苏北—滨海断裂在江苏以北的存在与活动性长期以来存在争议。本研究通过小多道地震探测技术,对苏北—滨海断裂北段及附近海域进行探测,识别出4个反射界面,将研究区第四纪地层划分为4个地震层序,分别对应全新世、晚更新世、中更新世和早更新世4个地质时期。对照区域地质构造,对地震剖面断点进行分析,认为断点F1、F2、F3、F4、F8、F9、F10对应为苏北—滨海断裂,断裂错动的最新地层为晚更新世,因此推断苏北—滨海断裂为晚更新世活动断裂。  相似文献

The Northern Adriatic is one of the most productive regions of the Mediterranean, primarily due to the eutrophicating influence of Italian rivers, in particular the Po. In June 1977 unusually high phytoplankton standing crops (13 μg Chl a l.?1) occurred, together with extremely low dissolved oxygen concentrations in bottom waters (to 13%) which persisted for 4–6 months. Such conditions were associated with unusual climatic conditions creating increased discharge from the Po.The data indicate long term meteorological changes which may alter the biological characteristics of the region to a degree equal to, or exceeding, those created by anthropomorphic eutrophication.The 1977 data are presented, discussed, and contrasted with a 10 year data series.  相似文献

An analysis of the climate change signal for seasonal temperature and precipitation over the Northern Adriatic region is presented here. We collected 43 regional climate simulations covering the target area, including experiments produced in the context of the PRUDENCE and ENSEMBLES projects, and additional experiments produced by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. The ability of the models to simulate the present climate in terms of mean and interannual variability is discussed and the insufficient reproduction of some features, such as the intensity of summer precipitation, are shown. The contribution to the variance associated with the intermodel spread is computed. The changes of mean and interannual variability are analyzed for the period 2071–2100 in the PRUDENCE runs (A2 scenario) and the periods 2021–2050 and 2071–2100 (A1B scenario) for the other runs. Ensemble results show a major warming at the end of the 21st century. Warming will be larger in the A2 scenario (about 5.5 K in summer and 4 K in winter) than in the A1B. Precipitation is projected to increase in winter and decrease in summer by 20% (+0.5 mm/day and −1 mm/day over the Alps, respectively). The climate change signal for scenario A1B in the period 2021–2050 is significant for temperature, but not yet for precipitation. In summer, interannual variability is projected to increase for temperature and for precipitation. Winter interannual variability change is different among scenarios. A reduction of precipitation is found for A2, while for A1B a reduction of temperature interannual variability is observed.  相似文献

The Calipuy Formation is a primarily volcanic sequence deposited during the period 33 to 10 m.y. ago when basaltic and andesitic volcanoes developed concomitant with a N60°E horizontal foreshortening of the Peruvian Andes. The axis of compression is inferred from both fault tectonics in and near the Calipuy sequence and from N30°W-striking fold axes within it. Dacitic domes younger than 10 m.y. unconformably overlie the Calipuy sequence.Basaltic and andesitic effusive rocks concurrently filled a basin which developed during volcanism. During subsidence 80% of the fill was provided by primary extrusive igneous material, whereas sedimentary rocks associated with the igneous assemblage account for only 20%.Limited chemical data indicate that Calipuy andesitic rocks are slightly richer in alkalies than the average Cenozoic andesite, but petrographic data show that they are similar to other andesites of this age found in similar environments in the Andes. However, the analyses are too few to make any real generalization concerning petrogenesis.  相似文献

A geoelectric structure of the lithosphere is constructed to a depth of 300 km on the basis of experimental electromagnetic studies along the geotraverse crossing all of the major first-order structural zones in the Northern Urals. Important constraints on the crust and upper mantle layering are obtained from electric parameters at various depth levels. Together with the compositions of rocks, including the crust of weathering, structural-tectonic relations between geological objects (complexes and faults) identified at the Earth’s surface and characteristics of the deep geoelectric structure are established in upper parts of the section.  相似文献

Elision and infiltration groundwater of the Northern Caspian basin are described. It is shown that a zone of elision brines with a high formation pressure exists under the Caspian Sea. These brines are shown to penetrate from below the Caspian Sea into the underground beds, carry fluids, and facilitate the formation of hydrocarbon fields.  相似文献

