珊瑚藻在珊瑚礁发育过程中的作用

珊瑚藻是钙化红藻中的主要类群,是珊瑚礁中的重要组分,并在珊瑚礁发育过程中发挥重要作用：1）珊瑚藻为珊瑚礁体建造提供大量的钙质物源,壮大了珊瑚礁钙质体;2）珊瑚藻具强依附粘结等作用,能将破碎的生物残体等进行裹覆胶合和绑结,构建成抵御强风浪的珊瑚礁体格架;3）珊瑚藻坚硬的钙质面为珊瑚幼虫的附着生长提供硬质基底;4）珊瑚藻通过光合作用,提升珊瑚礁生态系统的能量流动;5）珊瑚藻的高初级生产力,维持珊瑚礁生态系统的高效物质循环。当前珊瑚藻的研究重点包括珊瑚藻对全球变暖、海洋酸化等环境胁迫的响应,以及珊瑚藻的群落结构、种类多样性、时空变化与环境变化的关系等。对珊瑚藻的深入研究将有助于揭示其在珊瑚礁生态系统中的多重功能。     

西沙群岛琛航岛全新世珊瑚礁的起始发育时间及其海平面指示意义

以西沙群岛琛航岛珊瑚礁钻孔为材料,通过高精度铀系测年技术测定了全新世底界的年代;同时利用MAT-253同位素质谱仪和电感耦合等离子体质谱仪测定了0~20 m层段δ¹³C、δ¹⁸O和锶元素的质量分数,以U-Th年龄为基础,结合δ¹³C、δ¹⁸O和锶元素的质量分数均在16~17 m之间明显降低这一特点,得到琛航岛全新世珊瑚礁的起始发育时间为距今7 900 a前,不整合于晚更新世的珊瑚礁体（年代老于110 ka）之上,全新世礁体的厚度为16.7 m。考虑研究区域新构造活动相对稳定,以及南海现代珊瑚礁的礁坪面与大潮低潮面基本一致,琛科2井的钻孔井位高于现代礁坪约2.9 m,推测其起始发育时的位置在现代海平面大潮低潮面之下约13.8 m,即西沙群岛海域7 900 a前的海平面在现代海平面以下约13.8 m,近7 900 a以来海平面上升了至少13.8 m。这一结果为理解全新世南海珊瑚礁的发育历史及海平面变化提供了新的信息。     

冷水珊瑚礁研究进展与评述

相比浅海暖水珊瑚礁,对深海的冷水珊瑚礁研究相对薄弱。近年来随着水下机器人和深潜器技术的进步,国际上兴起了深海珊瑚礁研究热潮。文章综述了：1）冷水石珊瑚的物种多样性及格局分布特征;2）冷水石珊瑚的生长特征及测量方法;3）冷水珊瑚礁的类型、形成机制与演化过程;4）海洋酸化对冷水珊瑚礁的影响;5）冷水石珊瑚对海洋古环境的记录等。最后提出中国南海冷水珊瑚礁研究展望,建议开展探测南海冷水珊瑚礁的分布,监测珊瑚礁区的生态环境,分析冷水石珊瑚群落特征,探讨冷水珊瑚礁对海洋酸化的响应机制,并利用南海冷水石珊瑚重建南海冷水珊瑚礁的发育历史及所记录的古海洋环境等研究工作。     

珊瑚礁形成机制研究综述

首先回顾了近200 a来,对珊瑚礁形成机制研究而发展的各种学说和理论。这些理论根据珊瑚礁的形成是否与海平面的变化有关而分成2类,其中,“沉降”理论、“冰期控制”理论、“冰期控制沉降”理论、“扩张沉降”理论以及“热点沉降”理论等认为珊瑚礁的形成与海平面的变化有关;而“海底上升”理论、“先成台地”理论、“喀斯特盆地”理论等则认为珊瑚礁的形成与海平面的变化无关。其次梳理了近年对太平洋、印度洋、大西洋等地珊瑚礁演变的研究,揭示了控制珊瑚礁结构和形态的影响因素及其在极端事件下的发育和演变;中国对珊瑚礁形成机制的研究则主要集中在近50 a,通过对南海珊瑚礁钻探所获岩心分析或挖坑采样分析,认为珊瑚礁的形成或遵循“沉降”理论和“冰期控制”理论,即南海珊瑚礁的形成演化是在地壳长期缓慢沉降中同时受到第四纪冰期―间冰期的支配。最后,指出由于珊瑚礁的成因非常复杂,因此试图用一种学说来解释所有珊瑚礁发展的历史是不科学的;目前,随着新的野外调查方法和实验技术的应用,能够提供更多种的、更大量的珊瑚礁数据,因此研究具体某个珊瑚礁,找到适合其形成模式的解释显得更为重要。     

