Samples of essentially “dry” high-pressure felsic granulites from the Bohemian Massif (Variscan belt of Central Europe) contain up to 2-mm-large perthitic alkali feldspars with several generations of plagioclase precipitates in an orthoclase-rich host. The first generation takes the form of lenses homogeneous in size, whereas the size of a second generation of very thin albite-rich precipitates is more variable with comparatively high aspect ratios. In the vicinity of large kyanite, garnet or quartz inclusions, the first generation of plagioclase precipitates is significantly less abundant, the microstructure is coarser than in the remainder of the perthitic grain and the host is a tweed orthoclase. The first generation of precipitates formed at around 850 °C during the high-pressure stage (16–18 kbar) of metamorphism. Primary exsolution was followed by primary coarsening of the plagioclase precipitates, which still took place at high temperatures (850–700 °C). The coarsening was pronounced due to the access of fluids in the outer portions of the perthitic alkali feldspar and in more internal regions around large inclusions. The second generation of albite-rich precipitates was formed at around 570 °C. TEM investigations revealed that the interfaces between the second-generation plagioclase lamellae and the orthoclase-rich host are coherent or semi-coherent. During late evolutionary stages of the perthite, albite linings were formed at phase boundaries, and the perthitic microstructure was partially replaced by irregularly shaped precipitates of pure albite with incoherent interfaces. The albitization occurred below 400 °C and was linked to fluid infiltration in the course of deuteric alteration. Based on size-distribution analysis, it is inferred that the precipitates of the first generation were most probably formed by spinodal decomposition, whereas the precipitates of the second generation rather were formed by nucleation and growth.  相似文献

矿物出溶结构保存有早期母体矿物的物理化学条件信息,对其开展研究不仅有助于了解寄主岩石的来源深度,而且有助于研究减压折返的动力学演化过程.在世界许多高压-超高压带的榴辉岩和石榴辉石岩中,人们普遍发现单斜辉石中有定向排列的针状或棒状SiO2析出物,其矿物相主要为α石英,有时会伴生钙质角闪石等含水矿物.这些定向针状或棒状体通常平行于单斜辉石c[001]轴方向延伸,石英长轴可以为其c[0001]轴或a[1120]轴.电子背散射衍射(EBSD)测试结果表明,多数石英(96%)析出物与寄主单斜辉石具有结晶学取向关系:(1) 50%的石英c轴平行,并且[0001]Qz//[001]Cpx;(2)35%的石英至少有一个a轴平行,并且[1120]Qz//[001]Cpx;(3)11%的石英至少有一个s{1121}面平行,并且(1121)Qz//(100)Cpx.钙质角闪石析出物与寄主单斜辉石也具有密切结晶学取向关系:(100)Amp//(100)Cpx、[010]Amp//[010]Cpx、[001]Amp//[001]Cpx、[100]Amp∧[100]Cpx≈32°.上述定量显微构造证据表明,单斜辉石中定向石英析出物是由出溶作用所形成,并且多数石英出溶体形成于α石英稳定域.已有高温高压实验研究数据表明,单斜辉石中空位的形成和钙埃斯科拉组分(CaEs)的含量均受化学组成、压力、温度等多种因素综合影响:单斜辉石中CaEs含量对化学组成非常敏感,并受到共生矿物体系中自由SiO2相和蓝晶石的共同缓冲;相同化学组成和等压条件下,CaEs含量总体上随温度升高缓慢降低;相同化学组成和等温条件下,CaEs含量在<6 GPa区间随压力升高而增加,在>6 GPa区间随压力升高而降低.单斜辉石定向SiO2析出物的形成可能涉及多种因素,高压只是其中必要条件之一.榴辉岩质单斜辉石中“石英±角闪石”析出物很可能形成于开放体系,与熔流体活动密切相关,涉及多阶段物质扩散、晶体成核生长、重结晶、退变质反应等复杂作用过程.单斜辉石中定向SiO2析出物的显微结构特征并非超高压岩石的必要条件,这种特殊显微结构也不能作为证明超高压的充分条件.   相似文献