Refraction lines on the Northern Cocos Plate between the Orozco and Clipperton Fracture Zones have been used to determine upper mantle velocities over the plate. The velocities range from 7.50 to 8.43 km/sec. Azimuthal variations are found near the rise crest with low velocities parallel to the rise crest. The low velocities increase with age, lessening the observed azimuthal dependence away from the rise crest. A low-velocity zone is found in the mantle and may extend over a considerable portion of the plate near the rise crest. A 7.1-km/sec basal crustal layer is also observed and makes up a substantial portion of the crustal thickness.  相似文献

The inner Northern Apennines (western Tuscany and Tyrrhenian basin) is characterized by a relatively thin continental crust (∼20–25 km), high heat flow (>100 mW m−2), and the presence of relevant tectonic elision of stratigraphic sequences, a setting known as Serie Ridotta. These features are normally ascribed to an extensional deformation that affected the back-arc area above the subducting Adria plate since the Early-Middle Miocene (∼16 Ma). However, various geophysical studies image the continental crust to be currently affected by W-dipping thrust faults (and associated basement uplifts) that have not been obliterated by this claimed long-lasting extensional process. These observations raise the question whether the thrusts are older or younger than the continental extension. To address this question we have reprocessed and interpreted the deep seismic reflection profile CROP03/c that crosses the onshore hinterland sector, and investigated the structural setting of some of the Late Miocene-Pliocene hinterland basins (Cinigiano-Baccinello, Siena-Radicofani, Tafone, Albegna and Radicondoli basins) that are situated at the front or in-between the basement uplifts. The analysis of field structures and commercial seismic profiles has allowed the recognition that both substratum and basins’ infill have been intensely shortened. These findings and the architecture of the basins suggest that the latter developed under a contractional regime, which would have started around 8.5 Ma with the onset of the continental sedimentation. This compressive stress state followed an earlier phase of continental extension that presumably started at ∼16 Ma (with the blocking of the Corsica-Sardinia rotation), and thinned both the continental crust and sedimentary cover producing most of the Serie Ridotta. The main phases of basin shortening are bracketed between 7.5 and 3.5 Ma, and thus overlap with the increase in the exhumation rate of the metamorphic cores at ∼6–4 Ma determined through thermochronological data. We therefore propose a correlation between the basin deformation and the activity of the nearby basement thrusts, which would have thus shortened a previously thinned continental crust. This chronology of deformation may suggest a geodynamic model in which the back-arc and hinterland sector of the Northern Apennines was recompressed during Late Miocene-Early Pliocene times. This evolution may be explained through different speculative scenarios involving a blockage of the subduction process, which may vary between end members of complete slab detachment and stalled subduction.  相似文献

The results of studying hydrocarbons during the flood in May 2005 are discussed. The concentration of aliphatic and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are shown to match their concentrations in water areas with steady input of pollutants. Weathered oil and pyrogenic compounds dominated in their composition. The geochemical barrier the Northern Dvina River-Dvina Gulf is shown to become a filter during floods and prevents pollutants from penetrating into the White Sea.  相似文献

We argue that the study of long-range interaction between seismic sources in the peri-Adriatic regions may significantly contribute to estimating seismic hazard in Italy. This hypothesis is supported by the reconstruction of the geodynamic and tectonic settings in the Central Mediterranean region, the space–time distribution of major past earthquakes, and the quantification of post-seismic relaxation. The most significant evidence of long-distance interaction is recognized for the Southern Apennines, whose major earthquakes have almost regularly followed within a few years the largest events in the Montenegro-Albania zone since 1850. Statistical analyses of the post-1850 earthquake catalogues give a probability of about 10% that a major event in the Southern Apennines is not preceded by the occurrence of a strong event in the Southern Dinarides–Albanides within 3–5 years. Conversely, the probability of false alarms is relevant (50% within 3 years, 33% within 5 years). Northward, the tectonic setting and some patterns of regularity seen in major events suggest that the seismic activation of the main transtensional decoupling shear zones in the Central Apennines should influence the probability of major earthquakes in the Northern Apennines.  相似文献

