinkarik (1972) where a study has been made for the generalised circular restricted three body problem. Here the coordinates of the libration points have been found to be functions of timet.  相似文献

The problem is considered within the framework of the elliptic restricted three-body problem. The asymptotic solution is derived by a three-variable expansion procedure. The variables of the expansion represent three time-scales of the asteroids: the revolution around the Sun, the libration around the triangular Lagrangian pointsL 4,L 5, and the motion of the perihelion. The solution is obtained completely in the first order and partly in the second order. The results are given in explicit form for the coordinates as functions of the true anomaly of Jupiter. As an example for the perturbations of the orbital elements the main perturbations of the eccentricity, the perihelion longitude and the longitude of the ascending node are given. Conditions for the libration of the perihelion are also discussed.  相似文献

This paper investigates the triangular libration points in the photogravitational restricted three-body problem of variable mass, in which both the attracting bodies are radiating as well and the infinitesimal body vary its mass with time according to Jeans’ law. Firstly, applying the space-time transformation of Meshcherskii in the special case when q=1/2, k=0, n=1, the differential equations of motion of the problem are given. Secondly, in analogy to corresponding problem with constant mass, the positions of analogous triangular libration points are obtained, and the fact that these triangular libration points cease to be classical ones when α≠0, but turn to classical L 4 and L 5 naturally when α=0 is pointed out. Lastly, introducing the space-time inverse transformation of Meshcherskii, the linear stability of triangular libration points is tested when α>0. It is seen that the motion around the triangular libration points become unstable in general when the problem with constant mass evolves into the problem with decreasing mass.  相似文献

The restricted three-body Hamiltonian is partitioned into a two-center type principal part and its accompanying perturbational part. The mathematical analysis, involving the Jacobian elliptic functions, is adapted for the case of figure-eight orbits winding around the two given mass points. For many such orbits the elliptic function modulusk is small and can serve as a small parameter.Fourier expansions in terms of a parameter related tot are obtained for the intermediate orbit functions which provide representations in terms of elementary functions.  相似文献

Moore (1983) presented a theory of resonance with two degrees of freedom based on the Bohlin-von Zeipel procedure. This procedure is now applied to librational motion with all constants re-evaluated in terms of values of the momenta given either by the initial conditions, or, in the case of the momentumy 1 conjugate to the critical argument x1, by its value at the libration centre. Numerical results are presented for a resonant satellite in a near 12 hr orbit and for a geosynchronous satellite. The theory is further developed to include near-circular orbits by recasting the problem in terms of the Poincaré eccentric variables.  相似文献

Trojan type orbits in the system of two gravitational centers with variable separation are studied within the framework of the restricted problem of three bodies. The backward numerical integration of the equations of motion of the bodies starting in the triangular libration pointsL 4 andL 5 (reverse problem) finds the breakdown of librations as the separation decreases because of the mass gain of the smaller component and an approach of the body of negligible, mass to the latter up to the distance below its sphere of action with a relative velocity approximately equal to the escape one on this sphere. The breakdown of librations aboutL 5 occurs under the mass gain of the smaller component considerably larger than in the case ofL 4 and implications are made for the asymmetry of the number of librators aboutL 4 andL 5 in the solar system (Greeks and Trojans). Other parameters of the libration motion near 1/1 commensurability are obtained, namely, the asymmetry of the libration amplitudes about the triangular points as well as the values of periods and amplitudes within the limits of those for real Trojan asteroids. Trojans could be supposedly, formed inside the Proto-jupiter and escape during its intensive mass loss.  相似文献

In a recent paper, published in Astrophys. Space Sci. (337:107, 2012) (hereafter paper ZZX) and entitled “On the triangular libration points in photogravitational restricted three-body problem with variable mass”, the authors study the location and stability of the generalized Lagrange libration points L 4 and L 5. However their study is flawed in two aspects. First they fail to write correctly the equations of motion of the variable mass problem. Second they attribute a variable mass to the third body of the restricted three-body model, a fact that is not compatible with the assumptions used in deriving the mathematical formulation of this model.  相似文献