柴北缘构造带中元古代鹰峰环斑花岗岩主要造岩矿物的研究结果表明,该岩体具pyterlitic型环斑结构,各主要矿物均具多世代特征。钾长石主要以卵形斑晶出现,出溶钠长石条纹极发育,出溶后主晶成分为Or94.57Ab5.25An0.18,钠长石条纹为Or0.71Ab97.59An1.7,推算出球斑均一化成分为Or66.41Ab32.95An0.64。岩浆结晶的斜长石以更长石为主,由于不同程度的蚀变使An降低成为钠质长石。黑云母多有不同程度的蚀变,析出磁铁矿和钛铁矿,析出铁后黑云母的n(Fe)/n(Fe+Mg)=0.5~0.63,属Mg-Fe2+-和Fe2+-黑云母,原成分应更富铁。鹰峰岩体在矿物组成及主要矿物特征上与典型环斑花岗岩的相似,但也存在一些差异,这些差异有的是起因于加里东期的变质改造,有的反映了岩体形成环境和过程的特性。  相似文献

An unusual magmatic three-feldspar syenogabbro occurs 3 m inside the contact of the Klokken gabbro-syenite stock. It contains plagioclase, mesoperthite and cryptoperthite, together with a low temperature symplectite intergrowth. Textural relationships have been investigated by cathodoluminescence, bulk chemistry by microprobe, and exsolution microtextures and intracrystalline boundaries by TEM. The mesoperthite has a bulk composition around Or26Ab52An22, well outside accepted limits of ternary feldspar solid solution. It is a mainly coherent, lamellar intergrowth of sodic andesine and orthoclase with incipient Mtwinning. The cryptoperthite, bulk composition around Or61Ab33An6, is a coherent lamellar intergrowth of orthoclase and sodic low oligoclase. The compositions of the exsolved phases have been estimated. The meso- and cryptoperthite crystals have sharp boundaries with each other. Plagioclase (zoned An 55-35, with 2–3% Or) defines a solidus fractionation path. It behaved as an inert phase during crystallization of the perthites, which grew as homogeneous monoclinic phases in equilibrium on the strain-free ternary solvus, defining a solvus isotherm at ~ 950° C. Both of the monoclinic phases exsolved on reaching the coherent ternary spinodal at temperatures estimated to be close to 800–850° C and 700–830° C respectively. Lamellar periodicities (529±149 nm and 148±18 nm respectively) are considerably finer scale than predicted by coarsening experiments, suggesting that An and/or Al-Si order greatly inhibit coarsening. The symplectite is a coarse, incoherent intergrowth of sodic andesine and nearly pure K-feldspar, probably produced by simultaneous crystallization at <400° C. The new data and literature analyses are used to construct the geometry of the ternary feldspar system. Solvus isotherms implied by existing experimental data approach the Ab apex too closely at high temperature. The critical solution curve becomes slightly more albitic after leaving the binary Ab-Or join, and then turns sharply towards the An-Or join. It intersects the proposed new limit of feldspar solid solution near Or36Ab44An20 at 1,060° C. This probably approximates to the highest temperature on the ternary critical curve at 1 bar.  相似文献

The bulk composition, mineralogy and mineral chemistry of base-metal sulfides have been investigated in the Fe-Ni-(Cu) ore deposits of the Ivrea-Verbano basic complex.The sulfide ores mostly display textural evidence of having been primarily deposited as an immiscible melt. Bulk compositions of the ores indicate that considerably low Ni/Fe and Ni/Co ratios are found in deposits developed close to metasedimentary country rocks, possibly as a result of mixing with sedimentary sulfur.Phase relations of primary sulfides indicate that early crystallization of the ore was dominated by a monosulfide solid solution (Mss) with a pyrrhotite composition, from which pentlandite and chalcopyrite were formed through subsolidus exsolution. Pentlandite from contaminated ores is typically enriched in Co. Troilite and hexagonal intermediate pyrrhotite intergrowths frequently occur due to low-temperature equilibration of metal-rich pyrrhotites, suggesting a low S fugacity of the original sulfide melt.The sulfides may be locally mobilized and redeposited along shear zones within the same host rock, giving rise to fairly massive ores having a typical cemented-breccia texture. Bulk composition and assemblages suggest that mobilization occurred at various temperatures during the cooling history of the ore, when sulfides were still in the molten state or at a lower temperature under the influence of abundant deuteric fluids. In this last case, growth of pyrite is seen as being possibly due to sulfurization and/or oxidation.  相似文献