Summary A model of radial drifting and oscillating dipoles to represent geomagnetic palaeosecular variations, which showed to be appropriate for the Southern Hemisphere, is evaluated for the Northern Hemisphere. After a new fitting of some involved parameters, its theoretical results are compared with the palaeomagnetic data of Lake de Bouchet (France) and the Black Sea. A time lag between the declination and inclination profiles is observed in both cases. 本文通过钻孔地层对比方法研究了顺义一良乡断裂北段的第四纪活动性,资料显示该断裂在第四纪期间呈现强弱交替的分期活动特征,距今315万年以来有3个较强活动期和3个较弱活动期,前三者分别距今266~315、171~228、73~147万年,后三者距今分别为228.266、147~171、0~73万年。中更新世晚期以来断裂活动不明显。超量开采地下水导致地面不均匀沉降是造成顺义地裂缝现今活动的主要原因。  相似文献

Summary Meridional cross sections of temperature, salinity and oxygen of the North Pacific Ocean are prepared to show location of the intermediate water, which is formed at the polar front and spreads on constantsigma-t surfaces. Geostrophic flow in a meridional plane is obtained by dynamic calculation. Friction-driven meridional circulation is determined from the zonally averaged density distribution. This review paper for STIB (Stratosphere-Troposphere Interaction and the Biosphere; a proposed core project for IGBP) summarizes several features of a recently discovered 10–12 year oscillation in the atmosphere on the Northern Hemisphere. The oscillation is especially strong in the stratosphere during the warmer half of the year, but it is evident in the stratosphere and troposphere also in winter if the data are grouped according to the phase of the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation of the wind in the equatorial stratosphere. Karst processes dominate most of the geomorphic activity in the Upper Galilee, consisting mainly of dolomites and limestones. Study of the chemical evolution of water passing through the karst hydrologic cycle clearly shows that the major portion of its carbonate solute is gained subaerially and in the upper part of the vadose zone. Most cave and spring water is already saturated with respect to aragonite and calcite.The karst depressions typical to surface morphology are mostly associated with fault-line traces. Their evolution is possible mainly in areas sloping initially less that 5°.The absence of evolved caves, representing well-developed karst of an earlier period, is attributed mainly to the marginal climate throughout the past combined with tectonic, and hence hydrologic, instability of the region.The discharge of the karst prings shows clearly dependence on annual precipitation, with a lag of about 2 years of the response to drought or more humid periods. Long-term fluctuations are larger in the smaller T'eo Spring than in the affluent 'Enan Springs.Most of the denuded material is extracted from the region as dissolved load via underground conduits and only small amounts as clastics. Mean long-term denudation is approximately 20 mm/1000 years, averaged for the surface area contributing to the springs.In spite of the above, most topographic forms are shaped by runoff erosion, active during medium to high intensity rainstorms. Solution processes prevail during low to medium rainfall intensities, while different parts of the region are denuded at similar rates. Even in karst depressions, erosion becomes dominant after their bottoms are covered by almost impervious terra-rossa mantle.  相似文献

A cluster of well-preserved recent volcanoes in the northern Bayuda Desert make up a more or less continuous field some 520 km2 in area surrounded by a number of isolated centres of eruption. The volcanoes are numerous but small; up to 400 m in height and 0.35 km2 in volume. Most of them are simple composite volcanoes with a pyroclastic cone skirted by a small lava field erupted from the same vent after explosive eruptions had ceased. In a few instances, however, the cone was eviscerated by more violent eruptions, leaving a deep explosion crater. The lavas are all nepheline-normative alkali basalts and contain a variety of xenocrysts and xenoliths from at least three different sources. The distribution of the recent volcanoes was partly controlled by large granitic ring-intrusions of the Basement Complex country rocks. These intrusions belong to the Younger Granite association of late Precambrian or Lower Palaeozoic age and represent a volcanic-intrusive episode widespread in northern Africa. The complexes are composed of cale-alkaline and peralkaline granites and syenites and a related plexus of dyke swarms.  相似文献

Near Lake Manyara and north of Monduli, Northern Tanzania, Precambrian gneisses and Neogene basalts on the East African rift were sampled. Rock magnetic and microscope investigations established coarse and fine grained magnetite as carrier of the NRM in the basalts, and hematite in the gneisses. In all three sections only reversed magnetization directions were found. The Precambrian gneisses show very hard magnetizations which is known to be prefolding and possibly of Proterozoic age.  相似文献