南海诸岛珊瑚礁可持续发展

珊瑚礁是具有极高生物生产力和生物多样性的海洋生态系统之一,由于受到自然因素（如气候变化、海平面上升和海洋酸化等）以及人类活动（如过度捕捞、沉积物、污染物和区域发展等）因素的影响,珊瑚礁生态系统近年来不断处于退化之中。如何保护珊瑚礁资源,以使其能持续为人类提供产品和服务,满足当代和未来人们发展的需要则成为关注的焦点。文章介绍了珊瑚礁可持续发展的概念和模式,分析了南海诸岛在珊瑚礁国土资源、渔业资源、旅游资源和油气资源等几方面的可持续发展潜力,及其所面临的自然、人为压力,据此给出了珊瑚礁可持续发展的途径。     

珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体研究综述

淡水透镜体是珊瑚礁岛屿上重要的地下淡水资源,对于满足人们的日常生活需要和维护珊瑚礁岛屿的生态系统非常关键。文章回顾了国内外珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体的研究历程,介绍了它的理论和特征,综述了其发育和演化与岛屿的水文地质、气候、潮汐、地形和植被等的关系。另外,自然压力,诸如干旱、海水入侵、海平面升高和岛的机械侵蚀等,以及人为压力,如过多抽取淡水、污染、地形改变和海岸工程等,都对珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体的稳定造成了威胁,对这类干扰方面的研究也有很多。文章还介绍了常用的淡水透镜体研究模型,包括物理模型、解析模型和数学模型,并对其在淡水透镜体中的研究应用作了概述。对中国珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体的研究现状也作了介绍,研究涉及西沙群岛永兴岛珊瑚礁淡水透镜体的厚度、抽取地下水导致的倒锥现象和生物修复等方面。最后,文章对南海珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体的研究作出展望,提出开展对南海其他珊瑚礁岛屿淡水透镜体的研究工作,以及如何使抽取的地下水除污并可供饮用。     

珊瑚礁岩土的工程地质特性研究进展

文章综述了珊瑚礁岩土工程的研究意义、珊瑚礁岩土的组成、钙质砂的物理性质、钙质砂的静力学特性、珊瑚礁岩土中的桩基工程、珊瑚礁混凝土等方面的研究现状。得出：1）颗粒易破碎是钙质砂最重要的特性,直接影响着钙质砂的其他力学性能,而影响钙质砂颗粒破碎的主要因素有围压、有效应力、颗粒级配、初始孔隙比、颗粒强度、颗粒形状等;2）生物颗粒的易破碎以及成桩过程对钙质砂结构的扰动,导致钙质砂中的桩基承载力远低于普通石英砂;3）在以珊瑚砂为原料的混凝土工程中,利用抗硫酸盐水泥拌养的珊瑚混凝土,其强度和耐久性相对较好。最后指出：加强对钙质砂颗粒破碎发生机理的研究以及建立破碎模型、加强对新型珊瑚礁钢筋混凝土和新型桩基的研究、开展珊瑚礁岩土工程的灾害预防与处理以及工程后期的养护等,是珊瑚礁岩土工程进一步研究的方向。     

赵焕庭研究员珊瑚礁研究成果述评

赵焕庭研究员从1974年以来多次赴南海诸岛、海南岛和雷州半岛珊瑚礁进行野外调查,获取了丰富的资料,研究成果累累,推动我国珊瑚礁学科的发展,并培养了一代新人.文中回顾其从事珊瑚礁研究的历程,并评述其珊瑚礁研究的学术成果:建立了我国第四纪珊瑚礁地质研究的典型剖面;开拓了我国珊瑚礁工程地质研究;系统论述了南海珊瑚礁地貌发展规律,揭示了某些古海洋学状况和新构造运动性质;首次研究了南海珊瑚礁潟湖沉积记录的历史气候;首次进行了我国珊瑚礁区综合海洋地理学研究;较全面开展华南大陆沿岸唯一岸礁徐闻西岸珊瑚礁调查研究;初步总结了我国现代珊瑚礁研究史.     