Exsolution and coarsening in Fe-free clinopyroxene of composition En45.1Di54.9 was studied at temperatures of 1300, 1200, and 1100°C, and annealing times between 10 min and 4320 h. Based on the wavelength of the exsolution lamellae, the exsolution process can be divided into exsolution sensu stricto and coarsening. During exsolution sensu stricto, the average wavelength of the “001” and “100” lamellae remains constant in contrast to the subsequent coarsening process. A progressive development of the microstructure is observed before coarsening which includes formation of island-like regions of dark contrast without phase separation, occurrence of pigeonite and diopside domains predominantly elongated along (100), formation of “100” exsolution lamellae, dissolution of the “100” lamellae, and predominant occurrence of “001” exsolution lamellae. All observations are in accordance with the exsolution mechanism of spinodal decomposition. After termination of the exsolution process, coarsening of the exsolution lamellae is observed. Alkali feldspars in the Klokken layered syenite (South Greenland) are optically either coarse, turbid, deuteric patch perthites or clear, unaltered, fine braid microor cryptoperthites. Irregular, clear volumes can be found in most turbid grains. Electron microscopy shows that all clear crystals or volumes are cryptoperthites in which the periodicity of the exsolution lamellae increases systematically with distance from the roof of the intrusion, from 40 nm to 300nm. They are composed of low albite and diagonally associated maximum microcline. A secondary coarsening is responsible for optically visible braid microperthites.The layered series consists of interleaved, granular syenites and coarser grained, laminated syenites with mineral layering. Microprobe analyses show a downward decrease in Ca and Ba in the granular syenite feldspars consistent with chilling from the roof inwards. Most laminated syenite feldspars contain 1% An increasing to 5% in mafic layers.The periodicity of the exsolution lamellae in the laminated syenite feldspars is consistently up to twice that in adjacent granular syenites. Periodicity is not influenced by Ab:Or or An content, but high-An feldspars have continuous zig-zag intergrowths, while others are more lozengeshaped. Lamellar periodicities largely reflect cooling rate in the pluton. Cooling times in the exsolution interval were probably about 103–104 years at the top of the series, whereas existing experimental data suggest that the periodicities would be reached in a few days or years. The periodicities at the top of the granular series are only slightly greater than experimentally determined initial wavelengths for spinodal decomposition, suggesting that little or no coarsening occurred despite the long cooling times. Coarsening did occur lower in the pile. Framework ordering and twinning must slow or stop coarsening.The difference in periodicity between the granular and laminated syenite series may be caused by differences in amount of water incorporated in the feldspar structure from the magma. The exsolution of this water at low temperatures could be the cause of the deuteric unmixed patch perthites. Small volumes of cryptoperthite which have escaped deuteric unmixing may be common in igneous rocks in general and may be useful relative indicators of cooling rate.  相似文献