We show within the framework of the restricted three body problem that
  1. Only in the immediate neighbourhood of the Lagrangian pointsL 4 andL 5 the distribution of a cloud of particles tends to become uniform under the influence of random stochastic perturbations. No consequences can be derived from this fact for a tendency of dispersion of clouds librating at arbitrary distances around the Lagrangian points.
  2. From an elementary inspection of the Jacobi integral we cannot conclude that mutual completely inelastic collisions tend to drive the particles away from the vicinity of the libration points.
Finally the motion of a particle within the libration cloud, approximated as a resisting medium, is briefly examined.  相似文献

In this paper the effect of solar radiation pressure on the location and stability of the five Lagrangian points is studied, within the frame of elliptic restricted three-body problem, where the primaries are the Sun and Jupiter acting on a particle of negligible mass. We found that the radiation pressure plays the rule of slightly reducing the effective mass of the Sun and changes the location of the Lagrangian points. New formulas for the location of the collinear libration points were derived. For large values of the force ratio β, we found that at β=0.12, the collinear point L3 is stable and some families of periodic orbits can be drawn around it.  相似文献

The possibility of stabilizing the collinear libration points of the circular restricted three-body problem by using an additional jet acceleration (constant in magnitude) is investigated. Three stabilization laws are considered when the jet acceleration is either directed continuously to one of the primariesm 1,m 2 or is parallel to the line joining them. The solution of the problem formulated is based on the method of the driving forces structure analysis created by W. Thomson and P. Tait. It is shown that none of the stabilization laws mentioned ensures the existence of the isolated minimum of changed potential energy, and therefore the secular stability of the collinear libration points is impossible. In the 3rd and 4th paragraphs the possibility of a gyroscopic stabilization of these points is considered. It is shown that the gyroscopic stabilization of the external libration points is possible only when jet acceleration is either directed to the distant mass or is parallel to the line joining the primaries. The necessary and sufficient conditions of the gyroscopic stabilization are given. It is also shown that the internal libration points cannot be stabilized by any of the laws considered. For the Earth-Moon system the numerical data of time-existence of the satellite in the vicinity of the libration point situated near the Moon are given.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence and the stability of the libration points in the restricted three-body problem when the smaller primary is an ellipsoid. We have determined the equations of motion of the infinitesimal mass which involves elliptic integrals and then we have investigated the collinear and non collinear libration points and their stability. This is observed that there exist five collinear libration points and the non collinear libration points are lying on the arc of the unit circle whose centre is the bigger primary. Further observed that the libration points either collinear or non-collinear all are unstable.  相似文献

Numerical explorations of the restricted problem have shown that for stable large nonperiodic retrograde satellite orbits, the motion can be decomposed into a fast reference motion and a slow libration aroundB 2 We study here this libration in the circular plane Hill's case, for which the reference motion is elliptic. We establish the equations of motion for the coordinates of the centre of this ellipse. We find two integrals of motion: the first is the semi-major axis of the ellipse; the second is essentially Jacobi's integral, translated into the new coordinates. We give a formula for the period of the libration and we find its limiting value for small libration amplitudes. A numerical verification gives very good agreement for all these results.  相似文献

High-order analytical solutions of invariant manifolds, associated with Lissajous and halo orbits in the elliptic restricted three-body problem (ERTBP), are constructed in this paper. The equations of motion of ERTBP in the pulsating synodic coordinate system have five equilibrium points, and the three collinear libration points as well as the associated center manifolds are unstable. In our calculation, the general solutions of the invariant manifolds associated with Lissajous and halo orbits around collinear libration points are expressed as power series of five parameters: the orbital eccentricity, two amplitudes corresponding to the hyperbolic manifolds, and two amplitudes corresponding to the center manifolds. The analytical solutions up to arbitrary order are constructed by means of Lindstedt–Poincaré method, and then the center and invariant manifolds, transit and non-transit trajectories in ERTBP are all parameterized. Since the circular restricted three-body problem (CRTBP) is a particular case of ERTBP when the eccentricity is zero, the general solutions constructed in this paper can be reduced to describe the dynamics around the collinear libration points in CRTBP naturally. In order to check the validity of the series expansions constructed, the practical convergence of the series expansions up to different orders is studied.  相似文献

