In this work, we first obtain the hydrostatic equilibrium equation in dilaton gravity. Then, we examine some of the structural characteristics of a strange quark star in dilaton gravity in the context of Einstein gravity. We show that the variations of dilaton parameter do not affect the maximum mass, but variations in the cosmological constant lead to changes in the structural characteristics of the quark star. We investigate the stability of strange quark stars by applying the MIT bag model with dilaton gravity. We also provide limiting values for the dilaton field parameter and cosmological constant. We also study the effects of dilaton gravity on the other properties of a quark star such as the mean density and gravitational redshift. We conclude that the last reported value for the cosmological constant does not affect the maximum mass of a strange quark star.  相似文献

We have considered a hot neutron star with a quark core,a mixed phase of quark-hadron matter, and a hadronic matter crust and have determined the equation of state of the hadronic phase and the quark phase. We have then found the equation of state of the mixed phase under the Gibbs conditions. Finally,we have computed the structure of a hot neutron star with a quark core and compared our results with those of the neutron star without a quark core. For the quark matter calculations,we have used the MIT bag model...  相似文献

We report a general solution in one of the gravitational potentials to the Einstein system in static spherically symmetric spacetime, modeling anisotropic strange quark matter by imposing a linear barotropic equation of state. The model generated by choosing Tolmann IV form for the gravitational potential is shown to contain the previously known anisotropic dark energy star model of Lobo (Class. Quantum Gravity 23:1525, 2006) and isotropic models of de Sitter and Einstein. Moreover, the model is shown to be physically admissible and corroborate with experimental observations on strange star candidates such as SAX J1808.4-3658 and 4U 1820-30.  相似文献

Pulsar slow glitches in a solid quark star model   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A series of five unusual slow glitches of the radio pulsar B1822–09 (PSR J1825–0935) was observed between 1995 and 2005. This is a phenomenon that is understood in a solid quark star model, and reasonable parameters for slow glitches are given in this paper. We propose that, because of increasing shear stress as the pulsar spins down, a slow glitch may occur, beginning with the collapse of a superficial layer of the quark star. This layer of material turns to viscous fluid at first, the viscosity of which helps to deplete the energy released from both the accumulated elastic energy and the gravitation potential. There is then a slow glitch. Numerical calculations show that the slow glitches that have been observed could be reproduced if the effective coefficient of viscosity is ∼102 cm2 s−1 and the initial velocity of the superficial layer is of the order of 10−10 cm s−1 in the coordinate rotating frame of the star.  相似文献

The stability of strange quark matter in the presence of a strong magnetic field is investigated using a dynamical, density dependent, quark mass approach to confinement. Changes in both the single particle and bulk energies of a system which are due to the strong magnetic field are also calculated. It is shown that the presence of a magnetic field makes strange quark matter energetically more stable.  相似文献

In three-dimensional smooth particle hydrodynamic simulations of the coalescence of a quark star with a pseudo-Newtonian black hole all of the quark matter is quickly accreted by the black hole. The Madsen–Caldwell–Friedman argument against the existence of quark stars may need to be re-examined.  相似文献

The Ginzburg-Landau equations are derived for the magnetic and gluomagnetic gauge fields in the color superconducting core of a neutron star containing a CFL-condensate of diquarks. The interaction of the diquark CFL-condensate with the magnetic and gluomagnetic gauge fields is taken into account. The behavior of the magnetic field in a neutron star is studied by solving the Ginzburg-Landau equations taking correct account of the boundary conditions, including the gluon confinement conditions. The magnetic field distribution in the quark and hadronic phases of a neutron star is found. It is shown that a magnetic field generated in the hadronic phase by the entrainment effect penetrates into the quark core in the form of quark vortex filaments because of the presence of screening Meissner currents. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 50, No. 1, pp. 87–98 (February 2007).  相似文献

We have calculated some properties of spin polarized strange quark matter(SQM) in a strong magnetic field at zero temperature using the MIT bag model. We showed that the equation of state of spin polarized SQM is stiffer than that for unpolarized cases. We have also computed the structural properties of a spin polarized strange quark star(SQS) and found that the presence of a magnetic field leads to a more stable SQS when compared to the structural properties of an unpolarized SQS.  相似文献