南海珊瑚礁高分辨率遥感地貌分类体系研究

珊瑚礁遥感地貌分类体系在珊瑚礁遥感地貌制图中具有重要的指导作用。目前,珊瑚礁遥感地貌分类体系仍存在构建标准不统一、部分重要地貌类型不突出以及涵盖地貌类型不完备等问题,影响了珊瑚礁遥感地貌制图应用于珊瑚礁科学和管理。本文采用中国南海46个珊瑚礁(环礁、台礁)的高分辨率遥感影像(WorldView-2、Quickbird),并结合西沙群岛15个岛礁的地貌实地调查数据进行南海高分辨率遥感地貌分类体系的构建研究。以各地貌类型所处礁体位置、动力特征、出露程度和沉积类型为划分标准,将相似尺度和重要性相当的地貌类型归为同等级别,共构建了3级19类南海珊瑚礁遥感地貌分类体系。该分类体系划分标准统一、地貌类型数量最多且完备,新命名了内礁坪生物稀疏带、内礁坪生物丛生带,补充了水下礁脊、潮间带浅滩、浅水礁塘等地貌类型,便于直观理解和推断不同尺度的海洋生态相互作用及重要性。同时,其多等级多尺度性适用于分辨率由低到高的南海珊瑚礁遥感地貌制图,有助于珊瑚礁态势演变分析、管理和保护,为维护国家海洋权益作出应有的贡献。     

生物天敌暴发导致珊瑚礁退化的高分遥感监测与分析——以南海太平岛为例

珊瑚生物天敌黑皮海绵、长棘海星在世界范围内暴发严重威胁珊瑚礁生态健康,然而目前珊瑚礁领域尚缺乏生物天敌暴发后对珊瑚礁地貌类型影响的定量研究。文章利用太平岛珊瑚生物天敌黑皮海绵、长棘海星2次暴发事件前后,覆盖太平岛2016—2022年的26期Sentinel-2遥感影像,结合高分辨率GF-2 (PMS)遥感影像和卫星遥感影像地理信息系统Google Earth平台中的数据,开展中国南海太平岛珊瑚礁地貌类型遥感影像分类实验,对密集珊瑚沉积区、稀疏珊瑚沉积区、珊瑚丛生区、沙坪、浅礁前斜坡等珊瑚礁地貌类型演变进行特征分析。结果表明：1）结合专家解译知识和支持向量机（Support Vector Machine, SVM）分类算法开展的太平岛珊瑚礁地貌类型分类,最高总体精度和Kappa系数分别为96.46%和0.94。2）在2种珊瑚生物天敌暴发期间,太平岛的珊瑚礁丛生区、密集珊瑚沉积区、稀疏珊瑚沉积区等珊瑚礁地貌类型面积有显著下降;黑皮海绵暴发后对密集珊瑚沉积区影响最大,其面积减少72.92%;长棘海星暴发后对珊瑚丛生区影响最大,其面积减少59.17%。3) 2016—2022年,太平岛珊瑚礁退...

Deserts and Aeolian Desertification in China: Book review and some thoughts

Desertification is a global phenomenon that affects about two billion people. It occurs in arid zones where the annual precipitation is below 400 mm, partic- ularly in the marginal areas of the world＇s largest deserts. It is a result of water and wind erosion, over- grazing, global warm-ing, improper soil cultivation, and increased pressure ot population growth, and it causes degradation of soil and natural and agricultural vegetation. The direct result is less food for people and livestock, which influences pop- ulation and animal husbandry fluctuations. Despite ef- forts to combat and reduce desertification, the affected areas are annually increasing.