 The extremely young (2.5 Ma) I-type Eldzhurtinskiy granite complex (Central Caucasus) is uniform with respect to modal composition, major and trace element chemistries of bulk rocks and mineral phases. In contrast, it reveals two types of alkali feldspar megacrysts differing in tetrahedral Al-content (2t1) and exsolution microtextures: 1. Alkali feldspar megacrysts (Or70An2Ab28) from the top of the body consist of ideally coherent intergrowths of fine-scale regular Or- and Ab-rich lamellae. The exsolved K-feldspar host is monoclinic (2t1=0.7), the exsolved Na-rich phase consists of Albite- and/or Pericline-twinned albite. 2. Megacrysts from greater depths have the same bulk composition, but the exsolved Ab-rich phase occurs in the form of optically visible, broad lamellae and patches of low albite. In addition, the K-rich host yields a higher degree of (Al, Si) ordering (2t1=0.8). The evolution of the distinct types of megacrysts reflects differences in the cooling history within the upper and lower part of the granite body. The occurrence of the coherent lamellae in the megacrysts from the top of the body is attributed to exsolution under dry conditions during fast cooling, whereas coarsening of lamellae and formation of albite patches in the megacrysts from the lower part are caused by fluid-feldspar interaction. The transition zone in the body between the two types of megacrysts is sharp (in a depth interval of 100–200 m) and not related to shear zones. A new chemical etching technique reveals fine scale exsolution structures on polished surfaces of plagioclases in the bytownite and labradorite range. A very obvious blue and locally brown stain is produced (by the action of citric acid) in growth zones of a restricted range of compositions on etched surfaces. The blue-stained zones contain very fine grooves, corresponding to the traces of thin exsolution lamellae. Exsolution features have been revealed in this way in plagioclases in a terrestrial diabase, lunar basalts and an amphibolite. Compositions of the exsolved areas found by microprobe analysis represent averages of the matrix and exsolution lamellae. Analytical methods with higher spatial resolution are required to determine the composition of the lamellae. This etching method permits easy optical identification of compositional zoning and of fine scale exsolution over relatively large areas and is therefore complementary to other techniques.  相似文献

New experimental data on the effect of anorthite (An) on liquidus phase equilibria in the system Qz–Ab–Or are presented. The data were obtained for 5 wt% An added to variable Qz/Ab/Or compositions at 300 MPa and under H2O-saturated conditions. Crystal–liquid equilibria were determined for 13 synthetic glass compositions made from gels in experiments performed between 660 and 750 °C in cold-seal pressure vessels. Forward and reversal experiments were systematically conducted on each composition to demonstrate equilibrium. A total of 51 charges was examined. Three crystalline phases, quartz, alkali feldspar and plagioclase appear on the H2O-saturated liquidus surface. The determined minimum liquidus 5 wt% An “piercing” point (39% Qz, 33% Ab, 28% Or) is shifted away from the Ab apex toward the Qz–Or sideline when compared with the An-free 300 MPa H2O-saturated minimum. This shift is of the same type as that observed at 100 MPa in the same system and at 200 MPa in a rhyolitic system. The new experimental results are used to test both empirical and thermodynamic models for silicic magmas. Empirical models reproduce reasonably well the new experimental data, although more sophisticated calculations schemes appear to be required to improve their accuracy. The new experimental results in the haplogranodiorite system are not well reproduced with the model of Holland and Powell (2001), mainly because plagioclase stability appears greatly enhanced in the model. Rhyolite-MELTS satisfactorily reproduces the Qz-, Pl- and Af-liquid phase equilibria, but model H2O solubilities are significantly lower and crystallization temperatures higher than in experiments.  相似文献

Peristerite feldspars from Seiland in Norway have been studied by a combination of transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The different types of microtextures have been correlated with the local mean composition, and it is found that the miscibility gap between An4 and An17 extends into the ternary Or—Ab—An region. The orientation of the more common type of exsolution lamellae varies from (08¯1) to about (¯1, 21, ¯2) with increasing potassium content.  相似文献

Textural interpretation of ore-mineral assemblages, such as bornite-chalcopyrite (bn-cpy) intergrowths, should be based on definite experimentation. Appropriate exsolution and coarsening experiments were performed using sealed, evacuated, silicaglass tubes; synthetic bn-cpy solid solutions were annealed between 100° and 350°C for times of 20 min to 10 weeks. Early-formed textures develop through nucleation and growth and depend on the initial degree of supersaturation and the metal diffusivities. Final textures, due to additional growth and coarsening, are very sensitive to temperature and may serve as geothermometers. Mutual boundary textures which form above 250°C can originate by: (1) simultaneous precipitation; (2) exsolution during slow cooling from above the solvus; and (3) metamorphism to temperatures above about 250°C. Widmanstätten textures are not compatible with slow cooling, but indicate: (1) low-temperature replacement of bn; or (2) exsolution of cpy lamellae from anomalous bn heated to around 200°–250°C during mild metamorphism.  相似文献

