Photoelectric observations of six asteroids are presented. The following synodic periods of rotation and amplitudes of variation are reported: 42 Isis, P = 13h.59, Δm = 0.32; 45 Eugenia, P = 5h.70, Δm = 0.30; 56 Melete, P = 13h.7 or 19h.0, Δm = 0.06; 532 Herculina, P = 9h.408, Δm = 0.15; 558 Carmen, P ≈ 10h, Δm ≈ 0.25. The asteroid 103 Hera exhibited no periodic variation in excess of about 0.03 magnitude. The period found for 532 Herculina is one half that previously reported by other observers.  相似文献

The radial optical depth profile of the Encke ringlet obtained by the occultation experiment of the Voyager photopolarimeter (PPS data) is explained to be caused by the gravitational action of the recently discovered stallite 1981 S13 and a second smaller moonlet orbiting near one of its either libration points — L4 or L5. To this aim the results of previous and new numerical particle simulations as well as an extension of the scattering theory concerning a single moonlet to a pair of satellites have been used leading to a triple-peaked ringlet near the orbits of the moonlets. The width and the shape of that ringlet and its separate peaks depend on the mass ratio of both moonlets and on their orbital eccentricites. The best resemblance between the PPS data and the theoretical profile is obtained if the mass ratio of the either moonlets takes M2/M1981S13 ≈ (0.8 … 3.0) × 10−2 and the eccentricities hold: e1981S13 < h1981S13; e2h2 (the values h are the Hill scales of either moonlets defined by h1981S13/2 ≈ (M1981S13/2/3Mh)1/3, Mh = Saturn mass). Furthermore, our results yield a size of 1981 S13 of < 15 km in diameter.  相似文献

Photoelectric lightcurves of six asteroids, observed at the ESO 50-cm photometric telescope, are presented. 45 Eugenia, observed for pole determination program, showed a small amplitude of light variation, i.e., about 0.09÷0.10 mag. For 120 Lachesis, no period of rotation was deduced from three observing nights; it is probably longer than 20 hr. 776 Berbericia was observed again to eliminate the ambiguity between 23h and 15h.3 periods, as pointed out by Schober (1979). The longer period is ruled out, but we suggest a very plausible shorter period of 7h.762, implying, at least at this opposition, one maximum and one minimum per cycle. A similar ambiguity is present for 804 Hispania also. The period could be either 14.h.84 or 7h.42. These two objects are typical of a class of asteroids whose periods are uncertain by a factor two. A short discussion on this problem is given. For 814 Tauris a long period of 35.8 hr is found, confirming the tendency of dark asteroids of intermediate size to rotate more slowly than larger ones. Finally a single-night lightcurve of the fast-moving object 1982DV is presented. Our observations agree very well with Harris' results (1982, private communication).  相似文献

In order to arrive at more general results solving Einstein-Maxwell's equations our investigation is centered around an electromagnetic spin tensor, which must be chosen in such a way that conservation laws still hold. This notion of the combined tensor is of course closely linked with the unified field equations. We shall avoid in this way the problem of the form of the matter tensor and neglect non-linear gravitational terms in the Ricci tensor. Then, the field equations have as solutionsh ij=h ij (P) +h ij (h) , whereh ij (P) are particular solutions, which are obtained by direct calculations andh ij (h) are solutions of h ij (h) =0. The quantitiesh ij (P) are purely electromagnetic in nature, whileh ij (h) may represent purely gravitational terms. The open cluster An King 13 (α(1950) = 00h07m5 δ (1950) = +60°56') was measured in the UBV-system. An King 13 contained 80 stars up to the apparent magnitude mv = 16.4 mag. The distance of the cluster is 1730 pc. The diameter of An King 13 is 7 pc. The luminocity function was determinated.  相似文献