The dynamics of the pseudo-Newtonian restricted four-body problem has been studied in the present paper, where the primaries have equal masses. The parametric variation of the existence as well as the position of the libration points are determined, when the value of the transition parameter ϵ ∈(0, 1]. The stability of these libration points has also been discussed. Our study reveals that the Jacobi constant as well as transition parameter ϵ have substantial effect on the regions of possible motion, where the fourth body is free to move. The multivariate version of Newton-Raphson iterative scheme is introduced for determining the basins of attraction in the configuration (x, y) plane. A systematic numerical investigation is executed to reveal the influence of the transition parameter on the topology of the basins of convergence. In parallel, the required number of iterations is also noted to show its correlations to the corresponding basins of convergence. It is unveiled that the evolution of the attracting regions in the pseudo-Newtonian restricted four-body problem is a highly complicated yet worth studying problem.  相似文献

The stability of collinear and triangular libration points is investigated in the photogravitational elliptic restricted three-body problem, in which two primary bodies emit light energy simultaneously. The conditions of stability of the collinear and triangular libration points are obtained based on a linearized set of equations of perturbed motion for various values of the eccentricity of the Keplerian orbits and the mass ratio of the primary bodies. The maximal numerical value is defined for the eccentricity at which a stable libration point can still exist. It is demonstrated how the parametric resonance causes an instability of collinear and triangular libration points; the evolution of the origination of the instability zones is traced. The minimal eccentricity value is found at which zones of instability of triangular libration points arise.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence and stability of the non-collinear libration points in the restricted three-body problem when both the primaries are ellipsoid with equal mass and identical in shape. We have determined the equations of motion of the infinitesimal mass which involves elliptic integrals and then we have investigated the existence and stability of the non-collinear libration points. This is observed that the non-collinear libration points exist only in the interval 52°<φ<90° and form an isosceles triangle with the primaries. Further we observed that the non collinear libration points are unstable in 52°<φ<90°.  相似文献

The location and the stability in the linear sense of the libration points in the restricted problem have been studied when there are perturbations in the potentials between the bodies. It is seen that if the perturbing functions satisfy certain conditions, there are five libration points, two triangular and three collinear. It is further observed that the collinear points are unstable and for the triangular points, the range of stability increases or decreases depending upon whetherP> or <0 wherep depends upon the perturbing functions. The theory is verified in the following four cases:
  1. There are no perturbations in the potentials (classical problem).
  2. Only the bigger primary is an oblate spheroid whose axis of symmetry is perpendicular to the plane of relative motion (circular) of the primaries.
  3. Both the primaries are oblate spheroids whose axes of symmetry are perpendicular to the plane of relative motion (circular) of the primaries.
  4. The primaries are spherical in shape and the bigger is a source of radiation.

The non-linear stability of the triangular libration points of the restricted three-body problem is studied under the presence of third and fourth order resonance's, when the more massive primary is an oblate spheroid. In this study Markeev's theorem are utilised with the help of KAM theorem. It is found that the stability of the triangular libration points are unstable in the third order resonance case and stable in the fourth order resonance case, for all the values of oblateness factor A1. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Using the local asymmetric expansion of the disturbing function for the planar elliptic restricted three-body problem up to degree 1 ine 1 we develop a small amplitude libration theory. We review the laws that characterize the mean-motion resonances of asteroids with Jupiter and we obtain other new laws. Special attention is paid to the second forced mode whose equations are reformulated and new consequences of this component are discussed. An analytical expression for the trajectories in the phase space is obtained. The predictions are compared with numerical experiments which confirm the results.  相似文献