The variation in cooling processes with depth in a magma body is evaluated quantitatively by analysis of the extent of exsolution coarsening and deuteric coarsening as sub-solidus reactions. This method is applied to evaluation of the Okueyama granitic body of central Kyushu, Japan. Exsolution coarsening has produced microperthite textures in this body, while deuteric coarsening has resulted in patchperthite, myrmekite, and reaction rims, respectively. Through measurement of six textural parameters, including the width and spacing of lamellae and the thickness of myrmekite and reaction rims, the extent of these sub-solidus reactions is shown to increase systematically with depth in the granite body, indicating that the Okueyama cooled gradually from the roof. The hornblende–plagioclase and ternary feldspar thermometers indicate temperature a range of 710 to 620 °C for volume diffusion associated with exsolution coarsening, while deuteric coarsening is found to have occurred at temperatures below 500 °C on the basis of the ternary feldspar thermometer. The cooling period corresponding to exsolution coarsening is estimated using a one-dimensional heat transfer model, yielding periods of 820 y at the roof and 1390–1890 y at the base of the exposure (1000 m below the roof) depending on total depth of the original magma body.  相似文献

 Iron-rich olivines (Fa100∼Fa70Fo30) experimentally altered in alkaline and acidic aqueous oxidizing environment were examined in transmission electron microscope to determine the precipitate phases and their crystallographic relationships to the host. The planar zones consist of precipitates of laihunite and hematite in alkaline aqueous oxidizing environment while hematite and amorphous silica in acidic aqueous oxidizing environment. The directions of planar zones produced in alkaline aqueous oxidizing environment are parallel to (100)∼(001) of olivine dependent on the composition of the host olivines, while those produced in acidic aqueous oxidizing environment are always parallel to (001) of olivine independent from the composition of the host olivine. These differences are interpreted by the dissolution kinetics of olivine. The present experimental results explain why the planar zones found in oxidized iron-rich olivines in carbonaceous chondrite are parallel to (100) of olivine while those in terrestrial olivines are parallel to (001) of olivine. Charge contrast imaging in the scanning electron microscope can provide new insights into the scale and composition of alkali feldspar microtextures, and such information helps considerably with the interpretation of their geological histories and results of argon isotope thermochronological analyses. The effectiveness of this technique has been illustrated using potassium-rich alkali feldspars from the Dartmoor granite (UK). These feldspars contain strain-controlled lamellar crypto- and microperthites that are cross-cut by strain-free deuteric microperthites. The constituent albite- and orthoclase-rich phases of both microperthite generations can be readily distinguished by atomic number contrast imaging. The charge contrast results additionally show that sub-micrometre-sized albite ‘platelets’ are commonplace between coarser exsolution lamellae and occur together to make cryptoperthites. Furthermore, charge contrast imaging reveals that the orthoclase-rich feldspar is an intergrowth of two phases, one that is featureless with uniform contrast and another that occurs as cross-cutting veins and grains with the {110} adularia habit. Transmission electron microscopy shows that the featureless feldspar is tweed orthoclase, whereas the veins and euhedral grains are composed of irregular microcline that has formed from orthoclase by ‘unzipping’ during deuteric or hydrothermal alteration. The charge contrast imaging results are especially important in demonstrating that deuteric perthites are far more abundant in alkali feldspars than would be concluded from investigations using conventional microscopy techniques. The unexpected presence of such a high volume of replacement products has significant implications for understanding the origins and geological histories of crustal rocks and the use of alkali feldspars in geo- and thermochronology. Whilst the precise properties of feldspars that generate contrast remain unclear, the similarity between charge contrast images and corresponding cathodoluminescence images of deuteric microperthites indicates that trace element chemistry and possibly also elastic strain within the crystal play a major role.  相似文献

Pyroxenes of pigeonitic and augitic bulk compositions in H3–4 chondritic meteorites commonly exhibit sigmoidal precipitates, rather than the elsewhere common lamellar associations. Most often, submicrometric sigmoids with calcic clinopyroxene composition occur within clinoenstatite; more rarely, clinoenstatite sigmoids occur within calcic clinopyroxene. The sigmoids appear as 001 terminated lamellae, with terminations rotated in opposite directions towards the 100 orientation. Pre-exsolution pigeonite and augite formed at temperatures higher than 980 °C, whereas sigmoidal exsolution occurred between 990 and 830 °C. Local anomalous lattice parameters determined by electron diffraction suggest that lattice parameters are most strained where the exsolution texture is most poorly defined. Shear strain occurs during exsolution due to mismatching lattice parameters and variable angles. In response to shear stress, the lamellae relax and assume sigmoidal strained morphologies. Sigmoidal exsolution is strongly controlled by (100) orthoenstatite stacking faults that possibly trigger exsolution.  相似文献