The proton flare of August 28, 1966 began on H records at 15h21m35s UT. It presented an unusually complex development with flare emission occurring in two distinct plages. The brightest part of the flare attained maximum intensity, 152 % of the continuum, between 15h30m and 15h32m UT. Photometric measurements show that a long-enduring part of the flare continued to decline in intensity until at least 21h20m UT.The flare developed first in parts of the plages that were near the extremities of a filament and a complex system of curvilinear absorption structures, possibly an eruptive prominence in projection. During the rise to maximum intensity a large expanding feature moved southward from the site of the flare with a velocity 700 km/sec. Its appearance on monochromatic records of the chromosphere made in the center of H and 0.5 Å on either side was consistent with the effect of an advancing phenomenon that induces a small shift of the H absorption line, first to longer, and then to shorter wavelengths.Two bright flare-filaments were obvious aspects of the event by 15h28m and dominated the main phase of the flare. Loop-type prominences were observed in absorption as early as 15h40m.This investigation was supported in part by the Office of Naval Research through funds from Nonr-1224(19), and in part by the National Science Foundation through funds from GA-632.  相似文献

Photographic observations of Jupiter and its Red Spot between 13 November 1969 and 21 September 1970 are reported. The Red Spot continues its 90-day oscillation in longitude with considerable regularity. An outstanding event of the apparition was the appearance of a new disturbance in the South Tropical Zone. A bright spot at zenographic latitude 23°.8 N displayed the shortest rotation period ever recorded on Jupiter, 9h47m3s.  相似文献

On July 21, 1994, 13 h - 15 h UT, decametric bursts had been recorded at frequencies from 24.0 MHz to 28.5 MHz in Xin Xiang station (longitude =-113.8°, latitude =35.3°), Henan province, China. Three maps of the three hour data are presented. Some of the bursts appears to be relative to the impact of the fragment S(No. 5) of the comet SL-9.The Project is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

A third list of point sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog (PSC), optically identified with late-type stars, is given. The list contains data on 34 objects. The identification was based on the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey (FBS). blue and red maps of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey, and infrared fluxes at wavelengths of 12, 25, 60, and 100 mm in the regions of +61° ≤ δ ≤ +65°, 06h45m ≤ α ≤ 17h28m and +69° ≤ δ ≤ +73°, 03h50m ≤ α ≤ 18h10m. Of 34 objects given in the IRAS PSC as unidentified sources of infrared radiation, 11 are associated with known stars in existing catalogs, 6 are objects from the FBS survey of late-type stars, and 17 sources remained unknown in the optical range, 3 of them also being sources in the IRAS Serendipitous Survey Catalog (SSC). The optical coordinates, their departures from the 1R coordinates, the V magnitudes, the color indices CI, and the preliminary spectral subtypes were determined. The objects have optical magnitudes in the range of 7h.6-13m.6. Finder charts from the DSS are given for 23 objects. Results of photoelectric observations of the asteriods 46 Hestia and 115 Thyra, performed in a cooperative program between the Torino and Table Mountain Observatories, are presented. The rotation periods and the maximum amplitudes are: Psyn = 21h.0.4 ± 0h.01, Amplitude = 0.12 mag and Psyn = 7h.241 ± 0.h.001, Amplitude = 0.20 mag, for Hestia and Thyra, respectively. The multiple-scattering factors, Q, inferred from the phase relation data are 0.054 ± 0.003 and 0.058 ± 0.002 for Hestia and Thyra, respectively. The low value obtained for Thyra disagrees with the mean one given by Bowell and Lumme (1979, in Asteroids (T. Gehrels, Ed.), pp. 132–169. Ten lightcurves and UBV photometry of 433 Eros were obtained between August 1972 and May 1975. The absolute magnitude of the lightcurve maximum is 10.75 and the phase coefficient is 0.025 mag/deg. There may be a small difference in B-V color between the northern and southern hemispheres. The pole of the axis of rotation is directed toward λ0 = 16°, β0 = 12°, ecliptic longitude and latitude, respectively, and the rotation is direct with a sidereal period of 0.d219599 or 5h16m13s4 ± 0.s2. The dimensions derived from the polarimetric albedo and the lightcurve amplitudes are 12km × 12km × 31km for a smooth cylinder with hemispherical ends.  相似文献