Questions of the equilibrium, stability, and observational manifestations of strange stars are considered, in which electrical neutralization of the quark matter is provided by positrons, as occurs for some sets of bag parameters resulting in a stiffer equation of state. Such models consist entirely of self-contained, strange quark matter and their maximum mass reaches 2.4–2.5 M with a radius of 13–14 km. The cooling of such strange quark stars both in the absence and in the presence of mass accretion is investigated. It is shown that in the absence of mass accretion onto the strange star, the dependence of temperature (T, K) on age (t, yr) depends very little on the mass of the configuration and has the form T ≈ 2.3·108r−1/5. If the star’s initial temperature is sufficiently high (T0≥2·1010K), then the total number of electron-positron pairs emitted does not depend on it and is determined only by the total mass of the configuration. In the case of accretion, the annihilation of electrons of the infalling fatter with positrons of the strange quark matter results in the emission of γ-rays with an energy of∼0.5 MeV, by observing which one can distinguish candidates for strange stars. The maximum temperature of strange stars with mass accretion is calculated. Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 42, No. 4, pp. 617–630, October–December, 1999.  相似文献

Hypervelocity stars are believed to be ejected out from the Galactic center through dynamical interactions between(binary) stars and the central supermassive black hole(s). In this paper, we report 19 low mass F/G/K type hypervelocity star candidates from over one million stars found in the first data release of the LAMOST regular survey. We determine the unbound probability for each candidate using a MonteCarlo simulation by assuming a non-Gaussian proper-motion error distribution, and Gaussian heliocentric distance and radial velocity error distributions. The simulation results show that all the candidates have unbound possibilities over 50% as expected, and one of them may even exceed escape velocity with over 90% probability. In addition, we compare the metallicities of our candidates with the metallicity distribution functions of the Galactic bulge, disk, halo and globular clusters, and conclude that the Galactic bulge or disk is likely the birth place for our candidates.  相似文献

We consider the possibility that gravitational energy may play a local as well as global role in the behavior of matter in strong gravitational fields. A particular idealized equation, suggested as representing uniform energy density in general relativity, is examined, and its stability with respect to oscillatory and convective perturbations shown to be consistent with general relativistic hydrodynamics, subject to a new physical effect predicted for the behavior of fluids moving in strong fields. We calculate from this idealized equation the mass of a non-rotating neutron star, obtaining a maximum surface redshift ofz=2.48 and a maximum core mass of 9.79 14 –1/2 M. This compares withz=2.00 and 11.4 14 –1/2 M for a Schwarzschild star (=const.) and 6.8 14 –1/2 M for a causal star (dP/d1).  相似文献

We consider an equation of state that leads to a first-order phase transition from the nucleon state to the quark state with a transition parameter λ>3/2 (λ=ρQ/(ρN+P0/c2)) in superdense nuclear matter. Our calculations of integrated parameters for superdense stars using this equation of state show that on the stable branch of the dependence of stellar mass on central pressure dM/dPc>0) in the range of low masses, a new local maximum with Mmax=0.082 and R=1251 km appears after the formation of a toothlike kink (M=0.08M, R=205 km) attributable to quark production. For such a star, the mass and radius of the quark core are Mcore=0.005M and Rcore=1.73 km, respectively. In the model under consideration, mass accretion can result in two successive transitions to a quark-core neutron star with energy release similar to a supernova explosion: initially, a low-mass star with a quark core is formed; the subsequent accretion leads to configurations with a radius of ~1000 km; and, finally, the second catastrophic restructuring gives rise to a star with a radius of ~100 km.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of rapid mass accretion on a fully convective main sequence star of 0.3 M, taking into account the heating of its photosphere by the kinetic energy of the infalling matter. We found that the star develops highly inhomogeneous structure consisting of almost unperturbed initial convective core and a radiative envelope composed of the accreted matter. Both regions are separated by a very stable temperature inversion layer. Due to such structure accreting convective star may significantly increase its radius (contrary to earlier suggestions).Paper presented at the IAU Colloquium No. 93 on Cataclysmic Variables. Evolutionary calculations based on realistic equations of state indicate the stratified nature of the distribution of hadron matter in the interiors of neutron stars. In the proposed model, the stratified structure of a neutron star is treated as a rigid inert core surrounded by a dynamical layer. The physical basis for the model is the concept of the stellar matter of the peripheral envelope as an elastic Fermi continuum, the motions of which are described by the equations of nuclear elastodynamics, proposed in the macroscopic theory of collective processes in laboratory nuclear physics. It is shown that the vibrational dynamics of a neutron star is characterized by two branches of gravitational—elastic, spheroidal (s-mode) and torsional (t-mode) nonradial eigenvibrations. Estimates obtained for the periods of global, gravitational nonradial modes suggest that variations in the intensity of micropulses observed in the millisecond range of the spectra of C-pulsars may be ascribed to these vibrations. The proposed two-component model of a neutron star enables one to consider a glitch in a pulsar’s radio emission as a starquake due to the passage of the companion through periastron of the binary system. Strange quark stars with a crust and strange dwarfs consisting of a compact strange quark core and an extended crust are investigated in terms of a bag model. The crust, which consists of atomic nuclei and degenerate electrons, has a limiting density of cr=drip=4.3·1011 g/cm3. A series of configurations are calculated for two sets of bag model parameters and three different values of cr (109 g/cm3 cr drip) to find the dependence of a star's mass M and radius R on the central density. Sequences of stars ranging from compact strange stars to extended strange dwarfs are constructed out of strange quark matter with a crust. The effect of the bag model parameters and limiting crust density cr on the parameters of the strange stars and strange dwarfs is examined. The strange dwarfs are compared with ordinary white dwarfs and observational differences between the two are pointed out.  相似文献