磁黄铁矿固治体从硫化物熔体结晶后,在缓慢冷却过程中经历了显著的退火。出治和出治体的租化是固治体退火的两种方式。叶片状的单斜磁黄铁矿和“火焰状”的镍黄铁矿原始出治相在降温过程中均可发生退火和租化。分布于磁黄铁矿等矿物粒间或包于磁黄铁矿粒内的粒状镍黄铁矿,不只是高温出治的直接产物,有一部分可能是由火焰状出治体租化而成的。磁黄铁矿中单斜变体的出治和租化可使矿石的磁性发生改变,镍黄铁矿出治体的租化使含镍矿物的粒度加大。因而,退火作用对矿石的选矿工艺性能有着显著影响。  相似文献

Three plagioclases in the composition range An66–70 from the different geological environments were selected for investigation of the Huttenlocher exsolution by Laue and Weissenberg methods with monochromatic X-ray radiation. In order to find the characteristics of the Huttenlocher exsolution at high temperatures heating experiments were carried out. The reversible phase transition between body centered plagioclase and high plagioclase in the anorthite-rich composition of the plagioclase and the irreversible transition from intermediate plagioclase to high plagioclase in the anorthite-poor composition were observed.  相似文献

The ability of precipitates formed during incongruent dissolution of feldspars in aqueous solutions to act as barriers to mass transfer between the feldspar and the bulk solution is examined using the available textural evidence on such precipitates.

The propensity of precipitates for forming compact coatings on the dissolving grains is measured by a characteristic distance of diffusion of the precipitating component, a function of the diffusion coefficient of the component in solution and of the rate constant for its precipitation. The available evidence on precipitates formed during dissolution of feldspars, complemented by the evidence on similar precipitates produced from comparable solutions in the absence of feldspars, is sufficient for evaluating the protective effect of precipitates under laboratory conditions, and for setting limits to the conditions under which such an effect could be important during weathering and diagenesis.

Feldspar dissolution in the reported kinetic experiments at room temperature and 3 pH 10 could not have been controlled by diffusion through the precipitate, and changes in the rate of release of alkalies after the first couple of days in Lagache's experiments at 200°C also could not have been controlled by diffusion through the precipitate. Other things being equal, characteristic distances of diffusion of components reprecipitated during incongruent dissolution of silicates decrease with increasing temperature, and coating of dissolving grains by compact precipitate layers should be more common at metamorphic temperatures than in the temperature range of weathering and diagenesis.  相似文献

钛磁铁矿内部尖晶石出溶体的成分组成和形成机制对估算磁铁矿固溶体的成分以计算铁钛氧化物的氧逸度-温度具有重要意义.为了探究攀枝花钒钛磁铁矿中尖晶石的成因及形成机制,运用岩相观察和各种微区原位观测手段,系统研究了各类尖晶石的矿物学特征.尖晶石的粒度在纳微米之间,有3种类型:第1种为钛磁铁矿晶界处不规则的大颗粒尖晶石,Mg#为60~70;第2种为钛磁铁矿颗粒内部的粒状尖晶石,Mg#为71~77;第3种为沿钛磁铁矿(100)方向定向分布的尖晶石片晶,Mg#为75~77.3类尖晶石分别与磁铁矿主晶具有相同的取向关系:{111}Mag//{111}Spl,{110}Mag//{110}Spl和{100}Mag//{100}Spl.3类尖晶石均是磁铁矿主晶的出溶体,钛磁铁矿晶界处及其内部的粒状尖晶石的形成与某些晶体缺陷关系密切,是在降温过程中较早出溶的产物,尖晶石片晶在两者之后以旋节分解出溶形成.   相似文献