Newly available photometric, polarimetric, spectroscopic, thermal-radiometric, radar, and occultation results are synthesized in order to derive a coherent model for Eros. The geometric albedo is 0.19±0.01 at the visual wavelength, and the overall dimensions are approximately 13 × 15 × 36km. The rotation is about the short axis, in the direct sense, with a sidereal period of 5h16m13s.4. The pole of rotation lies within a few degrees of ecliptic coordinates λ = 16° and β = + 11°.Eros is uniformly coated with a particulate surface layer several millimeters thick. It has an iron-bearing silicate composition, similar to that of a minority of main-belt asteroids, and probably identifiable with H-type ordinary chondrites.  相似文献

We present the tenth list of blue stellar objects of the second part of the First Byurakan Spectral Sky Survey (FBS). The list contains 100 objects in the region+73°+80° and3 h 30 m 18 h 30 m encompassing an area of 355 square degrees. The objects have stellar V magnitude within the limits 12.0–18.5 and B-V colors between–0.77 and+0.37. Of these 100 objects, 80 were discovered for the first time. We give the equatorial coordinates, stellar V magnitude, color index CI, and preliminary classification of the objects on the basis of low-disperion prismatic spectra. For 29 objects we give approximate types, among which 4 are candidates for quasars, 2 for Seyfert galaxies, 1 for superassociation galaxy IC 381, 18 for white dwarfs, and 4 for cataclysmic variables.Translated fromAstrofizika, Vol. 38, No. 2, 1995.  相似文献

New data about the top clouds of Venus were obtained during the radiometric experiment on-board the Venera 9 and Venera 10 orbiters. A diurnal component of the ir thermal radiation was determined for the latitude range ?40, +50°. The brightness temperature of radiation referred to the normal was measured; it was 244°K at night and 239°K at the subsolar point for the 7- to 13-, 17- to 30-μm bands. Minimum temperatures correspond to the meridian of local time 16.00h and are 232°K. There is also a zone of lower temperatures in the region of local time 7.5h. Absolute temperatures were measured with an accuracy of ?1.9°+1.2°. Thermal radiation has no distinct latitudinal dependence but has a day-night asymmetry, with the night radiation flux exceeding that on the day side by 17%. The limb-darkening law for thermal radiation is rather complicated, depending on the time of day. There are at least two states of the radiating cloud cover: day and night. The extinction coefficient is close to 0.24 km?1. The analysis shows that the source function of the medium is close to Planck's function. During the day the flux of thermal radiation is assumed to be weakened by an aerosol medium forming by photochemical processes. Comparison of experimental and calculated data yields a particle concentration in the radiating cloud cover of about 95 cm?3. Experimental data and the results of ground-based measurements were used to determine the radiometric albedo of Venus, 0.79?0.01+0.02.  相似文献

Series of photometric and colorimetric observations of the Main-Belt asteroid 423 Diotima during its five oppositions were obtained at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. It was concluded, based on the results of a frequency analysis of the V-band photometry obtained in 1990, that the asteroid is a binary system: the rotation period of the primary component is equal to 4. h56, and the period of rotation and the orbital period of the satellite are equal to 14. h90. An analysis of simultaneous BV and BVR observations made in 1993 and 1998–1999 yielded a rotation period of 4. h54 ± 0. h01 for the primary component. An analysis of the sets of V-band observations of the asteroid made from 1982 through 2000 allowed us to find the period of forced precession, which was equal to 113d (or 226d). It was suggested that the axis of the primary component of the binary asteroid precesses and the large amplitude of brightness variations (about 1 m ) is due to its lenticular shape.  相似文献