Main sequence turn-off(MSTO) stars have advantages as indicators of Galactic evolution since their ages can be robustly estimated from atmospheric parameters. Hundreds of thousands of MSTO stars have been selected from the LAMOST Galactic survey to study the evolution of the Galaxy, and it is vital to derive accurate stellar parameters. In this work, we select 150 MSTO star candidates from the MSTO star sample of Xiang that have asteroseismic parameters and determine accurate stellar parameters for these stars by combining asteroseismic parameters deduced from Kepler photometry and atmospheric parameters deduced from LAMOST spectra. With this sample, we examine the age determination as well as the contamination rate of the MSTO star sample. A comparison of age between this work and Xiang shows a mean difference of 0.53 Gyr(7%) and a dispersion of 2.71 Gyr(28%).The results show that 79 of the candidates are MSTO stars, while the others are contaminations from either main sequence or sub-giant stars. The contamination rate for the oldest stars is much higher than that for younger stars. The main cause for the high contamination rate is found to be the relatively large systematic bias in the LAMOST surface gravity estimates.  相似文献

The expulsion of magnetic flux lines from a growing superconducting core of a quark star has been investigated. The idea of impurity diffusion in molten alloys and an identical mechanism of baryon number transport from hot quark-gluon-plasma phase to hadronic phase during quark-hadron phase transition in the early universe, micro-second after big bang has been used. The possibility of Mullins-Sekerka normal-superconducting interface instability has also been studied.  相似文献

The mass loss to be expected from the corona of a rotating F2-star is calculated. The rotation is supposed to be rigid up to a certain distances, as if it were maintained by a strong magnetic field. Dependent on the values of the rotational velocity the mass loss can increase to 26–40% forv rot up to 200 km s–1.  相似文献

Results of high-dispersion spectroscopy (10 Å mm–1) of the symbiotic star AX Per carried out in the years from 1979 to 1987 are reported. The emission line [FeVII] 6086 consists of a narrow and a broad component; the radial velocity of the narrow one varies according to the photometric period 681.6 days. This variation (K=30.6±1.5 km s–1) seems to be due to the orbital motion of the hot star. The radial velocity of absorption lines varies with an inverse phase dependence and a much smaller amplitude (K=5.6±2 km s–1), which may reflect the orbital motion of the red giant. The variation of the radial velocity of the emission lines of FeII, ect. (K=6.7±1.5 km s–1) might be due to the rotation of the red giant. The profile of H emission line suddenly changed around the phase of the photometric minimum, which could be explained as a result of an eclipse of the emitting region by the red giant. On the other hand, some problems remain open in the behaviour of the radial velocities of H and HeI 5876.The observed results support a binary model of AX Per consisting of a rather massive (3M ) M-type giant and a Main-Sequence star (0.6M ). AX Per seems to be in an early stage of the Case C mass transfer, and the estimated very high mass accretion rate (10–4 M yr–1) is consistent with the theoretical models. The narrow component of the emission line of [FeVII] 6086 might be emitted in radiatively driven polar jets on the hot star of which luminosity is close to the Eddington limit.A new identification as ZrII at 6106.47 Å is proposed for the emission line at 6106 Å.  相似文献