The structure of the A1035 cluster of galaxies (10h32m + 40°13′, cz ~ 22000 kms?1), which exhibits a bimodal distribution of galaxy radial velocities (ΔV ≈ 3000 kms?1), is analyzed using three methods of determining the relative distances to clusters from early-type galaxies: the Kormendy relation corrected for the dependence of residuals on galaxy magnitude, the photometric plane, and the fundamental plane. We use the data obtained with the l-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences and SDSS (DR5) data to show that A1035 consists of two gravitationally unbound independent clusters. These clusters with the velocity dispersions of 566 km s?1 and 610 km s?1 and masses within R 200 equal to 2.7 · 1014 and 3.5 · 1014 M , respectively, obey the Hubble law.  相似文献

The distributionsf(z) of the redshifts for active galaxies (Seyfert galaxies, radio galaxies, and quasars) have been studied. Some statistically-significant maxima and minima are observed in the distributionsf(z) for these objects. The significance of peaks and gaps increases for the brighter objects, for which the samples are more complete. The clustering of the Seyfert galaxies is significantly different from that of the nearby normal galaxies. The distributionf(z) for the radio galaxies is similar to the analogous distribution for the galaxy clusters. Three of the five peaks in the distributionf(z) for the radio quasars may be caused by the selection effects. Two peaks within the intervalsz (0.5, 0.7) and (1.0, 1.1) are probably real. The corresponding scales of the QSO clustering along the line-of-sight are about 100h –1 Mpc (h is the Hubble constant in the units of 75 km s–1 Mpc–1). The possibility of some global quasi-periodical cycles for the processes of activity is discussed. The period of a cycle for the Seyfert and radio galaxies is about 1×108 years that corresponds to the distances of about 30h –1 Mpc between the shells.  相似文献

The complex lightcurves make (51) Nemausa a good case for the study of general methods for pole determination. From six lightcurves the pole is determined to 20h24m; +53° (1950); the rotation is retrograde with period 7h.782936 ± 0h.000005. Presence of nongeometric scattering is proved by a significant 0.008 mag amplitude. Formulae and photometric elements are given for predictions of the shapes of lightcurves in future oppositions. The precision of the Fourier coefficients may be reduced below the present ±0.003 mag level by avoiding the systematic errors in the observations due to phase factor variations and discontinuities when changing comparison stars.  相似文献

In an area of nearly 23.1 square degrees centered at α(1950) = 23h57m and δ(1950) = + 59δ48' magnitudes, colors, and spectral classes were determined for 1419 stars brighter than mpg = 13m.00. Star counts were made in this area for all objects brighter than mpg = mpv = 15m.5. Altogether 50585 stars were included in the pv counts. The original photographic data have been transformed to the B, V system. From star counts the ratio of total-to-selective extinction was derived to be R ≉ 4.0 ± 0.2. It depends on the distance to the stars under consideration as well as on the surface density of the objects inside the considered region. In einem Gebiet von annähernd 23.1 Quadratgrad mit den Mittelpunktskoordinaten α(1950) = 23h57m und δ(1950) = 59°48' werden für 1419 Sterne heller als mpg = 13m.00 Helligkeiten, Farben und Spektraltypen bestimmt. Sternzählungen in Helligkeitsintervallen mpg und mpv wurden für alle Objekte heller als mpg = mpv = 15m.5 durchgeführt. Für diese 50585 Sterne wurden die gemessenen photographischen und photovisuellen Helligkeiten in das B, V-System transformiert. Im Ergebnis dieser Sternzählungen wurde ein Wert von R ≉ 4.0 ± 0.2 abgeleitet. Er hängt sowohl von der Entfernung der betrachteten Objektgruppen als auch von der Flächendichte der Sterne innerhalb der Region ab.  相似文献

The discovery of a flare star (R.A. (1950)=6h43m6s.07, Decl.(1950)=?16°45′24″) located about 6 arc min south of Sirius is reported. During photometric observations on the night of 13 January, 1982, using the 102 cm telescope at Kavalur, India, the star was seen to brighten by 2.55 mag. inV band over a duration of about 200 s. Observations on this object for a duration of about 10.5 hr spread over seven more nights indicate the star to be variable. The results of these observations are presented.  相似文献
